Sounds like a great idea Jilly Bean except mum says she'd prefer to be in a warm kitchen with yours baking bread! <3

Happy Sunday! :) Going to a friend's house for appetizers and then to where I play bingo for a Super Bowl party. Wish me luck, I could win big!! No time to chat as I would like to ride my bike for an hour, then a video chat with my kids. Enjoy your Sunday no matter what you are doing today. And Lin, you are right my hair will grow to the right length by my trip.

Good morning sneakers. We have rain but not super chilly out, just normal winter Oregon rain. It is always so intriguing to hear the state university’s report on our aquifers. We are still suffering from a depleted aquifer level, drought in other words. What? It feels like we are in soggy-city here!

We will be watching the Super Bowl. John is looking forward to it. I have a casserole (veggie) ready to shove into the oven while we cheer the Lions to victory. Either team excites us but it feels like it is time for a change. The patriots were never John’s favorite. So here we go!

We watched “The Wife” starring Glenn Close. Oh my! It was fabulous. Watch it if you get a chance. I wish this movie was considered for more awards.

Katie is snuggled into her little tuffet next to the French doors. She has pushed one of them open enough to stick her paws out. The photo of Jilly was so adorable. And George and Betty looked so cute in the snow. Katie would be eating the snow off the deck. She is quite fussy about getting her feet cold and wet. But she will certainly give it a try for a short period of time...3 minutes max. Then back into the house to zoom around and then begins grooming her toes.

I am cooking this morning as well, Anne. Nothing as demanding as bread, although I would do the less beautiful bread by using the bread machine. No question that the hand made loaf is better.

This is a beautiful day because you all are right there. I see your beaming faces. You are my sunshine...

Oooooooops! I guess it is the Rams John is cheering for...the Lions aren’t even playing! I am such a hopeless football fan. I do understand when a touchdown happens and that’s about the sum of my football knowledge. Yea team!

Sandy, I always hate my hair straight after a shorter cut but as soon as it's washed and the blow dryer blasted through it settles into what I want. Your new cut looks just fine and ideal for travelling and warmer weather.

Patsy, Katie has her life organised to perfection doesn't she and with you and John there to pamper her she is one happy pup!

I've just watched the last episode of a terrific adaptation by Andrew Davies of Les Miserable that I highly recommend to any of you that enjoy dramatic drama. Lots more BBC dramas on the way too by the looks of things... I'll keep you posted.

Time for my bed so I won't be sitting up to watch the Super bowl, a game I never understood either!

Sandy, your hair looks terrific. <3

I have been watching Penelope Keith all afternoon. Very interesting programs. I tried to watch them on Acorn some time back but fell asleep during each program. :D Doing much better today.

Hugs everyone. I hope to do all morning Tai Chi tomorrow or at least as long as it extends.

    Take care.

    Hugs.

    Sandy, I love your hair.

Buzz, sorry you had a bad experience.

Lin, you are so active. Good for you.

Jackie, as I mentioned before, we really enjoy the BBC programs

    Dry cold here. Brrr

My appointment for my breast is on the 12th of February At least I have a date.

I’m afraid I can’t respond to everything as I lost a prior post. I’m so bad at that.

I have made my goal of 8000 steps a day every day in January and now into February.
I am also back at it with weight watchers and doing good in that too. Hopefully the trend will continue. I have been so stressed out about my healthy issues that I gave in and was doing too much snacking. Bad girl
But I’ve turned over a new leaf in February and I think I’m doing pretty good.

I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.

SANDY, your hair is adorable. It simply needed your magic touch!
I think it was Anne who mentioned perhaps I inadvertently eliminated SANDY; testing proved that's not the answer.Eventually, we'll figure it out! As long as my cursor click bring back her post, I'll live with it!
JACKIE dear, I recall the anxious days before my hip surgery. Just enjoy your new coffee maker and use the mantra "everything will be OK!" because it will! Knowing you, you have left nothing undone!!! <3
ANNE, I find it hard to believe when you declare you don't know something about whatever! You seem to be on top of everything, and pretty darn smart!
LIN, sounds like you enjoyed a letup in your scheduling! I can certainly understand that as your schedule would just about kill ME! I think your good wishes have helped pull me through a bad spot, so a huge Thank you!!! <3
Good luck, JERI. Nothing like decent precautions!
PATSY, I join you in neither knowing nor caring about football! I used to hate sitting in my stadium coat, freezing worse every way-o! I am happy to announce by tonight, I think the dooms and glooms are lifting and I seem to be feeling better! BUT, I also see it's 1:20 AM

We've just been for a real long walk among the melting snow piles. YES, girls, it's just like Spring out there. Water coming off the roof like Niagara Falls, amorous squirrels dashing around, birds tweeting. We came home and while The Bean joyfully did her zoomies in the back gardens melting snow I filled the bird feeder for the hungry little critters.

Amazing how ones spirits lift with a touch of Spring. The aches and pains melt away, at least mine have and I sincerely hope everyone else's has.

Your hair is just fine SANDY, it's smooth and silky and be thankful you haven't got my fuzzy mass. It will grow in no time and meanwhile you look as glamorous as ever. I've shut up about my complaining, and I did a lot didn't I. !!!!! Nothing's going to change for me - long or short - so I might just as well sit under it and be thankful I don't have to look at it, lol. 🙃

Busy wash day over here in the old homestead so I won't linger.

Firstly a friend dropped in with a birthday card this morning and apologies for not digging her way through the snowdrifts on Saturday then another friend phoned me thinking I'd already had my hip replacement so was asking how things were and finally I got the pooches out for a walk close to 11am. We strolled round the woods before my last shopping trip for the pets, this time cat pouches and corn for the hens. By then and after 2 cups of coffee before I'd got out, I was desperate for the loo so back home, drop off the dogs then into town to collect a prescription even though I'm not now allowed to take them until after surgery and boy am I feeling the difference!! The queue at the surgery was out the door, no doubt because no one could collect since Thursday morning. Home for lunch and now I've finally put up a replacement light in the shower room without blowing us up!! What next? Well the ladder I used had been outside and created mud streaks on the floor so a mop and bucket then whizz round with the vacuum cleaner. Thanks Anne you've reminded me there are towels in the washing machine waiting to be removed since before I went dog walking!!

Thank you dear Buzz, I'm hanging on to everything will be alright and already a good thing that's come out of it is from a birthday wish from my nephew whose mother is French so lives in Paris who upon my request passed on my love to her after he mentioned she recently had hip replacements too. She immediately emailed me with a lovely little message so we are back in touch after 40 years!

Lots to do so I'll love you and leave you for now.

Good morning! We have about an inch to 2 inches of snow. This is huge! School declared a snow holiday and I can see all sorts of closures. We are not used to snow and this little town is built on the side of a very steep hill. It is steeper than San Francisco. Snow and ice paralyzes us even worse than regular towns.

Even John got tired of the Super Bowl. He just finally gave it up. “I don’t really care who wins this stinky game!” We turned off the TV and checked the computer later to see who won. This is a big change. I think I see him switching to basketball or hockey. As in everything, change and adapt, that the real name of the game. The worst half time show ever!!!!! No clever commercials!!!!!

I am digging into the spring cleaning early. I think I didn’t finish it last year. There are things that must have several years of dirt. Dusty curtains and jammed up pantry shelves, just to name a couple of places. So the year begins with my eye doctor leaving the state. Our regular doctor thinking of retiring. Change and adapt again.

Snow is pretty, especially looking at it from inside a nice warm house. What a powder puff I am.
    Be safe everyone.

Good day! Home again. Had a wonderful morning of Tai Chi and Qigong. Did a couple of errands before coming home. Wow, we had a bit of freezing drizzle this morning, but not bad. The temperature has dropped A LOT! And it is windy again. Apparently almost every day this week has a forecast that includes flurries and/or freezing drizzle. Oh boy!

Patsy, my gosh, a snow day! Take care. I didn’t even try to watch any of the commercials last night. I was a total no-Super Bowl person. Doesn’t feel bad in the least. :D:D Best wishes on spring cleaning. I believe you will accomplish more than I ever get to. I am jealous!

Jackie, what an incredibly busy day you’ve had. And I am glad nothing blew up as you replaced the light. Great skills. I am sorry that you’re not able to take any pain relievers due to your upcoming surgery. Take care and I hope you are okay with whatever you are able to accomplish before your surgery.

Anne, the melting was so incredible here that most of the snow was gone before the cold returned. Even my sump pump was busy yesterday due to the water level rising up the swale in my backyard. Yipes!

Buzz, wahoo, I am glad to here you feel you are past that very rough patch. More hugs and more wishes for continued improvement. <3

Jeri, great step goals. Wahoo! Way to go. Stress eating, bane of my existence. Well done getting it under control. At least you now have a day on the calendar and that is progress. I know, not soon enough, hugs and all best wishes are sent your way.

Sandy, did you stay awake through the Super Bowl? I was a bit jealous that I was not invited to any of my friends’ parties but as it turns out, they are all moaning today of what a bad time they had. Horrible game, bad halftime show and so-so commercials. At least misery loves company right? I was happy at home. I just get kind of blue when I am left out of things but then pretty much always am pleased to be home and doing something so consider interesting.

Hello Diane, Karen, Marie and everyone I may have missed.

    Hugs all round.

Happy Monday! :) Thanks for all the nice compliments on my hair, it takes a few days to get the way I want but I am liking it now. I won $125 on one of the pools for the game so that went right into my Hawaiian fund. It was a boring game and too noisy in the room to hear the TV's. I think I prefer staying home but will see next year. I slept at my friend's house on their couch so not really rested today. Her husband made all kind of noise making coffee and then their robot cleaner started cleaning the floors. I tried to take a nap when I got home but I do not nap well.
Tomorrow weather permitting I am going to go for my drivers license so I hope I pass.

Have a good day everyone, I think I will watch some TV on the couch and see if I can doze off.

In a miserable mood today; everything that could go wrong , did! Missed dinner trying to get my computer functioning again after cleanig out the cach and cookies etc, so I could see SANDY's posts. Didn't work. And had to reset everything in order for sites to open. Then I received a lovely card from JacquieLawson (from my cousins) commemorating Mike's birthday and I understood my day!!! Well, I did get the computer working again (still no SANDY!) and I'm thoroughly exhausted and feeling depleted, but somehow better. Gone, but never forgotten!

Buzz - thanks for the kind words. As for Sandy I wonder if you inadvertently hit IGNORE on her name. I see that is an option now. I thought of you the other day when I was replying to a post and then lost it. LOL I still do that all the time.

Sandy - why do you have to do your drivers license. Age? Good luck.

Lin - thank you. I’m at 10,177 right now. Motivated again and my foot is much better. My foot is the main thing as I don’t have much trouble with motivation to get in my daily steps. Your weather doesn’t sound too good.

Patsy - our doctor retired a couple of years ago as well and I really miss him. Even though the young man we have now is easy to get into he doesn’t have the experience to deal with issues I would like. I was just telling Ed today how I miss the doctor because if I wanted a referral to a specialist he knew the good doctors to send me to. He was really well liked as well and I could often get in pretty quick. Oh well at least the young man we have now is easy to get into and that is a nice change.

Jackie - thinking about you and your surgery, good luck.

Anne - Glaf you are having nice weather.

I had radiation therapy on my hands and feet today and will have it every day this week. I think I mentioned earlier that I had Dupuytrens disease and that is the treatment I’m using right now.

    Time to run. Cheers

    Jeri

BUZZ, Jeri's mentioned the ignore button pressed inadvertently if you had been looking to send SANDY a message. That's exactly what I meant earlier because I'd done it once. Press SANDYs avatar and go into her message box. It reads:

SEND A MESSAGE (green background box)...............IGNORE (green background box)

Press the ignore box and she should come back. Now to get out of her box press the cross at the right hand top......not the "ignore" again which seems the logical thing to do.
Hope she does come back and good luck.!!!!!!!!!!!
    Anne.
I've just been into your box and see it shows you are missing about 19 comments which you have in fact actually posted.

I've just made "Pasta with lemon cream sauce, asparagus and peas". Had a sneak preview taste and it tastes delicious! This is in keeping with the new Canadian food guidelines, which in all honesty are pretty much as I eat anyway! Loads of veggies, pasta, fish once a week, 1.5 eggs a week and red meat twice a week. I gave up red meat years ago, but otherwise everything is as normal for me. No hardship for this old gal. Now - how to convince Michael when he comes over for lunch?

It's starting to cool down again after temps in the fifties yesterday. LIN is my weather forecaster, whatever she gets we are sure to follow a couple of days later.

I guess we won't hear from JACKIE tomorrow, her big day. So all good wishes sent, and a sincere hope for a very speedy recovery Jackie. Anne. xxxxx
