One girl is going home by plane today. At airport waiting for her to board. On SnapChat she was insulting and making fun of me, and spreading false harmful claims about Em. Em saw that on the third girls phone and broke down in tears and anger. The girl denied it. Em read it allowed. I said it is fine to have your opinion but clearly that sounds like you don’t want to be here. She agreed she wanted to go home. I contacted parents and now were at the airport. Everyone is getting along fine...but this will defuse the whole situation. One of my LA friends is going to Santa Barbara with us, and another is going to Knotts Berry Farm with us. Tired.
    Hi Val
I am sorry to hear that, Social Media actually seems to be creating less civility.

I'm sure You will enjoy Santa Barbara and Knotts Berry Farm.

    Enjoy

Enjoy the humor I just posted.

    Hi
I'm back from walking and 1cent that I spotted laying in a crack, It blended in due to some discoloring and I was lucky enough to see the round shape and look closer. The Temperature out the door was 75degrees and It was sort of comfortable when the breeze blew. Sadly it was intermittent. It rained off and on during the morning then cleared up for the balance of the day. More rain is forecast for Tuesday thus we do not need to water until Thursday if the forecast holds.

    Good morning!

I am glad you do not have to water and you were able to get out and walk. A good habit!!

I bypassed many goodies but still went over my calories for Sunday. Church and small group make it hard on the same day! I am happy to do better today! :)

Val, I am so sorry that happened to Em. I think you handled it brilliantly. I would really be ashamed if I was that girl's parents. What is wrong with people anyway... I cannot fathom someone even doing that! I am glad the rest of the vacation is going well. I really enjoy the pictures as I have never been to that part of the country. Thanks for sharing them. <3

It rained a little Sunday and we needed it. Some places really got torrential rain, but we had just enough. We did have some spectacular and dangerous lightning however...

Hope to get a few things done this week, but I am always tired due to Sunday on Monday. It tends to be a down day, lol...

Headed for humor! Be conscientiously aware of what we eat today! This said more for me than anyone! :D Jan

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The Temperature out the door was 80 degrees and It was not comfortable even when the breeze blew. There is rain and thunderstorms in the forecast for later today.

    Hello!

I did indeed get up in time to make it to my small little women's group at Panera. And I was good and did not get the 400 calorie cookie I usually get, nor the almost 500 calorie scone. I got a fresh fruit cup and it was delicious, almost as good as the cookie. Well, not! But I did feel lighter after. I can not understand how the calorie count is so high for Panera's products. Even putting in the calorie count from scratch using cream, real butter, sugar covered fruits ect, I can not get as many calories as they say is in their pastries, or soups. It is very weird. I have done better the last few days finally. I could not get going after a few bad days, more than I cared to count! But did! :s

I think I will skip the mirror that tells me my faults...that is a no brainer. When I first moved to Al. it took about 1.5 to 2 hours for a licence renewal. Long line, no seating. Now it is about 15 minutes, too. They have several satellite stations in the county and renewal by mail also. The original place is still slow as molasses. I had to go there for my passport and changes for my divorce papers and you could age and die there.... :/ Poor SF is getting the tar beat out of their reputation lately. It does not seem like a place you would want to live or visit anymore!...I also may wait on that "space travel" till it is perfected more. :* I noticed no prices were down for it! Only gov't elect and celebrities will be able to afford it, as well as the occasional millionaire!

It is actually a little drier and more pleasant today. We had no rain but it was very cloudy and kept us in the mid 80's....Nice! ...Thanks for the humor!! ..Jan

I’m with Jan. No thanks for a mirror pointing out flaws. I already know. Yesterday we went to Knotts Berry Farm. The girls took a nap in the afternoon heat while I visited with a dear friend for an awesome 3-hour talk. Then the girls and I went back to the park and rode everything they wanted until it closed. I chose Knotts over Disneyland based on cost and crowds. We stayed at the Knotts hotel so even though I was tired, it was easy to stay to the end because it was a quick walk “home.” Today drove to Tucson AZ. 108 degrees. Today I skipped the sude-trip to red rock due to heat and a blister and overall wear on the travelers. I planned fewer things on the return trip because I knew we’d be more weary...and i was right. I’m so glad the ither girl went home. Total peace and happiness even with heat and long car ride. Tomorrow we go to White Sands National Park, then the next day we go home!!!

    Hi Jan
    Congratulations on resisting temptation

Unless You have their recipe it is hard to say, I suspect some hidden source of calories. Three of their scones and a fruit cup and I would be done for the day as well as feeling it.

Many commercial foods lead to cravings due to the ingredients in them, IMO and being a bit conspiratorial minded by design.

It is nice when they can speed things up like that. In years past any visit to the DMV was good for a few hours lost.

Then some years back they streamlined things and it is much better now. The longest one is if You are renewing Your Drivers License and it is due for a new picture.

Back years ago I visited SF and it was nice, These days I do not think I want to go to live or visit. I blame liberal non solutions to homelessness. New York City has had some issues with Homeless people attacking people that were just going about their daily routine. Part of the blame for that lies with mayor's decision to not tackle quality of life issues, Those are important issues :(

I'm sure I'll be able to blast off into space using my Social Security Money

It was much better here today with lowered humidity also.

    Have a Nice Day

    Hi Val
I have to wonder how vain someone would have to be to want a mirror like that ?

I am curious was the Knotts Hotel reasonably priced ?
It does indeed sound like a great way to get the most out of Your Visit.

I am guessing that the visit to the White Sands Missile Range Museum and Trinity Site, the place where the first atomic bomb was tested in 1945 is on your agenda. I would love to do that, However I suspect that my traveling days are over as I am now a Homebody person.

Finding a beat up penny or a new one is still good whichever it is! :)

It was less humid and cooler a little today too. Cloud cover. I went to lunch with a friend and got grilled seafood. I am proud of myself! Even with 1/2 cup of cheese grits and 3 hush puppies and green beans I still have calories for supper, and a few left over. Yes, it was a miracle!

I had to look real close to be sure it was a penny as it had been beat up by cars driving over it.

Hi. Day before yesterday was just a long drive from LA to Tucson. Then yesterday a nice drive to White Sands. We didn’t have time for the space museum or the observatory. We went to White Sands National Park in the afternoon and again in the evening for the Sunset Stroll (ranger-led program). It was beautiful! Today...long drive home plus we lose an hour (crossing time zones).
