    Good morning!!

I do not remember 13 Ghosts. I was only around 7 so I guess I could not watch it?

Cold and wet here. We have had like 4 inches of rain in the last few days and it is still raining. It is turning colder with frost and freezing for the next few days. I guess I am ready!! :|

My grow lights seem to be working. I am glad about that! I brought my clematis in the pot in because it looked cold in the wind the other day. :# I am not sure if I should just leave it in to get a stable start for spring or put it in the cold frame and plastic with the other outside plants, lol... :#

I did wake up early and went to Panera with my group. We were there by 7 am. It is tempting and not keto friendly at all. I had some coffee and fresh fruit, about a cup full which put me at 20 grams alone, so I will be over a little today I am sure. But it was the least of the carbs as the greek yogurt has granola in it. They are healthy if I just watch my carbs the rest of the day!!

Roger did you lose enough to eat well on Thanksgiving? I would eat either way!!

Stay warm and dry all!!!! ...Jan

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and No Money found. The Temperature out the door was 32 degrees. Today's forecast is for the northern half of NJ to start as a wet snow and rain in the southern part. The Snow is supposed to turn to rain at some point.

    Hi Jan
I think was back before the rating system and before it was really needed

It was a free showing and I suspect that it was a older movie when I saw it. I think that must have been in 1958 or 1959.

You could have wrapped the Clematis in a landscape fabric that breathes and used leaves from the yard as insulation.

I think You did real good at Panera given the foods they sell.

Thanksgiving, Ha I seem to be going 2 steps forward and 1.9 steps back with my Diet.
Like You say I will be eating on Thanksgiving no matter what.

I saw bad weather for much of the eastern seacoast in last nights weather forecast. Stay Warm and Dry.

As long as the power stays on with the weather arriving later on I will be happy

    Hi
I'm home and did not go walking as I suspect my brother will want to shovel this very heavy wet snow. Just in case I did not drink all of yesterdays coffee and will heating it up in a minute. The Temperature out the door is 35 degrees. Yesterday's forecast was for the northern half of NJ to start as a wet snow and rain in the southern part. The Snow is supposed to turn to rain at some point, that happened much later than was forecast and the snow out my windows that should have been washed away is still out there slowly going away in a slushy mess. I did manage to sleep in later than usual so that's to the good.

According to this mornings news some students were stuck in school overnight. Yesterdays rush hour traffic was horrendous with normally 15 minute drives taking 5+ hours.

    Good morning!!

Hardly anyone is out today! That's the South. A big chill and we all stay warm and tucked in at home! It is kind of funny!!

I do not envy you that wet heavy snow!! That is miserable and hard to shovel!! Be careful and you all don't over do!! The sun finally came out this morning after about a week absence! It was pretty cold last nite, with the wind chill, in the upper 20's and very low 30's. It is almost noon and still chilly- not sure we will make it into the 50's as the weather people suggest..

What a commute nightmare you all were having. I would hate to be stuck at school!! Whether a student, but most ly as a teacher. That is one long day!! Too long!!

So glad the mule got out of the pool. Hope he gets to his owner. I can not wrap my head around still over 600 people missing from that fire. No words..

Hope you have a great trip and Holiday, Val! <3

And a good week-end!! Stay warm!!! Jan

Hi. Roger, what a ridiculous commute 5 hours vs 15 minutes. I’ve been in that before. Be safe when shoveling! Jan - southerners really do hybernate at any sign of winter! The work Thanksgiving was nice. But 1/3 of the office had been layed off, and 1/3 was on business travel. So it was a much smaller group than normal. Wednesday i was given a task due 11/30. The other two business units had teams of people workbon the same task for more than a year! I get one week (plus my vacation). My boss did finally approve something I requested months ago. Instead of just fixing everything, when people needed a certain thing...i made them go to my boss for approval. After 15 requests in one month...he asked me how we can make that stop! HA! Just approve my earlier request! He said yes...in writing! Sigh. Enough whining...i need to do yard work thenni need to pack! Well, the snow shovel and ice scrapers snd snacks and coats are in the car! Talk to ya later. ❤️ Val

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and 10 cents found breaking a streak of nothing found. The Temperature out the door was 37 degrees. Friday was a weird day with Thursdays snow having turned to rain and then after I would normally have been home it turned back to snow for a while. If You are wondering why I stayed indoors Friday, The streets were covered with wet slush and I could see myself being hit by slush thrown by passing cars. Southern NJ only had rain and wind. We got it all here.

Some of the leaves are tough. There were lots of broken off branches and uprooted trees due to certain species that still had lots of leaves and the snow built up on the leaves and branches and down they went. Tough on the people whose cars and houses had trees fall on them.

    Hi Jan
It was not that bad with two of us shoveling, the problem was not being able to pick up much per shovelful due o the weight. The darn things are plastic and I don't want to break one or overload myself

That is not a nice wind chill, I suspect many were not ready for it ?
We are having weird weather IMO, Friday was rain into snow into full sun and then cloudy with no sun showing all in one day

I saw one report that it took a women 9 hours to go 10 miles to pick up her son at daycare, 1AM arrival with other kids still waiting, such bad traffic.

Some of the Missing are just out of communication, some may be injured and some sadly passed on.
I'm not sure if it was due to a late evacuation order or delaying their leaving, We will never know.

    Hi Val
I am so happy I was able to stay indoors and look outside and not have to be in the weather.
Is Your company healthy ? It sounds disorganized TBH, Laying off 1/3 of a workforce does not sound like a good thing to me, what do I know OTOH.

Are You going to be able to get that task done by the 30th ?

That is one way to work the system to get what is needed, 15 requests

You Said "snow shovel and ice scrapers snd snacks and coats are in the car" And Snacks or Sand plus snacks ? A bag of coarse sand can be helpful if You get stuck on ice.

Hurray for finding 10 cents. You’d gone to long without. We made it from San Antonio TX to Blytheville AR. My sandbag is safely in San Antonio. If needed I’ll pickup some salt from autozone. Long day, lots of aggressive traffic plus construction detours. Not our usual uneventful drive. The company didn’t lay off 1/3 of the whole company, just from the local office. They are concentrating people in the DC area. I’m tuckered out.

Hope the rest of your drive is not as crazy!! At least you can hang out with your friends and enjoy Thanksgiving and leave work behind..at least till you get home!! People called me all day and then I shopped. I would have loved to have gotten out in the yard, but it did not happen. It would have been a pretty day for it. I did get out to throw May the ball twice so that counted! She is tuckered out and snoozing deeply already at 8 pm. Slower progress on keto this week. I do not have my ratios quite right the last week. I had a taste for scallops tonite but did not realize there were so many carbs..a little over there..I had too much protein and too little fat, lol.. I may need to make a plan up in advance. Or follow one for a week or two . Always something!! :#

It was a bit of a dry spell, I hope the money drought is over, OTOH I would not bet on it...
A bag of salt is good too. The only problem I have with salt in the trunk is if it leaks, The salt could corrode the inside of the trunk and some cars the floor of the trunk is the top of the Gas Tank.

IMO Construction delays often lead to aggressive driving by idiots trying to make up the time :(
People hate getting behind me, I come to a full stop at read lights or Stop signs, look and then decide if it is safe to go.

Is that a good Thing or not the concentration in DC ? Also unless the office space was overcrowded will they be paying extra rent for unneeded floor space ? I hope they do not try and shift You east, DC rents are terrible unless You look at places no one would want to live.

    45-Minute Roast Turkey

Melina Hammer for The New York Times

In 2002, Mark Bittman published this revolutionary approach to roasting the Thanksgiving turkey, which allows you to cut the cooking time of the average turkey by about 75 percent while still presenting an attractive bird. Simply cut out the backbone — or ask your butcher to do it for you — and spread the bird out flat before roasting, a technique known as spatchcocking that is commonly used with chickens. Roasted at 450 degrees, a 10-pound bird will be done in about 45 minutes. Really. It will also be more evenly browned (all of the skin is exposed to the heat), more evenly cooked, and moister than birds cooked conventionally

Was the shortfall of food that low ? I would not have bothered TBH
After overeating for lunch yesterday I skipped Dinner.

If Christmas shopping is not yet started it will definitely start on Black Friday, That is a day I intend to be a homebody.

You are likely to stay warmer too, We are heading into a stretch of colder and colder weather culminating in real well below normal weather for Thanksgiving.

I might have posted the sunspot news with a different link and that might be where You saw it.

Good Luck with the running around
    Roger

We got to Indiana yesterday and have been enjoying visiting. Only worked 1/2 day today. It’s going to be tough to balance. But on driving days, I can’t work because on the road 10-12 hours. Hope you are both having a great week.
