    Good evening;
Vix-Have a nice night out. I agree with Roger on your 2 lbs. being water weight. I am always
up a few after eating out.
Roger-good that you found a free program to adjust the volume. It would be a pain to have to keep raising and lowering the volume.
Irene-I hope you got your walk around the lake. It was cold and windy here today.
I got the christmas tree out of the attic, now all we have to do is decorate it. My daughter is coming over tomorrow to bake, so maybe she will help me.
    Have a good evening. :)

    Hi Joanne
It is a nuisance to adjust or check the levels of everything, However it makes life easier in the long run as some of the Music and Old Time Radio recordings are very soft until I do that.

Our tree is on top of the Cabinets over the Washer & Dryer. It is time to bring it down and decorate it and that will let me hang the lighted window decorations up too.

    Have a Nice Day

    Good morning!
You're all doing so well with your walking (and congrats on being able to kneel again, Irene!)
Thanks, I know the gain is mostly fluid, but 2 nights out in a row is definitely a couple pounds up. I had such a great time (it was my b-day weekend). And after my dental surgery Monday, I'll be on soft food for a week, so probably will get the weight back down. Starting on antibiotics today.
Jo, hope the cyst and rash is going away, and that you're feeling better. Have fun baking and decorating. :)
Roger, those old time shows are so much fun. My Dad was friends with Dinah Shore when he was at school in Atlanta (back in the old old days). He used to tell me stories when I was young, we would watch the Dinah Shore Chevy Show...haha...do you remember that?
    Happy Sunday, everyone.

    Good morning;
    It is snowing lightly here.
Irene-It is great that you can kneel again.
Vix-Happy Birthday! I knew it was in Dec, but thought it was the 7th. Then I looked at my calendar and realized that the 7th is your Anniversary.
I am glad you had a good weekend. Good luck with the dental surgery today.
Roger-Did you get your tree down and decorated. Mine is all decorated. I have a pre-lit one,so all I had to do is put on the topper and some ornaments.
Today is laundry, errands, writing out Christmas cards and light house cleaning.
My cyst is going down and my arm looks a lot better. It is still a little tender, but getting better every day.

    Hi
Today it was showing 38 degrees 3 degrees cooler than yesterday, Fortunately the overnight rain has died down so it was comfortable. I have walked 5.5K steps so far. I will be walking up to the Post Office to mail a package to my Sister using a Medium flat rate box and that will finish mt goal in steps. Yesterday I ended the day at 10.5K steps.

No Way would I go on some of these :)

    Hi Irene
Congratulations on finding some money and especially on the Knee's improvement, Being able to go 10K steps and Kneel in church is awesome.
I am sure You were wondering if it was worth having the knee done now and then. Now You are starting to reap the rewards.

    Hi Again
Well it did drizzle on me for part of the walk, however not enough to make me pull the folding umbrella out of my pocket :) I had thought about the rain gear and after getting up and watching the weather radar on News12 I decided against it as that showed the rain had moved out to the east of me. I am surprised You were still having rain. I was out the door at 6:10AM :)

I might have been thinking of the song "Singing in the Rain" form a MGM musical.

FWIW if You are curious "The Dinah Shore Chevy Show • January 10, 1960 • In Color"

Christmas Cake, Is it only the decorations or the flavor?
We generally have home made Pie and Brownies etc.

    Hi Vix
Oh Boy, He says, tongue in cheek, An Ice Cream Diet :)
I though I would be up from the Thanksgiving day feasting followed by Thai Food two days later, however as of this morning I am only 1/2 pound up from my lowest weight and lower that Thanksgiving Mornings weight so I know You can do it too.

I do remember watching the Dinah Shore Show back when I was in 4th or 5th grade when visiting my Grandparents.
One of the things that sticks in my mind is this "See the USA in Your Chevrolet by Dinah Shore"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhR8GZ_WWMM
I wish I had that Car too.
I did link a show with her above, Lots of neat videos on YouTube to balance out the crud :)

    Hi Joanne
I did not get the tree down as my Safety net, My Brother, was out for the day with friends. I did not feel that it was super safe reaching over the washer & Dryer and pulling down the Tree and decorations.
It is also a pre-lit tree that just needs to be unfolded and decorated.

I still need to find my Christmas Addresses :( I have cards and stamps, just no addresses.
Yesterday I wrapped the 2nd half of my sisters Christmas and my Brothers and that pretty much finishes my wrapping early.

Yesterday I Vacuumed, Vacuum sealed the Pork Rolls so they would be ready to ship, Addressed the Boxes for my Sister, Etc.
I say boxes as the Gift and Pork Roll are in a smaller box that fits inside of the Flat Rate Box, I addressed it too, just in case. This morning I burned four DVDs to ship to my Sister too, Various Family Vacations and Get togethers that I converted to DVD & BluRay format from VHS tapes.

Almost time to go finish my Breakfast. So far I have had a smallish Banana & a NS Coffee Protein Shake. Next is two Shredded Wheat with 1% milk 50 Calories worth of milk and sweetener. I do spread Breakfast out that way from 6AM Banana, 8AM Protein Shake and 9:30 Breakfast NS Entree or Assorted Cereals. Currently I have 5 different cereals that I use in rotation.

Congratulations on the Cyst is going down and getting better daily

Thanks, everyone....got all the celebrating in over the weekend. Got some pain pills for after the surgery so will be having a slow week. And antibiotics for 2 weeks. haha...no parties.
Thanks for posting those old clips, Roger...funny what we used to watch. You're doing great maintaining your low weight. (I'm up about 5...not for long)
Jo, so glad you're doing better. Snow! I know it's December, but I never seem ready for snow yet.
Irene, I think sometimes our bodies need to take a break and maintain for a while. :)
I'm keeping decorations to a minimum this year. So far just put electric candles in our front windows and a lighted wreath on the door. Very simple.

    Simple is good :)

Hopefully You will not need the pain pills

    Hi Joanne
I did drive down the keys one vacation when they were still using the old converted Railroad bridges. That one did not bother me, Some of the others, no way !
I also do not like heights, about two rungs on a ladder is it for me :)

The scariest looking bridges to me were the one in Costa Rica, Cambodia, Pakistan, China, and India....mostly because they look weak or like they're falling apart! I don't mind heights so much if it's secure.

    Good morning.
Thanks, Irene. I'm doing pretty well. Taking antibiotics and switched from the strong pain pills to ibuprofen today. I may even go to clay group this morning. I put ice on my face last night and luckily there is no bruising and only slight swelling. I am so glad it's done. Back for a follow up on 12/15. Sounds like you're almost back to 100%....Yay! :)
Cloudy here today. I had a Greek yogurt for breakfast (it's a treat because I haven't been eating dairy). So, all is well.
    Enjoy your day. :)

I never liked crossing the GW Bridge or the Verrazano Bridge when traffic was heavy. When You are siting there on the bridge You can feel it bouncing from the traffic on the other side.

I walked up to the Post Office and mailed off the the second half of the Christmas Gifts for my Sister. I included a Frozen Pork Roll that I had Vacuum sealed in the package as that taste of NJ is not available out in Washington State.

The ABC world news last night had a segment that about La Z Boy recliners made in the USA. From their website
Born and Built in the USA
Our innovative spirit started over 85 years ago with the all-American invention of the world's first reclining chair. And while we're proud of our past, today La-Z-Boy is focused on the future and committed to moving this iconic brand forward - right here on American soil. With the corporate headquarters still based in Monroe, Michigan, five U.S. manufacturing plants, six distribution centers and nearly 111 company-owned retail stores, La-Z-Boy employs more than 6,300 people nationwide in the pursuit of comfortable, long-lasting furniture. So not only can you feel good about your furniture, you can feel good about where it's made. And, with our famous limited lifetime warranty, you can rest assured, with La-Z-Boy furniture, you'll have comfort that lasts.

I have it looked up and will look at it later.

Congratulations on getting Your steps in

Vix-I am glad you made it through your dental surgery and are not in too much pain.
    Irene-the christmas cake sounds yummy.
Roger-I bought a lazy boy chair when I first got married. I ended up giving it to my sister
about 10 years later. I am not sure how long she had it for. They are pretty durable.
I picked up a few stocking stuffers while I was out yesterday and a few gift cards. I just have to get a few more things and I am done.

    Hi
Out the door it was showing 39 degrees, A little breeze so it was more or less comfortable. I have walked 9,053 steps. It rained overnight where I am, Much of NJ had around 8/10 inch of rain and in the Northwest corner snow up to 3+ inches. The possibility of snow to the north of me came true :)

I mailed the first three Christmas Cards this morning too.

    Have a Great Wednesday

How To Drive In Jersey and Stay Alive

Seriously, there are only two things needed to drive effectively in NJ: A horn and a middle finger. Everything else is superfluous, including knowing where you are going.

For those of you who live in Jersey or have lived there, these things may come as no surprise. For those who haven't traveled there before, Beware, Be Prepared and Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid.

    1. You must first learn to pronounce the city name, it is Nork - rhymes with Fork, not New-ark. Also, Trenton is not pronounced Tren-ton, it is Trent-in.

    2. The morning rush hour is from 5 AM to NOON. The evening rush hour is from NOON to 7 PM. Friday's rush hour starts on Thursday morning.

    3. The minimum acceptable speed on the turnpike is 85 mph. On the parkway it's 105 or 110. Anything less is considered "Sissy.." (Just ask the former Governor of NJ)

    4. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Jersey has its own version of traffic rules. For example, cars/trucks with the loudest muffler go first at a four-way stop; the trucks with the biggest tires go second; However, in Monmouth and Burlington counties, SUV-driving/cellphone-talking moms ALWAYS have the right of way.

    5. If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear ended, cussed out, and possibly shot.

    6. Never honk at anyone. EVER! Seriously. It's another offense that can get you shot.

    7. Road construction is permanent and continuous in all of Jersey. Detour barrels are moved around for your entertainment pleasure during the middle of the night to make the next day's driving a bit more exciting.

    8. Watch carefully for road hazards such as drunks, skunks, dogs, cats, barrels, cones, celebrities, rubber-neckers, shredded tires, cell-phoners, deer and other road kill, and the homeless feeding on any of these items.

    9. MapQuest does NOT work here -- none of the roads are where they say they are or go where they say they do and all the Turnpike EZ Pass lanes are moved each night once again to make your ride more exciting.

    10. If someone actually has their Turn Signal ON, wave them to the shoulder immediately to let them know it has been "accidentally activated."

    11. If you are in the left lane and only driving 70 in a 55-65 mph zone, you are considered a road hazard and will be "flipped off" accordingly. If you return the flip, you'll be shot.

    12. Do not try to estimate travel time -- just leave Monday afternoon for Tuesday appointments, by noon Thursday for Friday appointments, and right after church on Sunday for anything on Monday morning.

    SAFE DRIVING!

    :)

    Hi all.
    Thanks, Irene. :) 41 years!
Thanks, Jo, I am feeling much better.
That's funny about driving in NJ, Roger. Haha. I grew up in Nutley...I remember that.
Not doing much today. Just went over some insurance stuff and signed up for dental insurance. Never had it before, but I figured with all the problems I'm having lately, it might be a good idea. Will probably go out and do a little more shopping later. Quiet day.
Have a great day everyone. :)
