Roger that is so funny. Vix glad you are feeling good . Wow 41 years that is awesome . I am pretty much done with christmas shopping yesterday when I was out I did pick up some stuff for George so he would have something to open we are spending so much on the house that we talked and decided not to go crazy on Christmas gifts the only thing I need to pick up is a toy for Annie which I will probably pick up on Friday.I did get to the post office and mailed our presents to our family so that is done so my list is getting smaller.

    Hi all.
    Thanks, Irene. :) 41 years!
Thanks, Jo, I am feeling much better.
That's funny about driving in NJ, Roger. Haha. I grew up in Nutley...I remember that.
Not doing much today. Just went over some insurance stuff and signed up for dental insurance. Never had it before, but I figured with all the problems I'm having lately, it might be a good idea. Will probably go out and do a little more shopping later. Quiet day.
Have a great day everyone. :)
    Hi Vix
    41 Years, Wow!

Just curious is the Dental insurance costly?

The dental insurance is kind of expensive, but my dental work lately has been really costly. The bones in my jaw are wearing, and I have some old dental work that may need to be updated/replaced soon, like old bridges and crowns. My periodontist is covered by the insurance. And it also covers some out of network, so I can get reimbursed for my regular dentist. If I were just getting regular checkups and cleaning, it wouldn't be worth it.
    Have a good night.

Roger normally we spend money on gifts for each other but this year we are cutting back I do have a few thing for George but not a lot. Today I need to go back to target I picked up new lamp shades but they are too big so I figured I better return them before I get too busy. Jo how is everything going with you?

    Good morning.
Sounds like you're back to your regular walking routine, Irene...that's great. Your furniture shopping sounds like fun. Hope you are enjoying that. :)
I have painting class this morning, then need to run errands this afternoon, and get some things ready. Our annual holiday trip to grandma's is this weekend.
Have a great day, everyone. :)

    Hi
Out the door it was showing 36 degrees, It was more or less comfortable. I had a brainstorm yesterday, Well maybe it was a brain drizzle, I checked out a new route to walk for distance using Map My Run and walked it today. It is further than my usual walk and I went through two other towns doing it for a total of three towns walked in today. I have walked 11,744 steps.

Colder weather is moving in during the overnight hours with forecast overnight lows in the 20s, breezy and daytime highs in the 30s :(
That is why I extended my walking today in case I cut it short tomorrow and Saturday. I am also thinking of stopping for a breakfast of a couple of Scrambled Eggs and Dry toast as much to warm up as to have breakfast.

The Heron was flying up the brook today as I walked past and it is a pretty sight flying.

All I have left for flowers from the yard is the hanging basket we planted with Geraniums and that because it is on the closed in front porch sheltered.

    Hi Vix
I had a suspicion that You might think of that however I could not resist.

FWIW Between the extra distance walked and then running out to the Ford dealership twice with my brother to look at a F150 I am now at 13,567 steps and the day is not done for another 5+ hours :) It is easier to go that distance when it is spread out over several jaunts out the door.

Good Luck with the Dental Insurance

That's pretty unusual that all 3 of us have been married that long. :) I am skipping the gym again today. I think it will be better for healing. I have a massage appt this afternoon and an acupuncture appt. And I have some other things to take care of this morning. We'll be going to visit my MIL tomorrow, so I probably won't be here.
Have a great day and a great weekend, everyone. :)

    Hi
Out the door it was showing 32 degrees, It was less comfortable than yesterday too due to the wind chill. I have walked 7,264 steps as of 8AM. Yesterday I was at 13,567 by 5PM :) so If I miss a few steps today I am not going to worry about it.

Colder weather is moving in with forecast overnight lows in the 20s for Saturday, breezy and daytime highs in the 30s :(. I am also thinking of stopping for a breakfast on Saturday of a couple of Scrambled Eggs and Dry toast as much to warm up as to have breakfast. I did not stop today, as tomorrow is supposed to be colder.

The Mechanic did give an OK on the pickup truck and it still needs to have four tires put on it which we could tell looking at it. At 80K miles and a lot less money than a newer one with twice the mileage he decided on to grab it. Has has been looking for a Ford P/U with room behind the seat for groceries so this on will work nicely. His 99 Taurus needs replacing despite still running good due to our mechanic saying You need to replace it due to all the rust. The same reason I had to replace my Pontiac FWIW.

    Have a Great Friday

That mean that both You and Irene are ahead of me finding money this week :)

I do the best I can, I did want to get extra steps in while the weather was better and it looks like I made the right choice as I do not expect to hit 10K steps today :(

You are doing better than I on this cold and breezy day.
Plus You found another penny, You are doing much better than I this week.

It sounds as if You are doing really well walking now that the knee is better.

Do You look for bargains at the ShopRite? The other day my brother picked up a large bag of Tangerines or clementines, I forget TBH for $1.02 as a Managers special. I did find one so far that had started to spoil as he suspected I would however at $1.02 for several pounds I could lose 1/2 of them and still be ahead.

I still need to remember where the rest of my addresses are for Christmas Cards so I can finish doing them.

Have fun shopping and good luck getting rid of the cough

I do not find it unusual TBH. My Parents, Grandparents and all of our relations tend to stay married. I know that is not the norm these days sadly.

Enjoy the Massage and good luck at the acupuncturist

    Good afternoon,
Vix-Enjoy your weekend visiting your MIL. I hope you don't run into any snow. Do you go for the massage after or before acupuncture?
Irene-You seem to be doing good with the knee. Are you planning on going back to work?
Roger-You are braver than I. I do not like walking in the cold.
I am going to get a haircut today. I had an appointment on Wed, but my hairdresser had to cancel due to illness. It is later than I normally go, so I don't expect to get home until after 6pm.
Enjoy your evening and stay warm. :)

    Hi
Out the door it was showing 26 degrees, It was semi-comfortable. The forecast breeze has not shown up yet. I have walked 7.9K steps. The forecast for Sunday and Monday is not looking that good either.

A message just popped up that says
A restart is required to finish installing the following updates:
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3201845).
    and that
Your device is scheduled to restart outside of active hours. (Active hours are ‏‎8:00 AM to ‏‎5:00 PM.)

    Hi Joanne
I am not braver, I just feel that I need to get out every day as the balance of the day is spent sitting or sleeping overnight and Getting up and around is recommended. My plan is to collect Social Security for longer than I contributed to it :)

That is one advantage of going to a barber shop like I do, You just go and if someone is ahead of You sit and wait, no appointment needed.

I suspect Vix will be fine as the forecast for my area which is likely similar to hers is for Snow moving in Sunday afternoon or evening into Monday. That may keep me in the house Monday morning if I look outside and the weather is bad.

    Enjoy The Day
    Roger

I was back out and am now at 11K steps myself at 4PM :)

That is what they say about the 4K TV sets. I myself have just finished transitioning to Regulat HDTV due to the last of the SDTVs dying. The other thing they are now pushing is the curved screens.

    Good Luck with Your shopping

    Hi
Out the door it was showing 25 degrees, It was not that comfortable, It felt colder than yesterday despite there being only 1 degree colder. The forecast is for Snow moving in later today in the afternoon or evening and turning to rain for Monday. I have walked 8.6K steps.

Yesterday evening we finished the first batch of Fruit Cakes by taking the previously prepared Fruit part of the recipe and Mixing it into the dry ingredients and baking them. They have already been Spritzed while still warm from the oven on the cooling rack with the Brandy and again this morning when removed from the baking pans. There are 3 small loaves and 1 large loaf from this batch.

    Have a Great Sunday

I feel like a slacker next to Your step count Saturday and then Sunday Mornings cleaning too :)

I suspect I must be a cheapskate, We bought 3 different vacuum cleaners within the last year :)
One for the basement, One for the attic and one for the main floor to save lugging them up and down the stairs, lazy too?
All three Dirt Devils all at a cost of $49.99 AKA 50 dollars from the local appliance store. They were bought on different dates to spread out the expense.

good morning , shopping was good we got 2 new ones one is 55 inch and the other is a 60 one is for the living room and the other is for the tv room. We also stopped and looked at furniture but we did stop off at browns mills and measured the living room so glad we did because the furniture would of been too big so today we are going back to the furniture store and get it smaller and order it. We walked this morning wearing more clothes now winter coat gloves pull over sweath shirt but I was nice and warm. I did find 26 cents and did 8 k steps so I am doing pretty good . Wow you sure did get a lot done this morning. Roger we did see the curve tv not sure about it I guess if you are sitting right a cross from it ,it would be ok .

Good morning....wow sounds like you all have been busy over the weekend! So industrious!
We had a nice visit with my MIL and SIL. Luckily, the traffic was not bad, which is very unusual. :) We had Chinese food Saturday night which is always awful for me and hubs, but my MIL loves it and apparently waits for us to visit to get it. I guess because we order for her and pick it up! Next time, we'll just order steamed food for us.
I was happy to be home. Will probably go to the gym this morning, but not looking forward to it....haha....one week off and I've gotten lazy!
    Have a good day. :)
