Slower Weight loss at 50?

Hi
I have walked in the house a little for 2K steps and plan to do more later, I was walking slower than usual as I am still feeling poorly. I decided I needed to do some walking as I am sure You lose it when You do not do it for a few days.
The temperature was 39 degrees out the door. The previous Snowfall lingers on in the backyard where it is shaded by the house. Today's forecast of heavy rain will take care of that.
Have a Great Tuesday

Vix how are you feeling ? Jo as i have been cleaning I have been getting rid of a lot of stuff that is probably a great thing of moving I am getting rid of stuff I haven't used in years.I did get my steps in so far I have in 8500 steps in my knee did start to hurt so we had to go slower I find if it starts to hurt I just need to slow the pace down .
In some ways I am feeling worse and in some ways better. I did get a decent nights sleep even if I did sleep later or maybe due to that.
I have places I can set and rest while walking if needed that I keep in mind. I often stop for a minute, more to put down the coffee cup and clear my nose than anything else. That is pretty much impossible to do while walking with one hand holding the walking stick and the other one holding the Coffee
Congratulations on getting a good step count despite the knee starting to hurt. I often stop and talk to the crossing guards and can only stand still for so long before my knees start to stiffen up.
Have a Nice Day, Stay Dry.

Irene-good luck with the breathing test.
Vix-I am sure you enjoyed your massage. I didn't find my pants, but found the sock.
Roger-I hope you are feeling better today.
I am sitting here with a hot compress under my arm. The pimples under my arm are back.
I haven't been using any deodorant, changed laundry detergent or any thing else that I can think of. When I went to the dr. last week for a check, he said it was nothing to worry about and if it got worse he could put me on antibiotics again. I don't think that is the answer.
I am thinking I need to see a dermatologist.
Today I am running errands.
Have a great day.
Hi Joanne
Strange that You found the smaller item and not the larger one
Could it be the water or the soap used in the Tub / shower?
A dermatologist could help or maybe an allergy specialist?
Good Luck clearing it up
Roger0 -
Good morning.
Jo, does your insurance have a nurse helpline? They're usually pretty good about telling you what kind of Dr. to see, but I tend to agree with you...dermatologist, especially since it's been there before. I switched to a non-fragrance laundry detergent and dryer sheets when my husband was getting rashes...I also had started to get rashes...stopped wearing underwires in my personal wear too. That combined with the change in detergent and dryer sheets seemed to work.
Irene...good luck with your breathing test...I hope they can fix you up. You're doing great with the walking.
Roger, hope you're feeling better, kiddo.
It's a little warmer here today, but rainy/foggy/gray out. Will be playing with clay later on.
Have a great day, everyone.
My Brother also uses a Non-fragrance Laundry soap as he claims they bother him, OTOH he uses Dawn Dish soap in the Laundry
It does sound as if You found the cause in Your case and solved it.
The real rain has not moved in, Yet. According to the weather radar it is on the way.
Have a Good Day

Good morning.
Off to body flow class.

Hi
I have not walked today, I am still feeling poorly.Between the coughing and runny nose I decided I should not go infect others with whatever this is.
The temperature was 38 degrees this morning, Yesterdays forecast of heavy rain was wrong. We had intermittent light rain and that was all.
Have a Great Wednesday
Roger
Hi Vix
I shall be brief today
Enjoy the Body Flow Class

Good afternoon;
Irene-since I cut out eating candy and cookies and getting back on NS 100% I have a lot more energy. The first week was hard and I had a slight headache, but now no cravings. I hope I didn't jinx myself.
Roger-I am sorry that you are still not feeling well. It is probably better that you rest for a few days and not push yourself.
Hi Vix-You have been dashing through lately, I hope you are taking some time to slow down and relax.
It is cold and rainy here today. I good day to stay in and read, I think.

Hi all....it was a busy day. I went to the functional medicine Dr....she's giving me a prescription, but also have instructions on diet and took a test to determine food sensitivities...the results of that will be interesting. Then I went for acupuncture....had so much running through my mind it was hard to relax.
Jo, so glad NS is working for you again. It was just very overcast here today, but very mild...40s to 50s.
Irene, fun getting your nails done. Hope you're feeling better too....maybe you're just tired from all the work you've been doing in the house!
Roger...hope that weather leaves you alone and you start feeling better soon!
Have a good night, everyone.0 -

Hi Irene
And that is why I tend to believe them when they say the Sugars can be addicting I know from myself that if I eat something sweet I want more for the rest of the day.IreneMurman wrote: »good morning, Feeling a lot better started taking my vitamins again ,so hopefully it was something in my diet that I wasn't getting enough of.I couldn't fall asleep last night too much on my mind so tonight I should sleep fine. I went to the kitchen and pulled a NS Homestyle Chicken soup and a NS Chicken Noodle Soup out of the cupboard. I will be using One for my midmorning snack and one for my lunch entree. Just in case is one of the reasons I have them
IMO the only way away from Junk food cravings is the same way two family members stopped smoking, IE old Turkey, When they tried gradually reducing how many they smoked they went back to old habits pretty quick. Good Luck cutting out the Junk food. I blame the food industry for the cravings. I am 100% sure that much if not most of what we call junk food is also formulated to cause cravings for more.
FWIW I take vitamins every day despite eating three pieces of fruit a day and 12 ounces of Frozen vegetables in addition to PFs and Meal Entrees.
I am still feeling poorly, unfortunately. Wish me Luck beating this bug
Congratulations on Your Step count

Hi all. Actually the doctor explained it all and gave me some printouts. She went over my blood test results with me. (I'm still nervous about taking any medications, but if it's not helping, I can stop it....and there should be measurable results.)
Roger, hope you feel better soon. Thanks for the funnies.
Irene, glad you're feeling better.
Jo, keep up the good habits.

Good afternoon
Irene-glad you are feeling better. It is hard cutting out the junk food. I have been chewing a lot of sugarless gum.
Vix-How long do you have to wait to get the results of your test? I am keeping my fingers crossed that the diet works for you.
Roger-Chicken soup and plenty of rest and you will be back to walking soon.
I don't take vitamins because they repeat on me and sometimes upset my stomach.
Enjoy your day.0 -
Jo, I'll be going back in a month. I'm sure they'll give me the results then and set up a diet for me. It will be interesting. There's a support class next Tuesday night. I'm going to try to go to that. Mostly I'm supposed to do what I've been doing as far as diet, except add more protein and fat, cut down on legumes, maybe add in some quinoa or brown rice, and stop counting calories. I bought a box of quinoa and made enough chicken for dinner tonight that I have leftovers for lunches. I'm hoping all this works too.

Irene, it is fun getting new stuff...yay!
Roger, there are a lot of nasty bugs going around. You may want to see a doctor if it's getting worse or not going away. Hope you feel better.
Jo, you really are doing great with the diet. Is the rash any better?
I'm not so much adding starch, sort of replacing my legumes with a some grains...quinoa has a lot of protein in it, not bad...sort of tastes like rice, maybe a little nuttier. Basically adding protein. Personally, I think I get plenty of fat!
Went to zumba this morning and have a chiropractor appointment this afternoon.
Gray and drizzly here.

Good afternoon;
Roger-If you don't start to feel better soon, I think a dr. visit is advisable. Wow, that is a lot of money in unpaid tolls. I am sure you are missing your walks.
Irene-I get excited about new appliances also. I think it is the idea of getting something new.
Vix-I still have a few bumps. I am waiting to see if it goes away by itself. I am tired of going to the Dr.
Enjoy your afternoon.

Jo, I know what you mean. I hope it clears up for you. You may want to try the fragrance free detergent, if you haven't yet tried that. I was surprised it pretty much did the trick for us.

Good morning;
Vix-thanks for the tip on fragrance free detergent. I usually buy sensitive skin, but will try the fragrance free.
Roger-I hope you are feeling better today.

I lost 2 lbs. this week.

An Entire Mall in Pennsylvania Was Just Sold For $100
Zamira Rahim
Updated: Jan 19, 2017 4:39 PM UTC
A 1.1 million-square foot mall in Pennsylvania has been sold for an astonishing $100 at auction.
The Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills Mall, one of the largest in the state, was bought by Wells Fargo Bank, which foreclosed on the property last year, WPXI-TV reports. The bank was the only bidder for the property at the auction, the station reported, adding that Wells Fargo "essentially brought the mall from itself."
The mall, located about 20 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, was once worth $190 million but recently appraised at just $11 million. It was opened in 2005 after being developed by Zamias Services and Mills Corp., a Virginia firm that has since gone bankrupt.

Hi Irene
I can understand that You are excited about it. One stray thought regarding that, Once they arrive do not forget to run a couple of loads through them and of course record the Model & Serial Numbers.
I actually just transferred the Laundry from the washer to the dryer. This morning as I was putting on the clean clothes I said, Yikes, That is the last of the clean stuff excluding the socks so I washed clothes today
Congratulations on getting Your Step count and more in

Hi Vix
I am improving, I always for many years am slow recovering. I think all the sleep I have been getting has helped.
Thank You for the feedback on the Quinoa... I actually have a bag in the cupboard that my brother picked up for me to try when I said something about it during a cooking contest show. I end up with more odd items that way.
Did You put butter on it? Butter is (was) my go to with rice.Jo, I know what you mean. I hope it clears up for you. You may want to try the fragrance free detergent, if you haven't yet tried that. I was surprised it pretty much did the trick for us.

I am ambivalent regarding voice control. As I see it the possibility of loss of privacy exists. I am pretty sure that what You say gets sent to the Xfinity Mothership to be deciphered and then the results sent back. I suspect I would not just trust it to be turned off but would cover the microphone too. I have the same issues regarding the Amazon Voice controlled hardware FWIW.

River of red Skittles coats Wisconsin highway

A rain-soaked box aboard a flatbed pickup truck ruptured in Dodge County, coating a stretch of County Highway S in Beaver Dam with hundreds of thousands of red Skittles, the sheriff's office reported Wednesday.
Sheriff's deputies discovered the candy-covered roadway shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday near Blackbird Road, according to a post on the Dodge County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
The Dodge County Highway Department was called to clean up the candy-coated shells - packed with such yummy ingredients as sugar, corn syrup, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, tapioca dextrin, sodium citrate and carnauba wax - which were intended to be cattle feed because they did not make the cut for packaging, according to the sheriff's office.
As the price of corn increased in recent years, some farmers have turned to discarded food products to feed their cows.
According to a 2012 Reuters report: "In the mix are cookies, gummy worms, marshmallows, fruit loops, orange peels, even dried cranberries. Cattlemen are feeding virtually anything they can get their hands on that will replace the starchy sugar content traditionally delivered to the animals through corn."
And, apparently, that includes red Skittles.0
