    Good afternoon;
I forgot my fitbit this morning, so hardly any steps recorded for me. :'(
Irene-I bet you are glad the painting is almost done. We had a pool when we first moved to this house. It was above ground. The kids used it when they were little, but as they got older they didn't use it much. It was a lot of work for the little we used it, so we took it down and scraped the aluminium. It was a few extra dollars in our pocket.
Vix-Thanks for the info on the meat. I didn't know that about the fat. Swimming is great exercise.
Roger-I did notice about the lasagna. I like both kinds. I got my shelf stable foods today.
I counted and I have almost 2 months worth of food, so I think I will delay my next order.
    Have a good evening. :)

    Hi Joanne
I hate it when that happens, However with me it is more likely to be the battery died unexpectedly.

My best Guess is the beans are there to be the protein in that Lasagna.

Two Months of food, Is when I delay for three months since I can always move it up as needed. These days I do a automatic maximum delay for that reason. I use alternating Hot frozen breakfasts from NS and waffles and pancakes from the dollar store. Then use Cold Cereal until the quart of Dollar store milk is gone and then I switch back to the NS frozen. Call me cheap but 3 servings of tasty waffles for a dollar :)

I have also been using a mix of Smart Ones and Lean Cuisine Frozen Entrees to extend the NS Frozen Lunches and Dinners too. Some of then run from 200 calories and up so I use the low calorie ones as a Lunch.

    Have a Nice Day

good morning, had a great walk I already have in over 10 k steps but what was so cool is we found 28 cents on our walk I felt like I won the lottery ,it is always so much fun when we find change on the ground. As far as the pool we are looking into both in ground or above we aren't sure I would like to go in ground and George wants above it really depends on the price difference if we get above ground we want a deck also so when it gets closer we will be looking at both. Well I finished painting yesterday yea I am so happy it looks so nice and thank you for putting up with me talking about painting . I started to get paperwork from Amazon they want to know if I am coming back I think if they can find me a job that will be easier on my knee(no knelling) I would go back part time would be great but I don't think they have it.I go back to the DR on the 9 th so we shall see.I already went food shopping love it when I can be back home by 7:30 am so the rest of the day will just be cleaning and doing little things around the house. Vix sorry your exercise class is getting hard, but swimming sounds good. Jo you are doing great I know how you fill about leaving your fit bit at home but I think if you go on line you can actually put your steps in. Roger love the humor.

    Hi Irene
Congratulations on Your Steps and money find, I love it when I find anything too.

Benefits of a above ground pool would be it is easier to remove at a later date. Where I would expect a in ground pool to stay cooler in the summer heat. So in my mind it is 6 of one and a half dozen of the other :)

Interesting that they want to know if You are coming back.

    Have a Nice Day
    Roger

P.S. more humor going up shortly

They actually include fat in all the levels...the meat level includes meat, fish, eggs, fowl, etc. They've already told me to eat more protein and fat! (I think I eat plenty of fat already.) Vegetables like avocados and olives also have a lot of fat, as do nuts and seeds. Supposedly, grass fed meat fat is good for you.
It's gray and cold here today.

    Hi Vix
The Sun is shining and unfortunately there is a bitter feel in the air.

I do believe that eliminating all fat is not good for a person. You need fats in the diet, especially in cold weather as I understand it.

    Stay Warm

If it is that dark, I think I would play safe and wait too. Here where I am there are plenty of street lights. The problem with all the street lights is You do not see many stars at night :(

    Good morning.
Cold here too. But at last, the sun is shining. Yay!
Roger, you need fat for everything, including brain function.
Irene, your house in BM already sounds like a vacation home where you can walk to the lake. My first house in NJ was up in West Milford before it built up. It was a little house in a development of about 15 houses on the mountainside, right next door to a summer camp. There was a lake we could walk to right in the development. I always felt like that was a vacation home.
Jo, hope you get a chance to relax this weekend. I know you're supposed to work, but try to take some time for yourself.
No plans for today yet, but will get out somewhere.
    Happy Saturday! :)

    Good afternoon;
I lost another #, so that makes a grand total of 10, so far. :) I think that is a reasonable amount in a month.
Irene-I would love to live near a lake or better still, the ocean.
Roger-22 degrees is too cold for me. Congrats on getting out in the cold.
Vix-I am only working a few hours tomorrow and I have Monday off, so I will get some time to myself. I may have to take a nap tomorrow, so I will be able to stay up to watch the SuperBowl.
Hubby has a cold. This is the 3rd one he has had this winter. He is in bed now resting.
Enjoy the rest of the day and stay warm. :)

Congratulations on 10 pounds gone, Jo!!! That's great! Hope hubby feels better.
Cloudy and 31 here at the moment, but supposed to go to about 47 later, and maybe some sun, so not too bad.
Went mall walking yesterday. Will probably putter around the house today.
    Happy Sunday! :)

Study: Working More Than 39 Hours A Week Harmful To Mental Health

CANBERRA, Australia — Employers take note: having your staff work overtime could be doing more harm than good. A new study finds that working more than 39 hours a week is actually detrimental to one’s health.
Working more than 39 hours per week can pose significant health risks, especially for women, researchers found.

Published in the Social Science & Medicine journal, researchers from Australian National University compiled previously-released government data from about 8,000 employed Australian men and women aged 24 to 64.

The researchers found on average that 40 or more hours of work a week — typically considered full-time employment— can lead to mental health issues. This was especially true when combined with other commitments.

In large part due to additional time constraints, such as caregiving, it was found that the average healthy work limit for women was only 34 hours a week. For men, the limit was found to be as high as 47 hours a week.

“Given the extra demands placed on women, it’s impossible for women to work long hours often expected by employers unless they compromise their health,” lead researcher Huong Dinh told PS News.

This study helps shatter a widely-held belief that it is healthy to work up to 48 hours a week. That theory based upon an 80-year-old standard set by the International Labour Organization.

One conclusion that can be taken from the study is that women are disadvantaged in many senses in the workforce. Since they cannot work for as many hours without compromising their health, men often get better and higher paying positions.

In Australia, over 40% of employed individuals work 40-plus hours a week.

What I was thinking about with fats was that they are also essential in cold climates. Brain function sounds right too :)

The Local cable news channel showed 30 degrees this morning, OTOH the sensor in the closed in front porch showed 24 degrees which is more like what it felt like it was :(

I am still waiting to see if the Sun breaks through the clouds. OTOH at least the weather forecast for Flurries did not make it to where I am.

I suppose I could go mall walking, If I was unkind enough to make my brother drag out in the cold and move his vehicle so I could get mine out of the driveway :)

    Hi Joanne
I did see where You had lost 1.2 pounds and a total of 12 pounds on the Home page
10 pounds a month IMO is on the high side per week. One to two pounds a week is good and You have exceeded that.

I hope Your Hubby beats off the cold and avoids more this winter.

    Congratulations on the loss.

"The fats you eat give your body energy that it needs to work properly. During exercise, your body uses calories from carbohydrates you have eaten. But after 20 minutes, exercise then depends on calories from fat to keep you going.
You also need fat to keep your skin and hair healthy. Fat also helps you absorb vitamins A, D, E, and K, the so-called fat-soluble vitamins. Fat also fills your fat cells and insulates your body to help keep you warm.
The fats your body gets from your food give your body essential fatty acids called linoleic and linolenic acid. They are called "essential" because your body cannot make them itself, or work without them. Your body needs them for brain development, controlling inflammation, and blood clotting." This was from this website: https://medlineplus.gov/ency/patientinstructions/000104.htm
There's still a lot of controversial information about fats, like which ones are good for you or not. Regardless, we still need it.
Don't know whether or not we will watch the game tonight. Sort of like the Falcons, but not really into this game.

    Hi Irene
It was not that great out Saturday or Sunday for walking. I could feel the cold through the pants legs and shoes as time went on :(

I also wore many layers of clothing, I needed them and I put the Hood on the hoodie up and tied it to protect more of the face.

Good Luck at the Surgeons Thursday.
    Roger

P.S. does he do a release to work marked light duty only? They used to do that where I worked in the 80s and 90s and anyone that was released for light duty kept on collecting as they had no light duty.

    Hi Vix
As I type this I am backing up (Cloning) a friends computer that apparently has a Remote Access Trojan based on her description of the problem. Then I want to make another backup on a different drive that I am clearing off data on before using it using different Software just to be sure I have good backups. Then Switch the first backup into the computer and work on it that way.
    I know who cares, right?

I suspect I may be a little short on fat, OTOH I would think the NS foods have enough fats in them...

I suspect it may be a little late for fats to help me with brain development :)

    Have a Nice Day

Sorry about the cold, Jo, hope you both feel better soon. Congrats to your team. Have fun at Macy's. I was there on Saturday, but didn't need anything. It was fun to look around.
Roger...never too late for the brain! (I think you're supposed to get about 30% of your diet from fat, depends on what you're looking at). It was too cold in the mornings to walk around here too. It's warmer today...about 47 now...nice. I forgot how to do just about everything with computers. Hubs backs up the important things...like pictures. :)

    Good morning....another gray morning.
It got up to about 70 yesterday!
Very strange results from my food sensitivity test...a lot of things that are "healthy" that I eat all the time, have to be off my diet, at least temporarily. Will be a very limited diet for 2 weeks, then start adding things in.
Off to body flow this morning.
    Have a great day. :)
