    Hi
I was out walking today and hit 6.5K steps and The temperature was 19 degrees on the closed in front porch and that gets warmth through the walls of the house vs 43 degrees yesterday. I normally use the temperature from the local cable news channel. Today the news, time & temperature crawl is missing :(
I was wearing so many layers to keep warm I probably looked like the Michelin Man and if I had fallen would have bounced back up :)

FWIW We had 2 or 3 inches of Snow yesterday. The ground was so warm that it melted on most surfaces. There was a little accumulation on the lawns and my depth measurement was from the trunk of the car where it cooled off enough to accumulate. Today the Sidewalks and Roads were nice and dry.
They are forecasting a range of nothing to over 2 foot of snow Tuesday depending on the Storm track.

    Have a Great Saturday

It turned to all snow here, but not sticking to roads and sidewalks, so fine with me. :)
Funny video...I guess the little girl would be shocked at first, good that she could laugh about it. :)

    Hi Vix
It's funny what You think of when You see something like that. Where was the Door closing mechanism? Did it tear out of the door or ?

The sun's out here and all the snow is gone. 36 and windy. I think they're expecting more snow on Tuesday and will be fairly cold til then. Winter arrived in March!

Still some snow on the lawns, Only the lawns and no black ice on the roads despite the temperature that is supposed to get up to 29 degrees today. Some change from the other day :(

Jo, a little warmer here....20. (Still cold, but sunny.)
Need to do some chores around the house. May go out later.
    Have a great day.

Not that much warmer than I saw today and You are a fair distance to the south of me :)

I would say have a nice day, however doing chores is not that enjoyable to me.

Irene-I am not surprised that you slept that long.
It has been snowing all day. The roads and driveways are clean, but there are a couple of inches on the lawns...
    Hi Joanne
It snowed here for around 6 hours. End result was wet roads and sidewalks the dried up overnight and a little snow on the lawns that has bits of grass sticking up in places.

Currently 15 degrees and the wind is howling. We got about 3 inches of snow and with the drop in temperature I am sure everything is icy.
Roger-I saw the video of the little girl on the news. She must have been scared but it is good that she can laugh about it now.
    Have a good day.
The wind is not howling here OTOH it is blowing some. The Weather forecast was for Wind Chills in the single digits today and Cold tomorrow too. Oh well....

    Enjoy the Day

We're forecast a high of 33 today, winds 15-25 mph...pretty good amount of wind. I wouldn't go out walking today. Hubs went out and picked our daffodils...they're really pretty and would probably just waste away outside in the next several days. Really cheered up the room. :)

I was just reading a book about the Danish culture of happiness (hygge)...they are one of the happiest countries in the world, health care and universities are free, people get 5 weeks of vacation /year, most people leave work at 4:30 or 5:00, they enjoy simplicity, family and friends, bragging is frowned upon. Sounds lovely.

    Hi Vix
I think we hit our high of 30 degrees and it is still windy through tomorrow. The daffodils in this area are showing about 3 inches of leaf and that is it.

I suspect they added a lot of cheer to the room.

Here is the link to the WABC AccuWeather Page. showing the forecast for Tuesdays snow :)

    Eyewitness News
    NEW YORK (WABC) --
A Blizzard Watch has been issued in New York City, Long Island and Connecticut for Monday night through Tuesday evening.

AccuWeather says arctic air will grip the Tri-State area, setting the stage for freezing temperatures all weekend before the storm next week.

Latest models Euro east & GFS west, answer lies in between, Tuesday 12-18? of Snow, Winds 40-50 Vis. less 1/4, Blizzard Watch, Prepare Now! pic.twitter.com/AlWtnw2aXa

Meanwhile, models continue to strongly signal the potential for a strong coastal storm starting Monday night.

A low pressure system is expected to intensify and the Accuweather team is gathering new details that indicate a Nor'easter is developing Monday night thru Wednesday morning.

Significant snow is likely for parts of the area with potential for a major winter storm set up across the Eastern seaboard.

How much snow we can expect is still in the preliminary stages and will be more accurate as we get closer to Monday Evening :(

    Hi
I was out walking today and hit 7.7K steps and The temperature was 22 degrees Vs 19 degrees yesterday. It looks more and more like plenty of Snow Tuesday :( If so I suspect I'll stay home.

Tomorrow I need to strap on the Backpack and stop at the Grocery Store as I will have eaten my last Banana.

    From here:
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/pets/news-features/dogs-deliberately-deceive-owners-get-want/
Dogs 'deliberately deceive owners' to get what they want

Cats might have a reputation for being a bit sneaky or scheming - but, according to science, we really ought to be keeping an eye on dogs if we're worried about our pets running rings around us.

A new study, published in the journal Animal Cognition, has found pet dogs will deliberately deceive humans in order to get something they want.

Researchers at the University of Zurich studied 27 dogs, pairing each one with two human partners: a "co-operative" one who would allow the dogs to eat treats, and a "competitive" one who withheld the treats.

I was out walking today and hit 7.4K steps and The temperature was 21 degrees Vs 22 degrees yesterday. It looks more and more like plenty of Snow Tuesday :( If so I suspect I'll stay home. This Mornings 5:50AM forecast showed us in the 12 to 18 inch area with areas to the south in NJ as being lower.

I strapped on the Backpack and stopped at the Grocery Store where I bought Bananas, Nectarines and Black Plums.
The Town has been out preparing for the upcoming snow by brineing the streets early this morning.

    Good afternoon;
Roger-Even though the customers are nicer at the other store it is father away. Currently it is 5 miles for me to get to work and no highways. The other store is about 30 minutes away and part of that is highway driving.
Irene-10 hour shifts are long, even if you are busy. I usually start to get tired around the 7th hour. If I go more than 8 my brain turns to mush. :p
Vix-12-18 in. of snow for us with wind gusts of 50 mph starting tomorrow morning. I am only working 4 hours tomorrow. I plan on going in at 4 and leave by 8. I can then watch the snow from the comfort of my house.
Have a good day and stay safe. :)

Stay safe in the snow, Jo. The bulk of ours is supposed to be overnight, so I guess it's hitting here first. I just pulled my car into the garage really close to hubs', so he can get the snow blower out, but I doubt he could get into his car. I doubt we'll be going anywhere. ;)

    Hi
Before I forget 11 cents found, Not today naturally.
I was not out walking today and hit 0K steps and The temperature was 29 degrees Vs 21 degrees yesterday. It looks like the forecast for plenty of Snow was somewhat in error :( I decided to stay home and sleep in based on Mondays forecasts. This Mornings 7AM forecast shows us in the 8 to 12 inch range for snow vs yesterdays 12 to 18 inch area. I was out on the front porch and could hear what sounds like little ice pellets hitting the glass.

They are saying that the lowered amounts are due to the storm tracking further west than what they originally thought it would do and that puts us on the warmer side of it.

    Oh Well....
    Have a Good Tuesday
    Roger

Update, The Plow went buy around 7AM and now 45 minutes later the road is white again and larger snow flakes are falling again.

I understand that. One of the things I liked when I switched from driving for a living to working inside on computers was being able to stand inside looking out at bad weather. I include Rain, Snow, Heat or Cold in that category FWIW.
