good morning,Knee is still hurting I think my days at amazon is over I was up most of the night because of the pain. I did call Aetna who is in charge of my long term disability. they are looking into my case. I am disappointed that I hurt my self and knowing I can't do the work any more.Maybe it is time to retire? It is actually only a couple of months early since I planned on leaving before summer got here. Thanks for letting me rant it helps now my husband and Annie are happy about me staying home . Annie was having a hard time with me gone. My plans today is just take it easy and stay off of my knee as much as I can. Jo good luck at the other store hope your drive there is nice. I remember the show Providence it was a nice show do you remember it? Vix how have you been feeling? Roger I also would love to have the sweet potato bread recipe.

And even humor posted this morning :)

    Hi
I was out walking today and did 7.1Ksteps, The temperature was 23 degrees and is colder than yesterday, It was not that much worse walking than yesterday since there was no wind today. I lost the 1/4 pound of yesterdays weight gain and more weight this morning

Later today I plan to work on digitizing some more of the 78RPM records. The ones I did yesterday are old and many were one sided. Many of them under the Victor and Victor Record label, from the Victor Talking Machine Company :)
Working on 33 1/3 RPM records too, Currently I am starting on two shows from Serenade in Blue a Radio Program of the U.S. Air Force Recruiting Service :)

    Have a Great Thursday

    Hi Irene
I hope You made a report when You hurt it. Maybe Workman's Comp can happen again.

Sadly I did eat some of the Goodies, OTOH we managed to get pass out much of them :)
What happens is we make them to see how they will taste and then pass on the rest to a neighbor & friends.

I did not notice that it was a rant, OTOH I am easy going :)

Since it is something he found on the Internet I have asked him to send me the link, and will post it here.

Roger, I would surely be tempted with the goodies at your house. I was able to have a piece of my 86% chocolate last night. It was really nice having a treat. :)
    Sunny and cool here.
    Have a great day, everyone.

    Hi Vix
I have been having a few of the Dark Chocolate Chips now and then :)

I hope You are having warmer weather than I am since yesterday. Wednesdays high temperature was just after midnight and the temperatures were dropping through the rest of the day.

    Good morning.
Jo, good luck with the traffic. I hope it's not too far.
Irene, so sorry you hurt your knee again. Hope you feel better soon.
Roger, walk sounds too chilly. Good job on the weight loss. Interesting that you're converting all those old records.
Well, my car got stuck again last night. Had to call for a start....the tow guys said it was the starter....they did get under the car and get it started for me, so I drove it directly to the shop, where it is now. They haven't called me yet. I parked it right in front of the shop door, so they can't miss it!
I have an appt with an orthopedic physician's assistant this morning. I'm supposing she will send me for some tests.
The sun is shining. Have a great day everyone.

    Hi Joanne
I'm glad someone enjoyed the Chimes Link.

I agree even if I have no plans to go anywhere it is nice to know I can if needed or if the impulse strikes me.

Just curious is East Providence a long drive for You? I hope they are giving You something for the extra travel time and wear & tear on the car.

I am listening to show #596 off of the Serenade in Blue record as it records to the computer then I think I'll record a record called "The Magic Radio" or once that has "Three Skeleton Key" from the Escape radio show 1949 & "The Thing on the Fourble Board" from Quiet Please 1948.

    Have a Good Day

FWIW Here is the Sweet Potato Bread Recipe
    My Sister's Sweet Potato Bread
    Recipe by Karen=^..^=
Perfectly moist with just the right amount of sweetness. I left out the walnuts (personal preference) and added pecans to one

    Yield 2 Standard Loaves
    Units are US

    2 cups white sugar
    1 cup vegetable oil
    3 eggs
2 cups mashed canned candied yams or 2 cups sweet potatoes
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    3 cups flour
    1⁄4 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1⁄2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ginger
    1 teaspoon ground cloves
    1 cup chopped walnuts

    Directions

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, oil, egg, sweet potatoes and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients (except walnuts) together well and add to wet ingredients.
    Stir until just combined.
    Fold in walnuts.
Pour into 2 standard loaf pans.
Bake for 75 minutes or until thin knife inserted in center comes out clean.
We used Pecans since we had them left over from the Pecan Pie and would have had to buy Walnuts.
Link to the web page that also has a picture of the finished Product
Here is the Nutrition info from the same page:
Note that the Nutrition information is for the entire recipe so You have to decide what portion to use :)
    Nutrition Info
    Serving Size: 1 (1280 g)
    Servings Per Recipe: 1
Amount Per Serving % Daily Value Calories 2926.1

    Dietary Fiber 10.2 g 40%
    Sugars 202.3 g 809%

BTW We baked Sweet Potatoes in and then peeled them to get them for the baking as using Candied Yams would have made it really sweet, OTOH if You would rather not bake them and then cool them before use look for a low sugar canned version :)

I also have two recipes for the Sweet potato Pies that we have used and the Really easy to make Beer bread if anybody is interested.

    Good afternoon;
Irene-I hope your knee feels better soon. I agree with Roger, check to see if it is covered by workman's Comp.
Vix-Sorry about your car. I hope you get it back soon.
Roger-My commute today was 37.6 miles. It took be roughly 45 min. I didn't hit any traffic.
On the way home it was a little longer with the traffic. I get travel pay,53 cents a mile. Thanks for the recipe. I believe you already gave me the one for beer bread. I will have to look for it.
Tomorrow after work I have an appointment with a massage therapist for my neck and after that I see the chiropractor. The Chiro recommended that I go because the muscles in my neck and shoulders are very tight. I hope it helps. My neck feels a lot better since going to the Chiro.
    Have a great evening. :)

    Hi all.
Thanks for the recipe, Roger, looks wonderful. :)
Jo, I hope your neck feels better. It's good to get a massage before chiropractic....helps loosen it up so he can manipulate it more easily.
I'm going to go to physical therapy again. Rampant arthritis all over. I'm going to wait til I have my car back to make an appt.
They haven't even started to work on my car, they were busy and didn't even check it over yet. He said they would call in for a starter tomorrow, but it would take 3-5 days to get it. Maybe sooner if any of the local dealers have one. That's a bummer. I asked about a loaner car, but they don't have any, he said he would talk with his manager. I guess I shouldn't have put all that work into it. I will start looking around at new cars, so next time I'll be ready to just buy one.
    Have a good night.

    Hi
I was out walking today and did 4.9K steps + Thin Dime so far, The temperature was 32 degrees and is warmer than yesterday, I will be going out later with three stops and should be over my goal in steps. Produce Store, Dollar Store and Bank.

Later today I plan to work on digitizing some more of the 78s and 33 1/3 RPM records. The one I am doing right now is a AudioDisc which is a brand of blank 78 RPM records that local recording studios and people that had home record cutters would use. FWIW I actually have a Old Console AM/SW/Record player and record cutter stored in the attic.

    Have a Great Friday

That does make it somewhat better that You get mileage pay....

I'm glad that the Chiro helps, I hope that adding in the Massage Therapist completes the relief.

I hope the Physical Therapy helps, I'm sorry to hear that You need to go :(

I have to wonder why they did not call for the starter the day You got the car to them. The suspicious person in me wonders if it is a ploy to push a new car sale :)

The Sweet Potato Bread was basically a Sweet Potato Pie in a format geared to being hand food IMO. I tried it with Butter and that was tasty, I am of the opinion that it would also be good with Whipped Cream. FWIW Redi Whip is a decent fairly low calorie count.

    Have a Nice Day

Good morning, knee is still hurting I do have a Drs apt on thursday but I did call amazon so they are aware of my problem . I am hoping it isn't anything serious I have been staying off of my knee and resting it.I did down load all the papers I need to take to the Drs hopefully it isn't anything that can't be fixed by resting I did see on the papers that there is a limitations on ladders and stairs so maybe I can work if he can keep me off of the ladder. Vix I hope your car is fixed soon I have been letting George take my jeep since I wasn't going any where. Tonight we are going to Browns Mills for the weekend it will be good for me no steps. Since I hurt my knee I haven't gone on any walks so hoping by the end of next week I see an improvement I took next week as a vacation.

Roger, I've decided to get a new car. I'm not buying it there. I'm donating my Jeep to Purple Heart. They can put a new starter in it and maybe a vet can get some use out of it. I don't know what kind of car I'm going to get, I hate not having a lot of time to look around. I just really need something reliable. Anyway. blah.
    Have a good night, everyone.

I was out walking today and did 7.7K steps, yesterday I ended the day with 11K steps, The temperature this morning was 50 degrees and is warmer than yesterday. I lightened up on what I wore which meant I was somewhat lighter while walking :) Rain showers are in the forecast for later today. It has been cloudy so far today.

    Consider it cancelled :)

Your son gave good advice, It is always easier to get a good deal and make the right choice when there is no pressure to do it. Are You thinking about another Jeep ?

Rebuilt parts can be a good deal, it depends on the rebuilder. I had both good and bad experiences that way. The One that lasted the best was one where the guy actually removed the Alternator, rebuilt it and reinstalled while I waited :)

    Good afternoon;
Well, I see my post from yesterday is missing. I probably forgot to hit post reply.
My visit with the massage therapist went well. After that I went to my Chiro appt. He adjusted my neck and said I didn't need to come back unless I had a problem. The massage therapist is going to check with me tomorrow to see how I am doing and we will go from there. So far my neck has been feeling good.
Vix-sound advise from your son. Who would have thought we would be getting advise from our children. ;) Taking you time is the best way to buy a car.

Vix-The massage therapist didn't tell me to drink a lot of water. He told me to wear a scarf around my neck to keep the muscles warm.

    Good morning.
Jo, my massage therapist usually tells me to drink a lot of water after a deep massage to flush the toxins that were released from the muscles. Keeping the muscles warm is good, helps keep them looser. I'm glad your son and DIL enjoyed Copenhagen. Glad you can have a relaxing day today.
I've got nothing planned for today either. :)

    Hi
I was out walking today and did 8.1K steps + 1 Dime. The temperature this morning was 41 degrees and is 9 degrees cooler than yesterday. I added a layer to what I wore. Yesterdays rain showers from the forecast ended up as a drizzle AKA Fizzle.
For us up north in NJ our forecast high is in the 40s and I do not expect to see any Sunshine today.

While I was walking I stopped at the produce store and bough 4 Nice Green Pears, 4 Gala Apples, and 4 Nectarines.

Later today I plan to continue working on digitizing some more of the 78s and 33 1/3 RPM records. I am currently capturing a episode of Bulldog Drummond from January 1947.
