    yet more Humor today

    Hi
I walked 5800 Steps + a Quarter and 5 Pennies during the morning walk. The temperature this morning is 58 on the news channel and 58 degrees on the front porch. It is a cloudy looking morning and it rained very lightly overnight. The street was wet, under the trees was dry. Once again the plan for today is to get the rest of my walking and exercise doing more yard work. We did the run to the recycle yard. Last nights weather forecast showed a 60% chance of rain for Wednesday, Today, and 90% for Thursday and 60% for Friday.

    Have a Great Wednesday

The functional doc thinks I'm doing ok...it's going to be a long process. I'll go check out the humor. Thanks.
    Hi Vix
That sounds like really good news to me. I hope the PT is near a end :)

    Enjoy playing with the clay

Roger-I live in the next town over from Brockton. It is not a very nice city, lots of crime.
I am not surprised about the Dunkin Donuts being shot at.
My son lives about 1/2 mile from the Manchester arena. They heard the explosion.
Hubby didn't find much metal detecting. In the past he has found as much as $10 in coin.
He usually goes to playgrounds early in the morning.
I also turned on my heat yesterday to take the chill out of the house.
Vix-good news from the functional Dr. :)
    Have a good evening.

    Hi Joanne
I hope the Violence does not spill over to Your area. Anymore it seems that the answer to being unhappy is a violent response :(

On the good side Your son is OK, I see ISIS took responsibility for killing children. Not real surprising as they are complete barbarians.

I turned the heat on last night for an hour around 3AM to warm up the bedroom, oh well.

    Have a Nice Day

    Good evening;
The sun came out for a little while today, but for the most part it was cloudy.
Roger-How did your raspberry bushes fare over the winter? What are you planning on planting this year?
I was thinking about getting some patio vegetable plants this year.
    Hi Vix and Irene.

More Humor and a post with links to Fails and more from elsewhere

    Hi
I walked 5300 Steps during the morning walk. The temperature this morning is 57 on the news channel and 55 degrees on the front porch and has gone up one entire degree on the porch in the last two hours. It is a rainy looking morning and it started raining overnight.

I ended up with 11K+ for a step count with another run to the Home Depot and working in the yard added exercise to the day :)

Man traveling across the country mowing lawns for those in need makes a stop in Utah
LEHI — There is no lawn Rodney Smith Jr. won’t tackle. From the longest grass to the biggest weeds, the 27-year-old does it all.

The Alabama A&M University student is traveling from coast to coast this summer mowing lawns for those in need.

"What we do is, we do it for free. We don't charge nothing,” Smith said. “We cut grass free for the elderly, disabled, single parent mothers and veterans.”

In 2015, while attending school, Smith saw an elderly man struggling to mow his lawn and it sparked an idea. He started Raising Men Lawn Care, a service that encourages youth to give back to those who are struggling by mowing, raking lawns and shoveling snow from driveways.

"It lifts me up, you know. They're on a fixed income, they can only afford so much,” Smith said. “So for us to come by and help them out, they use those funds on things they really need."
Snipped, more info in the article
Smith started hitting southern states at the beginning of May. So far, Smith has mowed lawns in 12 states including Utah. With equipment donated by the manufacturing company Briggs & Stratton, he hopes to hit all 50 states by the end of June.

"Sometimes I can do two, three states in a day, depending on how close the states are,” Smith said.

His experience so far has been a rewarding one. Smith said he’ll never forget the people he met in the Lone Star State.

"I had one lady in Texas, she cried in my arms because her grass was so big and she needed it cut,” he said.

On Friday night, Smith mowed the lawn of an elderly couple in Lehi. His next stop is Oregon. Smith plans to end his journey in Hawaii in late June. Smith hopes this journey across America will encourage others to serve those in need.
What a Nice Thing to do

    Hi Vix and Irene.
    Have a good evening. :)

    Hi Joanne
They seem to have overwintered, I had one that looked poorly last year and we have sent off pictures to Jung where they were bought. It still looks dead as do a couple of others, however they seem to have sent out runners and those are up and looking good so...

The Early ones that have already bloomed seem to have come through better that the later crop variety. The Blackberry went wild last year with growth and is a mass of blooms so I am hopeful for a large crop :)

If I said my brother is running late this year planting vegetables and so far has only planted two types of Onion sets. We got a late start redoing the garden with a different layout in raised beds :(

Oh well, I believe there will be the usual suspects, Several types of Tomatoes, Green and Hot Peppers, Eggplant at a minimum.

We had a real light rain yesterday and then the day was mostly cloudy.

Roger-we have had rain all day. I am glad that some of your plants survived the winter.
I would love to plant berry bushes, but the squirrels would probably eat them. They have been eating the buds off of my flowers.

    Hi
I walked 6100+ Steps during the morning walk. The temperature this morning is 55 on the news channel and 59 degrees on the front porch. I cut the walk short as we will be doing more work in the garden later today. It rained overnight and Thundered twice with heavy rain and thunder a few minutes before midnight, thus I had broken sleep and am somewhat tired.

George was right about the driving, I have seen what a severe case of the Flu can do. I have heard of people passing out just standing.

I hope the PT is helping. Wow another month of no work :)

If I said I wish I was optimistic about peace, sadly I think we will see bombings into the future. I suspect that even when there is no ISIS the idea will be out there and incited from other countries.

    Hi Joanne
Is it the squirrels? I would have thought it to be Deer.

I believe that all except maybe one of the berry plants survived the winter. My brother also used the bend them over and cover method on the Fig Trees and they are doing good too. At this point in time it looks like a bumper crop off of the Blackberry plant. I only planted one, however it is the one that did the best :)

If I remember to do so, I'll take the camera out back and take a picture of it and post it tomorrow, If I remember :)

My Brother is muttering about a rack of ribs and dry rub, I am thinking that since Hamburger meat is on sale I will have him pick it up when he goes for the Ribs and I'll Grill a couple of those Saturday or Sunday or maybe I'll do more than two as I suspect they will microwave nicely for Monday too.

I'm sorry You are working both of those days, Yuck :(

    Cheers

    Hi
I walked 7100+ Steps during the morning walk. The temperature this morning is 57 on the news channel and 59 degrees on the front porch.

On my return from the walk I drove out to get a haircut and then on to the Grocery Store, The ShopRite has 80% Hamburger on sale for $1.99 by using the Key Tag from them. Sadly that is a good price around here. I am comfortable using the 80% since I will be draining it first and then using it during the upcoming days. I also froze 1/2 of it :)

    Now Some Humor
    New CEO
Arcelor-Mittal Steel, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hired a new CEO. The new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers. On a tour of the facilities, the CEO noticed a guy leaning against a wall. The room was full of workers and he wanted to let them know that he meant business.
He asked the guy, "How much money do you make a week?”
A little surprised, the young man looked at him and said, "I make $400 a week ... Why?”
The CEO said, "Wait right here.”
He walked back to his office, came back in two minutes, and handed the guy $1,600 in cash and said, "Here's four weeks' pay. Now GET OUT and don't come back."
Feeling pretty good about himself the CEO looked around the room and asked, "Does anyone want to tell me what that goof-ball did here?”
From across the room a voice said, "Pizza delivery guy from Donino's"

Arizona Man Arrested For Threatening Congresswoman Over Trump
Posted at 11:53 am on May 25, 2017 by Jenn Jacques
An Arizona man was arrested after authorities say he told a Congresswoman her ‘days were numbered’ after she voted to support President Trump.

According to the FBI, a Tuscon school district employee threatened to shoot Representative Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) in three separate voice messages in May after he became enraged with her for supporting President Donald Trump.

Authorities tracked the caller’s phone number to Steve Martan, 58, who was later arrested for allegedly threatening to assault and murder a U.S. official, interfering with McSally’s duties and retaliating against her, according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Tucson.

On May 2 and May 10, Martan is accused of calling McSally’s congressional office and leaving threatening, expletive-filled voice-mail messages.

“Yeah this is for Martha McSally,” Martan allegedly said in the first recording, before saying he wanted to wring the congresswoman’s neck. “You need to get back where you came from and leave Arizona,” he added.

According to the Daily Star Martan, who works as a campus monitor at the Miles Explanatory Learning Center in the Tucson Unified School District, was told not to come to campus while the district investigates the allegations against him.

“Our community should be deeply disturbed by these threats of violence,” District Director C.J. Karamargin said in a statement. “Threatening to shoot a member of Congress between the eyes and stating that her days are numbered is sickening. It is especially sickening here in southeastern Arizona because we know, perhaps better than any congressional district in the country, what happens when threats of violence become acts of violence.”

We had a fair amount of rain, it was not real heavy during the day, just steady. I did hear heavier rain that night when the Thunder woke me up however.

When I drove I actually worked Holidays by choice, That got me regular 8 standard pay + 1 Hour OT pay Guaranteed and time and a half for hours worked. Generally traffic would be better too.

Planning to buy the on sale ShopRite Burger meat ? I like the 647 Bread at 40 calories a slice from there too. They had Italian, White and Wheat Bread in the store this morning.

    Hi Vix
So far plenty of sun today, I wore the Visor when walking to keep it out of my eyes.

I am not 100% sure about grilling this weekend however it is likely. My brother will be doing a Rack of ribs with a dry rub, I prefer my ribs with a good sauce :)

n honor of the Holiday Weekend I did buy a 2 slice package of This, The mille-feuille vanilla slice, custard slice, also known as the Napoleon that is 90 calories and nicely low in carbs too, which I had been developing a craving and when I saw that it would work really nicely as a NS Dessert the sale was made :)
    From Here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mille-feuille
Traditionally, a mille-feuille is made up of three layers of puff pastry (pâte feuilletée), alternating with two layers of pastry cream (crème pâtissière), but sometimes whipped cream or jam are substituted. The top pastry layer is dusted with confectioner's sugar, and sometimes cocoa, pastry crumbs, or pulverized seeds (e.g. roasted almonds). Alternatively the top is glazed with icing or fondant in alternating white (icing) and brown (chocolate) stripes, and combed.

BTW the picture is exactly what the ones I bought look like :)

    Enjoy the Wedding.

A chance of rain Monday here too, Boo Hiss :(

Driving Record of Fire Director Marred by 19 Accidents and 18 License Suspensions

NBC New York: Robert Rawls Involved in 19 Accidents, Most of Them Since 2002
    Article | May 9, 2014 - 9:21pm | By Charlie Kratovil
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On April 30, 2004, Robert Rawls allegedly injured two Rutgers University employees who were crossing in a crosswalk at the intersection of George and Liberty Streets.

One woman leaped out of the way and averted injury. Another had her pelvis broken in three places, while a third person sufferred full body contusions, according to a source.

That accident happened just over ten years before Rawls struck three children in a crosswalk located just twelve blocks away on Tuesday afternoon.

Over those ten years, Rawls was involved in another thirteen car accidents, not including the tragedy on Tuesday.

Now, Rawls finds himself and his driving record under increased scrutiny after two days of massive protests in response to the accident.

NBC New York's Brian Thompson reported earlier this evening that Rawls has been in nineteen accidents in 38 years of driving, according to the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission.

    Hi Joanne
Grilled Salmon does sound tasty too, I'm guessing it had some sort of seasoning ?

It was in the 70s here yesterday. at 6:30 in the the evening the living room was up to 77 degrees and the closed in porch was up to 74 degrees so I opened the front door onto it. I call it closed in despite that I have a west facing window opened. I open that once since the breezes usually come from that direction. It did cool down into the 50s overnight and this morning the living room was 72 degrees. FWIW I would have found that too cold and closed windows too.

    Have a Nice Day

I worked this morning, then went grocery shopping.
I haven't decided what to do with the rest of my day.
I may go to the garden center and get some plant ideas for a few beds that I had the landscaper put in last fall. I just haven't made up my mind about what want to plant.

I'm glad to hear that. It has started with on and off rain again :(
Hopefully the Parade goes off and is not rescheduled.

    Enjoy the Holiday
