    Good morning;
Just checking in to let you know I am still alive. I have a pinched nerve in my neck and have been flat on my back for almost a week. Sitting is a killer, only able to sleep a few hours at a time. I am on Ibuprofen 800mg.and a muscle relaxer. I am also going to the chiropractor 3 times a week. I am seeing a little improvement, but have a ways to go.

Howdy all y'all. It's teriffic Tuesday! Another damp, dreary day, but I managed to get out and back yesterday and stay dry. I don't have to go anywhere today so will stay in and dry.

Take this first one with a grain of salt. I can't attest to its veracity. Make that salt and pepper. With some avocado toast on the side?

    Hello!

It is in the low 60's but wet, foggy, grey and cold, lol..( for us Al. people!) Jo, so very sorry to hear of your pinched nerve. They are awful and painful. The relaxers and meds will help. Stay ahead of the pain, even if you feel relief, it will be temporary for awhile. I have that too, and it takes a while for that nerve to heal. I am so sorry! The chiropractor gave the most relief for my daughter. I am too chicken!! I hope you move from the nerve pain very soon, to just stiffness and manageable pain! Prayers!! <3

Funny the rest of you all are our temperature down South. Do not envy the wintry mix coming back you all. We have a freezing nite come Sat. I think. We had 2.5 inches of rain Sat. and almost 3 inches Sunday and Monday. Absolutely pouring at the minute! Expecting the ark or just ducks at least! :#

Cooking today for someone's family that is very ill at church today . I keep having odd setbacks so I hope this meal comes out, lol..She has gone to specialists here, and also in Birmingham, which is a pretty excellent hospital but she seems to be suffering from a nerve degeneration that is something not yet known to ID. Not the usual suspects. However the outlook is not too good.

Gives us plenty to be thankful for..Though Jo, You get a pass for nerve pain!! Take care all!! <3

Jo, sorry about your pinched nerve...chiropractor should help along with the muscle relaxers/pain meds. I've started sleeping with my "bed buddy" again...it's a rice filled roll you can heat up in the microwave or chill in the freezer that fits right under your neck. It seems to help me when things start to go awry. Gives your neck adjustable support. You may want to ask your Dr. about that. I hope you start feeling better soon!
Ed, damp and dreary here too. Dark and drizzly all day.
Funny, Jan, we have a high in the mid 40s today and it feels pretty warm to me! I agree...I don't like wintry mix at all, awful if you have to drive in it. They've changed our forecast for Saturday to rain/snow, with a snow accumulation of 1-3 inches. I don't think there's anything special I was planning for the weekend, so I can deal with that. You surely do a lot of cooking for your church! That is so nice of you to help people out like that. I know it is appreciated!
I am always thankful when I look around at the world and other people. We are truly lucky to have been born in a Democratic country, and by world terms relatively wealthy, and healthy.
Have a good night, everyone. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! Less damp and dreary today, but might still be stuffy from all the humidity in the air.

Not a lot on the agenda for today. I will give Lilo a fluid treatment around lunchtime.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! A bit chilly here, with no chance of precipitation. They may call with the results of Lilo's lab work today. She is in my lap now, rubbing against my wrist and trying to interfere with my typing.

I was a bit busier than expected yesterday.

I realized I needed to pick up a prescription, and some kibble for Lilo.

So after dropping her back at home (and, of course, giving her some treats since we went to the vet) I headed out to PetSmart, where I discovered my prescription for her special food had expired. So I trudged to the back of the store, to the built in vet, where things were running a tad slow and I was standing, waiting, longer than was really comfortable. But, when I finally got to the desk, the nice young lady there quickly issued a new prescription and gave me a $15 off coupon to use on the food. I guess that made it worth the wait.

Walgreen's was the next stop, and I picked up my prescription with no wait. On the way back to the door I grabbed some frozen Mozzarella sticks for J's lunch, and a frozen pizza for dinner, bought those, came home and warmed up some beef and veggie soup for my own lunch.

By the time I got the laundry all done, folded, and put away, I was ready for a nap!

    Good morning all.
Irene, it's sunny, but windy and cold here too...31 with a high of 39 today. Think I'll just stick to my eliptical and indoor exercise. The lunch was good. A few people that aren't in class anymore came and it was really nice to see them.
Ed, how great that you got a discount for your wait!
I have no special plans for today. Will do some things around the house. Maybe go out later if anything comes up.
Jo, I hope your neck is feeling better.
    Hi Jan and Val.
    Happy Friday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying (and possibly soggy) Saturday! 80% chance of precipitation in the post meridian hours but not too bad as far as temperature goes. I don't think I need to go anywhere today, though one never knows for sure.

Lilo's bloodwork looked good, according to the call from the vet. I am to keep on with the fluid treatments, of course, as that will continue for the rest of her life. She takes it pretty well, though she does get a bit grumpy. Next week I need to bring Orion back in so they can re-check his ears to see if the drops cleared up the little bit of infection in there. It wasn't much anyway, so it should be fine now.

J has been thoroughly occupied with some work project, and has been up all night in fact, still working on it. Last night I asked, "What do you want for dinner?" and got the response, "Okay."

Me, trying to figure out how to make Okay...

    gyf2ayambkup.png

I decided on a hash brown, onion, egg, and cheese concoction and apparently it was Okay. So here is what Okay looks like, if anyone needs to make it.

    Good morning all.
Ed, I love the versatility of eggs! Sometimes I like to make an omelette for dinner...comfort food.
Cold here, 25 up to 35 later. Supposed to start snowing around noon, then turn to wintry mix with ice and snow accumulation of about an inch...not too bad since I don't have to go anywhere. Don't like to drive in wintry mix!
No special plans for today...may run over to the library before it starts to snow. Maybe not.
    Anyway...Happy Saturday!

    Hello all!!
I have had a busy week and I am kind of tired getting up. My stepmom is in rehab at the moment needing PT as she has trouble walking and doing things. Bless her, she puts things off so it all is catching up with her. She did have to have some IV therapy for infection at the hospital first so it is a long haul. I bought her some books, candy, nuts and the like and was able to package it up and get it sent. She lives in S.C. and does not want to move here by family, so it is not an optimum situation. She has taken a music class for probably 25 years and the instructor has adopted her and she is like family there. They are taking care of her so it is a really odd situation, but that is what makes her happy. I think they are getting a taste of what we deal with though, but since they are closer in distance, they can get things done. She has always played music, but this is a get together class for the organ. She has spent lots of thousands trading up for the newest organs, so bless the poor instructors heart, he is earning his commissions. I had to put my foot down last time I was there and tell them no more upgrades till she works on her house. Bless her friends, they have just discovered what I have been talking about. I am so thankful they really like her as she is very difficult and very spoiled in her approach to life. Which is basically do nothing because someone will eventually do it . There is about a 12 year difference between us, so as I age I seem like I can help her less and less, especially with the distance. My daughter and I do alot of it together, thank goodness. She has traveled with the group on some of their field trips so knows Mac, (the friend) pretty well. He genuinely loves older people, which his classes usually are made up of. But what a situation...
Cooking for Sunday and setting up communion. It is a two day process. Getting ready for some cold and freezing temps too, all the way to Fla. Do not envy your winds and snow!! Be careful all!!! Jo, I hope you are healing! Ed, glad of the good reports about Lilo. Irene, Glad you are tucked in and warm!! I know the people you visit are so thankful for you! Vix, your late party sounded wonderful getting together! Hi Val.
Take care all and stay warm!!! <3
