    Hi
I ended up walking 3 miles today, longer than planned + One battered Dime.

A really Nice day if You exclude the Light Mist and Drizzle for the first part of it, I used the umbrella for about 5 minutes and that was it. I went out in a Thin Long Sleeve Shirt and it was getting warm by the end of the day :)

    Have a Great Thursday

    Good evening;
Roger and Irene-The company I work for just bought out A&P stores in the NJ area. They spent the last two week converting them over to Acme. I am not sure exactly where they are located. If I remember I will ask at work tomorrow.
Vix-I never made it to the curtain store. My car battery was dead when I left work and I had to get a jump from one of my co-workers. I was afraid to shut off my car, so no errands, just straight home. I am waiting for hubby to get home, so he can check it out. I think I may need a new battery. My car is 5 years old.
    Have a good night. :)

    Hi Joanne
We had an A&P, Pathmark, Acme in town at one time. I think the nearest A&P now is up the Hill from me. It Looks like What will be left is now The Acme that has been there what seems like forever.

Five years is around the time for a car battery to go ten toes up so You could be right that You need a new battery. Other causes would be the charging system, IE Alternator, Belt is off or loose or a bad Connection to the Battery, or Battery cable, Cable is not likely these days however :) I wonder how old the battery is in my car, hmmm....

    Cheers

When I was young and living in NJ, there were A&P stores and Acme stores. We don't have either in MD as far as I know.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to hire the cleaning service for once a month. It's kind of expensive, but I could use a little help. She was nice, she said my house looked clean...I try to keep up with it. Then in the spring, I can have them clean the windows too. I'll sleep on it. I think I'll feel the same tomorrow. I don't splurge on a lot of things.
Have a good night everyone.

    Hi Vix
We also had Grand Union stores, Now we seem to be down to Shop & Shop, ShopRite, Kings, Acme and a few smaller chains.

If You can afford it why not, If I felt we could splurge on a cleaning service I would be pushing it. However We need a New Side Porch, Rugs or Flooring or resurfacing the hardwood under the rug in the Living Room and Probably 4 More energy efficient Windows in the Bedrooms.

    Cheers
    Roger
good morning running late so I will talk to you later

    Hi Irene
Been There Done That, I can see how You run out of time easily, I'm retired and there are not enough waking hours :)

    Enjoy the class.

Is the RA infusions working well now, I seem to remember You saying something in the past?

Foggy here too this morning earlier on. Now Just off and on Drizzle

Roger, I really can't tell if the infusions are working or not because of the fibromyalgia and the degenerated spine...I don't know which causes what! I was hoping it would help with all of it. But they took blood tests and I have an appt with the doc in 2 weeks, so he should be able to tell if it's doing me any good. Else, I guess we'll try something else. hobble on!

    Good afternoon,
Vix-good luck with the cleaning service. I am jealous. ;)
It was pretty nice here today, we will probably get the rain tomorrow. We seem to be a day behind weather wise.
Roger-I am getting a new battery this weekend, better safe than sorry. I found a penny today, while doing the laundry. :p
    Hi Irene.
    Enjoy your evening. :)

    Good morning!
Hobbled through zumba and sat in the sauna for a few minutes....the sauna is nice. I'm going to do that more regularly. :) I'll probably call the cleaning service today and set up a time. I'll start with once a month and see how it goes. :)
Jo, good to make sure the battery is working. :)
Somewhat cloudy today, but it's nice and warm, supposed to chill up tomorrow. Might as well enjoy it while we can. :)

    Hi
Walked today, It was 67 Degrees and damp outside when I left. The Streets were wet but I never saw any precipitation. 9,000 steps so I walked further than I planned to :)

    Have a Good Friday

    Hi Vix
It sounds as if it is not doing what You hoped for or only minimally, I hope they find something that works for You. Insurance is covering it I hope.

Some days I feel like hobble on applies to me for some of my walking. Especially towards the end of the walk.

    Good Luck

    Hi Irene.

    Hi Joanne
I think I am lazy regarding laundry, I have maintained a large supply of clothes so I can go 7 to 10 days and still have a reserve before washing them. One Benefit of a large capacity Washing Machine. One Downside of that is that when I need to downsize clothing since starting NS I donate lots of things.

I would want a new battery too, if it failed in warm weather what would it do when the cold weather saps it?

Still no Sun breaking through here. The Rains mainly missed us yesterday and today. I think the highest Rainfall For Thursday was 0.02 inches :)

    Cheers

So far, treatment has been disappointing, but I guess I'm not getting any younger, darn the luck. Definitely could not afford the treatments...actually the pharmaceutical company is covering most of it, I just had to give up my privacy to them, no biggie as the Chinese have all my records anyway! :p
The temps actually went up to 77 today, but it was pretty cloudy all day, and drizzled for about 3 seconds.
Went to a mall to see if I could find a new coat, but nothing really looked that great, so I can use my coat from last year unless and until I find something better. At least I got out and walked around. Relaxation only for the rest of the evening. :)
    Have a good night, everyone.

    Good evening,
Weather here was warm and breezy today.
Work was busy today, we were supposed to have a visit from the district manager and all the dept. specialists.
When I left work at 1:00 they still haven't arrived.
Vix-I am sorry that the treatments are not working as you hoped.
Hubby bought me a new battery yesterday, so hopefully I am all ready for winter.
    Have a good weekend. :)

Glad your car is set for winter, Jo. I think I need an oil change, may do that today.
    So far very overcast today.
I have a baby shower to go to tomorrow...that should be really fun...it's my daughter's sister-in-law. My daughter is going to be an aunt. :)
Making plans to see the Nutcracker in Baltimore in December...that should be nice too.
Have a great day, everyone. :)

Vix-I have never seen the Nutcracker. My niece was in it for a few years here in Boston.
Baby showers are always fun, such a joyful time. :)
Today is my late start at work 11:00. So far this morning I have washed the kitchen floor, did a load of laundry,
washed all my waterford by hand(boy was it dusty), and worked on some computer stuff.
    Hi Roger and Irene.
    Enjoy your day. :)

    Hi

    Hi Vix
I am sorry to hear that the treatments are disappointing you. I know You had high hopes. Is it a Trial or just a bargain program?

Call me Cheap or Frugal or ?? However I still have the same coat from many years ago. I may have to replace it soon as the cuffs are starting to get frayed. OTOH I do not go anywhere fancy where I feel a need for stylish and spiffy. This one is utilitarian. Sort of a Military color and look. Two pockets on each side, One has a flap and then the other is open and sits behind the pocket with the flap and a fake leather looking collar.

    Cheers

I guess You also had the Antifreeze protection checked? So Lets recap, Brakes, Fan Belt & Battery? It sounds as if You are ready :)

I think I would have been happy to get away before management showed up, That was one reason I liked working nights.

    Hi Again
In my case Oil changes are done by time and not mileage. Even then I stretch them as It gets used maybe once a week on the average. I am due to fill the gas tank, It is now under 1/2 and has not been done in several months, July or August As I recollect it :)

    Enjoy the Baby Shower

    Hi One more time
I made coffee this morning since I did not get out walking and drank too much. It is a 10 cup pot and less than 2 cups left in the Pot. I hope I sleep tonight :)

BTW You are ahead of me in the Ballet count. OTOH I may be ahead in Broadway Plays as B'way is a hour+ Bus/train ride away. I used to go to NYC,NY in the Morning, stooge around and pick up whatever bargain tickets were available to see. That was how I saw the King & I w/ Yul Brynner, Evita, Oh Calcutta, Best Little W****House in Texas w/Mickey Rooney, Hair, Godspell and more.

I lived in Nutley, NJ when I was young...it was easy to catch a bus into NYC. We used to do the same, wait on line for matinee 2fers or whatever other bargain tickets there were. That was long long ago. I haven't been to any shows other than a couple of stand up comedians, in ages.
Sunny day today....have the baby shower this afternoon. Fun.
    Enjoy your day. :)

    Vix-have fun at the shower.

Roger-I do my oil changes by time also. I do not do a lot of driving other than back and forth to work. My car is 5 years old and I have 27,000 miles on it.
My day is pretty much free, except for grocery shopping.

    Hi
I got out walking today, No Money but I did pick up 12 Apples, 11 Look OK, and 1 I had not noticed when I picked it up was moderately damaged. Many will have small bruises from when they fell off of the tree. I like the taste, Slightly sweet and somewhat tart and I know they are fresh :) The Apples are a money equivalent since they will keep me in apples for a week+

    Have a Good Sunday

    Hi Vix
I see I'm not the only one that looked for a bargain matinee on Broadway. I always enjoyed doing that. Sadly the prices are now exorbitant IMO. You were even Closer than I when You were Nutley. I do get some humor from watching the Family Feud TV shows, Steve Harvey has a quick mind for humor.

    Hi Irene
The Phone dying was the only reason my brother replaced his original Cell phone. Since neither of us uses a Smartphone that eliminates one of the reasons people replace their old phone.

I like the Acme as the Parking is much easier and it is much less crowded than the ShopRite, OTOH Except for items on sale it does run somewhat higher in prices.

Have a Good Upcoming week at work

The Current car has 15,000+ miles on it since 1999 when it was new. OTOH I was done with work when I got it a couple of years ago. Both of the previous owners known to me BTW were the stereotypical go to church and grocery store once or twice a week people.

I had to replace the old factory tires when I got it due to their age and dry rot. They still looked like new too.

I didn't make it for the oil change today, but will go in the next few days. It's been 5 months...that's pretty good for me, used to be about every three months. I got my car when it was new...2002, it now has over 197,000 miles on it! I drove it to work for 11 years, 50-60 miles /day round trip, plus we always took my car on long trips (like to Long Island which is close to 300 miles one way), until the last few years when we've been renting vans for that trip (that way all 6 of us can fit comfortably). Roger, it's nice not having to drive that much. :)
Irene, best wishes with your new phone. :)
Jo, I have not even started to think about Christmas! Although all the churches are starting to have their Christmas Craft fairs. I'm sure we will keep it simple again this year. :) Just starting to plan for Thanksgiving. :) Also need to figure out what to do for my birthday and our anniversary, both the first week of December. It's a big anniversary....40 years! Yikes! haha.
The shower was fun today...saw my daughter's in-laws, the new mom to be is very sweet. It was a joyful party. :)
Anyway, have a good night, everyone. :)

Irene-have a good day at work.
Vix-I don't think I have ever put that many miles on a car. I go to my sister's house for thanksgiving. All I have to make is an apple pie and a lemon meringue pie. In September it was 40 years for me also.
Roger-good luck on your walk today.
No work today for me. Laundry and a little cleaning around the house. Hubby is off also, so maybe he will take me out to lunch. ;)
