I didn't take any pictures for this year's Fourth of July dinner. It wasn't very exciting.
As my mouth isn't up to crunchy or spicy (or even too much acidity) yet, I served plain, Kroger shredded white meat chicken. No sauce.
For the appetizer, I tried to have some Ritz crackers with pimento cheese, but the roof of my mouth wasn't having it.
So for the appetizer (and Jason's main protein) I made deviled eggs. I had two pieces, and he had six.
Sides included Kroger Brown Sugar Baked Beans, vegetarian, straight from the can and warmed up, and some Publix Southern style potato salad.
Dessert was peach pie with vanilla ice cream.
This was the largest, and most solid (as opposed to really soft food) meal I've eaten since the day before the surgery, over a week ago.
It was very satisfying!

Hopefully a slow last day of work for the week. The holiday was nice enough though I wish people would be considerate about fireworks late at night. I could use some more sleep.

We hung out with our daughter and family for an hour or so last night. We're going to take care of their fish while they're gone. Good to see everyone.

Good morning;
I had a wonderful time with the family. It was so good to have them here and I was sad to see
them go.
Yesterday was hot and steamy and it seems today will be more of the same. I plan to stay in most of
the day straightening the house and doing laundry.
Ed-I am glad you can start to eat solid food again.
Vix-we use to be able to see the fireworks from our back yard, but the trees have grown too tall.
Now we walk down the street and watch from the parking lot of the senior housing. We don't have
to be in the crowds at the high school or too near the smoke.
Irene-Yeah! for no more PT. I hope the exercises helped you. I bet you are enjoying the pool in
this hot weather.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!
We have 29 (C) sunny degrees (feels like 33) with an expected partly cloudy high of 31 and 98% chance of precipitation that could include thunderstorms.
We had a few rumbles yesterday but only a few tiny drops of rain, though the humidity was horribly high all afternoon and evening. I think it probably is now as well, with the "feels like" of 33.
I managed to eat out last night, but nothing very adventurous or chewy. I had a fairly bland noodle dish when we went out to our favorite Vietnamese restaurant. It was just chicken, basil, onion, and bean sprouts in a tasty brown sauce with plenty of flat noodles. No large chunks of crunchy vegetables. I finished that off for my late breakfast after the cats let me sleep in until 9:05! They still got fed on time, at 9:30, before I ate my noodles.
There is a pool party today, but I am not going. The food will be a taco bar and whatever sides the guests bring, but my mouth isn't up to a taco bar yet, and besides I'd rather not be driving back in the rain. Jason may go, but he doesn't usually eat much at the pool parties, other than sides, as the mains are never vegetarian. Sometimes at one venue there are veggie burgers as an option, along with the regular burgers, and he'll have one of the veggie burgers. Usually we (or he) will stop and get something on the way home to eat.
While out, we did go to an Asian market and picked up a few things, including half a dozen fresh duck eggs that we might scramble up for tonight's supper.
Oh, and you may be astonished to know that I did a load of laundry yesterday and folded it and put it away on the same day!

Ed, you folded laundry the same day. 😂Good for you! Glad you're able to have more variety in your food. Nice to have an Asian market close by. I'm starting a lower fiber diet today(FODMAP). I have a colonoscopy scheduled for Friday. It's supposed to help with the prep.

well we went for a very short walk it is so warm here it is already 81 here. So i will have to spend more time on the treadmill. Yesterday I never even got on the treadmill.
George has come down with a summer cold so he doesn't fill like doing anything so I will be in the pool by myself

We got a little thunder and rain yesterday, and I think overnight as the bushes were quite wet this morning when I was scattering grapes under the hedge row for the birds and chipmunks. Duck eggs have a somewhat stronger taste than chicken eggs, but not egregiously so and I don't really notice much difference. They are bigger, of course. If used in something like an omelet, with lots of fillings, I doubt most people would really notice the difference. And they might not notice even if they are just scrambled.
We haven't eaten them yet. Maybe for lunch or dinner today.
No laundry to do today, so nothing critical on the agenda. I got my shopping done yesterday, unless I need to run out to get something else today. That could happen!

Doesn't sound like too horrible a day, but awfully hot.
Breakfast was biscuits with sausage gravy.

Android Malware Apps
You may not think too much about downloading an app onto your phone. Apps are widely available and can make navigating a website from your phone much easier. However, many people may not realize that they can also be used by cybercriminals to steal your information. In this week’s scam, cybercriminals are targeting Android devices with malicious apps. Read reviews and do research before downloading any app, especially lesser-known ones.

Well, we ate the duck eggs yesterday for lunch, scrambled. There wasn't enough difference in taste to bother anyone, and if it was different at all, wasn't much.
We enjoyed the lunch. I won't get duck eggs often, despite the flavor being pretty much the same, simply because they are rather expensive, with it being $4.99 for half a dozen fresh duck eggs.

It is going to be a steamy today. I am going back to work this morning, so I will see how hot
it is when I get home before I decide to go for my walk. I went early yesterday and it wasn't so bad.
Ed-glad you are on the mend and able to eat more solid foods. My son and daughter-in-law are both vegan, so I know the challenge of eating out and finding something that they will eat.

I was trying to a grow an onion in a pot. I started it on the windowsill and then put it out on the
deck. It was coming along nicely, then today some creature dug it out of the pot and ate it.

I still have one serving of the cottage pie that will be my lunch today. Supper last night was pick-up from Zaxby's as I didn't feel like cooking.
Breakfast this morning was maple brown sugar oatmeal and a couple of sausage patties.
We'll see what the work day brings.
