Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! It's a cold, sunny 39 degrees out there now with a sunny high of 70 expected this afternoon.

I need to get out to PetSmart for the monthly cat food and kitty litter run, and maybe to Kroger for a few grocery items.

    Good morning.
Good for you and George, Irene. Nice to be relatively safe.
I have had a headache since my vaccine on Monday. Seems to be easing up a bit today.
It's currently 40 and sunny here, with a high of 47 expected. I got a chance to sit on the porch in the sun yesterday. Almost felt like a cat. :smirk:
The zoom meditation today is yoga nidra....I've never done that, could be interesting.
Jan and Jo, hope you are both doing well.
    Have a good day, everyone.

Orion likes to "help" me take a nap. Lilo helps too, but she helps by lying near my head, on her towel.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! 37 clear degrees right now, with a slightly cooler 64 degrees expected for the high. Clouds are expected to roll in as the day progresses, for partly sunny in the afternoon and overcast for the evening and overnight.

I got a bargain on a Tyson slow cooker pot roast kit at Kroger yesterday, that turned into dinner, as I got it started as soon as the groceries were put away. Along with that bargain, I got some bargains on cod, and an oddly cut piece of beef shoulder that should make another pot roast when I am ready for it.

The roast last night turned out great after 6 1/2 hours cooking on high. Eduardo then added some mushrooms and Marsala wine to the drippings and braising liquid remaining in the pot, and thickened that with a cornstarch slurry to make a delicious gravy.

This morning I cut up all the leftovers and made stew, so had a bowl of that for breakfast. There are at least two bowls left, so odds are good that lunch will be more stew.

Nothing critical on the agenda for today, but I am expecting at least one package, maybe two, as that one that requires my signature is still in limbo at last check. I feel sure it will materialize before the need for the contents becomes critical.

And, of course, Lilo needs to have her Friday evening fluid treatment, making her third for the week, and then we take the weekend off, treating her next on Monday morning.

I do have the dishwasher started, so will be putting clean dishes away later, and may do some house cleaning.

    Good morning.
Nice cooking, Ed. Hope your packages arrive.
I've got my yearly physical and an appt with an orthopedic Dr. today. So, busy day. You are very good to give Lilo 3 weekly treatments. That is a lot.
It's currently 24 chilly degrees and sunny with a high of 41 expected. I sat out on the porch for a few minutes yesterday, but it was really too cold to be comfortable.
    Have a good day, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! It's a chilly 43 out there, under partly cloudy skies and only supposed to get up to 50 today, with overcast skies and 30% chance of rain.

I may get out to a Kroger store while taking at least one of the cars out for a run this weekend. I will probably take both cars out for a run. J was at the doctor on Tuesday but that was a short run.

Nothing critical on the agenda. I will start working in my new walking shoes though, by wearing them around the house at least.

    Good morning.
Currently 34 and sunny, with a mix of clouds and sun today and a high of 42.
Usual chores to do, and some reading material from the ortho I saw yesterday. Going to Frederick yesterday was enough of a run for my car. It was about 30-40 minutes each way. I bought hiking boots last time, instead of walking shoes. Very comfy.
Happy weekend everyone. Have a fun Saturday.

When I left the Aldi store this morning, I saw a group of people with a table on the far side of the lot, near the street. On closer examination, it turned out to be Girl Scouts. As I drove by I looked longingly at the cookies, from the corner of my eye. Didn't want to stare directly and look like a creep.

And that's as close as I need to be to any Girl Scout cookies.

I did get some more great bargains at Kroger in the "used meat" bin. And my freezer is now full. I have thin sliced, boneless pork loin chops, perfect for breakfast or really any meal, separated into portion sized freezer packs, along with some bottom round beef steak, and boneless country style pork ribs (my favorite cut of pork!) along with all the beef I separated out from the last time. I have plenty of individually portioned packets of meat to last me a while. I found another nice package of steelhead trout too.

I took out the large diced pork from last time, thawed it, and have it in a crock with some maple barbecue sauce that Eduardo tossed together, for dinner tonight. I will probably shred the meat when it's done, and either make a small sandwich with sourdough bread, or just have it as a barbecue plate, with some spinach and a starch.

    Good morning.
Good deals on the reduced price meat, Ed. I'm actually trying to move more towards plant based protein, but it's really hard, especially if not using soy, and I'm still eating meat, fish and eggs...though the meat is mostly chicken. When I occasionally have beef, I savor it.
I love cookies...and all kinds of baked goods. Now they are rare, special treats.
I'm still going through the info the ortho gave me and looking things up online. I want to make the best decision for myself.
No special plans for today. It's cold again. Currently 22 and sunny with a high of 44 expected.
Happy Sunday, everyone. Relax and enjoy.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous sunny Sunday! 35 frigid degrees out there now, but looking for a sunny afternoon high of 61. We have a special weather statement for HIGH FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING FOR PARTS OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA DUE TO LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES but I wasn't planning an burning anything any time soon.

I may get out for a bit, just to drive around.

Dinner turned out to be a barbecue plate with spinach and home made mac and cheese. Breakfast was bacon with leftover mac and cheese. There is another barbecue plate, just like yesterday's, to warm up for lunch, and yet more mac and cheese that may be my supper tonight.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! It's a frigid 32 degrees out there now with clear skies, but we are looking for a sunny high of 67 degrees this afternoon.

I have given Lilo her Monday morning fluid treatment, and I have eaten my breakfast. I have an appointment for Dinah's annual stuff right at noon, so my lunch may be a bit late, if I don't eat something by 11:15.

    Good morning.
It's currently 25 and sunny with a high of 50 expected for today...might be a good day for sitting in the sun on the porch. I have a book to pick up at the library.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Clear and 35 out there now, looking for a sunny afternoon high of 70! I have to get out a bit today for lab draw, and will probably pick up a few grocery items since I amazingly actually have some money left after paying all this month's bills, and even pre-paying my automobile insurance due next month.

I have a special account I move money to every month to save toward that insurance payment, and since the bill arrived, and I had enough in that account, I paid it and don't have to worry about that big payment again until October. Well, I do need to remember to put money in that account every month but that has become a habit right at the beginning of every month anyway.

Dinner was simple tuna casserole, using rotini made from chickpeas. For J I made potatoes au gratin with bell peppers and jalapeños. I will be having tuna casserole for lunch today as well.

And I just heard that my uncle Mike, my godfather, passed on this morning.

He never made me an offer I couldn't refuse. (Yes. I think he would have appreciated the joke.)

    Good morning.
My sympathies, Ed, on the passing of your godfather/uncle. Mine was my Uncle Leon. He passed away when I was in my 20s. He was always one for a good joke too. Hugs.
It's currently 43 and mostly cloudy today with a high of 67 expected. Wow...that's warm.
    Have a good day, everyone.

Well, I got out to the lab, and then came home to feed the cats a bit late. Then took J's car for a ride, stopping at LIDL for a few things, like milk, eggs, hearts of Romaine, some jambalaya rice mix, and several packs of cheese.

And finally, about 11:20, actually ate some food! I did not have breakfast, but did eat two dark chocolate kisses, AFTER the blood draw, so I am calling that plate of tuna casserole my brunch today.

I am hearing from friends and relatives all over the country. I will not be attending the funeral, as I have not been vaccinated.

    Good morning;
    Ed-Sorry for your loss.
Irene-yeah for you and George getting both shots.
Vix-Are you researching hip replacements? I have heard that the anterior approach is better.
I went to a new primary care Dr. last week. I have a dermatology appt. for a skin check and 2 orthopedic appts. One for my hand and the other for my knee. I also took Sophie to a different vet for a second opinion on her nose lump. Now they are sending her to a specialist for imaging and a biopsy. Never a dull moment here.
Also schedule change at work, so not too much time to get on the computer.
    Have a great day. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It's a hazy 38 degrees out there now, with an expected partly cloudy high of 73 this afternoon.

The only critical thing on today's agenda is Lilo's Wednesday afternoon fluid treatment, which I will administer after lunch sometime.

Dinner last night was meatless taco salad, which has been our "Taco Tuesday" meal for several weeks now. I am at a point where I am burned out on salad again, but can still manage that one at least, because it has so much more in it than just salad. And I make a decent honey mustard dressing for it too, that J loves, despite not generally being fond of mustard.

Breakfast was one small breakfast chop, thawed overnight in the refrigerator, two eggs, and some sourdough toast with butter and a small smear of no-sugar-added peach jam.
