    Good morning ladies,
Have a blessed Sunday and Father's Day with those special loved ones. Remembering the Dads who have passed on - including mine - and celebrating with the Dads who are still with us. Also thinking of those who hope to be a father one day (such as our Son) and praying for those fathers who are struggling with separation and divorce issues that make parenting a challenge. So blessed to have a heavenly Father who loves me unconditionally today and every day. Wherever you are and whoever you are with today, may you too feel perfectly loved and able to share that love.

Grateful for this day of rest and looking forward to making it special for the Dad in this house.

    Hugs to you all,
    MaryLynn

Wow! What a surprise to check in after missing yesterday to see that we ALL missed yesterday! Guess everyone is busy, busy!

Mary Lynn, that's a beautiful ode to fathers you posted. You write very elegantly and I very much enjoy reading your posts. I sometimes think my redneck roots are a little too visible in mine!

Becky, Dave's daughter came over yesterday evening, took her Daddy to dinner and stayed to visit. That's probably the limit of our festivities, although Jeana, my oldest, will see her Dad. Jessi's dad hasn't been in the picture since she was in 5th grade - and in the case of her father, that's a good thing.

I'm eagerly looking forward to next week when I'll have the pleasure of babysitting my 19-month old great-nephew, Dean! There's probably a zoo trip in my future, as well as the park, probably some swimming pool and splash pad time, too. Dave's wondering whether Deano will be as good a napping partner as Dinky is - you can see what his priorities are! Hahahahahaha!

Back from the river and it looks like everyone took a break from the computer. Hopefully all have enjoyed their weekend as much as I have. I did work pretty hard Friday night and and Saturday morning, about 8 hours all together. But my DIL and I really got a lot done. Wedding Saturday was very strange but the newlyweds seemed to be happy. We got plenty of boating in and the rest of the time was spent enjoying family and friends. My tooth didn't hurt until we were on the way home tonight. This is the worst it has been. Took a pain pill about 2 hours ago and it took the edge off but I am still in pain. Really thought the antibiotics were doing the trick. Oh well, it is bareable and hopefully I can get the one pulled before the 4th. We are planning to spend that whole week at the cabin and so is our son.
The Georgia Peach truck is coming to town tomorrow, so excited. Peaches are my all time favorite fruit. My GF and I are splitting 25 pounds. I will also be picking up 25 pounds for my other GF. Really am going to miss seeing mom this week. My sister is planning on staying a week, but we will see.
Need to sign off, tooth is throbbing and I can't really think straight right now.

Good Monday morning my OMG pals. Yes, we all took family time, it appears, as Father's Day deserves. Our family bbq was Saturday, in which was a huge success. All four children came, all but three grandchildren were present, two neighbors joined in, 21 in all. We provided the meat, buns and drinks and the kids brought the side dishes and it was wonderful. Glenn had the pool area looking superb. The thre very large blow-up floats were a big hit, the whale, shark and Izxy's favorite, the turtle. Lol.

Glenn was honored and so he deserved it by his children and Jason. We are fortunate with our family. My son is still struggling, but I am working with him everyday to encourage him on the path to where he was.

Let's talk our walk. This is the challenge I have for us.

    Group challenge:

1: if you are not tracking or logging your food daily, I challenge you to do so , even if just today through Thursfsy or Friday. Just start.

    2. If you are already a daily tracker of your food, I challenge you to share a new summer salad recipe with us. Glenn's daughter brought the most wonderful salad over with fruits, different veggies and lettuces and a homemade vinegarette dressing. Or you could share your favorite dressing recipe.

I heard a study the other day that showed that people that ate whole grains showed significant fight against cancer. I have been switching between raisen bran cereal and egg white omelets for a while now. That and whole grain English muffins. Impressed to get confirmation on my nutritionist recommendation.

We are leaving this afternoon for Birmingham as I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon with my eye doctor. Not only is she checking my shingle eye, she is going to do some testing on both my eyes for their extreme dryness. Today after 9:45a I cannot put any moisture drops in. Ouch!!

Patti- you poor thing on the tooth pain. Are you going to have an implant put in, or is the tooth far enough back you can let it go? I know they are very expensive. I have two bridges in my upper teeth, both with fake a fake tooth in them. They were both over $5k. Ouch. I had double dental coverage at the time, so it covered all. But when they have to be replaced, that won't be the case. I hope you will be out of pain soon.

Janet. I know you are having a great time. I cannot stop smiling for you being in your male company you enjoy.

Marylynn- So nice you checked in
    dear.

Suzi- You and I, we sound alike! Lol.

I have tons to do, so I better get going!

    Karla

    Please! Pick a challenge.

    Good Morning Ladies-
I have to say I haven't found time for even three minutes the last week or so and I need to get back to that and tracking. So Karla- I will pick up your challenge.
I have so much water weight my rings are not really moving- and I pushed water all day yesterday but I think its the salty dinner from the wedding which was the most relaxing part of my weekend.
Yesterday was father's day and my bday- and yes the picnic was at my house and all I did was run. My lower back is killing me today. Emily said she wants to take me out to dinner since I didn't get a birthday dinner- so sweet of her.
this weekend is Rick's son's wedding so that should be interesting considering the Jack and Jill was SO not fun with his ex and her BFF being rude to Rick. Sigh- why can't people just grow the heck up and act like the adults they are supposed to be?
Janet- Have a great time and relax- I'm sure ALL your new curves are showing just as they should. ;)
Patti- I don't understand why the dentist can't get you in- don't they have emergency appts? I'd start to push/ call daily and see if there is a cancellation? Are you still on the Zpack? Maybe it wasn't a strong enough antibiotic to kick the infection to the curb? PLEASE give them a call again today. In this day and age you shouldn't have to be in pain this long..... Nurse Cindy has reported for duty.
Suzi- Love the picture of Jessi and your niece- they are lovely.
MaryLynn- I hope you have still on track and doing what is right for you.
To everyone else checking in- a big hello.
Now I need to go an pre-track my day.

Good Morning, Ladies.....I hope everyone enjoyed their family time this weekend. We certainly did.

Patti: I hope you get some relief from your tooth pain. Weddings can be strange. I know we were the "buffer table" at our Chicago son's wedding. Annie's mom's side and dad's side were on opposite sides. Annie's grandfather got up to speak and her grandmother (they were divorced) got up and left! What a hoot!

Karla: I'm glad you enjoyed your family time. Greg, Carrie, Jillian, and Cole came over for a cook out. Greg got Cole in the water; however, he screamed for about 20 minutes the first time he went in with Greg. He was scared to go under water, but Greg assured him he wouldn't let go. They are leaving for Destin on Friday to spend a week with their dad. He rents a condo down there for the week. Dan is traveling on his own with Dylan and Penny. Annie refused to go.......talk about drama!

Group challenge: I have a vegetable "salad" to share. It's made with sugar though. You could substitute with Splenda. Do I post it in recipes or here? I already track everyday. Some days it's not pretty. I'm working on that.

Have a great day everyone. I'm going to post the recipe in this group, but can also post in the recipe group.

Lots to do today. No pain since last night. There are few oral surgeons in my network in this area. The one I need to see is only this office on wed and Friday's. The visit this Friday is for eval only, then need to schedule appointment for extraction. Then can make appointment to have the bad tooth fixed. It is the last molar that needs pulled. The roots are very long and curved, not an easy extraction. The molar on the other side took nearly an hour to remove under a local. NOT doing that again. I will survive, the ambesol helps most of the time. I have only had to take 3 pain pills since this start d a couple of weeks ago. Not sure why yesterday was so bad. Going to go pick up peaches and deliver them to my GFs, then grocery shopping, ugh and laundry. Do I know how to have fun or what! The wedding we went to was for the daughter of one of our friends at the cabin. He does our pig every year and is just the nicest guy. We have never met her or her intended but we went because he asked. It was a beautiful wedding. Colors were the deepest royal purple and white. Instead of a flower girl she had her 5 year old twin nieces, in gorgeous white dresses with big tulle skirts and purple sashes, carry a banner down the aisle that said "Here comes the bride". They were too frickin adorable. The tables were set with white clothes with a burlap runner, chairs had burlap bows, and they had twinkle lights covered with purple petals. The centerpiece of blue, purple and white flowers was in a tin vase. The parents said I could take the decorations off our table so I could make a wreath for the couple. I ate very little over the weekend because of the gi side effects from the Zpack.

Karla, good luck and will be praying for good news at your eye appointment. Thanks for the challenge. I have been very lax in this area. Just was sick and tired of the whole thing but I know I need to get it together. I wish someone with design a menu for me so I don't have to think app out it, lol.

Cindy, I worry so. Ice about all the stress you are under. I don't know what the answer is but you really need those 3 minutes at the very least! Happy birthday a day late but glad I at least got a card to you in time. Hope you get a nice birthday dinner with your sweet daughter.

Waving to all the rest of my OMG ladies.

So far so good on my tracking. Breakfast, lunch and snacks done. On our way to Birmingham now.

Patti- is your sister in town now? Or is she coming for the fourth while you are gone? Glenn has some concerns over his teeth too. I made myself a cleaning appointment for next Tuesday.

Bert- I clocked over 14k steps on Friday!!

I hope we stop soon, my stomach is churning.

Good morning ladies. I tracked all of yesterday and had 1137 calories and 9130 steps. We are having breakfast and I have tracked it.

TT: how are you doing on your chosen group challenge?

Back up to the room to shower and my visit is at 9:45. I will let you all know how the testing goes.

Good Morning, Ladies. Very hot and humid again today. I want to get outside to work in my flower beds, but can't stand the heat for very long.

Patti: Our daughter's flower girls did the same thing! It was so cute. I'mzilj6yuhed6y.jpg
I'm attaching a picture. Were the girls dressed in similar fashion?

Karla: Way to go! 14K+ I need to get back in the swing of things to get in more steps.

I'm doing well with tracking, but realize I need to eat more veggies. Have a great day, everyone!

Good luck Karla and good job.
My sister got here Sunday. Mom left me a voicemail yesterday when my sister went out to get a bottle of whiskey. My sister is supposedly a recovered drug addict and should not be drinking, not my circus, not my monkey. Mom called me again last night from her bedroom and as whispering so my sister wouldn't hear her. She didn't say much but what she did say was enough to know she is not having a very good visit and is glad that my sister is leaving tomorrow or Thursday. Poor Mom, she shouldn't have to have so much stress. My other sis went over last night and had dinner with them. Her husband refused to go because he doesn't care for my sister either. I just hope she leaves on a good note and there is no ugliness, my sister is very good at stirring the pot. I am going to join my GF at her gym tomorrow morning for Zumba and Silver Sneakers. Several girls from the hospital where I worked are getting together for dinner Thursday night. I will have to miss TRX so figured I wouldn't feel guilty if I picked up these classes. Yesterday did not quite go as planned. Had to stand in line nearly 2 hours for the peaches. Truck was 45 minutes late and there was about 200 people in line in front of me with as many behind me. It was 90 degrees out with occasional breezes. Nice people in line to help pass the time. Then I had to deliver the peaches to my GFs. Each stop was about an hour, because there is no such thing as just drop and go, lol. So today I need to get to the grocery and do some laundry. Another night of tooth pain but the ambesol is taking care of it. Praying he can work me in for next Wednesday.

Bert, cute little girls and the dresses were similar to the ones in the picture. Must have been on Pinterest, lol.

Until later, yesterday all tracked and will do the same for today.

    Good morning, ladies!
With the sun shining again, it's nearly time to head back outside and get started on our project for today. We have been clearing and hauling and raking dead fall and leaves on our property as well as the adjacent land. The progress is encouraging. One area where we would like to pile new forest debris is down a steep slope that is unstable at best. The solution we have come up with includes making some stairs. Yesterday we picked up some landscaping logs and some concrete sidewalk slabs to insert for level surface. That said, we will still need to "fill" each step with rocks and dirt... so I need to gather some rocks from the cleared areas. Great exercise for arms and legs as the slopes are a challenge and some of the rocks are heavier than others. Arms are developing muscles I've never had, which is encouraging too!

The temperatures are hovering around 65F in the shade and we are in some forested areas today. We tend to take regular water and coffee breaks and chill out totally in the evenings, plus trying to get extra protein to feed these newly forming muscles! All said, I'm totally addicted to moving around outside and doing things that are fun. It doesn't feel like exercise, but more like entertainment. Thus, we do it day after day and though we also still hike many days, the body is pretty "spent" after climbing around and carting logs, branches and rocks.

Pleased that everyone had some face time with families and friends over the Fathers Day weekend. While it can be a drama at times in any social setting, we can always take some quiet time to refocus and relax our minds and bodies, right? Take care and have a wonderful day ahead, all!

    Hugs,
    MaryLynn

Hi, gang! It's sweltering hot here in OK. Today is the second babysitting day and we're having a great time! Dean is a very happy baby and at a really fun age, too. He was scared of Dave yesterday, but enjoying him today. I'll post a pic of the two of them playing with Dave's "stick bucket" - a bucket full of wood scraps he keeps from various projects. They had a bang up good time playing "gick" ( Translation: stick in Deano-ese).

Karla - god luck with the eye tests. I'm glad Dr Glenn is with you and here's hoping for good news. Thanks for the challenge, I happily accept! It's exactly the challenge I need right now. I also look forward to seeing the salad recipes!

Bert - thanks so much for the corn salad recipe. I LOVE corn and may go get the stuff today to make this. We have plenty of fresh green beans and have been looking for various ways to use them. When Dave gets home, I'll get his recipe for green bean salad he make last week. It was delicious!

Patti - that dang tooth! I'm with nurse Cindy and recommend calling every day until you can get in. You shouldn't have such a wait when you're in so much pain that pain pills don't kick it. I thought all dentists would work you in for an emergency appointment under such circumstances.

Cindy - sweetheart, take those 3 minutes! You deserve it girlfriend and I worry about the toll such extreme long-term stress may be taking on your health.

MaryLynn - building steps into such a slope sounds like quite an undertaking but one that will be well worth the trouble in the long run. Enjoy hose lovely, moderate temps! Our overnight lows are higher than 65!

Time to make Dean some lunch. I'll chat with y'all later.

Oh Suzi what a cutie. Was this the little buddy you were talking about when you were down here? Adorable. So glad the challenge is speaking to you. I love shoe peg corn too.

Patti- that is not good news about your visiting sister, albeit, not surprising. You don't think she's there trying to get money out of your mother, do you? So sorry that tooth pain is dragging on. Can you really not get in, or are you waiting for some reason?

Janet- I sure am missing you, but know you are enjoying yourself in intelligent and humorous company in an outstanding backdrop.

Mary Lynn- you seem to be enjoying challenging your body and the results you are seeing both in yourself, and the landscape.

Now for the news. The eye testing was brutal. Four different test and uncomfortable. Not good results, but no surprise. New routine, more omega 3 vitamins to take, blinking exercises and back to warm compresses twice a day on a good note, decreased the prednisone down to once a day and on track to have the zoster cataract removed in September. Yes! It was a long and grueling day with a three hour office visit and a four hour drive. But, necessary for excellent care.

I have been relaxing and doing the hot compresses, blinking exe rd close, which is good after the hot compresses as the oil glands are warm. They did say I had lost 60% of my glands per the test.

    Thank you all for caring.

Mary Lynn, you are definitely a force to be reckoned with. And you are reaping double benefits from all your hard work.

Suzi, what a cutie Dean is. I bet you are having so. Ugh fun.

Karla, sorry you had to go through all that but hope the treatment makes a difference. I cannot get in to the oral surgeon any earlier. If I had an abscess that would be a different story but pain is not an emergency, especially since it is not constant. I can bear it as long as the ambesol works. Have only had to take 3 pain pills since this started. But I learned that the pain is usually caused by food in between the two teeth. If I use my water pick after eating it really helps.

Got everything done today that I didn't accomplish yesterday. Made a big pan of enchiladas for dinner but then Edd had to work so I put them in the fridge and I ate a frozen meal and some cheese and crackers. Still have calories left so may have a bit of carrot cake that Mom made. Can't wait for the peaches to get ripe, another day or two, they are supposed to be awesome.

    Sweet dreams to all

Good Morning, Ladies. We have had a rain storm early this morning. Mike went to work at 5:30 this morning, only to discover his orders were cancelling.....he is the manager of a concrete plant.

Patti: So sorry about your mom's visit with your sister and hope the pot isn't stirred too much when she leaves. I do think Lindsey got her flower girl ideas from Pinterest! :)

Mary Lynn: I also enjoy doing things that make progress rather than regimented exercises. I weeded a flower garden yesterday and walked at the mall (that's always dangerous, especially if I see a "bargain").

Suzi: I loved your picture of Dean.

Karla: Take care of that eye! I'm sure your day was exhausting.

    Have a great day, everyone!

Good afternoon, just got back from 2 hours at the gym with my GF, followed by a trip to Jimmy Johns. I tracked it but it wasn't pretty. I was starved! The classes were Zumba, taught by a Hyper Latino gal who never stops smiling, which makes you forgive her for her high energy, lol. Followed by 45 minutes of light aerobics, hand weights and leg exercises. Logged just shy of 10K steps for the two classes. The second class Is called Silver Sneakers. And the average age of the participants was 70 but it was a good workout and a nice cool down after Zumba. Talked to my mom briefly. She the visit has not been bad, but there is definitely a riff in their relationship. My sister is leaving tomorrow so I hope to stop by after the gym tomorrow, , if she is up to company. She may need some alone time! We are expecting severe storms later so I am glad I don't have to go out.

Bert, did your pool get fixed. I would have trouble walking the mall, get too distracted by window displays and sales.

My peaches are starting to get ripe so I better decide what I want to do with some of them. I know I wil freeze some but I want to make a pie or cobbler for this weekend. And of course, I will be eating some out of hand. Wish I hadn't eaten so much at lunch so I could have one right now.

    Until we meet again

Hi, everyone! Safely home from a great getaway. Exhausted so will read all and catch up tommorrow.

The least fun part -- my car's AC stopped working about 100 miles before I got there Saturday. My friend did everything he could to diagnose/treat and even tried to get it in somewhere there, but no dice, so I have just driven nearly 500 miles home with no AC. Good grief, I feel scummy!

Shower shortly, and early to bed -- taking car in first thing tomorrow. I ate quite modestly while there, so trying to keep momentum going.

More tomorrow, just wanted to say hello.

    Good evening ladies,
Just a quick check in to say HI to all and wanted you to know that we found out that our son Adam won the Ashbury Design Experience competition, per their quoted words:

    "CONGRATULATIONS ADAM
The second WINNER of the ABURY Design Experience! We are really happy for you! Are you ready to embrace this life changing experience? And more than ready to go to Morocco and meet our artisans? We believe so!!
Dora and Francesca, this was such a difficult choice to make! THANK YOU for all your support, you have such an amazing talent :) Keep on going!"

He wanted to thank everyone for sharing and caring. I want to thank you for your support and
will comment on personals another time.

Body is pretty tired after hauling and clearing and chopping outside earlier today. Just enjoying some baseball games for now and need to get dinner in the over shortly.

Janet- ouch on the no A/C. I hope it's an inexpensive fix. Sounds like you had a great visit otherwise.

Marylynn- So pleased about your son's award! I know you are proud. Also sounds like progress is being made on your great outdoors.

Patti- Congrats on your tracking. The challenge is to get us back in the groove. The clean eating will come after the next holiday and with the next challenge, I propose.

I have a very busy day. Credentialing this morning after I bathe Brutus. Then vet visit at 11:30 for Brutus. Hair appointment at 1:30 and movies with the grandkids and friends at 4.

Chat with you fine ladies later on.

Mornin' y'all! It's a glorious morning on my back porch and I wanted to share it with you while the coffee's brewing. More brutal hot here for the next couple day before a "cool front" drops our temps all the way down to 90 or so over the weekend.

Karla - yes, Dean is Kelly's grandson that we were talking about the night we went to dinner with you. So glad you're getting such excellent care for your eyes and I sure hope the new treatment is effective.

Patti - hey have Silver Sneakers classes at the Y here, too, but they're mid-morning after we've done our thing earlier. Hope your sisters exit goes smoothly....

Bert - I'm with you on gardening! I'll post a pic in a minute with my phlox in full bloom.

MaryLynn - how wonderful for your son! You must be one proud mama!

Janet - big bummer on the a/c. I can't I,aging driving 500 miles without it!!! Can't wait to hear more about your trip...

Well, I'm either going to the lake with Dave this afternoon or driving with Dean and his Mom, Elyse to Tyler, TX tomorrow. Elyse is expecting again, and has been having quite a bit of discomfort. I'll find out later this morning when I go pick up Deano. Eire way, I think I'm going to go across town this morning to another WW center since I'll miss my Saturday WI.

Good Morning, Ladies. I'm taking Molly this morning for her annual shots. She always gets excited to go in the car and is in a good mood to see the vet! Today, we will be adding our son's dog to our household for a week while he and family go to Destin to have a family vacation with his dad. I used to be jealous that his dad could afford to rent a condo and give them money to travel for the week. He doesn't have much of a relationship with Dan and family as Dan was only 3 when we divorced. I wish them luck! :)

Patti: The pool is a work in progress. It looks much better, but I just can't seem to get the cloudiness to totally be eliminated. I absolutely love peaches! Greg and Carrie bring some back on their way home from their trip.

Janet: Wow, no ac! I'm sure that 500 miles was a long 500 miles. At least you made it home safely.

MaryLynn: Congrats for your son's accomplishments.

Breakfast is tracked and off I go! Have a great day, everyone.

Here we are again, another day with mostly good reports and lots of smiles. Love seeing you all each morning.

Janet, so glad to have you back. You poor thing, I know how much you hate the heat too. Hope it is quickly and I expensively fixed. I know you were in your heaven these past days. Can't wait to hear the details.

Karla, enjoy the movies. What are you going to see?

Mary Lynn, so excited for your son. I would have chosen his design even if I hadn't known you, he is truly talented. Can't wait to hear what is next for him.

The peaches are fabulous. I peeled, sliced and froze about 15 of them yesterday which was 2 sheet pans full. I will need to do more today. I am going to make pie filling and freeze in pie plates so I can just slip them into pie crusts later. I will take what is left to the river this weekend and share. I tracked it all yesterday. The sandwich at Jimmy Johns was pricey, worth it and within my calories for the day. I also tried to mak Moshe peach pie cookies I found on Pinterest. They were awful. They looked nothing like the picture, didn't spread out, and we're very cakey. Luckily they only took 1 peach to make. Gotta get to the gym, dinner tonight at my favorite Mexican restaurant with some of my favorite people.

Off to get grey striptease and then to movies. We are seeing Finding Dorry, then dizzy if off to spend the night with Bentley.

Glenn is wanting to buy a river cabin now. He will get a lump sum as part of his retirement in April and that is his plan. He has two for us to go look at next weekend on the Pascagoula River. Geez, another place for me v to keep up. Jason says if there's fishing, he's moving in. Lol.

    Off to the salon.

Nice to see everybody back after good weekends.

Karla, hope your eyes settle down. You made me laugh with your "striptease." A cabin would be a lovely getaway. As for whole grains, they are better for us -- the thing we need to be careful of is "whole grain" as a marketing ploy -- I always look at fiber content, not just a label that says "made with whole grain," because that an be far more talk than action!

Patti, enjoy the peaches -- I need to hit the produce market soon and hope there will be good peaches, maybe even my beloved donut/Saturn peaches soon. Hope your sister didn't leave your mom emotionally (&/or financially) depleted. If there is meant to be a permanent rift, hope your mom will stand up for herself, no matter how painful that might be. Bet she can use a big, wram Patti hug. Hope the tooth get fixed SOON -- good luck tomorrow.

Bert, I laughed about Molly going to the vet -- SO much easier with dogs! Ah, the "buffer table." That seems to be my profession. Buffer table, single-people table, etc. Certainly makes events more interesting!

Suzi, Dean is beyond-words cute. Great picture! Also loved the shot of Jessi and Liz -- you sure have pretty family! Your phlox looks lovely -- have always liked phlox too.

MaryLynn, building stairs? Wow -- you really are Wonder Woman. Congratulations to Adam -- what a fabulous honor and jumpstart to his career -- keep us posted.

Cindy -- A belated happy birthday! I'll be thinking of you at the wedding this weekend -- bet your eyerolling muscles will get a good workout.

My trip was just what I needed. Arrived Saturday late afternoon, got many hugs and we kicked back on the porch (after I had petted the horses). My friend's cat remembered me too, even though it's been 14 months. We ventured out to the local bar & grill but kitchen was closed, so we just had a drink and ended up at the McD's drive-thru (got just a cheeseburger). Sunday was very laid-back -- his son (who's grown -- my friend raised him alone from age 4) remembered to wish his dad a good day too. Monday he tried to get my car in to be looked at but no dice, even in Columbia. I learned how to drive a golf cart and played chauffeur as he played with a couple of buddies on Tuesday -- nice guys. We picked up dinner at Panera and both conked out early for us after a day out in the heat. Drove back yesterday and am pretty beat.

House got cleaned today and guy came to fix my bed (adjustable base is broken and they sent him with the wrong part so he'll have to come back. Oh well. Doing much laundry here and catching up on DVR'd stuff, hoping to get to bed early. Had to be up early today to get car in (about $700 -- warranty extends to 100K and I am just past that, of course, but service advisor is trying to get Honda to give me some relief. The dealer does all my maintenance and maybe that'll help).

A storm is brewing here -- lawn needs the watering, but cats don't like the thunder.

    Have a nice night!

Janet, you do sound refresh d from your trip despite the a/c issue. I
Aren't golf carts fun. Everyone on our road at the cabin has one, it is our main source of transportation once we get there and park the car! Keeping my fingers crossed that the car dealership will do the right thing and cut you a break on getting your a/c fixed.

I went to Mom's after the gym this morning. She said I didn't need to stop by but that she had lots to tell me. The short version is that my sister barely talked to her unless she was complaining or bemoaning how hard her life was. If mom tried to engage her in any other conversation she got one word replies or a grunt. Mom was very depressed that their relationship has come to this but knows it is not her doing. She said she felt bad because she was relieved that my sister had finally gone home. I stayed for about 4 hours and let her pour it all out for me. I took her some peaches and put her new fan together that I bought earlier in the week. She said she had been crying off and on since my sister left. When I left her she was laughing and smiling and feeling much better. She just called to tell me how wonderful the peaches were. She put them over ice cream and was in heaven.

Dinner with my GFs was so much fun. We warned the waitress that we would be boisterous, we did not disappoint on the front. Such wonderful, loving and intelligent women and super funny!!! Finished freezing the peaches and kept 6 to eat fresh. Will end up with about 5 quart bags full of frozen slices. Will make a pie, cobbler or crisp this weekend.

I have rattled on enough so will sign off for the night. Early appointment with oral surgeon, grocery and pack the car and I am out of here. May or may not check in this weekend.

Janet- I had to go look at what you meant by the striptease. Lol. That was supposed to be grey stripe. Lol. This kindle does have a mind of its own! You do sound very relaxed.

Patti- So glad you went by and cheered your mom up and she enjoyed the peaches so much. Mothers love all their children and dispair when any of them are unhappy, even if of their own doing. So I am glad your sister is gone. I'm sure Susie will fill you in on her visit with her.

Busy day with a stop by the podiatry and then home to pack for Panama City! So excited to see my dad and meet with my high school cronies.

The movie was just hilarious and captivating. I see why this is a huge hit for Disney.

Ill check back when I can.

    HI All-
Yes it has been a week- up and downs and yes the stress continues to run high. I'm dealing with someone who is very depressed their meds have caused paranoia and high anxiety so life is not all the fun from time to time.
I know it is not my issue but I do ride the depression train up and down too-
On a good note Mom is arriving at some point today for six weeks- so wonderful to have her with me. My step dad will be OK I hope. I'll be cooking a lot and waiting on him too.
The wedding is tomorrow and SO looking forward to seeing the witch in action. The good news Rick's mom is going and has agreed to use the wheel chair. As its a long walk to the ceremony site.
The new book cover will be revealed on Sunday- so excited to share it with you all very soon. Check FB on Sunday by dinner time.
Food has been horrible and I must find a way to get this under control..... I can't fit into my capri's they are just too tight. So mad at myself.
Karla- how was the eye doctor?
Patti- good for you taking care of you mom and overlooking your sister's issues.
Janet- sorry about the AC issues but glad you're trip was successful
MaryLynn- doing the happy dance for your son
Suzi- loved your view from the porch
Bert- we're getting your heat over the weekend. But we don't have central AC- not typical in the part of the country.
Need to run but I have a good bfast and lunch planned.
I'll check back in and I plan to take a short walk or bike ride tonight. If Mom is up to it we'll walk together.
Thanks for still being here and so supportive. Each one of you is a treasure to me.
    Cindy
