    Hi guys!
I couldn't update my weekly progress as I am still fighting knee pain and swelling. Finally it is clear that it's the initial stages of osteoarthritis. The only way out is rest and weight loss and of course a good diet. I am still doing OMAD on most days. So even if I may not update, I am not off my path. :)

I have OA in my hip, just diagnosed in June. Was pretty depressed about it for a few days, but have accepted it now. I’m not getting the pain anymore since I taking the large amount of turmeric, so that helps. I also did 3 big mountain hikes in Colorado last week, so I don’t feel like my life is totally over and I should just give up and sit on the couch for the rest of my life (I kind of thought something along those lines when I first got the diagnosis!).

Weight loss and exercise are the best remedies for the disease though, so you’re doing the right thing...

I have a rare form of OA that is early onset - I was diagnosed at 17 and I just turned 30 on Sat, so I feel your pain...it's not fun, but the good news is that you learn to live with it.

Ugh, I feel for you... So do you have it in all your joints or is it specific to just some?

Technically, all of them, but the only ones that really bother me are my knees, hips, and my left shoulder....every once in a while my ankles, but that has mostly gone away since I listened to my Dr and stopped wearing heels LOL.

I just read an article that stated that resistant starch (slow digesting starch) is beneficial for OA.

Heels are evil, beautiful but evil... I have whole closet full of them that I never wear. :'(

Sorry that so many of your joints are affected, that totally sucks!!

Meh - it's one of those things that I've gotten used to...the only time I really even notice it is if I get a bad flare up, but that's only maybe once a month, so it's no biggie...also I refuse to take pain meds so I just smoke instead :)

Smoking does cause vitamin C loss I believe which could have an effect on joint health I would think. Not going to bug you about it.

Reports are here. Everything is fine except my ESR level. Its 40 while the normal range is 0 to 30..will bw seeing my doc this weekend. Any suggestions? I googled and found that avoiding inflammatory foods ia the key. Will possibly need to cut out carbs as one of the main dietary changes. Anyone experienced this? My knee is really stiff and swollen :(

Hey girl if you are dealing with inflammation you should check out a whole foods plant based diet, it helps TREMENDOUSLY, i suggest watching the documentary "What the Health" on netflix, its amazing :)

BTW cutting out carbs is the worst idea ever, the most inflammatory foods are actually highly acidic foods like meat, dairy, eggs which have a huge impact on the body. Sorry i dont mean to be pushy here or anything but plant foods have no inflammatory effects on the body like potatoes, vegetables, nuts, fruits, etc.

Thank you so much everyone for your suggestions and well wishes. I am truly glad to have all the support. I am going strong and have started low impact exercises like leg raises and all which strengthen the muscles around the knees without putting weight and pressure on them. I have accepted that I have OA but the good news is that it is manageable with weight loss and exercise. I hope to update you all with better news next time :) And yes, OMAD is still working for me.

Hi Everyone! I hope all of you are doing well.
Wanted to update you all that I actually had a 9 mm of broken cartilage floating in my knee joint which had been causing all the trouble for the past 2 months. It was possibly caused by one of my workouts. I had to get an arthroscopy done to have it removed along with a lot of synovial fluid and inflamed tissue. I am now recovering from the procedure. I couldn't continue with OMAD due to my medications. I have gained a few pounds of course because of going away from OMAD, but I am sure i will be back on track soon. Looking forward to updating you all next time :)
