I've never put enough thought into challenges to have an opinion on how they work. I think you're doing great staying motivated on your own. You've had a busy couple of months and here you are, back at it.

How do you feel, overall, on OMAD? Better, same, not well? Maybe if you shifted your focus on your overall well being, you won't be so down about the weight coming off slower? Maybe you'll be in the 140s, maybe you won't. Will not getting there by your bday stop you from continuing on? I don't think so!

Sometimes I think we get too focused on quick results and we end up frustrating ourselves. Look at all the wonderful moments you've enjoyed these past few months as a slimmer you. Did it matter that you weren't at goal? Would you go back and be super strict and miss out on all those times with your loved ones with a lot of food in the picture? You are a beautiful woman with a beautiful spirit, even if you just stay in the 150s and it takes awhile to get through, nothing will change that.

It's great to have goals, but when breach the barrier from obese, to overweight, then less overweight, weight loss slows and I think 12 pounds in a month may be a bit too ambitious. It's okay to try, but only if you make peace in your mind that you won't beat yourself up if you don't.

    Hugs Sweet Lady!

I agree with Sandy - especially as you are so close to your goal - it's just going to naturally come off more slowly. I guess what you need to think about is are you going to beat yourself up if you DON'T get to where you want by whatever date...

Having said that, if the challenge is just to post your weight every day for 10 days for the accountability, then that might be good. I do that and sometimes it does make me re-think some choices... Do I REALLY want that extra glass of wine or am I just being greedy - do I really want to post a possible gain tomorrow on MFP? It obviously doesn't always stop me as evidenced by my large gain last weekend, but I think it does help a bit...

You both are right and don't get me wrong, I am happy with my progress and will stay the course no matter what. I just know that I could be further along in my weight loss journey had I not gotten off track along the way. This challenge is just to help to keep me from making those compromises that set me back. I want to see how I do following the program without any deviations. If I do everything right and don't make my goal then I will be happy. I just get discouraged because I see where I am and where I could be if I had not given in and eaten off plan.

I decided to make today a normal OMAD day. Below are yesterday's meal and today's meal.

Today's meal: Eggplant parmesan sandwich, salad, and chocolate kale shake. I pressed down a bit too hard on the panini and smashed it, but it was still super delicious.

Yesterday's meal: Dominos thin crust mushroom, onion, and spinach pizza, salad and marble brownie.

Today's official weigh in results 160.7. A scale gain of 1.2 pounds for the week. Trending weight showed a loss of 1.4 pounds for the week and a loss of 1.1% body fat.

I am looking forward to getting back to the OMAD basics starting today and am hoping to have a steady downward trend.

It was a good meal. We were having VBS at our church and it was a camp out theme. The children made s'mores, but it was after my meal so I did not get any. I am thankful for the will to resist and came out on top this morning with a 1.3 pound loss. :D:)

Tonight's meal. I was actually able to sit down to eat at 6:06pm today. I only made the salad today, my sister prepared the food for the rest of the meal and I got the lemon cake circles from a co-worker at work today.

Salad, collard greens, creamed corn, peach cobbler, lemon cake circles, and chocolate kale shake

Both meals look DIVINE. I'm so looking forward to you going back to eating meat so that I can just skim my eyes over your pictures and not look properly... :p I study all your vegetarian ones in minute detail! And drool...

When I go back to eating meat, I will be just eating it on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so there will be plenty more meals for you to drool over.

Ok, I think you might be a vegetarian genuis! I can't even see why you'd go back to meat with all the amazing things you come up with. I've realised something about people who can cook (you) and people who can't (me) - you have way more variety of things on your plate. You make side dishes whereas I just make one thing in one pot.

If I have a salad, that's all I have. Or if I had mac and cheese, I wouldn't have anything else with it.

That's why your meals are so much better than mine and look so amazing.

I'm totally going to try and remember that in the future and think of a couple of things to have on the side.

I think my motivation for the side dishes is to fill my plate. I know my plate is going to be half salad and I have to have room for my dessert if I am having one so I think of what else I can have to complete my plate.

I truly am enjoying my meatless time this month and am definitely going to have some meatless days from here on out. I am thinking 4 meatless days and 3 days where I can eat meat if I choose. Right now I am not missing meat.
