Yep, you and Sharon have the same taste somewhat in foods. I've mentioned before how she would eye my lunches and say..."that looks good! I wouldn't eat it but it looks good"...yes...that's pepper...I had a handful of frozen pepper/onion blend left and tossed that in and the stewed tomatoes. I use a lot of that pepper blend. For a soup done of bits and pieces...uhm...scraps of things, it was really good!

I did go ahead and place a delivery order. Only because my bedside fan gave up on me! My delivery person crushed my bread and box of quart bags by putting them in my cart first...It was a bigger order than normal as I'd run out of several things but that's OK..Like my ice, sour cream, picante....now I do need to do a meal plan and eat that produce! I will give it a good go!

I got another blessing today! I got my new lease to sign and again...no increase! Awesome! That's such a gift. My cable "package" went up $10, I did get the COLA raise on my SS so it still balances out and I am so thankful. This makes 5 years since my last rent increase....Hooya!

I got a message from Natasha and she and hubby can come on Thursday when he gets off work...to put my headboard together and mount it, do my bed skirt for me and get my bed back together properly. It will be after 4:00.

Kim, I got the book Ben in Trouble and thought of you! I had read a couple of the Titus Ray ones and didn't realize they were related. I like them. As I am reading it, it all seems familiar, like I have read it already...if so....here's round 2! Thanks for the tip on them.

I am wanting a proper burger....like this! Hope you enjoyed yours....and the sweet tater fries. Yum!

Mark puts a lot of stuff into each chapter, and one thing I noticed is that he uses "immediately" a lot. They got things done!

I'm sorry about your plateau. Have you tried changing things up a bit? Eat your lunch at supper time, or change the protein to something that you haven't been eating but is still safe. I've heard that our bodies get used to something and don't respond to it like it had been, so we need to shake it up. Different exercise routines, food changes, etc.

Oh, I meant to mention this last time, but I didn't see our weight thread last time I got on. It's probably there, but like often happens with me (especially in our pantry) something can be right in front of my nose and I just don't see it! LOL!

We have about 6" of snow and it's still snowing here. We usually just get a dusting that quickly melts so this is new for us here. We did get more snow when we lived in Hickory, and it was usually ice when we lived in Texas, and in TN, this much snow (on the plateau) wasn't strange, but this is new! Beautiful, but keeping warm is a challenge! I have a pair of fleece lined sweats (looks like a sheep inside) and they are really warm. I rarely have a chance to wear them, so this has been nice. My legs are staying nice and warm! LOL!

    Love y'all very much.

Am doing well but need to get a bit more serious about what goes into my mouth. I have not lost yet this month but have gained 1/2 a pound - so need to work on that for sure

I can't find the weight thread either so I will put up a new one. Nice to have a place to keep a record of it.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.

Here's another passage about answered prayer that I really like, Marilyn:
1Jn 5:14  Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Our Pastor did a blog about prayer that is really good too: I'm going to leave out the passages written out, it would be just too long, but you can look up the verses.
09/22/24 SOME CONDITIONS FOR ANSWERED PRAYER

I have preached and taught for over fifty nine years. I have only posted on Facebook for fifteen years. My series of blogs (Pastor D. L. Gould Musings) contains almost 15,000 ministry posts, which I have made since 2009.

I have preached and taught and written thousands of times more during those fifty years. I have addressed the issue of CONDITIONS TO ANSWERED PRAYERS many times, but I don't have a written copy to share with you. I often use my own writings, since I know they are well researched and Biblical. Sometimes, when I don't have my own writings I refer to those who are recognized for their work, life and contributions to the ministry.
I searched online for lists of conditions. Here is a quick overview of some of the conditions for answered prayer which are recognized by other believers, including George Muller in his "14 Conditions of Answered Prayer," to which I refer. Muller is remembered for various ministries (evangelism, orphanage work, co-founder and founder of Brethren ministries and PRAYER WARRIOR). Other great warriors in prayer were Praying Hyde, Andrew Murray and John Wesley, just to name three.

I encourage you to read the lives of great Christians in history. It is one of the most important things you can do to broaden your understanding of Christian living.
The following are conditions of answered prayer that I have found through out the Bible:
    PRAYING FOR GOD'S GLORY (John 14:13); (1 Cor. 10:31).
PRAY IN JESUS NAME (John 14:6); (1 Tim. 2:5); (John 14:13-14).
ASK ACCORDING TO HIS WILL (Luke 22:42); (Matt. 6:10); (1 John 5:14-15).
    OBEY AND ABIDE (1 John 3:22); (John 15:7); (1 Cor. 2:16)
ASK IN FAITH, BELIEVING (Mark 11:22-24); (Mark 9:23); (James 1:6-8); (Heb.11:6).
DON’T ASK AMISS (IN THE WRONG WAY & WITH WRONG MOTIVE) (James 4:2-3).
    DON’T HARBOR SIN
If we have unconfessed sin, God will not hear.
    (Psalm 66:18); (Isaiah 59:1-2); (Isaiah 1:15).
    FORGIVE OTHERS (Mark 11:25-26).
ABIDE IN THE WORD OF GOD
If you abide in the Word of God, you will surely ask things that are in the will of God.
    (Prov. 28:9); (John 15:7).
    PERSISTANCE
Persevere and be persistent in your prayers! (Luke 11:5-10); (Luke 18:1-8); (Matt.15:21-28).
    DELIGHT IN GOD (Psalm 37:4).
WAIT ON GOD (Isaiah 64:4); (Psalm 27:14); (Psalm 37:7).

Stay warm! Know you are loved and thought of often!

I hope everyone is doing alright. I'm doing better today than I've done all week long - praise the Lord! Still pain, but not nearly to the extent of the past six days.

I heard yesterday that there is quite a bit of double pneumonia going around. Eek. I will definitely wear a mask when I go to get my MRI and stay in whenever it isn't necessary for me to go out! My NP hasn't said anything more about my getting a pneumonia vaccination - it was ordered for me, but then I got pneumonia the day before and was told by the doctor I saw that we should hold off on that. It's been three months since I got well from that bout, and at least a month since my last bout, so I should be okay to get one. I guess I will when I see her for my follow up appointment. I just called the NP's office and set up another follow-up date! I just have to try to stay well until the middle of February.

The days are getting a bit warmer, today it's in the low 40's, so we are getting some melting. Each day is supposed to get a bit warmer. We ultimately got 6-9 inches. I think that there was about 7 inches on our front deck!

Have a wonderful weekend y'all. Love you

Hello Ladies...I've been lurking about...just laying low for several days. I need an infusion of strength and stability and major pain relief. I had a rough night last night with very little sleep so my nap today will be most welcome and refreshing.

Natasha's kids were exposed to the flu and woke up sick this morning so she has to reschedule and I am so fine with that since I am feeling beat up myself and surely don't want exposure. I would rather wait for her....as I was impressed by her and her work ethics. So we are in a holding pattern until she gives the all clear and we will go again.

I need to get the trash out while we have a nice day. It's sunny and expected to reach 65 today. Tomorrow, another cold front slips in with some freezing drizzle...."frizzle" according to a local weatherman. I have all but one bag of trash in the car...so need to slip out to the dumpster and deal with it all for this round.

Prayers for us all...for protection, provision and power to carry thru. Love you!

Oh my, be sure to do it today so you won't have the opportunity to slip and fall in that frizzle tomorrow!

Hurting a little bit less today in my SI and hip, but the leg is still aching and hurting whenever I move it - boohoo! I praise the Lord for the relief I've had!

A friend is coming over this afternoon and we are going to go over an old song, and then a new one she and I collaborated on. I haven't heard the tune yet so hope I can do it. I wrote a song in 2022, but it goes too high for me to be able to sing it well! I wrote another one earlier last year and also wrote the tune, but we are trying to get the chords figured out for it - some are kind of rough to figure out. I'm working on another one as well. It's called, JUST TWO SIDES. The narrow way and the broad way (no fence in between); God or satan, no other choice; righteousness or wickedness, again, nothing in between. If you aren't walking God's Way God's way, you aren't on His Way! There are a ton of preachers out there now who are saying that you just can't be free from sin, you have to sin every day in word, thought and deed; yet Jesus came to set us free - if He sets us free we are free indeed. He came to destroy the works of satan! Those are all biblical truths. Why open the cage and then not let you come out? I satan stronger than Jesus that He can't deliver us from his hand? Not my Jesus! We just have to be willing to be set free. The other way is just so against the nature of God that the Bible teaches. Oh dear, I'm soapboxing again.

Have a wonderful weekend and time with Jesus! Love you gals.

I did! Wow....I was so grateful for God's strength for that chore! Shhh....it was 3 weeks worth! As I was preparing to get it done...I prayed for God's help for the big, big job and said "but YOU...are a way bigger God!" It was all I got done actually, except to finally get some rest. I am feeling much better this morning but just got up at 10:30 so I did sleep very well last night.

Soapbox away, Love! That's a great message and will be a great song! There needs to be more truth speaking in these last days. There are so many who "provide a fence"....for the multitudes to sit on, making them feel comfortable or safe, requiring no real commitment, obedience, discipline or heart conversion. God knows their names, hearts and deeds....as He knows ours.

Wow....the frizzle didn't happen last night and it's 38 already, on the way to 50. Hooya! Looks like we will have mid 50's to low 60's for the week and that makes me happy. I'm happy with sunshine or rain....since I can stay inside no matter the weather....I am blessed indeed!

Continued prayers for us all, with our assorted needs. God is aware of each one and draws us close to comfort us. Love you lots, my precious friend! Be blessed and strengthened in this new day.

Oh, I'm so glad that you were able to get that job done! What a great night's sleep (here's how I started spelling that - slle... say what? Dyslexia much?)!

I had several days where my pain was mostly in my leg. Occasionally my SI or hip would hurt, but not for long. God is merciful, God is good!

Well, most of our snow is gone and it's been raining today. Everything should be gone by tomorrow.
Our practice went well on Saturday, but my voice got tired after parts of three songs. The "allergy throat" keeps me hoarse and congested in my throat so I can't go for long, usually one song will do me in, and if it is in that range where my voice doesn't really want to work it will go even faster.
I found a verse in one of my songs that is going to need some changing - it doesn't fit with the tune very well, but she did an awesome job trying to get it in the meter!

Well, time to go rest a bit and get some lunch! I will have some of my chicken chili - yummers!

    Love y'all.

I hear you! I'm glad for spellcheck....as I miss a lick quite often. Doesn't help if it's an actual word tho.

I think of you when I think of chicken chili, Kim. I have a couple of packets of seasoning for some in my stash drawer....need to make some. I still have a couple of chili and my container of cooked pork in the freezer.
I had my last container of beans from the freezer last night. I have a bag of 15 bean soup mix and a bag of black eyed peas for some future cooking sprees...my favorite are whatever I have cooked at the moment if I don't have the pinto or baby Lima beans. Yummy!

I often wake up with bits of a song. Usually Love lifted me, or others from my past. I can well imagine being winded at trying for the full thing! You gave it a good go. That makes it special...being one of your own.

My major pain has been my tailbone/back with the numbness increased quite a bit of late. I can't avoid sitting on the painful spot! Laying down does help. I've not made progress with my goals for this month, sad to say. I haven't used my machine in a week now. I was down for maybe 5 days of the last 9....but I still have hope of some recovery and relief. God is awesome, always!

I'm off to watch some news and putter about for dinner. Optimum and Nexstar got their squabble settled so we got back CBS and News Nation....hooya!

I rarely watch ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN. They are all very liberal and rarely tell the truth. Fox isn't always reliable either, but at least they are conservative and give us a more accurate view of what is going on in the world. There one called Right Broadcasting (RBS) I believe the name is, and they have a Christian slant to their reporting which I really like. We often watch them on YouTube. So glad you got your streaming figured out. We are trying to figure out right now the cheapest way to go for our internet and mobile phone. We think we have an idea which will save us around $50 a month! woohoo!

Praise the Lord, the weather is getting a bit warmer and the snow is almost gone. We had rain last night and this morning, so it's a bit dreary outside, but that's okay, it's warmer! Yay!

Have a great rest of your day. Spend good time with Jesus!

Ours is the local news etc....and I still watch The Old and the Listless sometimes. I've been known to forgo that and take a nap. I like Lester Holt on the nightly news at 5:30. I do watch some of News Nation but when all the political claptrap starts as it always does...I am done.

If I could give up my home phone, I could save some too. That one bill (so called bundle) is now over $200 a month and I pay $75 for internet alone, in addition! Ack! Due to my hearing....I keep the phone and pay for the privilege of scammer/spammer calls daily. Oh well.
I use a TracFone and pay by the year for my service, have over 9000 minutes available....LOL. No way would I remember to pay monthly. I have to bundle 3 to get a "deal"...yeah right....so if I cancel the internet with optimum, (that I have no access to, due to faulty wiring) I lose my phone. I do put a frowny face in my check ledger each month when that payment is drawn from my account. Vexus Wireless gets one too. : (

Someone, probably Mary...has put a box on top of the heating unit under the stairs again and Junior and Sister have claimed it as home. So....I sneak fed them this morning. I had a can of the cheaper tuna in there. I won't part with my albacore! I ordered some cat food. Since I am up early most days, I can slip them something a few times a week. I saw a black kitty getting a drink from the pool when I went out to collect my dish. I'm so glad to see them, and see that Junior's leg has healed.

We are having very nice weather here. We have and expected high of 79 on the way next week. WOW! I love it!
Have a lovely day at your spots....prayers for us all in this new day.

Amen, great verse. You're such a softy where cats are concerned - well, people too! (blush)

I couldn't believe it, my phone was locked and Verizon can't get it unlocked. They want to take it back to factory settings - NO THANK YOU! We are also getting a $20 discount for our internet because we are bundling, so our bill will be less than $100 for internet and mobile. We had been paying $180 with two different companies. That's what we'll pay for 1 year, then we'll see what happens when the promo is over. It was refreshing, they didn't try to sell us streaming! We used to have it but then things got so woke we just quit watching and dropped it. We may go to VidAngel which is $10 a month and it deletes all the bad words and bad scenes in a movie. You can control the amount you want deleted. There aren't a lot of modern movies I have a desire to watch though! LOL!

Have a great evening. I am going to attempt to go to Bible Study tonight! I'll take some pain meds before we go though.

Oh no! How frustrating....I hope you get that sorted. I rarely use my phone, as you know....but it needs to work when I do use it! The only time I've had trouble with mine was 5 years back when it crashed and I lost all contacts and my FB set up and have no idea what my pin is to access voice mail so I don't. My last one, not a smart phone, was tossed in the dumpster by accident when cleaning out my car.

I had a boo boo last night in the kitchen. I'd put my skillet on with some water to do some veggies, was popping my meal in the microwave and turned back to a fire! Yikes! The soup I'd made that morning had boiled over and there was oily residue in the drip pan...and flames were flaring! I managed to get the burner turned off, skillet to the sink, dish cloth dunked to put it out....without burning myself, thank God! Of course that set the smoke alarm off twice before it was dealt with,

Here's my Junior with his breakfast...LOL....

Beautiful kitty! It's amazing how quickly a fire can happen. Praise the Lord I've never had one, although I have had smoke from a too hot pan! LOL. Wade says that my cooking style is "put it on high and get it done fast". I rarely do any cooking now and at least Wade is enjoying it. I do help at times, but right now standing up is difficult.

Woohoo, the guy at Spectrum was able to unlock my phone so everything is done! We will save $90 a month for a year! It's weird not having Verizon, we've been with them for 21 years, but they are just too expensive. We both overheard another customer being helped and it sounds like when our year ends the second phone will only be $30 a month, which will end up saving us $60 a month from what we have been paying. Praise the Lord. I didn't expect such huge savings!

Praise the Lord too, my leg is hurting, but the hip and SI joint have quieted for most of the time, just the occasional twinge. God is good!

Well, I'm going to try and walk a little before lunch! Love y'all.

Oh yes, indeedy! I got the burner pan, stove and skillet cleaned up yesterday. Still need to scrub the bottom of my new skillet, as the flames blackened it. I was glad I didn't panic...and make more of a problem!

Thank you...I love them all and even bully boy was beautiful....I haven't seen him in a long time now. Sister was at the door this morning but no Junior.

Awesome! So glad that issue got worked out and the savings! Woohoo...every bit counts for sure!

My computer crashed on Thursday, starting with a keyboard issue that led to a black out and would not turn on. Due to my pain/mobility issues and the inability to take it to the shop...I ordered a new one from Amazon (I get refurbished as this one is ...and it's almost 5 years old with only one run in with the hard drive being replaced)
Then...while unplugging it yesterday, to make room for the new one, coming today....Hooya...it came on! I will keep the new one...just need to make a space for the box in the closet...

I was SO dreading the password trauma of a new computer...and need to find a way to recover them for all my "play stations". This is me...with passwords and assorted other things....
    jgmjdcqkralx.png

My heart has been heavy, with the sorrows of the crashes that have happened the past few days and loss of so many in a moment of time. The fires, and such tragic news daily is beyond comprehension...but to be expected in these last days. My heart and prayers go out to those families affected and I pray above all else for salvation and a turning back to God while there is time.

We start a new month today! January wasn't much for accomplishment but I have been aware of what needs shoring up and working on. I am so very thankful for the blessings of God....so very many...and for His mercy, love, forgiveness and care. I am abundantly blessed!

I'm off to get some chores done...I have my list ready and coffee finished...so am done dallying, I think....Love and prayers for us all. Be blessed best where needed most.

WOW....we are expecting 87 on Monday! Oh my...I love it!
