hmmmm..... my method so far is FAR from recommended.... errr.... move till it either things stop hurting or you can't keep moving? -- once this almost resulted in total stranding due to no appendages being step-able on! But thankfully ouchie #1 came sufficiently back in operation so that I could complete the dragging of ouchie #2 back into a chair and then back into bed!2
-
I"m kinda doing that. I only have problem with left food now because a few years ago I just kept moving and the plantar fascii on the right just tore off the bone. Hurt like the dickens. Was in a cast for 8 weeks. But now NO MORE plantar fasciitis on the right foot !2
-
Ok. That sounds.... Extreme.
Don't do that! π‘1 -
It was in the middle of renovating my bathroom. Which was a full blown crazy mess. Had to finish in a cast. But thank goodness older son stepped in to help so I could get a floor in place and didn't have to continually step in and out of floor joists. Twas just after this stage that the foot gave up. Nasty surprise under the bathroom floor. I knew it would be bad - but didn't know how bad until I got there. The bathroom is a completely separate addition - with no access to the "underneath" except through the floor. (old house - originally built with no bathroom )

Have to show you some later stage pictures so you don't send in a rescue team this is actually the stage where the foot let go.

here its pretty well done...its a very small space and holds the water heater and washer/dryer. It was A LOT of exercise!

The crazy little hanging plant has grown like mad in the past four years! (not sure why I would question the poor plants mental health but apparently I am)

OMG Laurie- that is one gorgeous bathroom. Love the tub, the storage, just everything. I canβt imagine doing all that yourself (with a bit of sons help).
I sympathize with the lack of underneath access to plumbing. Houses here in Texas are built on concrete slabs. No basements. So any plumbing remodeling/disaster requires breaking under the concrete.2 -
Holley *kittens* (w)rap! OMG. Are you trying to get on one of the renovation shows? This is impressive space improvement... hmmm..... I think Laurie needs to move a bit towards the west... come on by for a blank canvas to play with! <no, no... I'm just providing "free" exercise facilities, that's all: save on gym membership!!!>2

Son installed drain pipes and put down first layer of plywood so I could navigate in a cast - with no notice and him working full time, his help was so very much appreciated!
I'm retired though PAV. Did work of this sort (not to quite this extent for others) for a decade and a bit - but the heavy stuff messed up my knee and really messed up a shoulder, so no more lugging/holding heavy stuff unless I want to pay the piper and the piper is way way way toooo expensive.
The bathtub is wonderful, Yooly. That room is only 4 1/2 feet wide - so no room for a decent (normal) sized tub. And I love baths - not showers. This 4 foot wide horse trough is deep! and it doesn't slope in so I can straighten my legs and have a "soak."
Wow - to have to deal with breaking a concrete slab to make changes is a crazy BIG DEAL! Can't imagine having to do that all the time.
Funny - my foot gave up the ghost with the bathroom reno. Shoulder during the kitchen reno the next year. Sons stepped in to help me with that one too. Gotta love kids who are willing to help Some great pictures with that one - for another day2 -
I had plantar fasciitis last year. It lasted for 6 months before I went to see a podiatrist. He gave me a few shots into my heel over a few months and I havenβt had a problem since. I also got some crazy expensive inserts for my shoes from them. Totally recommend. The shots sucked but I was numbed for them. Barely being able to walk sucked more!2
-
I might go that route. Still able to walk most days. And it really really inspires me to lose.2

Iβm hoping that once Iβm in a removable brace for my wrist fracture I can get back to the gym. At least for treadmill and leg work. My balance issues require I hold a bar while on the treadmill but donβt feel too confident with the cast on. Iβm managing to take care of some housework and things like laundry. But holiday eating and lack of exercise are a scary combination!1
-
Sending you strength, Yooly. (Don't count on much but some!)1
-
plus you're burning a tiny bit more to make new bones (did you eat your yogurt fluff?)0
-
Just tell me the location of those cookies and I'LL SAVE YOU!!!!!!!2
-
I won't volunteer because.... cookies! I mean I'm bad enough around chocolate! But cookies? Especially if you combine the...
Err, yes. Metamucil chocolate cookies two for 100 Cal are EXCELLENT Christmas baking!
Or confronting cookies only after a full meal, i.e. not when hungry or even peckish!1 -
OK Yoolie, new exercise... run around the kitchen chanting: "freeze the cookies, freeze the cookies, frrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeze the cookies".... think ride of the valkyries or bugs bunnie, whichever comes first!2
-
Cookies are mostly distributed and/or frozen. So they arenβt looking at me begging to be eaten.
Cast comes off Thursday to be replaced by a brace for three more weeks. Iβm hoping that Iβll be able to get back to the gym after Christmas.2 -
Not sure what it means that my first glance of your post got: "Cookies are mostly disturbed and frozen"
And I immediately started ANSWERING OUT LOUD: Of course they are DISTURBED, you FROZE them: HOW CAN YOU EAT THEM WHEN FROZEN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
And then I realized that you weren't quite able to hear me say that!
And that you had distributed them instead of disturbed them!1 -
Definitely distributed! I do hate autocorrect- but it does make some interesting choices.
So the remaining cookies are resting in the freezer. Donβt kid myself though. Frozen cookies are pretty damn good too.
Still need to get back to the gym soooooon.2 -
But are they frozen cooked or UN-cooked? un-cooked have an extra step to go, am I right-ish?0
-
Last night I rowed through "Papa was a Rolling Stone" - I thought I was pretty pooped for 5 minutes of rowing - but dang, that song is twelve minutes long!
Oh I am so indolent and sluggist these days. I need some flames beneath me!2 -

Who knew βPapa Was a Rolling Stoneβ is twelve minutes long? I must not have heard that version. Iβm sure youβll get over your indolence soon in Newfoundland.1 -
Running around keeping up with the boy! π1
-
I think a short version of the song was played on radio - the original has a really really long funky intro
The Boy is eight now....probably getting a bit indolent himself1 -
Back to the gym tomorrow morning. Iβm over my cold and the wrist brace is off permanently. I still have to be careful with hand weights but eager to get back. Iβve lost a lot of momentum in the last 7 weeks.1

Your momentum will roll forward unstoppable!ππ€ΈββοΈππ€ΈββοΈ1

Owwww- the gym hurt this morning! π1
