Kicked out a 5k this morning.0

3.73 miles with club tonight. Struggled a bit due to my lungs still trying to get over a nasty cough, but I managed to push through and ran it all.0

Hoping for test run #2 tonight. I know my issue isn't gone as I can still trigger the sensation, but hoping it might be ok for smaller runs. I was going to go last night, but somehow I strained one of the tendons associated with my big toe while I slept on Sunday night O.o So didn't feel wise to try and run on it.0

no run, wedding stuff to do and can't be too tired
and my left hip started aching. I'll be stretching it out today0 -
Two years ago, I was training for a 10k and ran 6 miles in 1:08:07. Last year, training for a half marathon and ran 12 miles in 2:07:31. Yesterday, 6 weeks post-op, I ran 2 miles in 22:43. I'm happy with that!1

Still niggled although no pain. So small improvement.0

no run, yoga tonight0

Spent an hour on the stationary bike yesterday. Brought running gear, but a storm is headed our way, so may end up at the gym. (I'm still not comfortable running in they gym yet, since the only falls I've had running were in the gym!)0

we have a storm coming in tomorrow too. I'll be in the gym0

I ran a 34 minute 5k this morning. Not fast but at least I did it. I want to get to a 10 minute pace.0

3.34 miles this evening, pace is slowly getting quicker.0

Day two of my new marathon plan, 11km tempo session.
I'm over the mild leg pain from the race and more generally feeling a lot better.0 -
4.78 miles with 5mph/6mph intervals0
-
Gym for me yesterday, didn't want to fight the wind. I did 30 minutes of intervals on the elliptical.0

week 2, day 1 of b210K today!
Pace 6:18/km0 -
3.28 miles yesterday, but they were difficult, don't know why, obviously just a bad day.0
-
For the first time I did a sub 34 minute 5k. I know for most that's slow but I'm super pumped.0

Speed is relative @brant710 all of us here are slow compared to the WR holders. Good work on your 5k!
I was thinking exactly the same. Its pointless constantly comparing youself to others, there will always be those who are faster than you (and slower!), the only person you should be judging yourself against is you. As long as you're progressing and beating your own goals, then that's all that matters, no matter how fast/slow you are.

Hi guys, I was here last year and it helped me a lot to run 10k. Then I stopped running for the winter and now I am back for another season! Did a 5k race yesterday - I finished in 31 min and ready to start a 10 week journey to a 10k race on June 4!0

No I completely agree. I'm really excited with where I am but I want to get better. I'd like to get down to a 30 minute 5k and then I'm sure I'll want to go faster. That's the nature of challenging yourself.0 -

Great you want to improve Next time, try slower than my target, or slow for me, slower than I would like. That way it's relative to you.0 -

So first week of my Marathon cycle complete after a week off following the last race.
Four runs:- 7km easy paved on pavement in London
- 10km tempo on pavement in London
- 7km easy paced on hilly trails near home
- 18km easy paced on pavement near home
All pretty good and I took the opportunity to use my new trail shoes again offroad. IT was a fairly tight circular route as I wasn't sure if they'd contributed to my calf problem in February, so I left myself the option of bailing out if I started to have difficulties. All went well.
Weather this weekend has been vile, heavy rain, hail, gusty wind.
I also took a bit of time on Saturday to do some maintenance on my turbo trainer bike as I'm using that for a bit of cross training.0 -
4 miles tonight, my furthest continuous distance so far. Slowly moving forward.0
-
3 mile run yesterday in 34:20. PT gave me the okay to try the bike this week, on the trainer first, then short greenway or national park ride.
