i know Sara asked this a while ago, so i wanted to add it in here...

What do your screen names mean??

Mine is Coruscate... which means to shine brilliantly or to sparkle.

the sparkle thing is something i picked up, not sure how. i think it was just something someone called me or told me once... that i needed to sparkle a little brighter... or that no one cold take me sparkle away. so it just became my mantra. and i ended up writing a tiny little story about it too. its cute and kinda kiddish... but it fit with all the stuff i was/am going through.

    courscate - it!

Mine is kinda self explanatory -- a reminder to myself to constantly strive for more... more out of life and more out of myself. And 11 is just my favorite number

Funkygranola is an awesome name and Sarah is even better! LOL!! Then again, I'm biased.

    Courscate: to sparkle...I love it!!!

Strive4more is what we all need to do right?

Thanks for sharing! I think we have a few more names out there to explain.

BTW, hope you guys are not mad at me for the 320 mins of cardio. This is more cardio then all the other teams. I am trying for club 500 God help me. I will donate the 180 extra to whom needs it.

I am back in the game (finally) lol I didn't do my 30ds yet but I did walk and was on the elliptical, I'm at 158mins of work out today. I really want to do zumba but I'm still worried if I should :frown:

but as for my screen name its funny but I don't like skittles the candy lol but I loved bright colors and all in HS my friends would said I wanted to be a rainbow of colors and someone just started calling me skittles lol so I used it for my e-mail and added numbers to it

If anyone needs any help at all I will donate anything I have because everyone helped me so much.

Mine is a combo of the names my favorite people gave me. My BFF started calling me Tinkerbell the weekend we met, I called her Angelfish, though now 14 yrs later we usually just go by Tink and Fish. We're weird. Mom, well that's what the kids call me. M is my first name from my mom, and C is my last name from my husband. It all comes together nicely :-)

Sara- I think its good to make it more challenging every week! Our goal is to be more healthy right? Though I know not everyone has as much time as I do, but I will help out as much as possible :)

My username is from college. It was back when the Star Wars I-III were coming out. Everyone was big into what Star Wars character they were. I asked my lunch group which character I was and the whole table looked at me and said "The wookie". So K for my first name, a wookie.

I guess they all knew to "Let the wookie win!" LOL

I have kawookie on yahoo, google and wherever else I can grab it.

Thanks guys for the name explanations. I was wondering what your names all meant. Kim, I thought yours might be Star Wars related. Very cool!

I tried the golf exercise tonight and found it really really boring. It didn't seem very golf like either so I was disappointed. Sorry, I should have tried it out first before posting it. It's totally strength training/streching.

Posting from my phone at work so I'll be brief! The week's punishment is a quick circuit training routine:

1 min jumping jacks; 10 sit ups/roll ups/crunches; 1 min jump rope; 1 min side plank (30 sec each side); 5 burpees.

    via team Rick. Hot damn!

Is the punishment 1 circuit each day? Just want to make sure I do it right!

    Totals so far this week

    Cardio: 195/320
    Strength: 85/90
Punishment: 0/5? -- will start on those today!

Well crap.. is that one circuit per day? Is it 10 sit ups, 10 roll ups, 10 crunches? Or just 10 of one of them? What do we do if we dont have a jump rope? Does this count within out strength or within our cardio time? Or is it above and beyond that?

If you good intentions counted towards cardio, I would be doing GREAT!!!! Alarm clock set for 5am, clothes laid out.... 4:59am, my little guy starts throwing up. Get him cleaned up, sheets changed, calm him down... back to bed... 6am, my big guy throws up! Repeat this scenario at 7:30 and 8:30!!!

Does cleaning up vomit count for cardio time??

Oh, that sounds awful Funky! You get an A for effort.

I think we can wait for Cindy to chime in with the specifics of the punishment exercise. I was taking it as one circuit each day for 5 days. 10 crunches total but I have no idea. I would say that this could be an advance level exercise and not suited for everyone because we have beginner groups in the challenge.

Here's the punishment from Team Rick's captain. The good news is he decided that you only have to do it once this week and, as always, you can include it with your cardio or strength numbers.

Well that is welcomed news! I think I might still try to do one circuit a day because it definitely looks challenging.

Funky- that is no fun!! Definitely agree with Sara, A for effort!!

Uhhh..I'm guessing that the cardio listed for our group is a typo? 'Cause the other intermediate groups got 230 minutes, and the advanced got 260....but ours was 320. Please let that be a typo....thats a huge increase...Sara?Cindy?

    I don't think it is a typo.

I think this challenge was designed for all of us to work together as some people regularly go over minutes while other of us work hard to just to make the minimums. This week it is going to be a struggle to make the minimums for me. If I can sneak in extra cardio to help out the group, I totally will.

I have it all planned out though and have a 1/3 of my cardio and and almost 2/3 of my strength done. I know that Friday will be very difficult to get anything in so I am planning a heavy exercise day tomorrow and Saturday.

I have over 6 miles and 26 floors today on my fitbit. For a work day these are impressive numbers. :drinker:

Here you are!! I was wondering why nothing was showing up in my "Your Topic" heading--we rolled the thread!! Woot!!

    So, to catch up:

My screen name is Swedish. Hajen means "shark" and katt means "cat". Ages ago, as in 1999ish, I needed to make an email handle for message boards and subscriptions. Most of the words I was trying to use were already taken, so I combined the two. We are cat lovers, and there has been a running joke with me and sharks for a very long time. So, it suits me fine!

As for the cardio numbers this week, I am inadvertently racking up the numbers. My mom was visiting this weekend and forced me to spend hours walking around the mall. Just today, kid #1 had a field trip to a science museum. My cardio for the week as of tonight is:

Sunday: 3 hours at the mall, ugh
Monday: 40 min walking kids to school, 50 min treadmill session
Tuesday: 3 hours at science museum, 40 minutes walking kids to school, 20 min extra walk

I'm bummed I didn't get my treadmill session in this morning, but my legs are tired from all the walking. That puts me at a total of 510/320. Holy crap. I think I earned a brownie tonight.

It's not a typo. It's meant to be a push for the team as a whole. Many of us are trying for 500 mins of cardio this week so, if you can not make the 320 mins, I'm sure we can cover you. Yes, this is way above the advanced teams but it's only for one week and then we go back to the 220 min. It's meant to push us over the hump of the mid challenge and reach us closer to our goals. Mine is to lose 10 lbs and I only lost 1! I'm way behind. I promise to be nicer next week.

Migraines are back in full swing. I am trying desperately to get an appointment with a Neuro tomorrow (but it is looking unlikely). Pushed through this morning and got to the gym for an hour... I am possibly picking up a second hand recumbent exercise bike tonight so that could help immensely!

Got hit this morning with news of a friend's passing... my frustration tolerance is a zero and I am about ready to scream... that is all.
