Felt like I ate too much yesterday, but net calories were good and I got a lot of exercise. And I managed to stick to 1 glass of wine at dinner :drinker:

So far so good today. Calories seem to be on track, and I have a 4-mile run and 4-mile walk planned for this evening.

It's only my first day, but I like the Fitbit so far. It's cool how you can see your sleep activity, and I barely notice it on my wrist. I'm having trouble getting it to register the stairs in my house, though, and I'm a little disappointed that i can't see how much I go up and down them in a day.

ETA: I got the Flex, and apparently it doesn't track floors climbed :grumble:

Had a great run and walk, but then too much wine with/after dinner pretty much obliterated my deficit. The good news is my shiny new Fitbit says I did over 20,000 steps today (including my run)!

I bought some Yoplait frozen Greek yogurt bars in Honey Caramel flavor. 90 Cals and full of yum!

That's awesome! was that mostly from the run/walk or just being active throughout the day? I ask because I struggle to get even 10,000, even though I work on my feet.

    Yesterday:
Exercise: Couch to 5k Week 2 Day 2
    Logged everything: yes
    Met goal: yes.

Today's goal: eat some more vegetables. I usually eat pretty healthy and I know it's more about the deficit than what you eat, but I had a whole box of Kraft Dinner yesterday and now I feel kinda horrible

    Good day today.

Exercise: Yes, didn't want to go to the gym, but forced myself and then was really pleased I had made the effort.
    Logging: Yes, everything.
    Calories: Yes, under goal.

The next two days will be tricky as I'm back in hotels for a couple of nights and lots of free, bread-heavy food on offer.

Forgot to actually update yesterday, but I did my exercise and met my goal. Today did a day trip to the city and walked 18.5 km - I'm estimating how many calories I ate because I was eating out with no nutritional info available, but even using the highest-calorie generic Chinese food in the database I'm under. So I'll take it :)

Exercised: No - I think I will claim yesterday as rest day - I did no exercise and only 2,522 steps
    Logged everything: Yes
Met Goal: No - but I was only over by 15 calories

CoadyMarie - Eating out is always a struggle at how many calories I have actually eaten. Taking a good guess is all we can do. Congrats on staying under!

Yesterday: Did a 3-mile run in the morning, walked to the store and back, walked around a street festival all evening (and to and from the car--15 mins each way!--3 times), then ran a 5k fun run. Fitbit says I took over 32,000 steps! It also says I burned over 3,000 Cals. Not sure about that.I've only had it for a few days, but its daily calorie estimates seem pretty high. Ate about 2100, so whether or not it's overestimating, I had at least a 400-500 Cal/deficit.

Met goal: sort of. Ate right at maintenance but I had a deficit of about 800 on Thursday.

Tonight I have a buck and doe that I'm going to try and stay in moderation at. It helps that I'm driving so I won't be drinking.

Short workout yesterday and did okay on food until after dinner when husband decided he wanted beer and more beer. I went over considerably, but I don't think I ate enough the day before. I figure it was fuel for my 10-mile run this morning :) Going to try to lay off the food today to even things out a bit.

I am going for a long bike ride today. Hopefully todays exercise will make up for yesterdays extra calories for both of us.

Yesterday was good. Tons of activity (the 10-mile run plus a bunch of walking) and ate enough to feel satisfied, but didn't pig out. And weight is down today :drinker:

Today I'm planning a short bike ride with my hubby, a recovery jog with my dog, and some healthy grocery shopping.

Long bike rides are the best! Mine was very slow and leisurely, but we ended up going further than planned. 16.5 mi in about 1:45. I skipped the recovery jog I'd planned for the evening but did a longish dog walk instead to get my 10k steps in (ended up making it to 11k). Calories were under, too, which took a little effort because I burned less than usual but wasn't too difficult. I've been eating more on active days, so I think my body is happier with me overall

I try to get my 10,000 steps in but it has been much harder since I have been biking more - only 5 days over so far this month.

I do think having our bodies feeling better is great benefit of using MFP:smile:

5 mile run and a total of 15k steps (mostly from the run). Calories were over, but only by about 150. Dang mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich!

dancingj, I agree! It's nice to not feel like I'm fighting myself all the time

    Hey everyone!!

Newbie here, but I figured I will need all the help I can get since I have been stuck for a while now.

Some stats.. I am 32 yo female, 2 kids, January 1st I was 180lbs and set my goal weight at 140lbs. BUT I think I would like to see 135lbs. I have been stuck at 150 on the DOT for about a month now! Ok it's summer and I may drink a few beers on the weekends... and wine. Then I overeat. At least I am maintaining 150 no? haha!

So today I went to the gym, strenght training (I do the stronglifts 5x5 routine). Love it. Yesterday was an intense plyometrics/tabata style workout. I logged everything so far this week.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
    Have a great day :)

That's awesome progress! My high weight was mid- to high-180s (though that was at the beginning of college) and I'm currently 32 and shooting for 135, too  My motto is: "Lose, maintain, just don't gain!"

Yesterday was good for me. 20k steps including a 5.5 mi run and cals came in just under goal. I still felt hungry after dinner, but instead of the snack I wanted I had a fat free hot chocolate, and then I felt satisfied. Was proud of myself for that!

Today, I'm going to do trail run for the first time in a long time, and hubby is going to bike next to me (I don't really feel safe doing trails by myself). And I'm planning a long walk to the mall

Keep forgetting to actually come and check in... that will be my goal for this week.

Last week I did really well and met my goal every day. This week... well I had a serious sugar craving yesterday and gave in to some ice cream and a cupcake I found in the freezer, but I spread out logging the calories over 3 days so I should be good. Weird work schedule meant that I missed a couple workouts - I usually work nights but got switched to mornings, so I need to get in the habit of getting up earlier, because after work I have no motivation.

Tonight I have a buck and doe ....

Ummm .... I have no idea what that means.

It's a fundraiser part for a wedding - games, raffles, food, drinks etc. I had never heard of them either before I was invited.

I do Stronglifts too! :flowerforyou: Only started in May, but I'm loving it

CoadyMarie: nice!! I really love the program too. I started first week of June! :flowerforyou:

ekat120: thanks for the warm welcome! Great run that you did there, 5.5 miles! I run too. I am hoping to go tonight. although mine look more like 2 to 3 miles.. :)

Today I go to the gym - weight lifting, and after supper when the kids are asleep hopefully I'll have the energy to get a little run in.

Super active day yesterday, with a ton of walking (more than anticipated). Calories under goal. Today is a rest day (yay!). I'm pretty hungry, so I'm not optimistic about calories, but a day at maintenance would probably do me good.

I'm going to have to check out Stronglifts. I want to start back to weight lifting after my marathon in a couple months.

You definitely should, it's a real confidence booster :)

    Yesterday
    Exercise: 1/2 hour run/walk intervals
    Logged everything: yes
    Met goal: just barely

I have 3 days off this week so I'm finding it difficult to get as much walking in as I normally do.
