^^^ I will be happy to taste test those for you.
Some high school friends got together for dinner Saturday night. The friend who hosted had her daughter bake a chocolate cake for all the last quarter birthdays. It was too hilarious not to share. This is us all passed out drunk. She put her mom passed out on the table. It's not supposed to be anatomically correct, it's just that she had used a stick to hold the people together, and the stick happened to break off there. I'm in the red dress with no boobs (???) and the green is, well, hopefully you can figure that out. She did this in 4 hours. The cake was delicious!

And how accurate did the cake turn out to be?0 -

In my 20s it would've been pretty accurate, for me anyway. Except the boobs. I do have them! :bigsmile:0 -
Went out for breakfast and had a pumpkin waffle with pecans and vanilla ice cream. I totally meant to take a picture, but I was starving and forgot. Oops. It was really really good though.0

Whoo! I had to get gas today before work & decided to go to Giant since they have a gas station & grocery store & see if they had Turkey Hill Egg Nog ice cream since I had given up on finding the Talenti flavors. They didn't have the Turkey Hill flavor but I found all three Talenti limited edition flavors (Egg Nog, Peppermint Bark, & Pumpkin Pie).
I bought two of the Pumpkin Pie & one of each of the other flavors.
I also bought a package of Milano cookies in a Candy Cane flavor.0 -

At Wal-Mart I noticed they had Christmas Pringles in these flavors Pecan, White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, & Pecan. Anyone try these yet?0

Today Mr. Acrylics and I went to Savannah's Candy Kitchen on Jen's recommendation. We also hit up the competition: River Street Sweets. I wish I'd thought to take pictures of everything we got before we ate most of it, but we brought this home to split later-- it's a chocolate covered rice krispies treat. We had a plain one earlier that was to die for so I'm looking forward to it.

Yup - I also saw the Peppermint Bark but passed since I was so entranced by the pumpkin pie after searching for so long, and then there was the egg nog, too. I may go back for the Peppermint Bark.ILiftHeavyAcrylics wrote: »Today Mr. Acrylics and I went to Savannah's Candy Kitchen on Jen's recommendation. Well I'm sad to report that River Street Sweets wins in the category of best rice krispies treat by a landslide. However, the chocolate from both places was delicious.0 -

Those look awesome, Jen. I'm excited bc I'll be making my grandma's bread recipe for Thanksgiving. I rarely have an excuse to make it, since Mr. Acrylics and I can't eat it all before it goes bad.0

Thanks, the macros really suck on the cake but I could eat smaller servings lol
I have that problem with most of my bread recipes, so I sabotage all my husband's co-workers.
What kind of bread?0 -

Dinner rolls. It's a slightly sweet recipe made with lard and milk as the base. When I was a kid she'd make them every couple of weeks and I would ask for them for dessert.0 -

I had some alongside a sliver of store-bought pumpkin pie. Great pumpkin pie flavor in the gelato, but a little disappointed in the amount of mix-ins (crust) - almost none in about 3/4's of a serving. Maybe more to be found towards the bottom of the pint, but I think the same was reported by Francl or another poster. Still an overall thumbs up, and suspect pumpkin pie fans will enjoy!

I've gotten a couple of pints now of Talenti that either had pitifully few mix-ins or in which all the mix-ins were at the bottom. Sea Salt Caramel seems to have a real problem with that lately.

Deliciously decadent, chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache. This was the best cake I'd ever eaten, and best of all, I had it on my birthday in July. The only flaw of the cake is that it wasn't big enough for me. Slightly miffed that my piss poor photography skills don't do this cake justice at all.0
