Exercise and Weight Loss Challenges

A New Year and New Resolve! The first weigh-in for this challenge starts January 5th and the last will be February 23rd. Just record your weight on the 5th (date/weight) and track your food as well, with whatever method or program you choose. No other rules. Choose any food plan that works for you. My ultimate goal is to get down to 165 for my health. I don't want to be a skinny old lady or a fat old lady. I think 165 is just right. I give myself as long as it takes to get there. However, setting my deadline for June. Scroll down to the discussions and click the first one. Post your weight and goals there.0

I think this is about drinking a lot more water. Got a new 4-cup water cup that is very pretty and is making drinking water more attractive. Paid for by Patrick with the Starbuck's card he gave me for Christmas.0 -

Ate a big bowl of salty ramen for dinner so feel fine that I'm not seeing a loss. Goal for next week is to be in the 80's decade. Did not drink all my water the last two days.0 -

Weighing early this morning which seems to make a big difference (weigh less at 10:00), but have been wanting to wake earlier to snag more students that another early bird has been getting to first, apparently. Was 186.6 mid week so know I am heading in the right direction.0 -

Doing pretty well with the daily weigh-in but not tracking food. Having gut problems and going to see the gastro people on Monday.0 -

I have been off the wagon for a month. I just got diagnosed with cancer this week (early-stage uterine, so not the worst) but noticed I've been doing some comfort eating and have decided to challenge myself to record my weight during March, April, and May. I do not have the go-for-it to follow a food plan at this point. Join me if you wish. Recording my weekly weight and leaving comments in the thread for this group.0 -

Starting to track again. I'm recovering from surgery and treatment for uterine cancer (not fair that I didn't get a weight loss for having a body part removed). My ultimate goal is 165. Have 30 pounds to go but I know I can do it. My focus will be on health, my move at the end of July and consistently tracking weight and food. Once I move I'm adding stationary bike, chair yoga, water aerobics. It always helps to have accountability buddies.0 -

4th of July. Going to Boulder today, Friday, coming home Saturday evening. A little worried about my kitty, she is used to me being around all the time. But know she will be fine. I've been up and down all week. Had my last radiation treatment on Monday.0 -

I have been comfort eating and going for sweet food. Have gotten things more in control the last few days. Moving in a week, have gotten the packing mostly done. Intend to go to the local rec center near JP's after my move. Going to focus on weighing and tracking for now.0 -

Those two months got away from me--but starting again because I want to, need to, and because I got weighed at the doctor's office and my weight was down. So now going to begin to embrace mindful eating. One step at a time. Will post the Fall challenge.0 -
I washed out on the summer challenge but am glad to be starting a slightly lower weight for the fall challenge. I am adding Mindful Eating to my weight loss tool kit and think that will help. This challenge is starting today, 9/24/24, and goes until 11/24/24 or something close to that. I think that puts Thanksgiving in the Winter Challenge, which seems best. Please state your goals and record a weekly weight in the first discussion below.0

I'm surprised about the three-pound drop, but I will joyously take it. I started taking Wellbutin this week, and have been watching what I eat so we will see how this goes--hopefully the same way. I'm looking forward to being in the 80s.0 -
Wow! Just saw that I got a badge for being on MFP for 10 years! Time has certainly flown! Hard to look and my streak and see it is only 5 days. Oh well, one day at a time does it.0

Haven't weighed the last couple of days but I am watching what I eat. My housemate and her friend keep on bringing home treats from their outings to the farmer's market and the legendary Bucky's. It is the end of the month and have little money so it's easy to pass on going to those places where the only things to do are eat and spend money. Boy, I sound a little judgey.0
