So, I've pretty much given up on making goal this month. It was a stretch to begin with, but now, my kid is so very ill - and obviously, that was unexpected... and one consequence of that is that I'm not going to get in my spin class tomorrow.
In the grand scheme of things, who cares?! I need to be there for my son, and I am happy to do what I need to do (although in so many ways, I feel so helpless because I can't do anything to make him better)... but for purposes of this challenge, it's just one more wrench in my plans to make goal. My son is going to be fine, but the road to being fine is going to be painful and exhausting.
So, I will cheer the rest of you on. I will get in workouts when I can, and hope that my son is feeling better by next week. The doc says this illness usually has 4-5 days of awful before the corner to improvement. My sister, however, says that when her son had it (although he was quite a bit younger) it was a 10 day period of hell. Here's hoping that our kiddo pulls through in the typical 4-5 days. We're on day 3 right now.0 -
