There is waaayy too much chocolate in this house. Even though neither the kids nor I can eat dairy chocolate, and the husband doesn't really like any chocolate, people give it to us at Easter anyway?? I was stupid and had a couple of small eggs last week and spent the night with lovely stomach cramps and feeling awful. Won't make that mistake again!

I shall invite some people over and put it all in a big bowl on the table for them to eat instead

My legs ache! That's a good thing lol I'd been missing that. Shall push on through and do a light session again shortly.

Just spent the morning at the shops gathering up a heap of stuff so that my girl can go on her first school camp tomorrow. 3 days and 2 nights - back at the beach! I promised her I'd have 95% of her stuff packed before she got home this afternoon. She asked about the other 5%.... I said I'm not perfect :glasses: lol

Thanks for all the front squat advice - maybe I need to "deload" because they were not so awful six months ago. I am also thinking about using a box-- maybe I'll keep my torso straight. It is just not as fun as back squats or split squats with a barbell or even lunges with one foot elevated.

I had a physical therapy appt which made my pain worse but hopefully I'll feel better in the am and rise and shine and lift.

Runz I am impressed with your push-ups.

I didn't eat much candy just some when I was preparing the baskets.
Beeps you are doing great- keep up the good work.

I am 2/3- no bike ride last week, and I didn't log food on Sat so I am going to assume I came close on Protein.

Checking in at 2/3. I met my caloric goal yester, even though I went over on the carbs!

    Runz...yay for you!!!

I was not feeling the squat rack yester....so I revved up the weight on the single leg horizontal press machine.

I'm a disappointing 1/3 for last week. My protein stayed together but I didn't do any kind of working out. I'm back now though! I need to get like Runz with these pushups! I did my first phase two workout last night and nearly broke the chandelier in my apartment doing that squat/ohp thingie. Didn't know my arms were that long :blushing: Slight DOMS this morning. Nothing too bad just enough to remind me that I worked out last night. Have a great day ladies!

Hey y'all sorry it has been a while since I have checked in. Work has been crazy, but I am still Lifting the program. I slowed back a little, because I add kickboxing, and Cage to my repertoire. I am try to fit it in at least twice a week. I am about half way through Stage 4. i have made some great strides by adding the two other programs. I am seeing big differences in my body shape, and tone way more than the scale. I hope everyone else is happy where they are at> Have a good day!

    Hello, everyone!

I did DEEP squats just like the video. Body weight only. I couldn't go as deep with the goblet squats. I wanted to lean forward too much. Did you post that Runz? or Cowgirl? My back has a natural curve therefore it is impossible for me to stay straight . I really focused though. I am proud.

Today was legs and arms. I did a variety of squats, I will be SORE tomorrow. Feeling good today even though TOM will be here this weekend. Eating and exercise improves that for me.

    Manic, I posted that video. I think a woman's back has more curve than a man's. ??

I finished my last A workout from Stage 2 and I'm beat. Took me nearly an hour  And now I'm headed out for HIIT.

I think on the FB page posted this great article about form following function or really your body dynamics determining your form. Your back curves my feet turn out, we do the best we can so that we don't hurt ourselves.

No gym today :( I hurt my shoulder and I really have no idea how. I mean it HURTS, like I wish I had a sling hurts. I could barely wash my hair and change my clothes today.

No proctor today so I had the back of the classroom to myself and entertained myself by doing 4 sets of 10 squats lunges, side lunges, leg swings, and speed walking about a mile worth of laps of the classroom and jogging in place...without my shoes on as to not distract my kids. :)

Great job, Manic! I've read that the variances in anatomy will lead to different "styles" of form. As long as you have the basics(chest up, knees never past toes, use your heels, elbows up) you're doing it right. I do think that some variations in form can point to flexibility issues or weak spots, though. Practice makes perfect.

Runz, good job getting Stage 2 done.

Sam, I hope your shoulder feels better soon!

Nancy, glad you're happy with your changes!

Got my lift in today. It was good. Finished up with some HIIT.

Mary, one thing that I've read about squats is that oftentimes, calf and ankle stiffness will prevent deep squats in good form. I know for me, I have to stretch my calves out a bit before I start my squats.

I'm 2/3 last week. Fast food - it's my bane!

My coworker called out so today is going to be a really rough day as I'll have to do all of her work and mine. Then I've got six million errands to run after work including grocery shopping. AND I've got to get in this work out. It's going to be a busy day but I'm determined to lift before the end of it. Have a great day ladies!

I am sore but not as sore as I expected.

I could go deep in squats with body weight only. It was with weight I wanted to lean forward. I'll get there. Thanks for the encouragement ladies

Have to take little one to dentist this am. Then off to the gym.

You ladies are so busy! I hope everyone can get a break soon.

    Pudding1980, Samnatha14, manic4titans, rcoky503, dodiem29, dnamouse, I don't have your challenge results for the week yet!

Manic, I have your goals as:
    4 workouts a week
    Up early to accomplish workouts
    Eat at deficit

red, I'm sure you can get it all done if you're determined to do so!
WillLift, here's a virtual kick in the rear!

So, I thought I killed my workout last night: plank with pulldown, side plank, RDLs with rows, barbell hip thrusts (2X15@120lbs), pushups (2X15), kneeling lat pulldown (2X15), and reverse lunge from a step (2X15), plus 4 intervals of HIIT sprints (I nearly died!).
I'm not really sore today. Just a bit in my arms. Usually my legs get really sore from sprints and hip thrusts. Maybe it's the creatine? Or maybe it's just because I'm 6 workouts into this stage and I've been foam rolling consistently.

    Hi, Nancy! What's Cage?

Cage Fitness is a class they have at my Dojo. It is a MMA style, ground work fitness class.... you use a 30 or 40 lb. person shaped bag that you ground and pound. It requires cardio, and strength training. It's great! I LOVE IT! Helps so much with my job stress!

Tonight will be my 4th workout for the week, and tomorrow is rest day...then lifting on Friday, cage class or golf Saturday (Depending on the weather), and running Sunday. Trying to keep a good routine going.

    I'm new here...
And was looking forward to starting NROL4W today (been doing NROL4Life the last month) but had to get my permanent crown placed this morning. I have to get my little man from preschool now, so didn't have time to get my first lift in. Guess it's Friday for me. Would of preferred lifting over the dentist.

I did get my lifting in-and-done, today....9 days until Europe and then it will be WALKING, WALKING, WALKING...

    EUROPE?! How awesome!

My DOMS has become more and more delayed. I used to get it 12 hours after, now it's starting to take 24-48 hours to hit. It's weird.

Barbell, what are my goals? I need to change one. I think one of them has to do with leaving the measuring tape alone. I'm over that one. Now, I need to control my Easter candy intake :embarassed: OMG those Robin's Eggs. :grumble: :grumble:

On my way home from work, I thought (whined), "I don't wanna run today!"   As soon as I got home, I changed into my running clothes. There's no way I'll skip it now. :ohwell:

Barbell, DOMS can be funny like that. Mine always feels like rocks. Rocks in my ribs. Rocks in my legs. Rocks in my butt. I roll over in the bed and it's like rolling around on rocks.

Hi, Marieann! I had a crown put in last month and it knocked me useless for an entire day

I will give myself 2/3 from last week.

I tried the Smith machine for the first time ever today and it was...weird. Takes some getting used to, I guess. I had to put a towel on the bar where it rests against my neck and shoulders cause it was uncomfortable.

How does everyone manage the step ups in stage 1? I can't hold more than 20lb dumbells in my hands when doing them cause my arms feel like they're going to rip out of their sockets, so this week I've been using a barbell on my shoulders across the back. But once I get to a certain weight I have a great difficulty moving it off my shoulders once I'm done the exercise. Should I try a barbe across the front (this concerns me as I feel the positioning in my wrists needed to do this would make my wrists sore - I had carpal tunnel syndrome there when pregnant) or maybe dumbells on my shoulders?

Also, how much protein do you get most days? Mfp has my goal set to 112g daily but with today's workout it got knocked up to 140g. The best I can do today to meet that is 122g; I missed my cottage cheese snack (left it in the fridge when I took the boys to swim lessons :( ) and I don't eat meat. I could stuff more food down but I don't want to eat when I'm not truly hungry (especially as I have BED) and I also don't want to lose my deficit just to get to my protein target. What to do? I do always try to make sure I am meeting or exceeding my 30% protein no matter how much/what I've eaten.

I think my diary is open if any of you want to look and make suggestions :)

    Step ups!

You may not need BIG db's for this. Make it tougher by standing on the bench to start. The motion is then down - up, without touching the lowered foot to the floor.

Lemme know if you can keep proper form, for that way, with 20 lb DB'ss in your hands.

Hey Pudding, I HATE the Smith. It wrecks my form and does too much of the work for me. Is there a reason why you used it. Does your gym have a power rack set up? Step ups are my jam. But Beeps is right. Keep the working foot working and on tap yur toe, don't put down the non-working foot on the top or the floor. Are you stepping on a "step" with risers, a box, or a step machine? THe idea is to go higher, not necessarily heavier until you leg is above a 90 degree angle. Protein is another issue. My personal goal is 100g min a day though my MFP goal says 120-140 depending on exercise.

Todays testing workout included 3x10 squats lunges, front/back/side leg lifts, table push ups, standing abs, laps and running in place.

The monsoons have arrived. Took 2 hours to get home, so did hubby. The run off from the hills into our valley pushed the water over the divider on the highway.
