Recovery yesterday - lots of little muscles in pain from tennis! I had planned to run tonight but my feet are really hurting - 20 minutes strength training instead. Tennis again tomorrow (need new tennis shoes).

Coolhand, I've also thought about the bridge to 10K. Kinda started working on longer distances on my own but recently realized that I need a program to guide me. Now I'm thinking about starting the C25K program over again but with running at goal pace and jogging instead of jogging and walking. Hmm, not sure which method I'll use... I'll be interested to follow your progress.

Angie, I'm impressed with your pace! Good job :)

Well, in the rundouble program I used for C25K, it also has a free trial of a 5to10k bridge program, but for free it has a 5k improver (which is intervals - and basically doing the c25k program over but running hard instead of slow). I decided to do the 5k improver first. I did it this morning and got my first sub-10 minute mile in the last of my three miles. Overall, my pace was already quite a bit faster doing it with intervals than it was with my normal slow runs. So, once I get a couple weeks in and make my runs last longer, it should really be a lot better...

I cycled 6.5 miles last night with the wife. This morning was a 15 minute elliptical warmup followed by 1/2 hour strength training - upper body...

1 hr of tennis last night but it wasn't as good of a workout as I had hoped - it depends so much on the hitting partner.

30 min of swimming laps today and 40 min on the bike trainer followed by core strength tonight.

Tennis on Friday - it was the best workout I've had this year and the most fun!
    Nothing yesterday.
Ran/walked 5.5 miles this morning but it was the most frustrating workout I had all year, ran with the stroller and I couldn't run more than 4 minutes at a time. So I ran another 3 miles tonight and pushed my pace but took walking breaks, the fastest time I've had so far but not a time to brag about.

3 mile run Saturday morning with intervals.. it was a tough one - felt like dying/giving up for most of it but persevered (albeit slowly).

Went to a Les Mills "Body Combat" class with the wife yesterday. That sort of class really isn't my thing, but I really feel it in my legs this morning, so I might consider going back.

15 min. elliptical warmup + upper body strength training this morning. Hopefully a run tonight.

been on vacation in Daytona. I indulged a little on food but I did manage to get some type of exercise 6 out of 8 days. To top it off on the day we left I went out for a run on the beach, was able to watch the sunrise, and I had my personal best time!! I can honestly say I felt the runners "high".

1 hr of tennis and 3.3 mile run. Too much high impact for today, my plantar fasciitis is really bothering me even after stretches, icing and ibuprofen. Not looking forward to the first few steps in the morning...

Last night I played 1 hr tennis, ran 3 miles and biked 20 minutes while watching TV. I thought I had the plantar fasciitis under control the last few days because I had been able to do 2 different 3 mile runs without pain the next day but today is a different story. I guess I need to learn to not do tennis and run in the same day :(

I really hope it's not the tennis that's making it worse, I just found a great hitting partner.

Yay, Turkey Run! I've spent a lot of time there - used to live very close.

    I ran Friday and today...

It was a good trip to Turkey Run, I've been there many times but this was our first time camping there. I also grew up kinda close to there (in IL, not too far from the state line). Came home a day early because of the weather forecast, glad we weren't in a tent with 2 small kids when the storms came through! I did get lots of hiking in but no running.

Went to Blue Mile yesterday and bought new running shoes, looking forward to my first run in them tonight! High hopes that better shoes help with the plantar fasciitis.

Got a good run in this morning... 4 miles. (first three interval training). I'm getting my average time closer and closer to 10min/mile. I hope to achieve sub 30 minute 5k by the time of my first 5k competition run in a bit over a month, and my second one in about two months. If I get some more weight dropped, I think I can get there.

Last night I ran 3 miles on the treadmill followed by 20 min strength training. Feet feel pretty good this morning but they usually are better after the treadmill than after roads. Plan to run outside tonight.

Good job on getting closer to your fitness goals, coolhand! Which race are you doing next month?

I know what you mean, I signed up for a few and then did a double take of how much it had added up to. On top of that, got the e-mail from warrior dash that there is a $20 parking fee! I decided against a few races only because the money is adding up (still better than paying a monthly fee for a weight loss program though). I will be doing the 5K of the monumental, a fun run around halloween and the drumstick dash (4.6 mile course).

No workouts since Monday, it's been a busy week. Excited for the warrior dash tomorrow but not at my fitness goals I had set for the race. I'm running with a friend who runs 10 min miles and was hoping to be up to her pace so that I didn't hold her back. I may be able to stay with her for the first part of the race but won't be able to keep that pace for the full run - unless there are lines at the obsticles

Let us know how the warrior dash went... I almost jumped in at the last minute from the groupon that was out last week...
I was off track a bit over the end of last week and the weekend. I used a few nagging physical pains as excuses. I did do some good walking yesterday (but I should have ran). I worked out this morning and plan to run tonight and hopefully be back on track..
