Pmag, that's awesomeness. Remember, 50% is better than nothing.
DNA, thats freaking awesome! That means you can do pull ups then?! That's a goal of mine that I'm really far from reaching right now.

Yep, I can do pull ups. Just a couple at a time though. I'm following the layout for Stage 6 and just doing the negatives really, really slowly to build up some more strength. In all honesty I think they kill more than just rapping out some quick pull ups. I hold the top for a good 15-20 seconds and then slowly lower. You have to remember that I don't weigh much lol so I don't have as much weight to lift up and down

    I'm a 3/3 for last week

    1. Lift 3x a week - yep
    2. Cardio min 2x week 30 mins - yep
    3. Meal plan & healthy snacks - did very well, even packed a salad for the school fete which saved me from buying lovely deep fried fatty foods (I don't like them much anyway lol) Getting back in the swing of planning meals which is saving me time, money and means we eat nice and healthy

Didn't get for my jog this afternoon as my buddy has a sick kid, so came home and did a kick boxing + HIIT Fitness Blender workout while the kids did their homework. I think it's my current favourite cardio workout.

Just have to get through the next week and a half and things might start slowing down a little - school musical Mon & Tuesday next week. I think my girl won't be going to training on Tuesday morning...

    Hey all,

I go away for a weekend and it's like I've missed an entire month! Busy ladies!

Sam - so sorry. Thoughts are with all of you :flowerforyou:

DNA - nice pull downs. I got to bodyweight with mine and found myself fighting the leg bar too much to stay down. Now I do kneeling pull downs - I much prefer these, have you tried them?

Rewind to my squats..... I had squat day today and attempted to note my form. First off, I found it VERY hard to judge with a front on, wide leg position. My legs are at such an angle that it is hard to assess whether they are parallel. I changed to side on out of the rack just to get a feel of where parallel was. So, the result is that I can get parallel with weight up to bodyweight, but not over bodyweight. Thank you to those pulling me up on my form here - I appreciate it. From now on you will be known as my cyber- spotters  I will back off the weights a bit and aim for the greater range of motion.

On the downside, I am totally OVER my stupid hormones and bloat. I am having my third period in 4 weeks and today weigh the heaviest in 3 years :grumble: Having this stupid implanon out on Friday, can't take it anymore. I know I'm trying to gain, but the 3kg in bloat I am currently carrying has GOT to go.

3rd period in 4 weeks?!?!! Ruh roh.....

Sam, sorry for your funeral-binge. Awful!

DNA mouse - you rock! The end!

It is holiday mondy here....so, i will mix it up at the gym with a little cardio, a little weights.

No eating though.....cut is firmly "on".

(I tried on the dress for the sept wedding i am attending....i have work to do!)

    Go lift heavy stuff, gals!

    BOOM!

whoa, y'all have been busy bees this weekend!

YEA!!! I went to the gym today!!! I did SLDL, glute bridges, walking lunges and back hyper-extensions. No where near my PRs and I didn't even care, it was form focused and it felt GREAT!!!

Sam, I am so sad for you and your family. What a difficult year this has been for you all. You're each in my thoughts and prayers.

DNA that's awesome!! Congrats on the big pull down numbers AND on doing pull-ups. I was doing about that on the pull-downs but never had enough strength to do an unassisted pull-up, only on the assist machine. I read on T-nation (I think) that using bands instead of the assist machine was a better way to get to an unassisted pull-up. When I'm whole again, I'll have to try.

Beeps I'm with you on the food, no eating! I want to get down 15 by the end of the year.

Welcome to the new folks! I love how active this board stays!

Good morning! I'm here because my girl woke up with a headache and a slight temp so I kept her home from training this morning... I hope she's well enough for school as I have to work :ohwell:

I am soooooo sore this morning LOL Good sore, just all-over sore
Rest day and back to it tomorrow

Jo, I've done the pull downs while standing before when I couldn't be bothered moving the bench into position. That works pretty good because I still have to stand on tippy toes to reach the bar to pull it down  That way I plant my feet solidly on the ground.

Cold! I'm cold! We got teased with warmer weather at the end of last week and now it's cold again. Stupid August. Stupid wind. I'm hanging out for the sun to come back properly.

Meanwhile my son is in shorts and a t-shirt - nuts I tell you! Nuts!

Awesome pull downs. I think those are actually my favorite exercise and I miss them. I much prefer the kneeling ones since starting supercharged. it engages more of the core muscles ( and I don't have to wait for the seated pull down machine)

Sue, glad you're getting some work in.

Took the boys bowling today. I feel outrageously tired, but slowly on the mend. It took everything I had to do the grocery shopping and carry everything inside, even with the kids' help.

Happy lifting ladies (wish this bug had taken my appetite)

I think kneeling pull downs are great too. I like to imagine muscles popping out all over my back. I can't see the muscles but the pull downs make me feel great,

Beeps you like to roll the thread- you have the best attitude- I will cheer you on for six weeks.

Jo that sounds like a miserable month.

Sue glad you had a good workout.

    Welcome marylen

Sam hope you feel better soon.
Give your appetite some good nutrition.

My DH wants to be vegan and my family would like it. I am reluctant because I have trouble meeting protein. I know we will eat more veggies(yeah!) but I worry that my carb crazed kids will eat too much.

DNA hope your little one gets well.

Hahaha, I totally get this

Combat today.... enjoyed it. Followed by washing the car, shopping, mowing the lawn and gardening, laundry, decorating, cooking, kids to scouts and back home to make dinner for me and hubby, packed lunches for kids and then bath them all. Exhausted! My eyes are closing. Busy day ahead tomorrow too....

    Hey everyone!

I am SO DAMN SORE today. Especially my inner thighs and butt. I did my first stage 7 workout yesterday and really had to push to do a half hour of cardio this morning. Oy.

I made it to one week binge free and then last night it all went wrong :P I didn't eat enough quality food at dinner (was a vegetarian at a BBQ so I was basically stuck eating starchy side dishes) and came home starving. Oh well. Onward and upward.

    nice job Pudding!

I left the house today! I took the boys to the water park and I'm on the verge of collapse. Not sure what tomorrow will bring. If it's a good day, it might bring Zumba to get started with. We shall see.

No work-out for me, today. I had a really good low-calorie day, yesterday....so, will plow through 2 more and then figure the SUGAR-cravings will be gone - and that's easily half the battle.

I'm feeling GOOD today! Have a patio night out with gf's tonight....won't be drinking, but a nice diet coke with a lime will do just fine. And a big bowl of salad with chicken on it! Yummy!

    Good morning!

I woke up in the middle of the night and didn't get back to sleep for hours - I'd planned to get to the gym but knew I needed to use the time for sleep instead. I'll get out at noon and at least do some walking, and also the PT exercises this evening. My rear delts and lats are achy from the PT work. Not sure that I notice any improvement, but it's only been 3 sessions. I go again tomorrow.

I have lower body DOMs bad expecially glutes and quads!! I'm paying for two and half weeks without a real workout! But it's good to feel!

Yesterday was not my best food day - Chinese, but oh so yummy. I am already better today. Beeps you inspire me!!

    Get it done ladies!

sue - thanks, but I am NOT inspiring myself, in the least, these days....having said that, i just reviewed my DXA results from last year and, yes, GOOD reminder that I had BETTER pour it on and make some progress....or that promise to myself is USELESS.

I'm off to have a lunch-time visit with my oldest son. BOOM!

Pretty sure my glutes ate broken from stage 7-1 on Monday. Did 7-2 today and it went well aside from the squats with heels raised in plates; even with lowering my DBs way down I still couldn't do all 15 reps. My glutes are just too sore. Tomorrow is a full rest day and I am welcoming it with open arms!

Yesterday in the middle of making lunch I got a MASSIVE headache. It was supposed to be a lifting day so I decided to take a nap hoping it'd be gone when I got up. No such luck. Decided to go workout anyway. When I came home I felt even worse. Started wondering if it was a bad decision. BUT I feel 10 times better today so I'm glad I pushed myself and got it done. I think maybe my body is just tired. I'm due for a 1 week break from exercise next week. Looking forward to that. I'll also be taking a 2 week diet break and eating at maintenance.

    Runz, are you ok?

i did a3 stage one today. It felt pretty awesome to increase my squat weight again (this time 65, first time 30). My issue was that the bar digs into my shoulders (thats where most of the discomfort came from)... I am gonna up the weight again next time and see how that goes!

it sounds like we are in a very similar place. I just finished my 5th workout. The deadlifts made me super sore the first time, and less sore the next time. =) best of luck! I know it's hard.

    Hey ladies!

I know I don't comment very often on here, but I read everything almost everyday! You all are so inspiring. It's taking me a long time to get through the 1st stage. Unfortunately my work schedule only allows me to lift 1-2 days a week :( I have noticed a greater weight loss in the month that I have been lifting and my clothes are starting to get big on me! YAY!

Just wanted to let everyone know that you all rock! And I totally look up to all of you! :) Thank you for motivating me!

Well if some of you are having lower body DOMS, I've got the top half going on right here. I am not even quite sure why! Shoulders/ upper back/ arms all hurt! AND I have DLs today.... hope my arms hold out, will need to watch it with my grip (history of hurting elbow). Will let you all know how I go.

Welcome newbies - enjoy the group :-)
