I am so intrigued by this photo sharing. I am now going to see if I can find instructions somewhere. Wish me luck, this might take a bit of experimentation. Patsy

If you have your photos downloaded to your computer you can just click on the little folder that is above the reply box. It looks like a piece of paper with the corner folded down. From there you click on choose files and if you have your photos stored in a photo file click on your photos and choose the one you want. Hope this explains it somewhat.

Happy Wednesday!! :D Robby slept a little this morning but only a 45 minute nap this afternoon (so far). I am going to call the jeweler to see if my ring is ready and if so pick it up on the way to bingo. Hopefully, Robby takes another nap so I can get on my bike.

Lin, did we know you lost 173 pounds? I am sure it was mentioned in the beginning but reading it again was just amazing. Between you and Bob do you realize how much weight was lost?? Incredible, you both are admired.

Robby needs attention, don't we all?

    Have a good day.

Just a quick sharing – knowing this would resonate with some people on this thread.

Someone (a young 20-something) complimented me re: weight loss saying it was awesome and then added: “I love seeing that age should never be a factor in getting healthy.”

This reminded me of my great niece (that is getting married this year). She once said we were her favorite old aunt & uncle and that when she gets to be our age she wants to be like us.

Hilarious and sweet at the same time.

[I should explain that my wife and I will do thing’s at the drop of a hat - go to the movies during the week at 10pm & get home after midnight, attend rock concerts (my wife’s friend is the mother of a member in a well-known heavy metal band – but people will just hear that “this old couple” went to a metal concert] LOL.

Anne -- as far as the North Sea v. the Virgin Islands...

I think a photo comparison might help. The upper corner was part of my driveway yesterday and Friday windchill could reach -20 F (-28.8 C).

    I think I need to warm up a bit...LOL

    driveway_edited-1_zpsq56jbqaa.jpg
  • Yeah, my drive is similar. Temperature freezing this weekend. Point made! Just kidding about the North Sea! My eldest is off to the Caribbean on Friday, sigh. He was born near the North sea like me, but I haven't noticed him rushing back.

:D Bob, thank you for sharing the MFP video.....I loved hearing the voices and seeing the faces of our leaders.

:D Lin, my daily step goal now is 19,000 steps......it's easier for me because I don't have all the responsibilities you have, I don't spend much time preparing food, and I don't do a lot of the things other people do. When I meet my friends, it's for a walk, not a meal. I dance three mornings a week and have dogs that want to walk all the time and will each walk for up to an hour at a time.

:D I like the four seasons we have here in the north. I enjoy the gradual change of seasons and have the clothing to deal with it. I've never yearned to go south for a vacation in the winter.

<3 Jake has taken the cardiologist's recommendation to severely restrict sodium very seriously so we are going through some big discussions and changes in how we eat.

<3 I think of you all the time even though I am posting very little.

    Good Morning,

Back to normal, no more spacey feeling and ready to start packing. Next week FEB 21st is the day of departure. We both are anxious to get out of this North weather. We have more snow in the driveway again to shovel. Will this ever stop. Our temperatures are going to plummet this weekend.

My BIL is in Florida right now, he plans on coming back early. He is finding this trip, his first without my SIL difficult. She did all the planning. He golfs all week but then when the weekend comes he doesn't know what to do with himself. I don't know if this will happen next year. :|
I would stay to just not get back to this weather. LOL

Well today's plans, packing, exercise, 40 squats for my challenge and whatever happens after that.
I have my CD now to practice my choir music for next week.

Marie - I think the Golden Years was pretty much like the Sneakers and i found that
I was saying pretty much the same for both. Good choice to dissolve it and anyone new on there
    can join us here.

    Dear friends
I have to say that the friends we have here are like family.
Bob, you have added so much for us to learn, ( making our meals pretty), and to enjoy what we eat. Thank you

Lin, the amount of weight you have lost and maintained is amazing and I had forgotten about how much you lost. Thank you for your kindness to all of us and you are a joy to know.

Marie, You are our forever leader, and your new picture is beautiful. You are an amazing lady with all you do.

Sandy, You have showed us how to face life and then get on with it. Your troubles with your step children have made you a stronger woman. Thank you for always helping us with our internet trouble.

Buzz, you have taught us many things about life as we get older. Your big move into the place you live now and the many interesting things you do. You are enjoying life. Thank you for letting us be in your life.

Phoebe, Lady you keep on trucking and that is amazing. I know that I could not be on the road all the time at this age. Your love of animals is so good. Thank you for being so tender hearted to Gods little creatures.

Shirley, you are on the go all the time, you exercise, eat well, love everything you do. When I read your messages I can feel the energy you have, thank you for letting us enjoy the things you do through your posts.

Barbie, You are the energy rabbit. Your exercise is above what we all do. I admire your determination on the amount of steps you do. You get the blue ribbon for walking, thank you for sharing your fun walks and dance .

I know I have left out a few people but I am running over on this post. Thank all of you for being friends that care.

Now may day may go like this
Breakfast, oatmeal, better n peanut butter, yogurt. black coffee
    Going for a walk.
Going to sew for a couple of hours
Lunch, salad with chicken. Green tea

Hi there sneaker friends! I am still fiddling around with trying to share photos. I'll get it down someday. We have partial sun today. Time to get out and go somewhere. Anywhere! I have noticed that my goals have changed with regard to weight loss. I feel that if I can stay within my calorie goal, make healthy choices then I have achieved a major part of my goal. Weight loss is important but my lifestyle needed to change first. Love reading about all of your healthy choices. Today my sweetie and I are going out for an early valentine lunch. We know the restaurants will be packed on the day. Not sure if this is a good idea or not but I have been considering taking an extra vitamin D tab. Living up here in Oregon, the sun disappears all winter and I think I need D more than ever. Good idea? What do you think?

Oystereyes - I used to take 1000 UI D3 of vitamin D but my doctor recommended I take two tablets a day now. He said my Vitamin D was too low, ever since I have been taking 2 a day my blood work seems to be better. As we age we need more Vitamin D. Check with your doctor maybe you need a boost.

Bob - Iistened to the video of the CEO and his brother. Very interesting. Its
amazing how this site has grown over the years.

    Valentine’s Day Thoughts.

Thinking of Valentine’s Day brings back memories of a time when words, love and commitment seemed to mean more than monetary gifts or even Fifty Shades of Grey.

Going through some old photographs today, I found a Valentine poem I had written to my mother at a VERY young age. Clearly I didn’t have a command of the English language yet.

That's me in a tux heading out to a high school prom. [My mother was dying of cancer at the time and passed away at age 57 not long after this photo was taken.] The third item was a wedding photograph of my parents taken in 1932. It was tucked inside one a several “love letters” they wrote to each other.

Just thought I’d share – they have nothing to do with losing weight – unless you are eating chocolate while reading this :)

    Have a great evening.

Oh Bob. Thank you so much. It is so dear of you to share these moments with us. What a treasure. <3<3

I cleared out all the cards my dad and mom had saved over the years just yesterday. I had to look through all of them. My mom always wrote a little something endearing to my dad on each one. o:)

    So a little bit early............

Happy Friday!! :D TGIF..... :D Before I forget again, I just wanted to say I love the new profile pictures of Marie and Buzz, you both are so beautiful. Marie your grandson amazes me that he rolled over at 22 days, he must be one smart baby. Robby rolls from his back to his tummy and has only rolled from tummy to back twice. Bob love, love, love the letter from your mom to your dad, thank you for sharing and the pictures are beautiful. Lin I have saved every card and letter Babe has given me, so my kids will do the same as you once I am gone. Oystereyes I think the sun is one of the best forms of vitamin D but I also take vitamin D in my calcium pills. I hope to get a lot of sun in 18 days in the Western Caribbean.Chris I think I am stronger with the help of Al Anon, it teaches me how to take care of myself since I have no control over anyone else. Barbie I am so used to the four seasons that I shouldn't complain about winter, but I do prefer the summer.Shirley I hope your trip is just wonderful, your weather sounds worse than ours, we at least don't have a ton of snow, just frigid weather this week.Anne I don't blame your son for not wanting to go back to the frigid weather, what could be better than lying on a beach in the Caribbean? Phoebe I am so happy Honey can take the heart worm medicine and pray she makes a full recovery. She is so lucky to have you as a mom.Jackie George is just as lucky to have you as a mom and gets to walk the beautiful countryside with you. BeckyI hope all went well with your granddaughter, did you ever explain why it was four years since you saw her? (sorry if too nosey)

I hope all the other sneakers are doing well, staying healthy and enjoying life to it's fullest.

    Morning,

I just got back from Yoga class and stopped home to finish off my coffee. I don't usually drink coffee before my class so I can stay calm. Going to have lunch before I pick up some groceries. I won't have too much to buy before our trip next week. Leaving on Saturday.
    Counting the days.

A beautiful sunny day 6F right now and a high of 10. You can hear the snow crunch when you walk on it, you know its cold. I lost again this week, so I am down 8 pounds from Christmas and will continue to get at my summer weight. I am just waiting for a thaw so I can walk outside and the pounds will shed a little easier. I need to do 50 squats today for my challenge. Then tomorrow is a rest day, Yay!

Bob - Just a lovely letter of sentiment from your parents to each other. <3 Thanks for sharing that with us. No comparison with those pictures. Where would we want to be, let me think - Hmmmm.
Sandy - You will be gone longer than us for your vacation, so enjoy every minute of it before baby sitting rolls around again. o:)
Chris Have you started back on South Beach or are you doing WW. How is it going?
Marie Did you ever find that article today that you wanted?
Lin I too forgot how many pounds you have lost in the past. Remarkable!
You must feel fantastic! You and Bob are our inspirations to keep on going and learn new ways to get healthy.

I like all the information MFP is sending to our email, I learn something all the time.
New exercises and new eating recipes to keep your calories down.

Enjoy your day everyone, dinner tonight with my MIL and possibly Tom if he is available.
We try to stay in touch with him as much as we can. He is quite busy with his daughters
so we try and get him to come out with us too.

The wind chill was around minus (-) 25 this morning … brrr … burned 412 calories doing 75 minutes of cardio exercises, including walking 3.1 for one hour.

I took a food photo instead of having a decent breakfast – I wanted a piece of fried fish for lunch and that was the price. It was “delicious.” I do this every month or so.

The waffle is the size of a half dollar with a tiny single strawberry / blueberry & a drip of yogurt and squirt of sugar free syrup – all for under 25 calories – take away the waffle and you have about 2 calories. LOL

    perspective%20Final_POSTER%20small_zpsf4yzt2os.jpg

Lin – I think it was thinking about you handling all your affairs tied to “going thru items” that prompted me to have this reflection. Happy Valentine’s Day to you too.

Sandy – Glad you liked the letter. I enjoyed going through them. My mother simply adored my father.

Sorry we will miss each other – you are headed to the Western Caribbean and I am headed for the Eastern Caribbean. I love 4 seasons, BUT we are ranked as one of the cities with the highest average snowfall in a year. I am not normally a snowbird, but this could become a habit.

Shirley – As noted, it was nice to see how my parents interacted. They seemed to offset each other – lets just say my father was the disciplinarian.

    Hope everyone stays warm!

My gosh, vacations galore for this group! Wish I had one on the horizon as well. Hey you guys, just be sure to tell us all about your trips and share pictures!! So is everyone packing or getting ready to pack?

I finally got the final tax returns for the trusts actually reviewed (yeah, I know I signed them the other day but still wanted to look them over). Found one tiny error on each but nothing major so I'm not going to say anything.........just a clerical typo. I also read over the material on the farm program and reviewed what was sent to me to sign. I called them as I have one or two questions and they were closed today. Hope they are in on Monday but they may not be due to the holiday. Need to get on this though. Also got a couple of boxes of family items packed and sent off to the newly-rediscovered cousin in Arizona. Did some cooking and straightened up some papers. My next task is to start on my own tax info compilation...........argh. I did some dusting instead!

Step count is over 16,000 but my foot is swelling so I think that's it for today.

I am reading a book right now so that I can try out what the library calls "Adult Read Discussion." I think it's in March but it's going to take a while. I adore cozy fiction, I like some biographies and some regular fiction but this is a slow go for me. "The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox" by Maggie O'Farrell. So far it's not captivating. Ha.

Marie, I'm sorry you can't share pictures of your darlings. Too bad they've been made private but I know many people want to control their pictures, especially of their children.

Anne - can you hitch a ride with your son on his vacation?

Bob - I love the *perspective* picture. Oh yes indeed----it makes all the difference in the world.

Shirley - oh that crunchy snow sound. I no longer find it to be a delightful experience. Once upon a time I found that quite entertaining odd girl that I was.

Sandy - tick-tock. Nice warm vacation and then not many weeks remaining until spring. Yippee! That is considerate of you to save those things for your children to look over. I hope they don't get rushed and miss them. If you remember when I did the basement a couple of years ago I had no time to look over things as I was paying that firm to help me and the object was to accomplish something! Plus almost everything in the basement had been exposed to water damage when a neighbor consciously plugged up a drain tile forcing water back onto our fields and ultimately into the basement.

Well, off I do. Drinking some lovely lemon tea. Yum.........

We are home. Had a great time but we spent a low key day as we are both tired. A bit of a cold as well. Darn.

I walked and walked while in Vegas. One day I got in almost 30,000 steps. At the end I got a sore foot and a blister. Good thing we were only way for 4 days. LOL

We saw Donny and Marie which I really enjoyed.

However 4 days was definitely enough.

    I'll check in tomorrow.

Ahhh!! Just lost my post but no time to start again so I'll wish you all a happy Saturday and thank Bob for the photos, sharing the loving and moving letter and giving me a smile at that waffle. Reminded me of my friend's breakfast a couple of weeks ago at the spa hotel when after a cooked breakfast she asked for a Danish pastry and upon seeing our horrified faces explained it would be the size of her thumb and forefinger in a circle.... was it heck!!

Your weather in certain areas, especially New York must be bad because it was mentioned on our news this morning so stay warm or do as some are, head South!! Glorious sunshine in my part of the UK so George and I enjoyed a wonderful walk in spite of a cold wind. The 94 year old dear friend I was going to visit in the week had unfortunately returned to hospital after a bad turn and passed away on Thursday. Although I'll miss her terribly she's at peace and that's a comfort.

Must get on as so much to do today.

Happy Saturday! :D Our weather is awful, cold and very windy, a good day to stay indoors. I thought Babe and I were going to Mass and dinner but another problem with his son has put him back in depression so he doesn't want to go anywhere. I might just go tomorrow then and make this a pajama day. :D

<3 Marie, love your graphic and I am also so happy to be your friend. <3
<3 Jackie, sorry to hear about your friend but I agree she is at peace. <3
<3 Lin, thank you for reminding us about Maddie's birthday. With watching Robby I am not on top of things like I used to be. Why don't you book a trip somewhere warm even if it is by yourself. Go to your cousins in Arizona, I bet she would love having you. <3
<3 Jeri, glad you had a good time in Vegas, did you win anything? Where did you stay? <3
<3 Bob, did that waffle do anything for your appetite? My parents were the opposite of yours so it was great seeing love the way it should be. <3
<3 Shirley, one more week for you and two weeks for me, not sure when Bob is leaving, but I do know we are all sick of the cold and wind. <3
<3 Buzz, you do know we are all jealous of your Florida weather but happy that you can enjoy sunshine. Hope all the tests are going well and the end will produce good results. <3

I hope you all have a great Valentines Day, whether alone or with someone, be grateful we are here to enjoy it. <3<3<3

22F and snowing like crazy. Tomorrow high of -4F and Sunday -1F.
Just got through shoveling and cleaning off the cars.
One more week until my trip. I hope to get most of my clothes ready this weekend. No movie tonight and dinner out due to the snow and bad roads. We will go to the Red box and get a movie and dinner will be at home. At least I will save more calories that way.

I took some pictures on my tablet of the snow, now just learning how to send them to all of you.

Bob - Oh my, that is a tinee tiny waffle. I bet it tasted good. I have a recipe for Biggest Loser pancakes, 3 pancakes for 170 calories.

Enjoy your valentines day with family or friends or just your honey bunny.

Marie - sounds like that awful bug Ed and I had before Christmas. It just wouldn't go away. Big hugs to you.
