Brown Butter Cream Sauce
Yield 6 - 10
Active Time 5 min
Total Time 10 min
Ingredients- 4 tbsp Butter salted
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1/4 cup Chicken broth
- 1/3 cup Cream
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
Instructions- Brown the butter on a pan with swirling it around over medium heat.
- Pour the brown butter into a sauce pot and add garlic, chicken broth, cream, salt and pepper.
- Stir until combined.
- Lower heat down to simmer.
- Stir occasionally until the sauce has thickened, about 5-10 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
It doesn't re-heat particularly well, so just drink whatever you have left!
I want to make it and drink it, bulletproof coffee style. I think I might.1 -
This past Sunday for our family meal we made a Ham from Costco. There always lots of leftovers so I diced up a bunch and made individual packs of 50g each then froze them in ziplock bags. The dice is quite small so I can take one out in the morning and they defrost really fast. I add the pack to my eggs for extra calories, fat and flavour.18 -

Um, you do know that if you lower carbs, you MUST increase fats - because those are the only two things your body can use for fuel, right? You don't need to be eating 250 grams of fats a day, but you don't need to restrict, either. Protein is not fuel, it is building blocks and support for your muscles. A certain amount can be inefficiently converted for fuel usage, but that is not the intention, and doing this too much will burn out your kidneys...12 -
This is the best thread ever, I am getting lots of ideas here, my problem is I was beginning to eat a lot of the same old same old, ie cook for family and just eat the meats, .3

I salt and peppered the chicken and then seared it on med-high with some olive oil. After it gets a nice color, I add a tablespoon or two of G. Hughe's sugar-free bbq sauce, any bbq sauce will do really. Everything is then tossed around in the pan until the sauce caramelizes for that bbq flavor1 -

Chicken, peppers, broccoli, onions, green onions and garlic on cheese crust ♥

I forgot to add the sauce before all of the toppings though... but it was still great! I'll def add the sauce next time.

Taco bowl ♥ Ground beef, salsa, full fat sour cream, cheese, onions, green onions and garlic.
350cals Protein 28g Net carbs 8g Fat 22g
Sometimes I add tomatoes too!
Banana pancake : Half a banana and one egg mixed well fried in coconut oil then topped with peanut butter, whipped cream and two sliced strawberries.
298cals Protein 11g Net carbs 20g Fat 17g
This is for when I eat moderate low carbs (then I have around 40-60g net carbs per day). That would be all of the fruits I'd eat in a day though.3 -

*Drooling* A lot of great ideas!!! I just finished a breakfast of 8 oz shredded cabbage with 1 oz red onion sautéed in 1.5 tbsp bacon fat, with 1 oz freshly cooked and drained bacon diced up in it. SO good and a refreshing change from my usual breakfast of eggs cooked with bacon, onion, spinach, cheese. Now I need to learn to post pictures... sharing is caring ;-)1

Tokyoites and visitors: I just found an imported American beef lunch place in Higashi-Ginza, called Ikinari Steak. It is a chain. Paid 1300 yen (about $11) for this Angus beef (300 grams):
It came with a cup of beef broth (with bits of beef, onion and carrot in the bottom), a small salad, white rice and yellow corn. Ate the corn and some of the rice. Heaven! I will be eating here often. Notice the line of English below the condiments, warning about not leaving your valuables... attended.
