Happy Tuesday! :) I have a dentist appointment this afternoon and a few errands to run. It is a little cool with temps in the 60's so Autumn has arrived. I met my friend to watch the Cubs game last night but we went home before it was over and thank goodness because it didn't end until almost 2 AM my time. Unfortunately they lost but I do hope this is the year for them to win the World Series, I would love to see it in my lifetime!!!

Babe son's is still trying to scheduled all four tests at the same time which seems to be difficult. He said they are planning on going October 24th to which I told him I was not available on the 25th as Lisa is going for another extensive ultra sound to see how the baby is growing. I suppose I can still watch Daisy and help Lisa with Robby but I get a little upset that he just thinks I am available for whenever they need me. I know I will do it but had to vent a little, sorry.

Patsy, our vet also said to give Daisy only a half a bowl of water at a time because if she drinks to much that also makes her up-chuck. I hope you find a solution not only for her but for you.

I put up my Halloween Decorations, very simple but tasteful. Some lights on my finally finished balcony and thinking Christmas will be here before we know it and I am just not ready for the snow and cold, let alone the expense of the holidays.

    Have a great day!

Oh dear, our campaigns just get worse and worse and I surely agree with JACKIE about deselecting the candidates once the paranoia becomes too obvious! Yes, ANNE, I heard the slam about Canadian health care, and indeed I winced, since I have friends on it who do nothing but rave about it! Many of us are quite frightened about the possibility of this important office being won by a bully who never matured! Our Medicare works quite well, and perhaps the entire population should be on something similar, but much work needs to be done regarding the big Pharma companies who charge outrageous prices in the good old USA! I often wonder how many people are aware of how much more we pay for prescriptions than other countries. And our country cannot negotiate prices due to a ban on doing so agreed to years ago! Something sure went wrong somewhere!
SANDY, there you go again! Vent as often as you need, since you won't ever refuse to do what others expect of you! Since you already have important plans for 10/24, they can change the testing dates so you can take care of both without stretching your own needs! OK, St. SANDY, I'll mind my own business! You know we all adore you and are here for you whenever! o:)
Dear Grasshopper LIN! We have the ladies who play Mah Jong here and they just love their daily games! Great for socializing, too!
Oh my gosh, PATSY, you really do sound like you have a new baby! I'm trying to recall if I was as concerned when I had new pups, but I think I also had kids still home so probably just threw them in with the rest of the family! They amused us with their antics, and Gamine and Coco did have each other for play!
MARIE, what is your most recent diet change...and why did you change it when you liked the other with all the potatoes so much? Was your sugar affected?
BARBIE, delighted to read how well your recovery is going!
Mike doesn't know we are eating in the main dining room tonight so I'd better go up and help him dress.
Today my first baby daughter turned 67 years old!!! How, when, where????? She'll always be my "baby" despite her wonderful abilities and care for her entire family...and friends!

Well we're both tired, but Jim needs some sleep, loooonnng day! Going back to California last trip before our time off which we've earned!
Buzz, I too wondered about Marie's potatoes affecting her diabetes. Also the weakness she experienced?
Love reading about all of your days. Hope Marcella is alright.
    Stay well

Looking out of my window this morning at the last of our sunrise the sky has a glorious golden shine to it that hopefully heralds a pleasant day. After our walk this morning we plan to take a shopping trip to Plymouth, our nearest city to check out winter clothes since my doggy walking friend has lost over 70 lbs this year and her old wardrobe is being replaced. Then I'll be back in the garden!
Worrying about the young additions to our family pets is I think an age thing. When I adopted kittens over 25 years ago I didn't give much thought to how they'd slot in to my lifestyle or what they got up to but now I find myself watching every little move that Brady makes as he does his high wire act across furniture or disappears on to the surrounding farmland hunting who knows what. Friends who pop in for tea or coffee say they find their nerves frazzled by his antics as he clambers up the back of their chairs or jumps into a lap from a great height neither of which would have bothered them a few years ago!

Buzz ~ A major problem in our health care system is the extortionate cost of drugs so we all get held to ransom. News on tv in the other room just showed one of your candidates referring to a "little asterix" moment so there's a thought to hang on to!

Lin ~ Unless the gardener has tried to visit at 9 am when I'm dog walking, there's been no sign but as my energy levels continue to increase I'm not too concerned. The work will be finished one way or another!

I must get myself ready for our dog walk as well as check what that crazy kitten is up to as I can hear him charging about upstairs so will finish here and wish everyone, Anne, Sandy, Phoebe, Patsy, Barbie, Marie and any others I've missed a wonderful day.

JACKIE, I am so with you on the age thing and worrying about our pets. I was only thinking this the other day. When I had Jenny it never crossed my mind to worry about her if she occasionally barfed etc. Yet today, here we all are including my cousin in Australia worrying about our 'kids'.

I see Kim Campbell has joined in the anti Donald and his 'locker room' boy talk fray. Also, just before the news Leonard Cohen at 82 was singing his most recent doleful song. Boy, almost had me crying in my cuppa tea, almost, but didn't because I saw the funny side instead! Do NOT listen if you are feeling depressed! Lol.

Our drugs, or so I'm told as I never take anything, are just as expensive here in Canada as everywhere else. It's not so bad apparently when one becomes oooooooold, but nothing changes with the dentists! This I AM familiar with.
    Anne.

Good morning, congratulations to the Cubs!

Tai Chi is cancelled today as the large room is unavailable all morning. Darn. Well, will do a load of laundry, make a trip to the store for discount day, chop vegetables, etc.

Busy day Jackie. I have attitude issues from time to time when someone says they will do something and then does. Or get around to it. Glad you are able to work through this on your own.

Co,orang was fun yesterday. Large group of people and I loved the pumpkin I worked on.

    Hugs.

Lin ~ Gorgeous pumpkin.... if only they grew that way! The gardener gave the distinct impression he was as overwhelmed as me looking around at all the jobs to do so perhaps was put off although it is a career he's chosen for himself. Asking someone to help went against my natural instincts to remain independent so right now I'm happy to continue by myself although on our morning walk today we came upon a man struggling to walk with 3 dogs on leads and using a walking cane and during our chat told us he had recently moved house because his previous garden had been too big to handle so I'm aware the day will come, just not at the moment!

Anne ~ One of the 3 dogs we met on our walk was a tiny Jilly look-alike except ginger in colour. Her name was Poppy and she had far more grumble in her than the other two put together and did make us laugh! As we dog walkers chatted they all ran around playing tag so we told the gentleman that should have saved him from a long walk because they tired themselves out! I adore Leonard Cohen, in fact one of the first albums I bought as a teenager was his so I know how depressing they are! Will have to check out the latest and have a good cry!!!

I'm sitting here at my desk putting off the job of grass cutting but can't do that any longer so will get myself outside. Over £80 was spent on some new clothes and I'm delighted with what I found... a jacket, check shirt, soft amber jeggings and a dress-come-smock to wear over jeans. Oh yes, also packs of socks and knickers!

    CUBS WIN!!

Happy Wednesday or Happy Hump Day, whichever you prefer! :) Bingo tonight, hoping for a win for my casino trip on Sunday. I have agreed to stay with Daisy when Babe goes back to Mayo. As of now they are leaving on the evening of the 25th so I am free to watch Robby when Lisa goes for her ultra sound. Hopefully, both Lisa and Babe will get good results. Keep praying, I know it is helping.

Lin, that pumpkin is absolutely beautiful! I don't think I know anyone that has your talent for coloring. BTW, I finally got the frame of my puzzle put together, now to fill in the middle. I don't work on it as often as I would like, I am a television addict and love all the new shows, especially This is Us!!

I agree with all about our pets, they are so special and are with us for such a short time, it is hard not to worry about them.

Jackie, tell your friend congratulations on her weight loss, she should be very proud.

As far as politics which I try never to discuss, if I write my name in would you vote for me?

    Have a good day!!

JACKIE, my Jilly grumbles and tries to talk all the time and she makes us all laugh. I wish I could mimic her here, but she is trying so hard to make herself understood. I wish I understood her, sometimes she gets through to me with her mumbles and grumbles. Do you want to play tug squirrel? Sort of thing. Rrrrmmmgggg, no? Okay is it walkies. Joyous barks and leaps....... sometimes. You have been warned about Mr Cohens latest! At least this particular song! It starts off with a choir and sort of dirge. Get the Kleenex out prior to listening!

Anne ~ Choir and dirge, that sounds like a typical Cohen production!! As far as I can tell the smaller the dog the bigger the grumble. ;)

Sandy ~ Ummm, hump day?? Sounds rude to me but maybe you don't use that term!! :o

Marie ~ I wish you well at the pain clinic and hope your technical problems will soon be sorted.

My grass is cut, a new mobile phone is on its way to me after I somehow lost my old one. Has anyone else noticed it's so difficult to purchase a bog standard phone; they're all 'i' this and 'i' that when all I want to do is text to say I'm on my way somewhere or shall we meet for coffee.... life is so complicated these days!!

Oh dear, can hear one of the cats chucking up........... Hebe sitting at the top of the stairs licking her lips and a small amount of semi chewed bics a couple of steps down. As if we needed proof this is a common thing!!

Time to cook a Cornish pasty as I think I deserve it!

Lol, Jackie.....Wednesday is sometimes informally referred to as "hump day" in North America, a reference to the fact that Wednesday is the middle day—or "hump"—of a typical work week.

We all speak English but certainly different dialects! I am southern and there were times John used to think I was really from outer space. My family used to say John talked like a Yankee. Southern roots run deep. Especially southern and a big Irish Catholic family. That's a scary combination! Differences are great! That's one of the reasons we all love to go somewhere else for a vacation.

Can't look another minute of the political news. It is total soap opera now. The international situation has me shaking in my boots!

Katie is doing okay. She doesn't like the rain but she loves mud and mud puddles. She miffed that she got her face and feet washed off.
We have sunshine for the moment but some rough weather is heading our way.

Thank you Thank you Thank you SANDY, at last I can go to the polls and vote for someone I love!!! I'm so glad your dates are no longer in conflict! Good luck to all.

PHOEBE, so glad for you and JIM that you have a vacation to look forward to! You have the patience of Job!
We had an enormous Break the Fast dinner tonight (even though I didn't fast) following Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). It was such a lovely thing to see all the different ethnic groups, religions and races attending in great harmony. My wish for the world---PEACE!
JACKIE, PATSY, ANNE and everyone else with "babies" that up-chuck, you know you love every moment of those babies lives and wouldn't change too much about any of them!
LIN, amazingly beautiful colors on your pumpkin! Somehow it reminded me of that German artist whose graphics had staircases going up and down at the same time; lordy, I cannot recall his name, talk of growing old!
MARIE, so what's happening, li'l Sis? Pain? New diet? Can you share with us? We care too much to ignore your latest posts!
Trying to catch up on all my lost sleep, and my eyelids are pushing me to do just that!

    Good evening friends
Marie, how are you feeling and tell about your diet.
Not much going on here today. Lunch made. Cleaned house taught Bible study, dinner taco salad.
We had a lot of apples on the tree this year, honey crisp. They are so big and Mike and I split one every day.
I have squash, onions, garlic, tomatoes and about 40 lbs green tomatoes. All from the garden. My mums are so beautiful too.

Tomorrow DD coming over to sew. First taking DH to breakfast with her.
Phoebe, hope you can relax while you are off.
    Sandy, win at bingo.
Buzz, how are you feeling these days. Hope your legs get better.
    Shirley, just have fun.

Buzz, Dutch artist Escher perhaps? You have such wonderful events and special dinners. Peace has been on my mind often lately. Well more the lack of peace. Acquaintances seem to be ready to fight each other over this election. I am beyond tired of seeing insulting posts and comments on Facebook.

Sandy, hope you've piled up some winnings.

Marie, take care. Your post on Facebook was troubling. A fall at the doctor's office?

    Patsy, darling doggie!!

Chris, your days sound quite busy.

Anne, our weather forecast is for a freeze tonight so I have harvested all my last bits of herb and last zinnias. Sorry to see my cherry tomato plants were full of new blooms today. Darn.

Jackie and Anne, I read that Cohen is weary and says he is ready to die. He has never been a happy person has he?

Well, I have read most of the new Aurora Teagarden book by Charlaine Harris. Interesting.

Game morning at the library tomorrow. Then a webinar in the afternoon OR I could go to the senior center for coloring and/or Mah Jongg. Haven't decided.

    Time to go now.

    Wishing everyone well.

    Hugs.

Lin, is that the book where you are challenged to find the liar?
Yes, Marie posted on Facebook that she fell at the doctor's office. Bless her heart!
Yes Chris, except for the dentist, I'm going to rest and enjoy being at home
