Trust me, lady, you wouldn't "need" a full-posterior, either.....1 -
Aw, Ralf, you're too modest.... What a Gent!0

It fit!!!
Too bad I don't go to any fancy parties!
That looks awesome on you. Find a black tie charity event or something. You look wonderful in that dress, show it off somewhere.2 -

Wear it to WalMart and you might go viral on Youtube. Not sure I will ever fit in what I wore to my junior prom. It fits you to a T.7 -
Went to buckle my belt and guess What??? I went past the last whole... time for a new belt16

I went to a soccer game this evening. Food, candy, and beer everywhere! A bit of a nightmare....
I had 3 hotdogs with a little mustard (I had not had dinner, so was hungry) and Jason happily munched away on the buns.
I kept to my bottled water too.
BAM! Nailed it!! A fantastic victory.... (Unfortunately, I am pretty sure I consumed enough sodium for the next 3 days... )

74 (to date) posts? Yeah, I'd say she's a bit of a greenhorn! Bless her, she's on the first leg!4

LOL Yep. Double NSV. Ate well AND high sodium. Good stuff.3 -
My elbows have bones! Yup that's right I've never seen them before HAHA I was putting my hair up the other day and noticed the bones in my elbow13

BAM is right! Good for you for not having all the candy and other "stuff" that could have been tempting you. Hot dogs are pretty loaded with sodium but the masses of folks eating very low carb have need for increased sodium so you may have done yourself a favor. If you haven't done do already, take a look at the info in The Launch Pad of this forum. Specifically regarding "keto flu" and electrolytes.3 -
@Just_Eric - Not exactly new... I've been around over a year. I started out full steam ahead and then completely derailed when I allowed some very weak willpower take over (sometime after taking RAI pill due to thyroid cancer). Last 8 months I've: been reading up on various Keto topics, gathering recipes/books, created an exercise area, cleared out garbage food, and organized kitchen.
The last 3 months: I logged onto MFP everyday so as to make it a morning habit. I spent many hours reading success stories and random information.
Finally, I committed to a start date.
So, here I am...again.......and I have never been as focused and dedicated as I am now.
@AlexandraCarlyle - I agree with you, I am still a bit of a greenhorn
@nvmomketo - thank you ...it was good stuff
@kpk54 - thank you and yes, I keep my Keto-aid near by . Unfortunately, I am still exhausted, but that could be due to hormone-thyroid (lack thereof)-body adjustment-fluctuations. I am fighting through it.....5 -
I actually have an NSV now: I'm not eating my usual comfort food with stress.Yay!
I am having a spring where I have overextended myself in volunteering (coaching, organizing a grade 9 grad party, going away album for our assistant principal), the kids' homeschooling involved some major projects for competition (they won!), organizing my oldest's scinece co-op to challenge a high school course, hubby is cranky because he's in a bad job, and now it looks like I have some skin cancer on my face that may result in some scaring once I get it taken off (I'm not very vain but enough that I'm not looking forward to it).
I am feeling alittle ragged and a bit of a pull towards "treats" of jelly beans, cookies or jujubes, but I haven't caved! I am even eating meativore May and have not even had treats like nuts or snap peas. Just an extra pepperoni stick here or there.
I've been LCHF for a fair while now, so it is nice to not have thoughts of sugary treats jump instantly into my head when I get stressed. And when it does, I KNOW that eating the sugars would affect my health and energy making coping that much harder. How very vulcan of me.
Even out at family functions the last couple of days, I still stayed completely on track. Not a single roasted marshmalow, slice of water melon or even corn on the cob.9 -
NSV for me today, my sister and I went on a hike together! A year ago, neither of us could even dream of going hiking. I wasn't even willing to try and walk around the block last May.
My sister has been low carb for about 11 months, I'm at just under 9 months, we've been inspiring each other back and forth, and today was a bit of an adventure for the both of us. Hills, uneven terrain, 'treacherous' paths, and we did it together. I'm still a bit excited about it.

Meativore May is paying off. All my XL shirts are pretty much retired as of this week (there are a couple that I'll still wear because I love them, even though they kinda make me look sloppy now). Had to replace all my plain white and black tees last week. New shorts that I just bought about 3 weeks ago will fall off of me without a belt. Speaking of the belt, in a new hole. Speaking of a hole, half of my index finger will no longer disappear into my belly button.
It kinda sucks to be where I am financially right now. I'm getting into the neighborhood where weight loss needs to stop, and recomp needs to begin, but I have a number of unexpected expenses this month so I can't afford to join a new gym with olympic weightlifting equipment nor afford a trainer to put his eyes on my form which I'll need since it's been years since I moved heavy stuff around.
Scale victory: 4 lb whoosh the last 2 days after about 2 weeks of leveling off.
Push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups and burpees will get you started until you can make the gym! Great progress! Don't let $$$ slow you down, man!1 -
Finally did three days in a row intermittent fasting. Waited to eat until 2 pm each day. My head tells me I am starving, but then I forget about being hungry and discover it's 2 o'clock. I had noticed I with eating around 11 when my brain tells me I'm hungry was causing me to overeat on calories even tho I was within my macros and my carbs were kept quite low. Then I had to wait until 2pm one day in order to eat and I was completely satisfied after my evening meal. Decided an experiment was in order. I'm going to keep this up. I know many say it's just effortless, but I was going a week with losing no weight, and at my weight I should be losing a bit faster I thought. So now three days in and scale victory this morning almost 2 lbs gone.9

Have had two different people tell me in the last couple weeks, "you just look really good up there," while horseback riding.7

I have pretty weak hips and my IT band is pretty badly inflamed from too much running about a month ago. At the recommendation of the osteopath/sports medicine guy at my doctor's practice I just started seeing a physical therapist today about getting that in line (that's one of the unexpected expenses). They have me on a regimen of various stretches, squats, planks, etc. I'm hoping that in a few weeks when the hip is all rehabbed and my hips and core are a little stronger I'll be in a financial position to get on a barbell program and really attack it to take the fullest advantage of my newbie gains phase.
I'm starting to think that things come together as they should, and in the time they should. Maybe it isn't coincidence that these debts came up right about the time I was pushing too hard on the cardio and hurt myself. #hippiebullshitSteph_Maks wrote: »NSV for me today, my sister and I went on a hike together! ....THIS is *kitten* awesome. I don't live near my kid sister, and I didn't even know her until 3 years ago, but I'm likely moving to where she lives so that we can get to know each other well and share some life experiences. I can't wait for stuff like this. Thank you, Steph, for the reminder to get my *kitten* together so this dream comes to fruition sooner than later.
I wish you well on that journey. It will be one of infinite discoveries and a whole new world of social interaction.
Great news!

102 days seizure free! Total NSV for me!23

I work 3rd shift but had training today during "normal" hours. Several people who hadn't seen me in a couple of months nearly fell over themselves when they saw me. I work in a prison, and even my Warden made it a point to come up to me and say something nice! One girl said, "I just can't stop looking at you and how skinny you are!!!" It was kind of a "Love Liz" day and it was amazing and wonderful. I'm about halfway to my "stop and reassess" goal, and I have apparently hit that point where others are noticing!11

Went shopping today, need short and capri pants for summer weather, I have undergrown my older stuff. I pick up size 10, 8, and 6 of each pair of pants. 10s, I can pull down without unbuttoning them. 8 those are just toooo baggy all over. 6s just right. Gotta love those NSV even when they hit your wallet.12

Lol it's not so inspiring if like me you have elbows that look like "chicken bums" (that's what my brother used to call them because they are pretty sharp and have the same shape as that piece of roast chicken NO ONE fights for .)1 -
I was wandering around in the altogether, this morning just after taking my shower, and preparing to get dressed in my uniform... hubby says he spotted me and I nearly didn't make it in to work on time, today....10

I saw 5.4 on the estimated A1C with MySugr yesterday for the first time. I have been bringing this down slowly, but I was "stuck" at 5.5 for what seemed like an eternity.8
