@cyndiesstuff Wifey made buttered popcorn last night as well. Lol. I just do my best not to think about it.
Seemed to be doing good yesterday till late afternoon. I ended up with another headache. Caused me nausea so I had to skip dinner. I got home and dreaded the thought of doing yoga...and it was a particularly difficult session. I did it anyway and tried to focus on my breathing. And I still had another 3k steps to do. Went downstairs to visit my mom and did figure 8's around her living/dining room. Got both yoga and 10k steps in. And it actually seemed to help my headache.
Molly and I have been teased by slight sore throats. But the last few nights we have sucked on zinc lozengers. They are little miracles. It is shocking to me how great they are at preventing illness. I would normally be down with a severe cold by now and being miserable at work or stuck in bed. But not this time! I feel just fine as I continue to take care of myself. It's more important to me than ever before, that I stay healthy. I have not taken any medication since October 15th and I am hoping to keep it that way as long as possible. I am happy to have options but I really prefer to take a holistic route.
Now I know how important it is for me to read labels. But for some reason certain items keep slipping into the cracks. I decided I would include fermented products daily into my diet. Today I was thoroughly enjoying a pink lady Kombucha. 1/2 way through the bottle I turned it to the ingredients list as I was smacking my lips in delight. Sure enough made with black and green tea and evaporated cane sugar. Well no wonder it was so tasty. Oh well...I just keep doing my best. Both caffeine and sugar on my no no list. But wisdom in all things...right? I stopped and will save the rest for tomorrow. And probably wont by it again. so sad.4 -
@lenka1 I got my planner in the mail yesterday. The same one as yours. It is exquisite! Thanks for sharing yours. I am loving flipping through the gorgeous pictures.2

Things that suck:
- I'm back at the studio today and I'm not prepared and I hate that.
- My blood pressure isn't going down.
- My annoying coworker is being useless and annoying.
Things that don't suck:
- the sun's out
- I finally was able to make an appointment with my therapist
- I cleaned for like 10 hours on Sunday. No joke. You could eat off of my ceiling fans.
- Second number in my weight was back to a 3 today. Barely. But it's back.
- As I was typing this my boss walked in and said I'm getting a dollar an hour raise starting this week. And I'm sure my face was so ungrateful. I am grateful. But the list of things that suck I think are coming across in my attitude today.
Part of my background on my work computer...

@NuggetBrain wooo whoo.... nice loss. how are you doing? what are you working on?
@Mrsbell8well I didn't have any. I went to the exercise room and read some of my book. and you are right about the labels. for a snack I thought, mmmm smoked salmon sounds good. I read the label and they put sugar in it. omg. are you kidding smoked fish does not need sugar. I am going to get Jim a smoke for his birthday. then we can have smoked meats the way we want them.
@DananaNanas hey girl. your good list way out numbers your bad list. and a dollar raise? what a great way to start the new year. and the sun is out. mmmmmm you are a lucky girl for sure.3 -
Lets talk about slips or falling off the wagon:
First off, slipping is natural, normal and usual. Slips are nothing more that old habits that haven't been broken yet. Remember that slipping is not the end of your dreams for a healthy lifestyle. Slips are nothing more that an opportunity to learn about the cues that lead to the slip and to understand the negative or self defeating thoughts we have after a slip.
Falling off the wagon is a normal part of making a lifestyle change. Everyone who sets out to lose weight and be more active will slip. It truly is to be expected. If you have not already had some slips, you will almost certainly have them in the future. Slips are inevitable. I really hope that this does not sound discouraging. Slips do not hurt your progress. What hurts your progress is the way you react to the slip.
Slips are nothing more than learned habits. So they are very difficult to avoid. When you slip, you have several options for getting back on track and starting to again move toward your goals.
1. Talk back to the negative committee that meets in your head. Replace it with positive thoughts instead. Negative thoughts after a slip can be your worst enemy. they can lead to you feeling discouraged, guilty, and angry. So talk back to those negative thoughts with positive ones. For instance, "I am not a failure because I slipped. I am human with habits. I will get back on track right now."
2. Ask yourself what happened and write it down. What happened immediately before, during and after. What were the triggers. Look closely at the situation. Was it a special occasion? Did you overeat because you were lonely, bored, or depressed? Did you eat or drink because of social pressure? Now right down your triggers. Now what will you do instead? Make an emergency escape plan. place this plan where you can read it daily at a minimum. it will help you break those old habits.
3. Regain control as soon as you can. Make your next meal a healthy one. Get back on the schedule with your activity plan right away. There will not be that much damage if you do this.
4. If your still having a hard time, talk to someone supportive. Come here and talk to us. Trust me we all know exactly what you are going thru. Talk it thru do NOT eat it thru.
5. Focus on all the positive changes you made, and realize that you can get back on track. The same person who blew it today is the same person who was successful during many previous weeks. Slips do not reveal the real you, (hopeless, lacking willpower); they are simply a behavior that can be changed.
Slips are normal and to be expected. Almost everyone who is on the way to losing weight and being more active has slips. But a slip does not need to lead to giving up completely. Slips are useful learning experiences. No one time of overeating or not being active, no matter how extreme, will ruin everything. You will not gain more than a few pounds of weight even after the biggest eating binge imaginable—unless you stay off track and keep overeating time and time again. The slip is not the problem. The problem occurs only if you do not get back on your feet again and keep going toward your goals.
Remember, you are making life-long changes. Slips are just part of the process. Keep at it and someday, maybe soon, those old habits will be gone and will be replaced with health new habits.

TOM still here, and today I am depressed, dull and really bored. No morivation or desire to move unless it's to cause self injury or harm myself in some form. Keep eating chocolate for no reason...Gotta pull myself together, if I stop now, I still have 548 calories for some kind of dinner without going over my limit. 😫7

Finally checking in - work was so busy today I barely made it up to breathe.
But I can check in for two days 😂
Monday and Tuesday were both good days. Lots of water, healthy food, steps and yoga! Yesterday’s yoga was hard (core) and my back was pretty twingy today but the today’s yoga helped it. I am sure it’s just some muscles are loose and some are tight and pull funny on my lower back, usually some forward folds fixes it.
Time for sleep now but hopefully tomorrow during the day I can check in,
Have a wonderful restful evening!4 -
I am pooped. Had a very productive day but not very active. Not the best choices eating but not too bad. I will catch up in the morning although I will be sorry I waited lol!

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was a good day of tracking and exercise woke up with my body feeling sore from the workouts and I love it! I can't wait to do it again today, no weights just cardio. I have to find a good stretching routine for after the workouts. Have a great day everyone!5 -
@cyndiesstuff great plan. that is totally what i had in mind.
Tuesday checkin
food on target
water on target
exercise 30mins running weights.
I had a bit of cheese which someone had brought in to get rid off post christmas and as it is not part of my sugar ban it is fair game. It is accounted for albeit as an estimate.
The dude on the desk next to me is having a ham and cheese crisp sandwich. It sounds amazing as he munches his way through it. I am going to bust out my quorn sausages and sauted potatos and peppers. I will win the lunch war today!8 -

I am sure you are all cosmopolitan but in case I confused any of my US friends... my colleague was eating a potato chip sandwich with ham and cheese. Definately not diet food!5
