What a wonderful touching eulogy for Marie! I feel more the loss for never having a chance to know her. In so many ways this forum must be a testament to this caring woman. A guiding light toward the friendship and support she showed others. I suspect we will carry on, Marie! You are not forgotten and will remain the group leader. To a life well lived.....God rest, Marie! You will live in our heart.

I just learned of Marie's passing thanks to a message from PJ/Phoebe through FB (Can't remember her MFP login)
I was lucky enough to meet Marie on one of my TX visits about 5 years ago. She was just as nice in person as she was online. She will be missed.2 -

MARIE, we are all using whatever means to get through to that super strength and determination that is YOU, and help you get throigh this tough period. To your wonderful family, we are all here with you, hoping hard as can be or MARIE will pull through this one! HUgs, kisses, prayers, white light, anything and everything that works!

Sorry, that last post was one of the lost ones and too late for the sad news about my "Li'l Sis"! I just hope she did not suffer. Through her, we learned to love her family, and she raised an incredible group! I will never forget the many diets Marie would change to to lower her diabetic sugar count, and she carefully followed each one until the next appeared! I do hope her husband's dementia is very slow growing! And to her beloved children, we will think of you and your Mom often, and wish you many happy memories! You are included in our "family" with loving thoughts! Buzz

Oh I am so sad to hear of Marie’s passing. I enjoyed her so much. What a good eulogy. Every time I log into MFP I think of her.

Jake and I are sorry to hear of Marie's passing. We "met" her in 2009 on MFP and enjoyed her so much. For several years we called her on her birthday and sang to her then talked to her for awhile. Marie was a great lady 2

Marie a very special lady that we will all miss greatly. Enjoyed the eulogy, which was beautifully written. May the following days be blessed with wonderful memories of this special lady. We will never forget her on MFP.

Hello Sneakers. Nearly 1pm but we haven't walked yet. It was so miserable first thing and both dogs did what they needed to in the garden so I thought I would wait for the weather to pick up. Washed bedding was hung out to dry and almost immediately a mizzle drifted in but I've left everything where it is in the hope the sun appears. Meanwhile I'm doing the odd bit of housework and also looking through the wonderful array of colours in a wall paint chart I ordered that arrived in the post this morning. Decisions, decisions!
Yesterday afternoon I cut down a mass of bamboo at the bottom of the garden then, when I began to feel the temperature falling, turned to get down from the rockery only to find I had trapped myself. Lots of tottering and grabbing small branches on shrubs to get myself down to safe ground! My neighbour's nephew popped round this morning to ask if he could take some to use as canes on his allotment so already the created mess looks less so! The hens need a clean out and also I want to cut up some wood for the fire but that's all for today really.
I'm still finding it hard to believe our Marie has passed but when I think of her she brings a smile to my face because that's what she always did whether the discussion was diets, Sammy her dog or her latest creative project. Oh yes, there was also her love of teddy bears!
Have a peaceful Saturday everyone and let's hope a hornets nest hasn't been poked in the Middle East!

Hello ladies, well we woke up to snow this morning after a mild Friday. Not too bad today, tomorrow is supposed to be much worse.
A hornets nest poked in the Middle East JACKIE!! I just hope Canada takes a low profile and keeps out of the mess. Dorio rolled up with the groceries and we had a long discussion about it, plus white supremists, black killers of the Jewish people, and other less than desirable humans and we both hope Canada just sits back and let's us mortals deal with the weather and whatever else that gets thrown at ordinary folk.
Doesn't this make you shiver your timbers.
I'm making a cabbage, veggie and bean soup to warm me up. Jilly Beans got the right idea, she's snoozing on the sofa.

Happy Saturday!
We have a brief snow covering but not on the streets so driving should be fine. I will be going to mass alone and from there to Lisa's to drive with her to the movie.
It is a kid's movie so it shouldn't be long.
Nice to see some of the sneakers drop in and give their condolences for Marie. It would be nice to have them drop in on us more often and catch us up with their lives.
Anne, your picture doesn't make me shiver but in awe of how beautiful it is. Enjoy your soup and stay warm.
Jackie, what a great memory of Marie and her teddy bears. Her passion was the Dallas Cowboys which always remind me of her.
Alice is a terrific daughter and so caring, I know her heart is breaking but I hope she knows how much she was loved by both her mom and her dad.

Sorry, should have written. The wintry view is what Michael woke up to from his condo window. However, we look exactly the same here. Brrrrrrrr again. Soup consumed. Hearty and soooooo good.

Hi Ladies - I don't post on her very often and some of you won't even know me but I joined MTF about 8 years ago and Marie was one of my first friends....she was Buzz'z "lil sis" and my cyber "Ma" so I want to offer my condolences to my cyber Mum..She used to sent me cards that she had made herself and we skyped a few times with Sammy sitting at her feet but she said she couldnt understand my accent and I thought it was her...lol...She had such a big heart and genuinely loved her friends and family and was much loved in return.....I sent her a framed photo of a yellow rose which was her favourite...she called it "the yellow rose of Texas. My Ma will always hold a special place in my heart...
On another sad note...my son was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma and started treatment late September - after 4 doses they told us on the 4th December there was nothing else they could do except make him comfortable...he was with us for just over 3 weeks and then went into a hospice unit for more specialized care than I could give....I went up to see him the day before and we went for a walk and sat outside in the sun...I knew he was deteriorating but thought i had quite a lot more time with him but on the Monday morning at 8am they rang to say he had gone..he had fallen while trying to get back into bed and hit his head...On Thursday we buried him and today would have been his 49th birthday so an especially sad day.......hug your loved ones.1 -
Oh Judy, there are no words of comfort and how hard this must be to share. I am so sorry and all I can offer is prayers and hugs. He and Marie are smiling down on you and letting you know how much you are loved. God Bless you and your family. 0

Hello there, it is a really sad beginning to 2020, isn’t it? I only hope things don’t get any worse. I really didn’t get to know dear Marie but I knew she was a dear person. She was important to so many people!
As you all know I am very tuned into news and political situations. It has always been a huge interest to me. To say that I am overwhelmed and concerned for us all is an understatement. Good friends and family are all the more important. I guess Marie’s life was a lesson in kindness and caring.
My sincerest sympathy Judy. Losing a child, no matter the age, is heartbreaking. I hope you come back to visit the sneakers often. I find this little group uncommonly supportive and kind. It appears you already have good friends here!
The day is windy and threatening to rain at any moment. I will put on a cd of light Mozart to gladden the heart and start some task that requires attention.

We are sad to announce that on January 3, 2020, at the age of 89, Eula Ward (Mesquite, Texas), born in Dallas, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6th 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Laurel Oaks Funeral Home (12649 Lake June Rd, Balch Springs, TX). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 7th 2020 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

Oh Judy, a desperately sad time for you. I’m so sorry you’re having to cope with such a loss after I imagine barely having time to come to terms wIth the devastating diagnosis. I remember your past posts that had many stories and pictures of all the lucky pets that had been in your life and the love you had shown them so know your son would have been wrapped in that love of yours like a huge blanket and taken comfort from its warmth.
You know I’m thinking of you and send hugs in your direction. A long way to travel but they will reach you! ❤️❤️

Oh dear , JUDY, I cannot begin to imagine your grief, but every one of us is sending hugs, love, prayers, and sympathy beyond imagination for the loss of your son! I do remember how we all loved the sun years ago, and then were warned to stay out of it after the damage was done!...I've missed you here in our small family and hope you will come back more often!
PATSY, has it occured to you that we havenever changed Presidents during a war? Have you the feeling that this was taken into consideration by this narcissist and his scary advisors? They break every decency already, so throw another war on the fire (informing only closest party officials?) and to heck with following rules!
Since I have very little to do with Facebook, I have not seen Marie's obituary, Is there a link? Darn, I keep dozing off, sitting here at my desk! I hate to picture myself somwhere dozing off at my laptop, with no one aware that I'm jusy showing signs of aging! All those stories seem to be comig true!
I would remind you all how much I cherish our relationships,and reading our posts is a most important time of my day!
I think I'd better say goodnight while I'm slightly ahead of the game!

Good morning. This is Marie’s daughter Alice. I wanted to thank you all for years of love you gave my mom. She loved her sneakers family and regretted not being able to post lately. I joined today in her honor. I did not join before so that she felt comfortable posting whatever she needed to without “prying” eyes.
She was my best friend and my memories of her are happy and joyful.

A little good news ALICE amidst the sadness. Your mom will be so pleased you have joined her long running group.
Up here it's a gloomy day with snow promised later this afternoon. It's also the 12th day of Christmas and I hope nobody sends me 12 drummers drumming.! Although I bet some child received a drum set! SANDYs grandchildren by any chance?
I'm hoping Michael shows before the snow starts. We haven't seen him for 17 days and one small furry girl is running out of her favourite treats! Calamity if she does!
I'm up late. What's new on these dark mornings.

Happy Sunday! So happy to have you join us Alice and I must also say what a wonderful daughter you are. I am so sorry about Marie but as Lin said, if you go back and see how much she was loved it will touch your heart. Welcome.
The movie was good yesterday and the kids loved it. Today we celebrate Max's 3rd birthday with tacos and birthday cake. (can't start my diet yet Jackie) Tomorrow I am leaving very early in the morning to go downtown Chicago to the aquarium so probably won't be posting until late tomorrow night.

Hello Alice, it's wonderful to have you join us even though the circumstances are so sad. I echo what everyone is saying about you in that you're a credit to your mother and very obviously take after her with your compassion, love and support.
Thank you for posting her obituary link which works in the UK too.
Our forecast was for a mild day but I nearly froze on our morning walk as the cold air got through to the bone. When we were on the top moor I had a phone call from a lady who had seen the photo and description of my old greenhouse I'd posted on a local neighbourhood site as free to anyone who could dismantle and take away. She was interested to place it on her new allotment so came to look and is delighted to take it. A lovely person, she is going to grow flowers for colour dying but also wants to grow tomato plants so I was able to tell her about last summer's amazing crop in the greenhouse. She'll be back Friday to take it apart with the help of a friend.
Apart from whizzing round with my vacuum cleaner and beginning to clear my shed out ready for its move to make way for the new greenhouse I've done little else. It's gone 5pm and we still have a hint of light in the sky so definitely going in tbe right direction! 😉
Lin, I'm thinking you'll have to accept the title Communion lady is yours full time! 🙄
Sandy, Enjoy Max's birthday celebrations and any cake that's involved. That's fine, maybe start the healthy food next week! 🤗

Buzz, do you think nodding off at your computer could be due to late nights rather than age? When I'm late to bed I could easily snooze next day mid afternoon and I'm a little younger!! 😴
I've been looking online at nearly new cars for sale because my little Citroen is starting to do odd things like stall, refuse to get into reverse or tell me there's risk of ice when it's relatively mild! The Citroen C3 Aircross looks my sort of car although when out today I noticed the new Fiat 500X so that's my plan now, do some online research but look beyond just their colour. I appreciate these particular cars may not be available in the States!

A cold foggy day here. As usual winter makes things (and people) break down. Our plumbing is acting up. Ohhhh NO! No big back up but there was a small back up in the downstairs storeroom. There is a floor drain there that had a small sudsy burp! And the yard light in the back not only burned out but the whole fixture seems kaput! This is Katie’s night light when she makes her last peepee break before bedtime. As you can guess, she is afraid of the dark, so this is an important thing to get fixed. The phone line is messed up due to high ground water and some local construction. There is more ooopsies but you get the picture, I am sure.
Hello Alice! I must say you have a splendid attitude about your dear mom. “Happy and joyful memories.” I suspect your mom would be very proud of your strength and positive attitudes.
Jackie: isn’t it wonderful that you found a good home for your old greenhouse? It was adopted by someone else who loves flowers etc.
Must run to the dryer now. Washing on Sunday? I fear I must to take care of some Katie towels. Watching the drain issues however.
