    Good morning all ! It's my Friday, so I am in a good mood today... I woke up on time and was about to get outta bed, then the big ole puppy jumped back in bed with me and wanted to cuddle, so we cuddled for a few minutes, then I got up and did my 2 miles... The thought of I don't need to do that, did cross my mind, but I did it, and I did it all..

    I booked a camping trip for memorial day weekend, so I have a goal I would like to be under 168 by then... It will all depend on how quickly I can get that gain from the past 2 weeks off, usually when I have a gain like that it comes off quicker the 2nd time...

    We are going back to the same park that started me on this journey, and I am going to do the 5.5 mile hike around the lake, and then the 2nd day, I am doing the Homesite trail, it's not as long it's only 2.5 miles, but it's uphill, and you have to climb boulders... I will not sit around and waste my time drinking this time...

    I completely understand my camping trip may have to be cancelled, but I'm crossing my fingers that it won't , I mean it's camping, the whole goal is to stay away from other people...

    They are calling for rain pretty much all weekend which kinda sucks... But my bed finally arrived, so we will put that up tomorrow... Yay ! The little dog has a vet appt, and both cars need oil changes, so we need to get those done. Oh and I have the most beautiful beef tenderloin to make this weekend, that will be yummy...

    Hope you guys have a fabulous weekend and can find some sunshine to get you through the dark times...

    @micki48 I feel the same way when I go to the store. Logically, I know I am doing the right things, masks, hand washing, etc., but it still grosses me out. I am all about the pick up order, but next week, I will have to go to Costco and I want to start my garden soon.

    @conleywoods I feel the same way. The scale is stuck. I do need to do better with logging, but I need something else to measure my success.

    I may sit out in May. I might put my scale away. It is really frustrating me. I work hard, eat well, and it doesnt move. So, I say forget it, and eat whatever I feel like. This week, I am finishing up 21DF on Beachbody. Next, I will do Barre. I am hoping my husband will help me dust off my jogging stroller so I can turn my walks into walk/jogs. I need a plan for eating. Not sure what changes I want to make there.

    Hello Thursday!
    It gives me a lift to read your news this morning. The sun is shining after a full day of snow yesterday, so I am feeling much better - even though it is still cold. Funny how this temp felt downright balmy a couple of months ago, and now we're so wimpy about it. Today I'm going out to walk even if I do have to put on the jacket I thought I was done with for the year!

    Congratulations @eggfreak on your loss this week! You are the first green weigh-in so far this week, so you hold the tiara! I'm glad you like the habit tracker spreadsheet. I find it helpful too. Simple, but there's something about those green check marks :blush: Anyone can use it. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kfm2zGAheqpXKG4o3sj-sWen5bx6p14e12M1n0QhG9M/edit#gid=1801852206 Just find our team in the tabs at the bottom, add your name and anywhere from 1-5 habits you want to do every day, and start getting green check marks.

    @conleywoods it is bittersweet, and I'll bet everyone can relate. One area goes nicely (your food order, cooking new things) and another weighs you down (work!). As to losing the same 1-3 pounds over and over, and then finally hitting a new place and repeating the process - it is slow, but it is going. Maybe track those small habits, do an exercise challenge (there are nice free ones on darebee.com ), or just up the sweat factor a bit more. But as you say, it is working, even if it is slow! You are allowing yourself to adjust to each new level before moving down some more. Very healthy!

    @Gidgitgoescrazy you are like my secret other sister sometimes! The sock and shoe thing on one foot is one of my fave things to do. That and brushing teeth standing on one foot. Pilates really helps with all that hip stability stuff, for sure. Hopefully your camping trip will work - it sounds amazing. I'm getting my camping gear in order soon too, even if I can only go up into my own woods to use it. Gotta get out of the house and hear the wildlife more!

    @evelynladams527 my real sister! It sounds like things are getting a bit stressy chez vous - so wear that hat and make sure you get your time to study, and then get OUT and do some of those stress-reducing steps like @evangsimmons170 described yesterday. @Terytha and I coined "angercize" for when you just need to burn some of that stuff off. And then relax with your lovelies, making sure they take care of you as much as you take care of them. The hematoma is slowly (ever so slowly) shrinking, thanks. The colours are still quite spectacular and have continued to spread until a couple of days ago, but the pain is less and it does not look or feel quite as much like a large inflated balloon under there. Ugh. Can't wait to be able to lie down on the left!

    For friends who are interested in joining, first just give them the link to this page so they can look at the general idea, and suggest they wander about on the F2F home page as well to see how it all works. I'll have the sign-up for May posted later today and will post the link then. In the meantime:

    Might I suggest you stick with it for May even though it does not feel great right now? The decision is yours, of course, but giving up and eating whatever you feel like, and then saying you need a plan for eating sounds to me like you are on the edge of taking some new steps and are feeling unsure about it. It does not matter (in some ways) if you lose weight. What matters is making the changes and seeing what happens. If you don't measure, you won't know the answer to that question. Even if the result is not what you want, that means you have discovered a way that does not work and you can scratch it off your list. It took me many, many experiments to find what worked, and then it got much easier to stick with it. Stopping the experiments altogether is often a recipe for a return to happy feel-good foods that do not make you happy or feel good.

    That's my 2 cents' worth in any case. Of course, your situation is yours alone, and you will do what is best for you. If you want to be on the Support Team and continue to weigh in without worrying what effect it will have on the team numbers, that would work too. You can keep posting, work on your experiments here with friends. But if a full break for a month is what you really need, it will be yours! Just confirm whichever way you decide. Hugs to you! And bravo on the Beachbody workouts. They are tough :smile:

    @jugar Thank you for the ideas of what to do with cabbage. I have never made sauerkraut and it has been years since I have eaten any. The site you shared looks very doable.

    Here is the link for the May registrations / sign up thread. Please spread the word on message boards, among your non-MFP friends, and wherever you can.

    The May registration is at https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10793488/f2f-may-2020-registration/p1?new=1

    It is also good to suggest that people look around our general site and the teams.
    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/114605-fat-2-fit-weight-loss-challenge-and-support-group

    If they have a team preference, they should say so on the registration thread. You can certainly invite them to join our team, but in looking around, they might have a preference for a different one!

    Thanks for you help! You all are amazing :heart:

    *** Thank you everyone for reminding me that this journey is not perfect, but endurance is essential! May you all experience love, joy, comfort, & peace in the midst of this time. *** ❤
    I've been essential for all of this, so only weekend down time for me.
    Today begins "30 days of prayer (fasting optional) for the Muslim world" as Ramadan begins, so we'll see what food perspective that gives me. I love this time!
    I don't post much because my life revolves around Christ. Annoyance factor.
    That's all for now. Hard to bike & type!

    Every ounce counts. I just wish it was a pound. I am going to cutback on dairy. I am switching to oatmilk for coffee and and cutting out cheese. I am going to try a 9hr eating window. There a lot of moms in my nursing moms group that are doing it. I'm excited to take measurements on Mon. I really think my core is down. My arms and legs were already smaller then prepregnancy. It's all about the core.

    @jugar I will stay in for May. It's not so much about the lack of weight loss that made me want to stop, but the obsession with the scale.

    Good news! I know the obsession factor gets to us all from time to time. Tracking, weighing, feeling discouraged at the slightest bump upwards or the slowness of the downwards. You are nursing on top of it, so the hormones are not on your side! But I am glad you'll stick with us. Take a week off from weigh-in whenever you need to, just let me know.

    For non-dairy, you might consider almond milk as well. It is lower calorie and more nutritious than oat milk :smiley: Cheese is a very "dense" food with lots of calories in small amounts, so that is a good thing to try to replace. Be careful with the limited eating window - it might work great, or it might be terrible. Be your own experiment, but don't be stubborn if it feels really bad. I know for me, anything shorter than 12 hours is a no-go solution, but for others it seems fine. Keep us posted about your experience - it is all information.

    @evangsimmons170 you will make a comeback for sure! Actually, you don't need to make a comeback, because you're doing well right now. Sure, maybe it wasn't a perfect week, but you know what to do, and your clothes are fitting better!

    @YinxFed you too - great day, it sounds like. I especially like the part with just a little bit of work squeezed around workouts, dog walks, mask making, Spanish study, and healthy eating. That seems like a good balance to me!

    @Terytha hang in there! Let us know as soon as you have your results. The structure of work is something you miss most when it is gone - I hope you find some self-structure mojo that gives you some joy. I was thinking today that we should have a bubble bath marathon or something to replace Foam Fest. You're the one who inspired me to sign up for that, so if we can't go, let's do something silly with bubbles and a garden hose, a mud puddle, and whatever else we can come up with. I'm bummed the real ones probably won't happen, but we can try to cook up a zoom fest of some kind. Keep well and if you have any ideas about a team challenge or something, that might help us all. :heart:

    We had a rare day today - TWO visitors! These days no one comes here, but this morning, I was sitting at my desk and looked out the window to see a man walk by. I could hear my husband in the kitchen, so it was not him! It turned out to be someone from the "blow up team" as we call them. There is a quarry nearby where they dynamite from time to time, and someone from the team comes here to set up a device to record the strength of the vibrations. We had some trouble with our artesian well running low last year, so they agreed to make sure that the dynamiting isn't causing it. They are really nice about it, but today the call that they were coming came after the guy had already arrived! Then as I was making supper, someone knocked on the door and walked in - my son had come up to get some things he had in the basement! It was wonderful to see him. He has lost weight he didn't have to lose -- not enough mama cooking since he left this winter! His job is very physical, so he has a hard time keeping weight on (POOR THING!!). Maybe I'll just have to cook up a batch of something for him...

    So final Friday weights due (you know who you are!), and heads up for Saturday people:
    @Terytha
    @Micki48
    @lovethyneighbor
    @matthewsfive

    thanks!

    I’m going to take a break from the group for a bit. I haven’t been doing well and just not feeling it at this time. I’m going to try on my own and see where that takes me! I will still come and see how everyone is!

    We'll keep you on the "cheer squad"! You can come by any time, and if you want to weigh in you can, but it is not required at all :sweat_smile: It is a crazy time, and I totally get not feeling it - but you are always welcome.

    Hi team! Thank you for accepting me, I've been looking for a support team for a while and I'm so happy a friend posted about this group!

    About me - I'm Jackie, age 30, 5'5", 245lbs. I live in Michigan with my husband, our dog Oliver, and cat Fiona. I work as a therapist for dual diagnosis clients (substance use and mental health disorders) so I spend a LOT of time sitting on my butt in session or doing the endless amounts of paperwork.

    I have been overweight my entire life, and when I was 16 I was diagnosed with PCOS, which in some ways was helpful "yay I have something to blame" but also not so helpful "what's the point in trying?". I tried all the fad diets with little success and lots of frustration. I've been on and off MFP since 2009 I think.

    About 3 years ago I reached my heaviest weight at 269lbs and I decided to kick it into gear. I started logging everything, participated in the community boards, exercising, eating (mostly) right and lost 45lbs in about 1.5 years. Unfortunately stress and other factors got in the way and I stopped trying, lost and gained the same 5-10lbs for a while, and since being stuck at home the last 6 weeks I've gone back up to 245lbs. I'm not okay with this! I want to be healthy, I want to have a baby, and I want to have physical endurance, and I know I have to lose weight to achieve these goals.

    I started logging everything again a week ago, taking the dog for walks most days, and doing home workouts the other days. I saw a friend Mari post about this group and decided to check it out. I was nervous at first but I know how important having community support is in any lifestyle change, so here I am!

    Welcome @jguldi11 ! I think you have a fantastic attitude, all the right reasons, and I hope our lovely team here can provide some added support and inspiration. Mari is AMAZING and she got me into this whole thing too - it has been helpful for many.

    Just a few pointers:
    • The most important thing is to post daily and keep up with the team if at all possible. Even if you just tell about your banal day, complain about how you ate all the cookies, or laugh about how much fun you had out with the dog - it is all good.
    • Set a few small goals and report on those daily. Things like logging all your food, getting 30 minutes of exercise, whatever you set. We have a habit tracker you can use if you want to - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kfm2zGAheqpXKG4o3sj-sWen5bx6p14e12M1n0QhG9M/edit?usp=sharing Go to the bottom of the page, pick WaistAways, add your name and 1-5 habits you want to track.
    • If you have any ideas for challenges or discussions, post them! No idea is too "out there" to consider.
    • If you track steps, join our step team! @micki48 records daily steps and announces the totals every week. It is fun to see them add up. We will soon be adding some tracking for non-step exercises too. Stay tuned!
    Good luck! It's great to have you on board. :heart:

    @micki48 my steps for yesterday (24th April) were: 5607

    Greetings team - and welcome jguldi11, I think you'll like it here!

    Musings on Saturday (it's currently early evening in Worcestershire, UK). This morning I did my workout, under the watchful gaze of Edie, my pooch. Then I updated my diary for next week - since lockdown, I've started to put fun things in my diary as well as the serious stuff. I also scheduled all of next week's workouts (I rather enjoy this job!).

    Tiresome household chores have been done, and I had a few things that I needed to order online - check! I also have a house project that I am going to complete before supper - and that's to bring new life to my staircase. (I'm very excited about this - I might even share photos!)

    Supper will be steak and chips, and I have decided to have a gin and tonic - my reward (and motivation) for doing the staircase.

    Enjoy your Saturday, Friends!

    Sorry I haven’t checked in lately. I’m working on reading all your news. It’s just been hard to do for me for some reason. I don’t know why. This is a weird time but now I have my family here for the weekend. I haven’t seen my son in four months and we finally felt we were willing to take a chance. They’ve been quarantined and so have we.

    I try to write more later.

    Ok I need help with how to record my weight for the team. My old scale shows 161.4. My new shows 165.4. I’d like to use the old scale weight until the end of the month. Then swap to the new scale at the beginning of the month.
    Is that cheating?

    No weight change this week. I have been walking but need to get back to my workout videos. It has been nice outside so I feel guilty staying inside to exercise! It's cloudy and cold today so indoor workouts will be easier. I have been working on eating more vegetables and getting my water. I'm doing better with work stress. My husband and I have decided to cancel our family trip to the ocean. It will most likely not work out anyway. It's okay, we have been the past two years so we aren't missing a new experience. We usually dig for agates and we still have gravel we haven't gone through from last year. We have a Cabin on 60 acres we can camp on this summer. My husband's aunt and uncle have a lake place near us with a private beach. We will have fun and practice social distancing if its still needed.

    @Steph1498 I think switching to the new scale in May sounds like a good plan.

    @offitgoes So sad for your loss. Thinking of you. It is so hard to say goodbye to our beloved pets.

    @micki48 enjoy your time with family. I hope they lift your spirits!

    @terytha Hope you don't have to wait for test results for too long. Hugs

    Welcome to our new members!

    No! That is fine!! It is the one you have been using, so there is no problem. Next Saturday, use the old scale as well (that is the last weigh-in for April) but also post the weight on the new scale. I will use the old scale number for April week 5, and the new one for May starting weight. Those are usually the same, but in this case we can use that moment to move you over to the new scale without have a week with a bad gain showing up. OK?
