Thank you for putting your faith in me and offering me the invitation... I'll do my best to keep the good vibes flowing.
Also if anyone has a cheat sheet with everyone's first name? I'd appreciate it. lol π
If you look at the spreadsheet, I add first names as people introduce themselves.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1u_2q-myH9uzKKh0vNlxr7aEST6GdxYOS78VaH5vglfU/edit?usp=sharing
I'm Laura! I did include my name in my introduction, but it must be crazy to try to keep up with everything in this very active group. Will you please add my first name to the spreadsheet?
Sorry I missed it. I will add it now!2 -

Yesterday's graduation party for our son Andrew went well - everyone had fun and enjoyed themselves. I had a little too much BBQ and a couple of beers and I guess the scale caught me. Anyway, we have lots of fruit and veggies leftover so I guess I have the sides covered for this week's lunches taken care of.
@lindamtuck2018 and @Megan_smartiepants1970
I finally get to see my doctor today about my suspected hernia but after 3 weeks of no real exercise, it's just hard to make any progress on the weight loss so please go ahead and move me to the Support Team for the time being. I've updated my goals at this point to be more in maintenance mode for now until I can get my condition taken care of.7 -
@JimBoden3 - Hang in there Jim, sorry your having to deal with all these troubling issues. Hopefully it gets sorted out in good order.2

Monday Morning!
You know guys, sometimes you gotta do what's hard to do what's right. It was 18 degree's and muggy this morning at 4:50am. It was hard out there, no two ways about it. I did my 6 laps all the same, and I don't think I set any speed records, it was tough and I was drenched. π¦ π
If you didn't know Monday is my weigh in day, so the course includes getting into the house after my 6 laps, stripping, toweling off and weighing myself. (Yes, I use it all to my advantage MooooahAHAHAHHA). π
But I'll give you the bad new's first... Or maybe it's not? I just don't get it anymore.
Blood Ketones 2.4 (Great)
Blood Glucose 191 mg/dl / 10.6 mmol/L (NOT GOOD AT ALL) π€π«
GKI 4.42 (Good)
No idea what the really high blood sugar means this morning? Can I even trust that reading? I feel fine, energy is good. So, I guess I just keep going, like the energizer bunny? π₯π
And for the good news....
I"M DOWN 5.2 POUNDS THIS MORNING!!! BOOOOoooooyyYYYaaaAAHHHHH! Oh yeah... Oh yeah!!! Go ME!!! π ππͺπ
So that puts me at 404.2.... Only 4.2 pounds away from me having to climb on that Elliptical and see what kind of torture device it truly is? OH yeah, it gets me hot just thinking about it. π π π€£
Have an amazing week Boy and Girls! And remember some days it's just going to be hard, and that's perfectly okay! ππ
P.s. Back and Biceps after work tonight! πͺπ€Poobah1972 wrote: Β»Username: Poobah1972

Hi all, here for Monday check in.
It was nice to see the scale this morning. I'm a little dubious on the number for multiple reasons, however, going to definitely take it! With this number, I'm currently 0.6lb away from a total loss so far of 2.5 stone (35lb).
Like I said, I had a bike ride last week, did a 30-40 min walk in alongside any shopping and just general movement! I wanted to do some weights and take dogs out yesterday, but bizarrely I woke up with my shoulder/collarbone being sore so not sure what I did in the night, but it's on the mend and as I was about to head out yesterday evening it started to rain really heavy. Going to try and walk at some point today.
Still enjoying the pizza recipe at the weekend, can't get over how it's only 2 ingredients dough each time.
We've had a heatwave here in the UK last week after pretty much a whole month of rain it felt like. With this weather it has been amazing for my plants alongside adding organic fertiliser in the water.
I unintentionally got sunburnt after mowing front and back grass and my under hour bike ride (not on same day). My shoulders, top of back and probably parts of my arms got me looking like a drumstick lolly sweet. It's going down, but of course being burnt the skin won't likely go back down to it's original colour. Thanks for the suncream reminder
I think it's to be a decent weather week again, on that note, have a great week everyone!
Loving how active our team is in here.
Great loss3 -

I will move you over. Let us know how you make out and I hope the doctor can get things taken care of fast.1 -
@Megan_smartiepants1970
I'm so impressed by that insanely high walk. I'm going to slowly start increasing my distance so that I can catch up to you by August π Thank you for sharing that you like using Leslie Sansone videos for days when you can't get outside, I saved a couple to try out. Enjoy your walk!
Thanks @TheresaM787 ...today was shorter ...162 minutes and 6.64 miles ....once she is out of school (her last day is 6/10 we won't feel rushed to get home for her classes with other teachers ... Saturday's will be our lonnnnnnng walk .... I am hoping to reach 10 miles by July...we will also be swimming in our pool so this darn scale of mine better cooperate soon or else LOL3 -
Steps 6/6: 15,6723

I am happy to report my Blood Sugar before lunch was 91....on Friday it was 1093
-
So my manual pedometer is massively undercounting I had thought it was a little lower but today I jogged in place with it on for 40minutes and then took it and my phone on a walk I'm well aware is over 10,000 steps. The phone which had not had a 40minute jogg before my walk was almost doubling the steps using google fit so I looked at the distances recorded using google maps and it's under counting so it's getting the boot and I'll just accept that I miss some of my steps around the house. I'm glad I paid more attention today.6

Thanks - The doctor confirmed it's a medium-sized hernia but he did clear me to walk as long as I'm comfortable but no rowing or lifting anything over 15 lbs. I was a little embarrassed to let him know I'm a little over 200 .
Anyway, he didn't think it would be an issue to go on our vacation out west and go hiking (just no lifting suitcases, etc.). I just hope I can meet with the surgeon before we leave on vacation and then get something on the calendar for August.8 -
Today's weigh in, down 2 lbs π€7

@meghan_smartiepants I hope you are showing better numbers on the scale!
@iradi8 I'm glad you brought up the fitbit. I have one and I've been totally ignoring the noise it makes - I'm going to start paying attention and stand up when it signals me to do so. I do a variety of step videos: Get fit with Rick -I've only done one and it was a little monotonous, but he has a lot and a lot of followers - I'm going to try him again. Joanna Soh and Olivia Lawson are others I've done.
@lindamtuck2018 βfood is the most abused anxiety drug. Exercise is the most underutilized antidepressant.β Wow, that is powerful!
@azkunk - glad you are feeling the benefits of the fasting.4 -
@Beverly2Hansen @TheresaM787 Thanks, ladies! I appreciate your feedback and kind words3

Good Evening folks,
I'm on the clock this evening... I'm Trying Jameisons Time Release 10mg Melatonin tonight. I had some melatonin kicking around that I was using from time to time, but I've ran out, and when I did take it, I found it was great for getting to sleep and made a world of difference to the start of my day when I took it, but I'd still occasionally wake up half way through the night and have difficulties getting back to sleep. So, I'm guessing this time release stuff might just have the magic sauce? They say it isn't habit forming... But I'm going to endeavor to only take it every second night and see how it goes. Anyway, I got 20-minute left i figure, before it begins to work. lol π
Back and Biceps tonight... I'll keep it short.
Both Lynn and I are getting without a doubt stronger every week. Either able to move up weight or do more reps. We must have been working at a faster pace as well, because we were done in not much over an Hour tonight. π
As for the new dumbbells... Can a man love an inanimate object? Apparently yes, I CAN. The incline bench double DB rows were great, I was able to get a few more inches deep (that sounds perv.. sorry) before the DB's were hitting me. Which is Great? Let alone the solid feel and comfort. OOOooooohhhiiiiieeee! ππͺπ€ππ
In other news... I filled in my spreadsheets catching up on like 3 weeks of data... and I noticed since I've started working out, my calorie counts have definitely been on the rise. I'm just not sure if it's rising cause I know my muscles will thank me, or if I'm eating more cause, I'm honestly more hungry. Maybe it's both. Either way the weight is falling off, and I'm getting physically stronger, so it's all good. π
Good night everyone.... I'm endeavouring to get 7-8 hours of sleep tonight... And I wake up at 4:30am. So, it's a tight squeeze. ππ€π

@363days hugs to you and your family. It must be an extremely, stressful time for you and your mother. Please don't forget to take a breath, pause and take care of yourself for a minute.
@iradi8 it's mid 90s and humid here too. Funny thing was a week ago Saturday night it was 35 degrees. Fortunately heat index is in the 90s instead of hotter. When the corn gets taller it will be more humid. Am getting up early too because of the heat.
@Poobah1972 your gym is so awesome! You and Lynn must be pretty strong already to carry in all those weight plates and handles. Are you running a push/pull/legs program?
@rlaskey2 Sounds like it was a great weekend. Shame on your friend for bringing up an unpleasant memory. Sometimes it's hard to get activity in unless you can plan something ahead. We met my cousin's widow and son today. She was in town to purchase a headstone for my cousin's grave on her birthday. She is under a lot of stress since he was a murdered correctional employee with the trial for the first inmate coming up this month. They stayed for 4 hours to meet my relatives. Then my sister was here for supper and we are just finishing up the weekly laundry now. So a sedentary day foe me too.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 that scale will turn around in no time. I don't know about you but I always gain two pounds when I start a new exercise program. Sure it's just inflammation and water weight. It will recede over time.
@azkunk All those losses add up. Just think how much further along you are than when you started. You have been so busy with Covid, the big project, your new position and juggling your children's schedules.
@lindamtuck2018 that quote is so great. I will try to remember it. I have abused food and punished myself for decades so know what you mean about eating your feelings, too. The food hangover you talk about is a thing that I feel too. It's like punishment for overeating.5
