    Ugh. Sorry I didn’t get to you yesterday. I think about posting 1st thing in the morning when I weigh, but then I get busy with workout, clean up, food, etc.

    @conleywoods That's so fun you can grow fresh grapes... love that!

    @Emerald_Storm Amazing loss.. way to go!

    Today is off to the right start. As you may recall, my Friday workday ended on a poor note. Knowing today might be tough, I got up early, had my shower, did my initial walk, and then did my yoga practice and push-ups as well. Knowing I'm ahead on my daily goals makes the day much easier (and also fits with last night's intention to make the best of this last working from home week).

    The sun is out and I plan to get out for another walk with the dog at lunch!

    @jugar oh no you mentioned in the post for the 2 new people that have signed up Monday is the weigh in day I thought that was intended for me. I would post my weigh in on Saturday.
    I don’t have a dog as I live alone and am working.
    I’ll try my best to keep up with my goal
    Thank you so much for your encouraging words.

    Welcome to all new team mates - and hello again, to everybody!

    My name is Yinka. I'm 58 and married to Ben. We live in a charming little town called Bewdley in Worcestershire UK and we have an adult son who is married and lives with his wife across the pond in the USA (Virginia). We also have an aging, cantankerous little dog called Edie. Ben and I both work from home - I design and produce online courses, and Ben is in marketing.

    I have been with this group for a couple of years, I think, and my weight loss is subject to plateaus. However, I am currently training for a sponsored walking event that I am taking part in on 11th September. It is a 25 kilometre trek over 19 of London's Bridges. It seems that the regular practice walks, added to my workout routine, is having a pleasing effect on my weight loss journey. So much so, that I am seriously considering joining a virtual challenge once my September event is over.

    No problem! Did you change your username? No problem if you did, I just want to make sure you are the same person as rawataishwarya890 - if you feel comfortable to share your first name and where you live, it would be fun to know. And Saturday it is!

    I’d love to add all our teammates so please drop a comment so I don’t miss adding you.

    We got this!!

    This is a great idea - if you want a quicker way to see the usernames of everyone on the team, go ahead over to the spreadsheet. It is at
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XFwx56JkEb_TyzwU6_kMNtno8DHaBn3LZ6ihDJ7_p3o/edit?usp=sharing
    At the bottom of the screen, go to the WaistAways tab and there it all is. Anyone who has shared name and location has that listed at the far right of all the columns. Also over on the far right is the "weeks in the green" section. This records how many weeks you record a weight loss, no matter how small. Staying in the green is what we all try for! Under the weigh-in section are the support team (those who are taking a break from having their weigh-ins count as part of the team tallies, but still come in to post), the Goal Zone (for those on maintenance after reaching goal), the Step/Exercise team stats, and anyone who is dropped for not weighing in or because they decided to leave for any reason.

    I'll be you did not expect a guided tour of the spreadsheet today, but what the heck! I spend a lot of time in there entering information and then tallying it all up every week, so I like giving you a tour of the office :smiley:

    One advantage to being "friends" on MFP is that you can send messages to other individuals, including the captains. Sometimes there is an issue you don't want to raise on the general chat thread, or you want to set up a buddy system with someone else close to your same weight or life situation. It can be helpful to have a particular buddy you check in with daily. The team thread is great for discussions, rants, ideas, encouragements, and all kinds of news, but having a particular check-in with one other person works well for some people too.

    Tally ho - off for a walk now that it is not raining!

    @ashleycarole86 and @conleywoods I am so jealous of your lake time! I love to swim, and love it best in a cold lake - there are none near me here in Boston (that I know of).

    Week is off to an okay start for me. Dinners this week are copycat "Chipotle" chicken and rice bowls with sauteed bell peppers and some chile con queso. The cheese sauce is from the brand Stonewall Kitchen, if anyone is familiar - they do jams, sauces, dips, spreads, yadda yadda, and I'm often pleasantly surprised by the calorie content in 2 tbsp serving.

    I'm really getting ready for autumn and my return to the office - ordered some new work pants, a blazer, and some random tops/sweaters today from a few websites, although I am betting a return at least some of it.

    Last week was a little crazy for calories with the Mehndi night wednesday, my exam Friday morning (takeout lunch on the test break), the wedding Friday night (not an alcohol-free affair, I'll leave it at that :D ), and sleeping most of Saturday away to recover from it all! A little nervous for weigh-in tomorrow, but I did already get my workout in, plus a long walk. Might do another quick walk before dinner.

    Happy Monday!

    Another Albertan! It seems we have a great group there - @Terytha @ashleycarole86 and @bowens1973 - and my daughter lives there too (in Wainwright) even though she is not part of the team. I get out there a couple of times a year, so maybe we'll have a big meet-up the next time. Welcome!

    You bet I can put you back on the team! It is so good to have you back. It sounds like things have been difficult for you, but no matter how crazy things get, it will do nothing but good to take care of yourself. Lose some of that extra weight, and you'll feel more up to the challenge for sure. I am really happy to see you!! Do you still want to weigh in on Fridays?

    @Kali225
    It sounds like you are getting past your crazy week of exam, mehndi party, wedding, sleeping, and other fun things. I love Stonewall Kitchen products - my dad and step-mom have their summer place near the Stonewall Kitchen factory in York, Maine. I love stopping in at that store when I visit. Good stuff :yum:

    @TessieMac833
    Great start! As you say, the beginning is usually the easy bit - stick with it! Try to make every week "green" with a loss no matter how small. It all adds up. :heart:

    @micki48 Got you down for September! If you have your Aug 22-28 steps available, I’ll make sure they’re counted for my final report for last month 😊

    @YinxFed Your event is so close now!! So cool to hear what effect it’s having on your journey overall.

    @DD265 How are the PT sessions and runs going?

    @Kali225 Oh my, I also need to figure out the back to work clothes thing. I have this vision of walking in on day one in a new well fitted outfit and how that’s going to feel!

    @kellie_erin Well hello, yes the Alberta crowd is growing in this group.. fun! @bowens1973 and I live in Airdrie and we both work in Calgary. Welcome!

    Glad I got my exercise in early today because I ended up working late. Brad and I had a quick supper and we are both tired tonight.. there is little motivation around here! Another reminder for me why it works for me to hit the ground running early in the morning. Alarm is set for the same again tomorrow! Night folks

    It's nice to meet you all! I'll try to keep track of names the longer I'm on here, but it's so cool that there are so many people from different places that have had different experiences - I am always eager for new perspectives 😊.

    I guess a tiny bit about me? I'm Kellie, 31 (I don't feel like I should be that old). I've always struggled with my weight, especially since I met my hubby (his metabolism is amazing and he has a huge sweet tooth). I got to my highest weight in 2017 and lost a bunch for my wedding. I managed to put most of it back on and started trying to lose weight again in 2019. It was going okay went from 210.4 to like 173 in spring of 2021. But I started school because I couldn't find a job and then found a job and I can't seem to get the snacking under control after a long day of work. I really like my job and I wish I could get on full-time but it's doubtful. I've joined a gym at the end of July to try to change up my routine and kickstart the weight-loss again. But I really need to focus on my eating 😅.

    Anyways, sorry, I tend to ramble and am an introvert, but always looking for friends!

    Ugh. Just lost my post. Grrr

    Short version. Day was good. Logged and closed diary. Did 13 minutes of Pilates. Steps over 5k but not quite 8k. My joy was a free card and making bracelets for two friends.

    Happy Tuesday!
    August is ending - how did that happen? The best part is meeting our new people and getting some of that new month energy. It always helps!

    @kellie_erin
    There is no such thing as rambling too much here - I hope we'll become a great group of friends for you. Sometimes the rambling uncovers the thing you need right at that moment, so go for it. You are absolutely right to focus on food to get the weight started coming off. Exercise certainly helps so that you are burning more calories as you develop muscle, but (as they say) you can't out-exercise overeating. I'm sure others will share the things that work for them, but my first advice in the diet department is always to eat more vegetables and to get lots of fibre from fruit and veg, including legumes. That way you can eat nice big helpings without too many calories. It is satisfying and effective! Maybe you have already discovered this idea, but if you feel like reading about it, search "volume eating". I love being able to eat a very large plate of food without guilt or remorse. Because we all love to eat, right?? Keep coming back here and the team will soon be in your head.

    gotta go help the taller half with some stuff...

    Tuesday Weigh-In
    PW: 210.4
    CW: 210.6

    ugh, that hurts. Considering the week I had, guess I should be happy with only a small gain. And we'll go for 3 weeks in the green in September I suppose! (4 in October?? :) )

    I got out to a 25 min morning walk today. Following the Epic program pretty closely the last 2 weeks, but this week has been tough already! Sun was an EMOM (every minute on the minute) workout that had 10 straight minutes of abs, yesterday was abs & glutes, and today is obliques & shoulders. That's a LOT of core work 3 days in a row and man I am sore. Bit nervous for today. Absolutely must stretch out first. I am usually impressed with how many calories I still burn doing a more strength-focused workout (Caroline is great at that), but with ab work - you're often on the ground and the heart rate simply doesn't get up there.

    But keeping calm and carrying on!

    @jugar thank you for the advice! I'll definitely check out volume eating - I really dislike feeling hungry and part of that is a mental thing.

    I told my husband I'd joined this group and he gave me a high five. He's really supportive and I'm grateful to have him in my life! But he's never ever struggled with his weight so sometimes he doesn't get how frustrating it can be. Does anyone else deal with things like this?

    @Kali225 that sounds like you've been doing a lot of intense exercise!

    @nat_meister good job for not gaining!
