Hello! Today started out cold and then warmed up. My lawn mowing guy showed up this afternoon and mowed with the grass catcher which cleaned up the leaves. Takes a long time to do the lawn when you have to stop to dump out the grass catcher all the time. Tomorrow is forecast to be a cold and rainy day. But better than a cold and snowy day. I took some craft supplies to the library this morning and checked out the books they were holding for me. I have an advance entrance ticket for tomorrow’s exchange. I might not go because there is nothing I need. We will see.
Barbie, oh what a bout of illness! I am glad things are straightening out…..and that is amazing that while ill, you still got in 10,000 steps each day.
Jackie, that puzzle looks difficult. I hope you have the stamina to finish it. And Jackie and Sandy, we never rolled down any hills when I was a kid. We rode our bikes all the time. It was fun to find a way to get to the top of the hill (it was easier a block over) and then cruise down the hill ever so fast. That was great.
I am glad you heard from Anne and I am glad she is getting along okay.
Sandy, a day for you. All right! I got pretty much all of my groceries yesterday. It’s nice to have options when preparing meals. Going to Memphis for Thanksgiving. That is different.
Be safe everyone.

Happy Saturday! I went to Robby's karate tournament this morning and then took everyone to Mc Donald's to celebrate. He came in third place so we are very proud of him. After Church I am going to a comedy club with Cheryl and two others. She has free tickets but there is a two drink minimum. It should be fun. I think it is the same one that we went to two for the bachelor and bachelorette party for Rob and Lisa.
Lin, your riding down the hills at full speed sounds dangerous but we all did something dangerous when we were young. I did several things and lived through them all, thank goodness. The reason I am going to Memphis is because my daughter's whole family is going to her in laws house including my grandson and his wife from Hawaii which means I will get to see my great granddaughter for the second time. She is already two and my daughter told me they are announcing their second pregnancy.
I invited myself but was welcomed, I however, will stay in a hotel since all the bedrooms are taken. I am fine with that as I like my privacy.
Jackie, my goodness that is a big hard puzzle. Good luck and take a picture when you complete it.
Have a good day.
Sandy

Good evening. I stayed home today missing the craft supply swap. I was not feeling at all well overnight and was up a few times with terrible spasms and drenched in sweat. Must have been something I ate. I was kind of low key today, reading, watching videos and low intensity exercise. I signed up for another online card class from several creators who have offered classes of various types over the past 12 years. This year they aren’t going to have any live get togethers or classes, everything is going to be pre-recorded. I will miss the conversations. The class releases will start next week but they released some more background information today.
Sandy, another fun day and evening—hope you had lots of laughs. Wow, second baby!!! That’s a big announcement.
Jackie, hope you are well. Hugs for George and Betty.

Happy Sunday! Another day to myself. The comedy club was fun, somewhat risqué but still funny.
Cheryl and I are hoping to go on a vacation in January or February. We would like an all inclusive beach resort. I have a friend who just started a travel agency so I am asking her to help us find one that won't break us and is safe. We shall see.
Lin, sorry you weren't feeling well and hope you are better today.
Jackie, busy as usual.
Have a good day.

Hello, happy Sunday. Church was very good today. Some walking about and one cardio class, reading another library book and exchanging messages with a couple of friends.
Sandy, a bit more time to yourself and now planning a vacation. Wow! Thinking of a week? Or longer?
Wishing everyone the best.

I’m sorry I haven't posted since Friday. Saturday turned into a long day of visiting friends which was fun and I took George and Betty with me so didn’t have to rush home. I don’t know how you do so much socialising Sandy and remain full of energy! I was shattered by the time I got to bed so Today has been low key with a short walk before watching our Remembrance service with the Royal family and thousands of our veterans. Just a handful of survivors from my parents’ generation still with us and wonderful to see them in their bright red Chelsea uniforms.
It has been very mild so I spent a few hours this afternoon pruning shrubs and picking crab apples that I will use in a chutney recipe.
A beautiful tea service Lin. ☺️
Nearly midnight and definitely time for bed. Betty is already snoring!

Happy Monday/Veterans Day! A nice sunny day here but another day of doing nothing other than ride my bike. I have caught up on most of my shows but still have a few to go. I am already thinking about Christmas presents and got a list from Lisa for the kids. I will wait until Black Friday and see if any go on sale online.
Jackie you keep pretty busy yourself and most of yours is physical work. I do what I can and enjoy what I do most of the time.
Lin we are thinking of just a few days just to get away for a short time. I wouldn't mind a week but I don't think Cheryl wants to go that long but we will see.
Have a great day and remember our Veterans.

Happy Monday. We are experiencing temperature extremes again, this time from mild to very cold. At least we are finally seeing sunshine again and that was perfect for a longer walk on the moors. A mist drifting in the valley was beautiful but soon disappeared as the sun came up. Walking back to my car I met David talking to a group of holidaymakers from Switzerland who were about to set off on a trek. It was an opportunity to make a plan with David for another extra hospital visit of his, this time a 2nd blood test on Friday when Charmaine will be staying with me so I suggested we take a detour on the way back and visit the Plymouth Barbican area for something to eat. It is where the Pilgrims departed for America on the Mayflower and the original steps down from the quay are still there.
Housework took over the rest of my day and I’ve collected 2 loads of laundry to wash overnight and early in the morning to hang out in precious sunshine!
I am hoping no news is good news with Anne and she has rested over the weekend but will email her in the morning to check how she is.
Nothing worth watching on tv so I’m running a YouTube 80’s music mix video. Seems like only yesterday!! 😮🙃
Take care and keep warm.
Jackie 🥰

Hello. I watched SkyNews early this morning and saw some of the lovely ceremonies for the Day of Remembrance. We used to purchase paper poppies from vets and their supporters each year. I haven’t seen anyone collecting donations for years. I always think of them. My dad and his friend went to a free breakfast for Veterans each year. That was about all my dad did as a vet.
I have been reading manically to try to get through all the books I have checked out at the library. Making some progress and enjoying the books.
Well, first day of that card class. Gosh, 3 creators posted videos and 2 of the 3 actually posted several. Just too long to take everything in!
Tomorrow morning will be quite cold and I have a dentist’s appointment. Not a favorite of mine.
Jackie, your trip to Plymouth with David sounds as if a bit of fun will be included. Yes!
Sandy, a bit of time to yourself again. Yippee! A week long vacation isn’t that long and since getting where you are going can be stressful, you need more than just a couple of days! Hope you find a great deal.
Be safe everyone.

Happy Tuesday! Our fall weather is still pleasant with sun shining. Nothing much going on again today until later then I am going with Cheryl and Cathy to the movie theatre to see the new Tom Hanks movie. Cheryl gets all these deals for food and tickets so we go cheap. lol Working on finding a vacation in January. Still not sure for how long but we will figure it out.
Lin, do you read more than one book at a time? The American Legion still has poppies for donations. In fact one of the men posted the story of the poppy. I also see Veterans on corners asking for donations for the poppy.
Sorry it is so long but it is interesting.
Jackie, enjoy your Friday excursion and hope all is well with David.
Have a nice day.

Hello. It was a cold day here. I went to my dental appointment and left my coat and hat on as the wind seemed to be blowing through the lobby. I went to retrieve my mail just after dark and it was really cold….. I put on a heavy winter coat for my walk down the block. Am still on the evening live stream and I didn’t get through the day’s recorded videos of card classes for Day 2. I have a bit left to read on the most recent library book. I did finish my cardio classes though.
Sandy, sometimes I read several books at the same time. If the type in a book is too small or too crunched up my eyes get tired and I will shift to another book for a while. And no, I don’t get the large print books on a regular basis.
Thanks for the story of the poppy. And I hope you enjoyed the movie.
Hi Jackie. I must have missed you.
See you tomorrow.

Lin, what a great teapot. I usually read more than one book at a time. I have a physical book that I read in the bathroom, an e book that I read on the Kindle app on my phone in bed at night or anytime I have an extra moment, and sometimes an audio book that I listen to while I walk or ride the exercise bike. I consider it a quick check of my brain that I can keep the three stories separate and know what's going on in each one along with whatever I'm watching on TV (The Marlowe Murders).
Jake's daughter is visiting this week. She had flown from to Chicago for a professional conference, then flew to Seattle and rented a car and came over here. She slept here Monday night and then moved to an Airbnb yesterday afternoon. She flies home on Friday.
I am feeling better but still not completely over the bad cold I've had. Fortunately I'm well enough to take the dogs out and keep them occupied.

Happy Wednesday! The movie was a little confusing but good, but I love Tom Hanks. Nothing going on this afternoon but I will be spending the night at kiddos. I thought about just driving in the morning but I would have to be up at 5 to get there by 6 and I am not a morning person. Still looking for our get away in January. Cheryl doesn't like the idea of using my friend who is a travel agent, she said we could do better by ourselves. I will let her find a place and see if I agree.
Barbie, your mind must be very sharp to read three stories at once. Not sure I would enjoy that as I have to concentrate on the story I am reading. How nice Jake's daughter is visiting, that should cheer him up.
Sorry you are not up to par but you keep on going.
Lin, we are getting your chilly weather but not quite as cold. I do have the heat on though so not that warm. Good luck on finishing your books and good for you with all those cardio classes.
Have a good day and stay healthy.

Hello!
Barbie, thanks for the info on how many books you read at one time. Yippee! It is good to have brain challenges. I find it a bit challenging to work on learning 2 different line dances each week. One dance this week can leave you in the dust if you let your mind wander just a bit. The instructor lost her place once, we were just finishing the pattern and it was time to start again but she forgot the first steps. Very unusual for her. I hope you are having a good visit with Jake’s daughter this week. I am glad you are feeling better although not 100% yet. Keep improving!
Sandy, good idea to spend the night. Getting up really early isn’t always a great idea. Get a good night’s sleep.
I hope you and Cheryl find just the right place for a vacation.
Hoping all is well with everyone.

Happy Thursday! Drove here in the dark and rain last night, it wasn't fun. I did go to sleep early but also woke up around 5. The kids are gone now so I will try to take a nap. Ewok stole my tortilla that I had on the counter, little thief. Luckily, they had tortillas in the frig so all is good.
Cheryl came up with a good idea if it works out. Her sister and family go to St. Martin the end of January and she said there were two open beds if Cheryl and I wanted to go. Cheryl is finding out the details and we will make a decision.
Lin, when my kids were young a few of us moms took our kids to a dude ranch. They had a lot of line dances and barn dances that we all loved. Those were some fun years.
Hope you all have a good day.
Sandy

Hi! Another overcast day, damp, but no rain. The extended forecast includes SNOW! Maybe that will be I ccurte. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Mother day of cardio classes, reading books, striving to catch up on the card class videos. I guess I am not an adventuresome person. When a video includes designs and/or techniques that don’t interest me, I pass for the time being. Maybe another day.
I finished one book this morning and blasted through another book this afternoon. Ready to start a new one tomorrow.
Sandy, a trip to St. Martin with family sounds great! Hope it works out.
Take care everyone.

Sandy, going over the night before is smart. You don't have to worry about traffic or something making you late.
Lin, learning two line dances in the same day is too much for me. I used to go to a workshop every June where they taught many new dances. It was fun and very challenging. Now I like dancing the same dances over and over. If something seems boring, I find a new piece of music for dancing the familiar steps.
Jake's computer quit working on Monday. His handy computer fixing friend across the street came and got it and declared it not fixable. After much hand wringing, Jake decided to go to Costco and buy a new laptop. His daughter went with him and I urged him to choose what he wanted and not just look at the price. Later daughter helped him get started on the computer. The only trouble so far is not getting the camera to work on Zoom. He'll have his friend come over and look at it later.
My walking and dancing friend can't come over for dancing today. She has another doctor appointment scheduled. Her daughters and doctor seem to be pushing for her to see a variety of specialists. I know her memory is showing some blank spots so that might be what they are worried about. We haven't walked together all week because of weather and Jake's daughter's visit so our communication has just been by text.
Jake's daughter is on her way home now. She came over at 6 this morning for coffee and is now driving to the airport (two hours away) to return the rental car and fly home to northern California. It was fun having her here. She spent time on the phone and computer doing meetings and counseling sessions for her work and talking to her husband and teen age sons. She is clearly the sandwich generation right now. She is a darling and we are so fortunate to have her in our lives.

Happy Friday! Slept good in my own bed. Laundry is almost done and nothing but riding my bike after that. A good day to relax.
Barbie, I hope Jake's friend can figure out the camera on the laptop. Unfortunately, the desktop my son suggested for me does not have a camera so I bought an external one for our zoom calls. It serves the purpose so I am happy. My laptop does have a camera but I never think to use it for our calls.
I am glad you were happy with Jake's daughter's visit, step children can be difficult as in my case.
Sorry about your friend and hope she gets some answers.
Lin, please no mention of the S word before Thanksgiving. This is why I don't like to travel around the holidays and hope all goes smooth. St. Martin might not work after all as the place Cheryl's sister is renting only has two murphy beds in the living room available and I am not comfortable with that. I would really prefer and all inclusive but I am kind of leaving it up to Cheryl as she is more difficult than me.
Where oh where is our Jackie?
Have a good day.
Sandy

Hello, it is warmer today and we have sunshine again. Nice fall day.
I need a few more minutes of cardio so will look for one of my favorite YouTube videos or routines on Burnalong. Meanwhile, still doing my usual boring things, reading, watching card making videos, starting some test card projects, cooking some veggies and sending a few emails to friends. Everyone seems to be very busy and have plans all the way through the end of the year. My life is not conducted at that pace. People are having holiday family gatherings this weekend and will be on to visiting with other people and/or taking vacations in December.
Sandy, we have a new morning weatherman and he didn’t use the word you prefer to avoid. He just put clouds in several days of next week and said there was a chance of precipitation. 🙃 Wow, that accommodation wouldn’t work for me either. Going on vacation, you need a nice place. Happy hunting. 🤞🏻
Barbie, doing familiar dances is a great thing to do, no worries if there’s a skip in the video and intense concentration isn’t needed. Glad you find what suits you. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Sorry Jake needed to purchase a new computer but it was fortunate that his daughter was there and was able to shop with him. And having a neighbor who is knowledgeable about all things related to electronics is magnificent.
Jackie was making a trip to Plymouth today with David wasn’t she? As to other days, either very busy or problems with her Internet service.
I sent an electronic card to Anne this afternoon. She sent back an email saying she’s not able to open the card and will ask Michael for help when he gets home. She said she is having problems using her iPad. She sounded okay though. I think she has an appointment with her heart doctor soon.
Be safe everyone.
