Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

We have -5 (C - feels like -11) clear, cold degrees with an expected chilly, sunny high of only 4 and 2% chance of precipitation.

It doesn't get this cold often around here.

I have the last load of laundry to fold today. I will certainly want to refresh it in the dryer first though.

    good morning all
Ed, seems like the East Coast is getting a little blast of arctic air. Most winters we get some days in the teens F, so this isn't so bad. As I've said before, I kind of like the cold.
It's currently 25F, -4C here, bits of sunshine popping through. Mostly cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 28F, -2C. Winds WNW at 15 to 25 mph. Higher wind gusts possible.
I have my yearly dermatologist appt at 11, and my rheumatologist at 2:30. My knee and leg are still bothering me so I hope I'm ok for shopping in between, else I'll find somewhere to rest and have a light lunch.
The roads look pretty clear. Our county schools are opening 2 hours late this morning. The snow i s pretty, and our yard is full of birds coming for seed. They are beautiful.
Wishing all a great day. β˜•πŸŒ₯οΈβ„οΈβ˜ƒοΈπŸŒ¬οΈπŸ·πŸ•ŠοΈ

Ed, chilly for you! Good you got your laundry folded. πŸ˜‰ Always nice to get your teeth cleaned, feels so good. Glad you didn't get that snowstorm.

    Good afternoon;
It is currently26F and very windy. We had a few snow showers this morning.
I am feeling a lot better than last week, but am still coughing and my head is all stuffed up.
I have now passed it on to Charlie.
I have not been doing much of anything besides going to work.
Irene-I hope you get some answers soon from your tests and hope George feels better soon.
Vix-I hope your knee feels better soon. I had some chicken soup in the freezer that I have been
eating. I don't have much of an appetite and I have no sense of taste or smell.
Ed-Glad you got the laundry done and good luck at the dentist.
    Have a good day! :)

    Thursday afternoon update.

Everything looked good at the dentist and the blood work from the doctor visit on Tuesday looked good as well.

Tomorrow (Friday) the snow is supposed to hit here in our area. It is expected to be a really nasty day.

I haven't checked but feel sure that the schools are probably already scheduled to be closed.

Back in the day that would have meant a snow day to play and make snowmen, but now I guess it'll probably be a "learn from home" day. By the time the school day is over, the snow is expected to have changed to freezing rain and you can't play outside in that.

I plan to go nowhere tomorrow. I picked up a few more groceries on the way home from the dentist. Well, it wasn't really on the way home, but I made it be on the way home. LOL.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday!

We have -2 (C - feels like -3) cloudy degrees with snow showers. Looks like we already have nearly an inch and it's coming down! The expected high was originally 0 but that has been revised to -1 so we're not expecting to be above freezing today at all. 100% chance of precipitation.

I haven't checked but feel sure that all area schools will be closed, because this is the Atlanta metro area and snow like this is a rare and wonderful event that the populace does not know how to drive on at all.

It should be a wonderful day to stay indoors and enjoy the beautiful snow through the windows.

Jo, that sounds like a bad cold, did you check for Covid? I hope you and Charlie are feeling better soon. There are some nasty viruses out there. Try to get plenty of rest.
Irene, hope you and George are feeling better.
Ed, glad the dentist and blood tests went well. Good that you picked up groceries. We usually get some snow in Md, but a lot of people don't know how to drive in it, so it's safer to stay home. Our snow will be on the ground for a while because of the cold temps, but you're right, it's pretty to look at through the windows. Our birds are enjoying their feeders, and look beautiful against the snowy background.
It's currently 18F, -8C, sun is peeking through. Partly cloudy this morning, then becoming cloudy during the afternoon. High 33F, 1C. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
I need to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy and will probably return a book to the library on the way. My massage yesterday really helped. My knee feels a bit better. Yay!

I foiled some glass pieces for my new project yesterday. I still have a lot of pieces to cut out. A friend was telling me about all the juncos in her yard, and explained to me what they look like. A lot of our little birds are juncos! They're very cute.
It snowed a few inches overnight, so everything is freshly white again.
It's currently 24F, -4C. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 34F, 1C. Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph.
Will see what the day brings. Wishing all a wonderful weekend. Stay warm. β˜•πŸŒ₯οΈβ„οΈβ˜ƒοΈπŸ·πŸ•ŠοΈ

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!

We have 0 (C - feels like -4) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 2 and 7% chance of precipitation.

Yesterday's snow was really pretty until the freezing rain and drizzle started, and then it didn't look so pristine. We had a few power blinks during the evening, the last (to my knowledge anyway) just a few minutes before midnight, as I was about to crawl under the covers. The power was never off for more than a minute or two.

There is still an advisory for this morning to watch out for icy patches as the snow and ice on the roads is very uneven but should hopefully thaw and dry out during the warmer part of the day this afternoon.

I haven't even brushed the snow off our cars. We don't need to go anywhere.

I had some chili and cheese chimichangas for my supper and Jason had some mi goreng noodles with scrambled egg, trying out the new portable induction hot plate that I bought for us with a some of my bonus money.

The directions for the induction hot plate were a little confusing and even contradictory on one thing, but we managed a successful test and it only took about 30 seconds for his eggs to be cooked in the flat-bottomed carbon steel wok that I bought for him long ago when he wanted me to teach him how to make fried rice.

The dishwasher is running, and other than getting dishes clean and put away, nothing critical on the agenda.

    Good morning;
Currently 22F with a high of 35F. We had slight snow most of yesterday, but only about an inch or
    2. It is supposed to warm up the next few days, so I suspect the snow won't last long.
Irene-I am glad your test were good.
Ed-Good news on the dentist and blood work.
Vix-we have a lot of Junco's, tufted titmouse, sparrows, morning doves, blue jays and occasionally woodpeckers and cardinals.
We are both starting to feel better, I have my sense of taste and smell back. I did take a Covid test
    and it was negative.
Today is laundry and whatever else the day brings.
    Have a relaxing Sunday! :)

Irene, glad your tests came back with no problems. Good luck with the MRA.
Ed, ice is the worst for getting around outside. It looks pretty on the trees and in the garden. We usually get a lot of it around here, was just snow this time. We do have some icy patches because of the melting and freezing. Pete slipped yesterday and did some unexpected gymnastics. πŸ€ΈπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ He's a little sore, but I think he's ok.
Jo, your birds sound about like ours, the cardinals are regulars, and lots of finches too. I'm glad you and Charlie are feeling better and that it wasn't Covid. Glad your senses of taste and smell came back.
    It's currently 28F, -2C. Sunny. High 36F, 2C. Winds light and variable.
We went out for a while yesterday. Pete was looking for new gloves. All the stores seemed to be sold out! (He ordered some online when we got home.) I bought some new hand towels on sale.
It's sunny and calm looking outside. Will see what the day brings.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!

This late in the day, we are at 1 (C) sunny degree with an expected sunny high of 6 and 5% chance of precipitation.

I need to get out for some groceries. Right now the dishwasher is running, and I'm hearing thumps from outside that I think are clumps of ice and snow falling off trees.

Supper last night for Jason was a garden salad with chopped egg added for protein, for me chicken and cornbread dressing.

Ed, we ran the dishwasher last night and I put the dishes away this morning. The dishwasher cycle is really long. Hope you got your grocery shopping done.
I returned some wooden cutting boards I bought on Friday. When I took off the cardboard that was holding them together there were big cracks in the wood underneath the wrapping.
It's totally overcast this morning. Looks like it should snow, but it's not in the forecast.
It's currently 29F, -2C. Partly cloudy. High near 45F, 7C. Warmer! Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Yesterday only got up to the high 30s, but it seemed warm in the sun.
I've not been sleeping well. Will see what today brings. I may try to start exercising again.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!

We have 2 (C) partly cloudy degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 10 and 4% chance of precipitation.

I got the shopping done yesterday, three times! LOL.

First I went to Kroger, but forgot to get bell peppers, so popped back out to Lidl to get that, and the broccoli that I realized I had also forgotten and picked up a few other things that I happened to see while there. Then we went out for a late lunch and from the restaurant made our way to the big Farmers Market, picking up some more veggies and some fruit, along with some ready to use fried tofu.

We prepped nearly a peck of Serrano peppers, on sale for only $2.99 for the lot, freezing some slices and making several tubs of slightly chunky Serrano paste, also most in the freezer. We won't need any super spicy peppers for a long time now! We kept one small tub in the refrigerator for more immediate use.

    p7pdkx7qdztt.png
    j03a9jqewc2l.png
Jason also has it in his head to make some home-made refrigerator kimchi. I think he may find it's not as great as he expects, but he bought the napa to get started. Not sure WHEN he'll get started, but it will need to be soon.

These are VERY hot peppers. Five to ten times as hot as jalapenos. A little Serrano will go a long way in any dish.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!

We have -1 (C - feels like -5) sunny degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 9 and 1% chance of precipitation.

Hope your MRI comes out OK, Vix!

For dinner/supper last night Jason made himself a nice stir-fry dish with tofu, bell pepper, onion, cabbage, broccoli, and a nice, spicy sauce that he threw together (including some of the Serrano paste we made on Sunday), served with some Jasmine rice. He has leftovers for lunch today.

I had a big bowl of ramen but only used one packet. I used the Maruchan chicken flavor, adding peas and carrots, dried mushroom dices, a small can of mixed chicken chunks and the water the chicken was packed in, some cabbage and bell pepper from the piles of them that Jason had chopped up, a little added garlic, and some instant minced onion. I simmered the veggies in the broth, with the seasoning packet, then added the noodles and chicken and simmered until the noodles were done to my satisfaction. I added a little black pepper for additional seasoning and in the end had a rather large bowl of delicious chunky, noodly soup!

Breakfast this chilly morning was some nice, spicy biscuits and some home made meat lover's (sausage & bacon) gravy.

Tonight we may run back to the Farmers Market for more kimchi ingredients.

I think our group is fine the way it is. 😊 We've been together a long time.
Ed, your Asian inspired dinners sound delicious. Good luck with your blood test, and your appt next week.
Irene, hope you and George start feeling better soon. Chicken soup, citrus fruit, and plenty of rest.
Jo, glad you and Charlie are starting to feel better. Colds seem to linger. Pete's been waking up with a cough. I take magnesium before bed which usually helps me sleep. I've also been trying magnesium spray on the bottom of my feet before bed. It seems to help, but my feet were getting dry, so stopped that for a while! Anyway, I think somethings just flaring now, and disturbing my sleep patterns.
The MRI was fine yesterday. I had them send copies/reports to my pain Dr and Rheumatologist. Will wait for results.
    It's cold today. Currently 19F,-7C. Plentiful sunshine. High 29F, -2C. Winds10 to 20 mph.
No special plans, maybe a little stretching and possibly some cooking or baking. Will see what the day brings.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have -2 (C) sunny degrees with an expected sunny, fairly warm high of 14 and 2% chance of precipitation. It will be nice to be able to step outside this afternoon and not necessarily need a jacket just to get the mail.

We went back to the farmers market Tuesday to pick up more ingredients for the kimchi Jason plans to make (maybe today) and got some Mexican frying cheese. Supper last night was fried cheese and I made some chili, using a bit of the Serrano paste in the refrigerator.

With the fried cheese, it was a very hearty and filling meal. We finished the evening with mugs of hot chocolate and then I flossed, brushed, rinsed with mouthwash, and got my mouth ready for bed so no further food stuffs, not that I needed anything more.

Work is already in progress on the other computer so back to it.

Another cold day. It's currently 18F, -8C and overcast. Snow showers this morning becoming more scattered later. High 31F, -1C. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 50%.
I am getting back to exercising, doing the stretching and resistance, but skipping the elliptical for now. Knee is not quite right yet.
I baked 3 squashes yesterday. We had the acorn squash for lunch, and I have a spaghetti squash and butternut squash in the fridge for fast easy dinners.
I have some laundry to do and may go to the library, will see how I feel later.
