:) One major concern was lifted yesterday when a staff member of the attorney who wrote our wills called back and set up an appointment for me to come in next week to take the next steps with the will and the community property agreement. I am good at doing what I know how to do but collapse at what I don't until I can find a professional to help me. I know that things take time but they take forever if you don't know what to do and consequently do nothing.

:) Weather is currently not a concern here, but if it snows, I'll cancel anything and everything.

:) Yesterday I went for a 45 minute walk and left Annie at home and she seemed to do well. Each day I give her practice in my leaving and coming back. Right now she is sleeping in front of the wood stove so she probably will be happy not going on a walk.

Happy Thursday! :) I got a good night's sleep and feel good. Today is my meeting and a few errands for my trip. I should be ready to go Saturday morning.

Barbie, one day at a time. You are doing the best you can and that is amazing. I hope everything goes smoothly and you move on without worry. Annie is being a good girl, she can feel your emotions and wants to help. <3

Lin, thank you, I also hope the weather is good, it is too cold for me here. I can't wait for summer.

Jackie, it sounds like brutal weather so stay in and stay warm.

Have a good day my friends.

A bitterly cold day so the snow had frozen solid until around midday when the sun showed itself. It seemed a good idea to clear snow from the garden steps down to the chicken run then I put fresh food out for them, with extra for the wild birds, and cleared ice from their drinker. I’ve kept myself busy with some housework, cooking a large pot of bean casserole and cutting more wood for kindling.

Barbie, what is it they say about going with the flow? It will help, I’m sure, to let others do what is necessary as they will know how and also take care of you.

Heading for warmer climes Sandy. I don’t blame you!

Lin, I love that old teapot! It seems to be a cross between a Toby and Old Bessie pot. 😆

Bedtime! George and Betty just went out for the quickest, coldest late night garden visit.
    Enjoy the rest of Thursday.

Hi, me again. Nothing exciting but feeling unwell and would really like to go lie down but my Subscribe and Save order from Amazon was not delivered as promised this afternoon. Now they say it will be here by 10 pm.

    Not happy!!

I cut a finger today, of course it is my best texting finger!

    Back tomorrow

Happy Friday! :) Laundry has been started then going for a follow up appointment at the back doctor before packing. We will be leaving here around 8am so not sure I will have time to post in the morning.
I will try to keep in touch while gone but if not behave until I get back on Wednesday night.

Lin, I do hope you are feeling better and your finger is not cut to bad. Take a break to take care of yourself.

Jackie, we got some snow during the night, I think about an inch. Just so the roads are good and there is no snow in the morning to delay our trip.

Have a good day and stay healthy.

Sandy, best wishes for a wonderful trip!!

Barbie, good progress with Annie. I was amazed that you are able to leave her in the house and go for a walk. Good job.

Well, I am still sorting things on my new phone. I think all the details will drag on for a long time. I do like the size of the screen on this phone.

    Be well everyone.

Good morning and happy Saturday. Yesterday was exhausting but the good news is I don’t need to return for another skin cancer examination until next year, then the 5 year period of checks will be over so fingers crossed. The hospital is expanding rapidly because of the population explosion that I won’t go into here. Parking was a nightmare so after several slow drives round and round I squeezed onto a space by an entrance that wasn’t meant for cars, then discovered the ticket machines were out of order so I might get a fine in the post! On the way home I stopped for groceries because I was beginning to run out of everything. I can now relax.

Bon voyage Sandy. Have a wonderful visit. I still laugh at England’s inability to cope with an inch of snow. Everything shuts down and when it began a couple of days ago, drivers caused blockages on the main roads so farmers had to use their tractors to pull them off a bit of ice!

Your phone arrived safely Lin! Now the fun begins. 😆. That could be your bookcase with all those murder mysteries!

It is still cold but I will wrap us up and go for a dog walk.

    Take care.

:) A day of adventures. I opened the box with the Roomba that daughter sent and quickly realized that it was too complex for me right now (QR code, download app, set up an account, find the right place to put the charging station, program a route) so I boxed it up to send back to Amazon. Daughter understood when I told her on the phone and confessed that she has an Instant Pot that she's never used because it looks too complicated. I didn't pay careful attention to Annie after our 11 AM walk with a friend and she chewed through one of the straps on her harness so I decided to buy a new one at Petco that was stronger (also planned to get it off her the minute we come back from a walk on leash). As I reached to get the box with the Roomba out of the front seat of the car at the drop off place, Annie saw some birds and managed to get out of the car and run all over in the parking lot. Several people came out to help and we finally corralled her with the help of a few pieces of kibble from my pocket. I bought a new harness at Petco but it was too small so I had to go back out and exchange it for the next size. We took a walk with the new harness and it worked great. I'm going to spray the straps to discourage chewing.

Hello. I spent the day working on the phone and finally called support for assistance and the rep spent more than an hour with me as we worked through all of the options trying to see what was blocking me from their website and wouldn’t allow me into the app on my phone. She finally had to give up, they couldn’t figure it out and referred me to the local Apple Store.

Then I attacked the problem myself and uninstalled an app and that seemed to do the trick. I can get to the website again and opened the app to access my account. Still having mail problems. Will have to address that another day.

Barbie, what a day you had. Yipes!! Well you made it through. Excellent.

Sandy is off on the beach most likely. 👍🏻👍🏻

Jackie, what a busy place that hospital is. Glad you will not have to return often. 👏🏻👏🏻

I spent a few hours on the phone this evening with the lady whose daughter recently passed away. She called me to thank me for the years of cards I have sent to her. She is a paper crafter, both cards and scrapbooking. We talked about various companies and I think we both enjoyed that part of the conversation.

Time to get ready for bed. Take care everyone.

Hello and happy Sunday. It has warmed up enough to walk on the moors so we set off along a trail I knew wouldn’t be too muddy and it was obvious both George and Betty were happy to be able to run free. Lots of other dog walkers making the most and the car park was full when we returned. This afternoon I collected a variety of gardening tools and did some pruning and weeding before coming inside for a cup of tea. Now the sun is disappearing over the horizon so it’s getting cooler, I’m poaching chicken for Betty, with a few pieces for George, before lighting the fire.

That’s the prettiest teapot Lin. I assume the pattern is painted on to clear glass?

Enjoy the day whatever you do and stay safe.

Hello, did some cardio classes, watched church online, worked in solving the email issue on the new phone. And then the lady I talked to last night called this afternoon and she just wanted me know her phone went dead. Fine, but then I couldn’t get away for almost an hour. I will say I almost lost my mind today. I had other things to do and didn’t want to go over the same territory today. My back was killing me.

Jackie, yes, it is a glass teapot painted and with extra trim, very exotic! Glad you got a walk in today. Lucky Betty and George, you take such wonderful care of your fur family. Now you cooked for them, did you cook for yourself?

Hello Barbie, Jeri, Diane, and our friend in a warmer climate—Sandy.

    Take care everyone.

Happy Monday! 😁 It took a while to get my wifi to work but finally did it. We have been having fun. Cloudy yesterday so went into town to do some shopping. I ended up with two dresses, a tshirt with matching baseball hat and tshirts first the kiddos. We sat by pool while sun came out briefly and painted pictures last night. I am not an artist. Today going to the beach to see another area. Hoping the sun stays out today.
    Have a good one!

Hi Sandy. A famous artist, I’m not sure who, said art is not what you see, it’s what you make others see! I see an Eton Mess dessert in a fancy glass! 😆. I hope the sun shines on your trip to the beach.

We have lost our sunshine so a walk on the moors was freezing cold even when wrapped up. I’ve not achieved much else because I have been waiting for a handyman to visit and look at a couple of loose roof tiles. He just messaged to say he can’t get here after all so we must try again tomorrow. I had planned to take some old electrical items to the tip but will load my car early in the morning ready to go after a walk.

Lin, it was leftover bean casserole for me but the good news is Betty’s tummy is beginning to improve again so I will continue to poach chicken until I know she is fully recovered. George gets to enjoy some chicken too, just because I love him! This teapot is interesting but one I’m sure I would knock over in no time, or is it an illusion? What can I say? Those phone calls can drive me mad too! I hope your back pain has eased.

I’ve heard on the radio the moon is about to rise above the horizon and it’s only 4pm. Supposed to be surrounded by beautiful colours but due to our thick clouds I’ll just have to imagine it!

    Enjoy your Monday.

Super cold day here but we did get some sunshine but it didn’t seem to raise the temperature. I crushed boxes this morning and felt like I was going to freeze out in my garage. Gathered up trash, cleaned out some questionable things from the refrigerator, cooked a batch of beans, took a number of classes including a short class on making lentil soup and salad. Waste of time, I didn’t like the recipe.

Organizing supplies for February cards, thinking about making a few Valentines and actually ran across several supplies that might be nice for Easter.

The phone did not ring today. 🙃 Yippee.

Sandy; looks like you are having fun. I think you did a good job on your painting creation. 👍🏻👍🏻

Jackie, glad Betty is feeling better. The moon is beautiful this evening. I saw it as I took out my trash and recycling bins this evening. Too cold to stay outdoors and stare for long! I hope your handyman is able to look at the roof tiles tomorrow.

    Be safe everyone.

Hello, another super cold day. I didn’t go out much. I attended a number of cardio classes, did some laundry, and finished one birthday card. Since it’s Tuesday, I will be attending the regular evening card making class in a little while. It should warm up a bit in the next several days. I called a friend this morning and she was just leaving to attend a class at the Senior Center but had a half dozen errands to accomplish. She wasn’t looking forward to getting in and out of the car over and over. Yep, I get that.

Hope all is well for everyone.

    See you soon.

    Hello Everyone,

Sandy it looks like you are having a great time.

Ed is booking a weeks vacation in Las Vegas as it is our 50th Anniversary. It is at Easter Time but we want to go celebrate it in style. We never do a lot of gambling but we like to go to shows and drive around and take pictures of the beautiful scenery.

I think I mentioned that I had surgery on my hand. It is doing quite well but is still stiff. Doing lots of exercises and scar massaging.

    Have a great Wednesday everyone

Happy Thursday! :) Home safe and sound and it felt great to sleep in my own bed. I am skipping my meeting today as I am tired and needed to order groceries and maybe start the laundry. We had a great time and did lots of activities from going to the beach, catching a fish and playing trivia games at the pool. It was a fun trip and now I have a cruise coming up in May. Life is good.

I hope all are well, Jackie I hope the critters are all well and you are doing what you love best.
Lin I see you are still busy with cards and cardio. You make me tired. lol
Barbie I do hope you are doing okay, it won't be the same without Jake but we go on even with missing them everyday.

Glad to be home and get back into the swing of things again. Luckily I had enough steps every day that I didn't go over my goal weight and am still below that by 2 pounds.

    Have a good day everyone,

Sandy that sounds like a wonderful vacation.

Busy busy here as usual. Ed had blood tests, Costco and then after lunch pick up our granddaughter Heather and drive her to bus depot.

She is almost 20 and is taking a bus up to Edmonton (about 4 hrs away) and then her boyfriend is picking her up there and they are driving back here to Calgary. Heather wanted the time with him as he is going to Mexico for a family vacation and she won’t see him for a week or so. He is taking pilot training up there so she doesn’t see him as often as she wishes. Young love. ❤️❤️❤️

    Have a wonderful day everyone.

I’m sorry I seem to have lost posts between Monday and today. The only significant thing that happened was yesterday taking Betty to the vet because she continues to be unsettled and has lost a lot of weight. She barely managed a short walk in the morning and looked miserable, so I phoned the practice as soon as we got home, then took her late afternoon. She typically brightened up when we walked into reception and greeted everyone but once I went through all that’s gone on with her since Christmas, she was thoroughly examined then blood and poo samples taken to send away. The vet suggested trying her on a special hyper allergenic food so she eat some last night and again today and so far isn’t as gassy as before. Hopefully test results will be back by early next week.
The roofer returned today to replace a couple of tiles and clean out the back gutter. We discussed the gutter being old and rain water not running off into a down pipe as it should and agreed he will send a quote for a replacement in a week or so.
I’ve bumped into David walking Hattie on the moors and he’s doing well although having to be careful because the muddy ground is so uneven. Sheila and I will meet on Saturday and go somewhere for coffee and I also want to visit the farm store to look for new Wellington boots if there is a January sale. Linda still has the cough from the bug she caught Christmas time but we hope to get together next Monday.

Bedtime and I’m ready to snuggle up for the night.
    Take care

Hello. I am struggling with upper back pain again/still. I am going to take some Tylenol and see if so can get some rest. I wake up in the night at 3 or 4 in the morning and am too uncomfortable to get back to sleep. The last several days have been a continual struggle. Not getting as much accomplished but have finished another birthday card and limped through cardio classes.

I am picking up some groceries at Walmart tomorrow. We are having a bit warmer weather but it will be over by the weekend apparently.

    Sandy, welcome home.

Jeri, a trip to Las Vegas sounds exciting. I hope you will enjoy it. Good job on your rehab. Working hard usually pays off. ❤️❤️

Jackie; I am very concerned for Betty. ❤️ Enjoy your get together with Sheila on Saturday and hoping you find a sale on Wellies.

Lots of friends locally are ill, seems like Influenza A coupled with several other bugs. The coughing and feeling under the weather goes on for a few weeks. Eeeck!

There was a show I wanted to watch this evening but I could only get reception on that channel in my living room. Not interested in spending more time there. I am ready to snuggle in some quilts.

    Take care everyone.

:):) Today was my appointment with the lawyer. He explained everything and will take care of the part that seemed most daunting for me. Then I went to the bank to get the account put in my name only. The big milestone was that Annie was OK in the car while I was at the lawyer's office and while I was in the bank. She was a bit crazy when we got home but now she is asleep on the carpet between my chair and Bessie.

Happy Friday! :) Finishing up my laundry but I don't know where this day has gone. I still want to ride my recumbent bike before Cheryl and Cathy pick me up to watch Gary perform at a bowling alley.
Bryanna is coming in from California on January 28 so her mother asked me if I wanted to help with a surprise gathering for her 30th birthday. It will just be around 25 people so not a big party. Trying to organize with her mother is not easy so I am just going with the flow.

Barbie, I hated doing all that stuff but it has to be done. Good girl Annie.

Lin, how is your back? Maybe take a break from cardio for a few days so it can heal. Mine acts up every laundry day, I think because of lifting and bending.

    Jackie, busy as usual.

    Have a great day.

:) Jake's name is off the manufactured home. The title will come in the mail soon. It wasn't as easy as I expected but I persisted and drove to the courthouse and dealt with six different women in two different offices, filled out a paper, and wrote two checks. Annie did well in the car while I was doing all this. I can't change the names on the car without something from the lender but the woman who handles that won't be in the office until next week.

Happy Saturday! It is sunny and 26F today but the next few days are going to be brutal with temps in the single digits and a real feel of minus 11. I am hoping to go to mass today as long as I don't make any other plans. I want to see kids and family but will see which day is best for all of us. I bought them some t shirts in the Bahamas but there is no big hurry as they don't know about them.

Barbie, Babe's attorney handled all of those things for us so I am sorry you have to do this all on your own. Hopefully, Jake had a will and/or trust so there are no problems with his children. You were married for a long time so I am sure your are missing him everyday. Remember to take care of yourself.

John and Laurie got delayed 5 hours from their return in New Zealand so when they arrived in LA they missed their connection and had to spend the night. They finally arrived in St. Louis a short time ago but our zoom called is postponed until tomorrow as I am sure they are exhausted.

    Have a good day.

Here I am, checking in at a sensible time for me rather than when I should be in bed. Not much happened yesterday. I walked locally with George and a not very enthusiastic Betty, then drove to the car wash because our recent awful weather has left a lot of mud on the roads. Farmers are busy transporting feed for their animals so the huge tractor wheels collect muck off their fields and spread it over the tarmac but they don’t clean up afterwards! My car looks respectable again, ready for collecting Sheila this morning for our shopping outing. I bought a pair of comfortable smart wellies with a deep tread and adjustable straps at the top for ease of removing. Expensive but worth it! Sheila also bought herself new wellies and a fleece top to wear under her outdoor coat. We then drove to our favourite clothing outlet since they have a January sale, and this time I purchased a cosy indoor jacket and another knitted jumper, this time with a turtle neck, something that went out of fashion years ago here but ideal for my walks when I can keep my neck warm! Sheila found a cheerful knitted top so, after coffee and a sandwich, we set off for home.
Betty seems happier in herself and although she still passes bright yellow poo, it isn’t as runny and she is less gassy. I bet you really needed to know that bit of information! I have stocked up on more of her new hypoallergenic food that will hopefully have the desired effect but meanwhile, seeing her being cheerful again is a relief. If it isn’t too cold in the morning I will take her with George for one of our moors strolls.

Lin, I’m sorry you are suffering with back pain. Keeping moving is so important but don’t overdo your exercises.

Brrr! Sandy. Minus 11 will be a shock after your recent trip to the Bahamas. Be careful!

Barbie, those wheels continue to churn so one day, hopefully soon, you won’t have any more legalities to deal with. Annie is being an absolute star coping with changes in her life.

Now it is time for bed! 😴
    Stay warm and safe.

Brrrrr. It has been getting colder today, especially in the late afternoon. It will be colder and colder with the worst now expected on Tuesday.

I did some laundry today and struggled through some stretching and exercise. Whatever this back pain is, it is excruciating at times and all I have to do is move and it starts up again. Everything—cooking, cleaning veggies, hanging laundry—it all hurts. I cut a Tylenol in half late morning and it helped a bit but put me to sleep. Time will tell. I hope it goes away soon.

Barbie, what great progress in straightening out all the necessary paperwork. Annie is being tested isn’t she. You have much patience.

Jackie, what a terrific shopping day. Glad you found boots as well as other cold weather clothing. Successfully trip. Also glad Betty is feeling a bit better.

Sandy, sorry John and Laurie had travel delays but glad they are finally home. Take care, we are advised to keep the heat up 24/7, leave cabinet doors open where you have a sink and keep outside doors closed as much as possible. My neighbors were doing something in their garage this afternoon and had the overhead door open all afternoon with the cars out in the driveway. Guess they let in quite a bit or cold air.

    Take care everyone.
