Hello, I haven’t been working too hard today. A few Zoom exercise classes, digging for card making supplies and working on the fronts of Easter cards. I have about half of the fronts completed. Yippee!
Sandy, wow, I am glad you will be getting some rest. Sorry the music last night wasn’t your type of music.Barbie, I am glad you figured out a solution to have lunch with your friend for your birthday. Good thinking.
Jackie, it is nice that you got a walk with Linda but sorry you were frozen by that cold wind.
And I agree, time is flying. Take care everyone.

Happy Sunday!😁 Got some much needed sleep and feel good. We have some snow flurries but I am going to go to 11:30 Mass. I am trying to decide if I want to spend the night at Rob's or just be there by 8am. As you all know I am not a morning person. I am meeting friends for St. Paddy's dinner tomorrow at 3:30 so not sure if I want to bring my dinner clothes and all the other supplies I need to get ready to Rob's. Decisions, decisions.
Lin, you are always busy doing something. I feel so lazy compared to you, Jackie and Barbie.
Barbie, I agree with Lin and glad you figured out a solution to have lunch with your friend.
Jackie, weather is so crazy, I had my A/C on Friday and today I have my heat on.
Have a good day my friend,

Hello and happy Sunday. I didn’t sleep well, mostly due to eating homemade stir fry too late in the evening but got myself up early and took George to the moors. That freezing wind took me by surprise because at home it is sheltered but we set off along a lower path and halfway along bumped into David walking Hattie. After a short chat I decided it was too cold to go further and headed home. I have spent several hours weeding but by 4pm the temperature had dropped so fires were lit and a comforting cup of tea made! After a few days of George not eating he seems to be returning to his old routine so I’m sure it was the loss of Betty that unsettled him.
I contacted Linda to see how she is getting on but it seems she is still struggling with her breathing and low blood pressure so after more blood tests she is booked on Tuesday for x-rays and more tests at the hospital in Plymouth.
That’s a fancy teapot with similar colouring to china we used back in the 50’s. Very nostalgic!
Stay safe and warm everyone. I’m heading for my kitchen to prepare a meal of a concoction of leftovers!

😕 I had a tough day yesterday. I got into the safe to get something I knew was in there that I wanted to send to someone and ended up emptying everything out and going through it all which brought me into contact with a lot of stuff with huge emotional content (documents, cards, jewelry, photos) I sorted everything and put it away in a variety of places because I couldn't leave stuff out on the chance that Annie would get into it. Now I'm exhausted. Today has been a detox day of grocery pickup, a bit of planting, a walk with a friend, and TV and exercise bike.
😀 I had prepared a section outside the fence (safe from Annie) for planting gladiola. I planted and watered one small section. One step at a time.

Good evening. Today was Easter card work but my eyes weren’t working great so there were some cards that look much off kilter. Attended online church and did a number of Zoom cardio classes. Didn’t get anything else on my list done. Need to get up early tomorrow and try to catch up on a few things before my tax appointment.
Barbie, you took on a monumental task with examining everything in the safe. I hope you get some rest and that you recover quickly.
Jackie, freezing wind, yipes! We had below freezing temperatures here today. Friday it was around 77 degrees. What changes! I heard this afternoon that we may be facing some sort of snow storm mid-week. I hope you are sleeping well tonight.
Sandy, pit sounds like lots of packing if you decided to spend the night at Rob’s. Early morning always sounds viable to me the night before but not so much early in the morning.
Take care everyone.

Happy Monday! 😊 Got up early, got the kids feed and off to school. Praying my son does well at his interview and gets the new job he wants. I am staying for a little while so dogs aren't alone too long. Then going home to meet my friends for some corn beef and cabbage, our yearly St. Paddy's Day tradition. I am sure there will be some slot machines after dinner.
Lin, thank you for the card, you are always so thoughtful. I do not have an account with them so sorry I can't recipocate. We had the snow yesterday, it started in the morning and quit by evening. Today near 60. And some people do not believe in Global Warming. SMH
Barbie, you will have days like that often, it has been two years since I lost Babe and still have bad days. When you love someone the hurt of not seeing them doesn't get better but we learn to live with it somewhat. Just take care of yourself.
Jackie, hope you are well in England.
Have a good day,

Good evening. Well, the tax appointment is over. Checks will be written…..😓
At least now the uncertainty is over. And everything else is still putting along. Still working on Easter cards. The light is good in the morning so fewer wonky placements. Afternoon and evening are not good times for careful alignment. Will be back to it tomorrow. Also need to do some laundry. Got the trash out this evening.
We are under fire warnings every day due to a combo of dry conditions and wind. The snow remains in the forecast.
I hope everyone had a good day.
See ya tomorrow.

Happy Monday. Looks like yesterday’s post didn’t arrive! Today I have taken my car to the garage for its service and ABS repair. I was going to catch a bus back home but realised by the time it picked me up I could have walked so set off up and down the hilly roads, only stopping to talk to a lady with her newly adopted dog whose owner had become too unwell to look after him. A mini George and full of life! I can tell I’m fitter than a few years ago when that walk would exhaust me so the daily strolls on the moors must be doing me some good. Hopefully the garage will let me know I can collect my car by mid afternoon because I would prefer to catch the bus in that direction and by late afternoon it will be full of rowdy school children! It is a beautiful day and that awful wind has finally calmed down so I can spend time outside. George stayed home while I was dropping the car off so I will take him round the block first.
Take care everyone. My disjointed day is unsettling, which is probably an age thing, but I must get on and get jobs done.

Happy Tuesday! 😁 Our St. Paddy's Day dinner was okay, we weren't thrilled with the corn beef. I like it best when cooked at home but it has been years since I made it. Two of us went to play some slots machines but neither of us won. Today is a rest day before my trial appointment tomorrow, meeting on Thursday and dental cleaning on Friday.
Jackie, that sounds like a long walk from the car place to your house. How many miles did you walk? I do hope you were able to catch the bus to pick up your car.
Lin, I am still waiting to see if I have to pay any taxes and how much I have to pay the accountant. Next year I may use my daughter as she does accounting for other people.
Barbie, I hope today is a better day and each one gets a little easier.
Going to be near 70 today so who knows maybe I will sit on my balcony. Enjoy your day.

Good evening
I need to keep this short, Tuesday night and my usual Live presentation.I had a busy day. Finally started on my laundry, cleaned and baked sweet potatoes, started to cut additional greetings for Easter cards. Unfortunately the due stopped cutting well. Each piece is difficult to cut with only potion of the die cutting through the card stock. That turns a quick job into a long frustrating job.
I will prevail!
Tomorrow strong winds and some sort of precipitation. 55 - 60 mph winds. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 hang on roof shingles.Sandy, I hope you had a good afternoon. A friend posted a photo, she went for an afternoon walk.
Jackie, impressive walking my friend. Well done. I hope the timing for your car pickup worked out as you hoped.
Barbie, I hope you have had a good day. Hello to Annie.
Take care everyone.

😀 My tax refund was deposited in my bank account yesterday. My accountant said that she'd let me know what changes I should make in withholding for 2025 to accommodate the change in my filing status. Next year I'll be the one holding my breath waiting to see if I have to pay anything.
😀 Mailed back the paper required to put the car loan in my name only. Still no call from Social Security. I'll call them again at the end of the month. My community has a small office and a huge concentration of retirees.
😀 The weather was mild enough again so I could plant more gladiola bulbs. There are still more to do today.

Happy Wednesday! 😊 Trial appointment today which means too much time waiting around. I know I might be helping other people with this trial but it just seems like such a long time. I would like my summer to be free with no appointments. Sorry if I sound cranky.
Barbie, have you tried making an online account with Social Security? I find I get all my answers there. Have you not started getting Jake's social security yet? With the closing of many social security offices it is going to be impossible to make an appointment.
Not much time so have a good day.

Hello. Miserable day with freezing winds, cold temperatures and some kind of sleety precipitation. Tomorrow is suppose to bring better weather so a happy First Day of Spring is expected.
My old Apple Watch stopped charging. So I spent quite a bit of time looking online for various models and comparing pricing. I found one that could be delivered by early afternoon and there was a discount. Yep, I got it. And it is set up now.Barbie, getting appointments with Social Security is a very difficult thing these days. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Wishing you well.
Sandy, the trial will be finished this year and you will get more time back in your schedule. ❤️❤️
Didn’t have time to work on cards today. Did get towels laundered and cooked some beans in between cardio classes.Maybe tomorrow??
I only slept about 4 hours last night and I am tired. Going to bed early this evening.Be safe.

GM. Terrible day yesterday. Took blood from one arm, put dye in the other arm, doctor took liquid from my eye with a needle which didn’t hurt until after. Two different tests with bright lights for my eyes which had tears running down my face. I told them I was ready to quit but there are only two more scheduled appointments one in June and one in September. I think he would have had me come back in two weeks for a non scheduled appointment if I didn’t say that. I still have a little inflammation in my eye that he likes to check but he agreed to wait if I use my eye drops twice a day. At lease my eyesight is a little better. I am not going to meeting and just staying in today and resting.
Lin, good for you on finding a good deal on an Apple watch, I am too cheap to buy one. I will stick with my Fitbit.
Jackie, posting problems are a pain in the neck.
Have a good day,

Hello, I’m back. I will try again before bedtime! Cutting a very long story short, Linda asked if I could drive her to the hospital for an emergency CT scan yesterday after another visit Tuesday for x-rays didn’t show up what was causing her to cough up blood and doctors were obviously concerned. Her son had driven her to that appointment but is in the midst of changing jobs so couldn’t take another day off. Major construction work around the hospital building is creating chaos because parking places are few and routes have been altered so it was impossible to get Linda near the main entrance. I got as close as I could and suggested she walk, which wasn’t easy for her because breathing is difficult. I drove out of the area to find somewhere to park and waited for her to phone me to let me know she had finished. At least I used the time wisely installing a new dashcam! It was a nightmare finally driving back to pick her up because she told me she had been taken to a mobile scanner outside the building in the middle of a construction site and it was impossible to see anything other than row upon row of hoarding. At one point I was stopped and told I was going the wrong way in a bus lane, not that there were any signs, so you can imagine my frustration. Lots of security guards but few speaking English so it took some time to reach Linda, then we had to find a way out of the chaos. The first thing we did was look for a coffee shop because it was late afternoon and we both needed a cup of tea…. Typical English! Linda also needed some groceries because it was her first opportunity to shop since becoming so unwell weeks ago and that meant not getting home until evening. That was the first time I had left George on his own for hours since losing Betty so he was stressed and I was exhausted!
Today I walked George on the moors in warm sunshine then spent my day at home in my garden pruning, weeding, giving the lawns their first cut of the year and finishing with a bonfire to burn branches cut from a Buddleia. All of it just in time because we are expecting bad weather from Spain to reach us overnight. Bernie my brother has been experiencing unusually wet conditions for some time so I know what to expect!
Sandy, you are so brave to put yourself forward for those eye experiments, which is what they sound like to me. I’m sure I would be feeling exactly like you and want to stop but if you do, would that mean they can’t use your results?
Lin, I hope you got a decent night’s sleep. Enjoy your Apple Watch. I haven’t gone down that route yet. That reminds me, all that walking to and from the garage on Tuesday only amounted to about 4 miles but the hills were good for some cardio exercise!
Midnight so I’m off to bed. Take care.
Jackie 🥰

Hello friends—
My gosh Jackie, what a day. I am so sorry your day with Linda was so trying. You are a great friend. Today sounds much better I hope you are getting a good night’s sleep. And I hope the bad weather tomorrow isn’t too bad 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Sandy, I am so sorry that your eye appointment was so painful. What a misery. I can understand your hesitation about going back. ❤️❤️
I did Zoom classes today, worked on cards, attended a live online class around lunchtime. I spoke with a friend for a while this afternoon. She was telling me about her new doctor.
Be safe my friends

Happy Friday! 😊 All better today, so laundry is started. I have a dental cleaning at 1:00 and after going to visit my friend who lives near by. We will go to an early dinner with her daughter so I don't get home too late. I would also like to stop at my jewelry store to ask about a piece of jewelry I want for my son. He is missing Babe and since Babe was Italian he wore an Italian Horn for good luck when he was healthy. Marisa has the horn so I would like to buy him one in memory of Babe and of course of me. He wants white gold which is a little hard to find but my jeweler said they could dip a gold one to make it white gold. Not sure if I like that idea but would like to hear if it is worth the money.
Lin, love the tea set with the flowers. You must be feeling better if you managed to do all that you did.
Jackie, what a day you had. I hate traffic and construction so I feel your pain. I am surprised they didn't put Linda in the hospital if she is coughing up blood. Sounds very serious. Glad to hear George is such a good boy.
Enjoy your Friday,
Sandy One Day at a Time

A quiet Friday for me. We didn’t get the predicted heavy rain so George and I walked locally before spending the rest of the day at home. My little hen Stormy is laying again so she must think it’s Spring!
Pretty flowers and tea set Lin.
Sandy, these days in Britain people don’t go into hospital unless on their last legs! Linda’s GP is keeping a good eye on her and it was his idea to arrange the initial x-ray. She told me she feels strong antibiotics are improving her condition so hopefully no more than a nasty chest infection.
Apart from a video catch up with my brother tomorrow afternoon, nothing planned so if it is a dry day I will continue to prune shrubs.
Take care
Jackie 🥰

Hello. A day with more Zoom classes. Also made a couple of simple cards. I am enjoying the easier and simple cards right now. I have gotten some envelopes out and will start addressing them to send Easter cards which are not so simple!
I spoke with the bank that is taking my little Roth IRA transfer. The check should get to them from the current bank in 7 to10 days according to an email I received last night. I was very sorry to hear that her retirement date has been moved up a month so she will leave on May 1st. I will miss her.
Sandy, I hope you are having a good time this evening. Did you get to the jewelry store?
Jackie, I didn’t hear the weather today, is everything okay? Or did you receive a lot of rain. I am curious did they actually shutdown the NHS? What does that do to your health care availability?Be safe everyone.

😀 I'm taking a break from doing anything that has an emotional component and enjoying my unscheduled time. Annie and I sit on the couch a lot. I got a book from the library about Svalbard and have been watching YouTube videos made by the woman who wrote the book. It puts everyone's weather in an interesting perspective.
😁 I found the direction books for the battery powered yard equipment (mower, trimmer, leaf blower). Now I can read about them in preparation for dry weather when I can use them. The back yard needs to be mowed but it hasn't gotten dry enough to mow. The driveway and sidewalk need to be blown off but they are too wet, too.
😀 Annie likes chasing a ball. I found a brand that's so tough that she can't destroy it. Over the last year I've bought several two packs of them but they seem to disappear. i like to have several on the couch and on the table so I can throw them. Also throwing the ball helps keep her occupied when I'm dancing. I hadn't been able to figure out how they kept disappearing. Yesterday I used the second bathroom and discovered four balls in the tub, then late found two balls under the guest bed. i have two more balls coming in the next order from Chewy.
😀 I saw a picture of myself with short hair and thought it looked cute and wondered if I should get my hair cut. Then I thought about how it would need a professional cut regularly and decided that I didn't want to spend the time or money. And if I didn't like it, it would take it years to grow long enough to tie up again.

Happy Saturday! 😊 Had a nice time yesterday after my teeth were cleaned, went to visit with my friend at her daughter's house before we went to dinner. Her daughter has two dogs who loved me. They said the dogs don't usually warm up to people as fast as they did to me. That's because they knew I was a dog lover. I did go to the jeweler first and did buy the Italian horn for my son. I bought a gold one and the jeweler dipped in rhodium to make it white gold. It is beautiful so I hope my son likes it. It will be a special memory of me and Babe.
Barbie, taking a break is a good idea. You made me laugh with Annie's balls. Did she drop them in the tub?Good luck with the yard equipment, please be careful.
Lin, I am presuming you meant the lady at the bank who is retiring correct? Sometimes simple cards are the best cards.
Jackie, health care all around is becoming difficult. I am glad you have a day or two to relax and work in your garden. You are such a good friend to take all to their doctor's appointments or hospital. Enjoy your call with your brother.
Have some paper work to scan to send to the attorney. Have a good day.

Good afternoon
Zoom cardio classes this morning, addressed envelopes this afternoon. Did some stamping for the April birthday cards and did some online shopping. Will be picking up some groceries tomorrow morning.Barbie, unscheduled time is wonderful. Good idea indeed. Annie is quite the expert at hiding her toy balls. What a character. It is good of you to keep her supplied! I hope the instruction booklets are simple and everything you need is functional. And I agree with you. I grew my hair out so I could keep in a ponytail or a clip and I do not want to switch back to short hair and a haircut every few weeks. Right now, I just gather it up once in a while and cut a couple of inches off the bottom.
Sandy, I am glad you had a nice day. Wonderful! And yes, I was talking about the lady (some kind of district manager). We have always gotten along well. She has also taken very good care of me and helped to maximize my earnings. So several reasons I will miss her.I hope everyone is well. Happy Spring!!

Happy Sunday. Yesterday was busy, including taking time to give George some attention trimming around his face, especially his eyes. It grows so quickly and flops so he can’t see properly. When first adopted he wouldn’t let me close with the scissors, possibly because he was tormented by children in his first home, but I talk quietly to him and give lots of kisses on the top of his head! He looks so much better and I know feels the same. My WhatsApp call with my brother ended up 3 hours long but we had lots of catching up to do!
Our walk on the moors this morning was in freezing fog that was especially unpleasant because there was also a strong cold wind so we didn’t go far. I bumped into David with Hattie who seems to have created a list of things he wants me to help with. The first is a trip to the hospital that is a separate medical issue to his hip replacement but I’ve explained how impossible it is to get near with all the construction work. He has also given himself a problem after instructing his phone and broadband supplier to cancel his contract when he became cross about their poor customer service! Not sure how I can help but have agreed to visit him Wednesday morning and maybe take a pill that gives me some patience!!
Linda, I try to avoid political opinions I might hold but when it comes to our failing NHS, it still exists in name but I put it down to mass immigration that has overwhelmed it. They are prioritised while the rest of us have to get in line! Nothing more to say as I’m sure you’ll understand!! Love the Ladybird teapot. What fun!A gorgeous photo of Annie Barbie. ❤️
you’re right Sandy, dogs always recognise a human friend! It is Sheila’s birthday so I stopped on the way home to deliver a card and invite her out tomorrow for coffee. She was talking on her phone to her daughter so I didn’t stay and anyway George was muddy and needed to be placed in his baby bath to soak his paws and wash his tummy.
I’ve just lost a filling while eating toast with my coffee so that’s another appointment to make! Now going to make a chicken casserole to use up frozen breasts I had bought for Betty. The fog has lifted and the sun is shining so my second plan is to wash the glass on my greenhouse as it is looking grubby!Stay safe and enjoy your Sunday.

🍗 When we bought our Thanksgiving turkey, Jake wanted to order a second turkey to have in March. Yesterday I took the turkey out of the freezer to defrost. I'll roast it in a few days when it has defrosted. I'll eat some of it immediately and package the white meat in single serving packets to eat with salad or veggies over the next few months and use the bones and dark meat to make soup that I can freeze in single serving containers for later. My fondness for repetition will serve me well in eating the turkey.
🍅 Today is grocery pickup day followed by a walk with my friend. It has been drizzling so probably won't work in the yard. Perhaps I can gather the motivation to vacuum or change the sheets—both are challenging with Annie helping me. They take longer than usual with her in the middle of everything.
😀 I've taken the first step on learning to use the battery powered mower and blower. I got the direction books out of the file cabinet and put them on the table where I can see them.
😀 I need to eat as soon as I get up. Unfortunately, I have two dogs who need to go out and "do business" and then come in and have their breakfast. Annie got used to Jake being on the couch after she had breakfast so she wants me to sit on the couch with her and throw the ball for awhile. It is generally 30-45 minutes after I get up before I have breakfast which is too long for me.

Happy Sunday! 😊 Cheryl took me to dinner for my never ending birthday. She also bought me a Survivor game since we watch it as well as Marisa and have the old game. She also bought me a jacket that I hope makes you laugh. I just hope the link works.
Her sister in law's two sisters had one for a concert we went to and made me laugh. I am not sure where I will wear it but I will find a place, maybe at the casino when I win. Staying home today and eating left overs from my dinner last night.
Barbie, I am confused, but it might have been a typo, but don't you only have Annie? Sounds like you will have food to eat for a long time, good for you. I am the opposite of you, I can't eat when I first get up and probably wait two hours. Sorry about the rain but enjoy your day. Great picture of Annie, she is a beauty.
Jackie, oh my, more care for David, he really relies on you for help. Enjoy your time with Sheila tomorrow, I am sure she also appreciates your friendship. I hope you are not in pain with your tooth and can get it fixed soon.
Lin, back to keeping busy with cardio, cards etc. So your lady from the bank was kind of your financial guide. I am sure she will be missed. I would love to wear my hair long and be able to tie it up but I don't have the patience. I am stuck going for color and haircuts but I do try to space them out for as long as I can.
Have a Sunday Funday.

😀 Sandy I have two dogs. Bessie is the rescue mixed breed dog we got in 2017 after Brandy died. She is sweet and no problem so there are no stories to tell about her.
😀 Highlights of my day—-vacuumed, changed sheets on my bed and pillowcases on dog bed, did a load of laundry, learned how to charge the batteries for the battery powered yard tools, Annie chewed on a tv remote making it necessary to throw it away and get out one of my two extras.

I am having problems trying to post today. Everything is jumping about so although you all posted lovely messages, I will be brief.
Picked up my groceries, attended online church, did Zoom cardio classes, worked on a couple of cards and hunted for some stamps that could be used for a spring gardening card.
Over the last few days I also streamed Wicked, the last few episodes of Yellowstone, tried the new Nosferatu (sp). Ick! I found several old movies which I enjoyed. Three Amigos, and the Coneheads.
I am easily entertained. 😁
