Hi!
Jackie, what a truly odd day you had. I hope tomorrow is much better. Having bizarre neighbors must be quite frazzling.
Sandy, another busy day for you and I hope you got all of your errands finished.
Today was a day of Zoom classes, a bit of laundry, straightening out the final bit of my homeowners policy. My agent’s office was quite helpful today. Ordered a few groceries. And two long phone calls with friends. One is suffering with health problems and most recently had an apparently botched eye injection. After describing everything in detail she said she had to go but would call me when she feels better. Right now she cannot read, watch televisions, cook, or drive of course. Poor dear.
The second call was a friend calling to inform me that a very good friend of hers and a lady I knew and liked passed away yesterday. She was quite broken up and was trying to continue talking while trying to cry quietly. It was a long phone call with lots of stories about working with this lady, and many things a group of them had done together over the years. I hope reliving many of these stories helped her feel better.
Barbie, hello. Are you working on gardening projects too? Watered my grass seed again today and am thinking of planting some lettuce seed soon. (I get excited about the littlest things.)
Nothing else to talk about tonight. Be safe my friends.Lin 🙋🏼♀️

😀 Jackie, great video.
😀 Sandy, glad your package arrived.
😀 Lin, you are endlessly creative.
🌞😃 Went to the doctor yesterday for review of annual blood tests and to renew prescriptions. All looked good but she was concerned that I'd lost 7 pounds since last year. I was delighted when I got off the scale when I saw my weight. I assured her that it was because I was eating better and wasn't try to lose weight. It just shows what a few months of no ice cream, cookies, sauces, gravy, chips, or restaurant meals can do 😀🌞 They also gave me my Covid booster so I don't have to make a separate trip to the pharmacy 😀 Annie did well in the car for 70 minutes (her longest wait so far).🐾 I thought she would lick my face off when I got back in the car.
😥 I woke up in the middle of the night with a lot of muscle pain. I didn't know why because I'd had a fairly sedentary day then I remembered that one of the side effects of the Covid shot was muscle pain so I took some acetaminophen and felt better.

- Happy Friday! Laundry day. Going to Cheryl's brother's surprise 70th birthday tonight. Hoping it won't be a late night. Being very lazy today and still have to wrap the present and exercise so I better get moving.
Barbie, congratulations on the weight loss, always a pleasant surprise when you go to the doctor. I think I am caught up on my Covid shots, has there been a new one recently? Glad Annie is such a good dog in the car while she waits. You have that automatic cooler correct??
Lin, got all my errands done because I didn't want to have to do them today or tomorrow. The kids are coming to spend the night tomorrow so they will go to Church with me and then have a movie night. I need to get something for dinner for them and treats for the movies besides milk for their cereal on Sunday. I don't drink milk as I try to stay away from dairy.
Jackie, strange day indeed. Glad to hear the screaming and yelling didn't amount to any violence. Speaking of cards I couldn't find 70 year old birthday card so I bought a 30 year old and 40 year old card to be funny. I hope he thinks the same way I do.
Have a good day gotta run. Don't know why I have a bullet on my first paragraph. This new format is driving me crazy.

Hello….!
Barbie, that is such good news—excellent results on your blood tests and you gave up so many foods with a good result. You must be proud of Annie. Seventy minutes is a long wait. Good girl! A good day!
Sandy, I hope the surprise birthday party is a great success. Enjoy the kids tomorrow. Happy treat shopping.
Jackie, I hope you had a more normal day today.
My day was a usual one I guess. Drove to the post office quite early today and yes, the Easter cards are finally in the mail. Time to start May birthday cards. 👀 I did complete a number of Zoom classes. Fun. Our governor announced she is not going to run for re-election. Big surprise to most people. And it stirred up some conversation. I called a friend this afternoon. We had a very long conversation about lots of topics. One thing she said she couldn’t find is Bufferin. I was surprised, not because I purchase them but because I was raised on them and just never imagined they were no longer available. After we hung up, I did a bit of hunting and found three places where you can order them and sent her one link for ordering. It is so nice to have friends to talk to. She says she hopes to get through a year without getting Covid and is not sure she wants to get together with people this summer. She has been quite ill each time she got Covid so I understand that.
Take care.

Happy Saturday! Party was a success, birthday boy was surprised. Running to jeweler after our family zoom call to pick up a repair. Later the kids are coming to have a sleepover after Church. It is a nice sunny day with temps in the 60's.
That's all the news I have today but a busy week coming up with my son and his wife coming Monday -Thursday. Lots of activities planned. Enjoy your Saturday.

Happy Saturday. Yesterday I kept very busy getting as many outdoor jobs done as possible before any rain arrives. All was quiet at the neighbour’s home so it was definitely a more quiet day. Because it was hot and sunny I thought it a good opportunity to shower and shampoo George. We had trekked across the moor with another dog walker and her Jack Russell Digby and on the way back to the car George had got off the track into a muddy area to look at newly born twin lambs, hidden away with their mum. He’s just curious and didn’t scare them. After he was washed he did zoomies round the garden drying himself then, after all the excitement he slept in the sun the rest of the day while I planted a few new perennials In the beds then finished in the evening burning the hedge trimmings in the incinerator.
I’ve stayed home today apart from walking with George round the block. The rain arrived at lunchtime and the temperature dropped considerably so I’m back to wearing layers!
I’m watching an interesting documentary about Simon and Garfunkel’s music in the 60’s. Brings back memories of constantly hearing Bridge Over Troubled Waters in pubs, clubs and shops. I’ve still got the album in my collection!
Take care
Jackie 🥰

😀 I am treating myself to a few minutes at the computer. The dogs are asleep. We slept late this morning. We usually get up just before 5 and this morning when I opened my eyes I could see light outside because it was 6:20. After a quick dog walk, I ate my regular breakfast (chocolate Isagenix shake—-20 grams of protein and lot of other nutrients and chocolate for fun) and did all my regular morning chores which included sitting on the couch with Annie and throwing the ball while watching YouTube. We finally headed out for our morning walk at 8:15. On the part of the walk when I go out alone, Annie grabbed my napkin off the table and chewed on the napkin ring. Later Annie and I went to the library. It was a short wait in the car and a long scenic drive home. it was the Tesla that had the function that kept the car at the right temperature for the dog, I miss that.
😀 This is a slightly political comment but I wanted to share it. When we traded the Tesla in for the Toyota that I have now, I was thrilled because the Tesla could be serviced only in special shops hours away. Jake said that he wanted to get rid of it because of Elon Musk. I didn't care what his reasons were, I just wanted a car that could be serviced nearby. Today at the library there was a red Tesla that looked a lot like ours with a sign in the window that said "I bought this Tesla before I knew that Elon Musk was crazy". Jake would have loved that.
😀 After years of telling others to not let the numbers on the scale be a big influence, I find myself thinking about eating ice cream since the doctor was concerned that I'd lost too much weight. Most of the junk food I gave up was stuff that used to eat with Jake so it's not a big loss, but I love ice cream, especially chocolate.

Hello
Dull me again. A day with a bit of laundry, watering the grass seed, Zoom classes, after getting my mail I talked to my neighbor for quite a while. They are heading out soon for their first camping trip of the year. They have lots of trips planned for this first full summer with both of them retired. The new neighbors moved in today, the prior neighbors left last evening. No down time there. None of us seem to know where the old neighbors went. 🙃
Barbie, happy trip to the library. Being political here, I am glad you got rid of that car. In addition to the servicing issues, it is difficult to negotiate the hot button issues out there. I am glad you aren’t a target of angry people. ❤️
Jackie, I am glad the neighbors are quiet now. George does like to get dirty. 😁 Glad you got him bathed. I envy his nap in the sunshine. I liked Simon and Garfunkel. Well, I like music in general. This morning one of my classes used a 30 minute Prince cover play list. That jazzed up the movements. Had to do a bit of singing along.Sandy, what movies are you watching tonight?
Cannot believe it is Palm Sunday tomorrow. Seems too soon.Be safe everyone.

Happy Sunday! Went to Church with the kiddos but forgot it was Palm Sunday and a very long gospel. Lots of fidgeting from one of them. Came home had pizza and lots of treats while watching "The Mitchells vs. the Machines." Cute animated movie which kids loved. One woke up around 6am and the other two after 8. Dad picked them up at 10 for a karate lesson and I am already thinking of a nap. I am a light sleeper so any noise they made woke me up to check on them. The oldest one was up to 12:30 because he couldn't fall asleep he said. Charlie sleeps with me and she is either snoring or kicking me. lol I still enjoy having them and they seem to love it here.
Lin, you are never boring with all that you do. Just the zoom classes alone make me jealous but I am afraid to try them. I stick with my bike for the sake of my back.
Barbie, glad to hear you slept in a little for a change. I remember when you and Jake started with those Isagenix shakes many years ago. I am glad you got rid of your Tesla also because I can't stand Musk and also because having a mechanic near by is much easier. Indulge, enjoy some ice cream it doesn't hurt once in a while. I love ice cream as well but staying away from dairy for issues. Annie must have been angry you left her to walk by yourself.
Jackie, sounds like you had a nice quiet day with warm weather and a happy dog. I am glad George was only looking at the lambs and was a good boy.
Have a nice Sunday Funday.

Hello, a short note from me. I was out watering the grass seed and I ran into something I must be allergic too. I suddenly have a rash on my hand, it s making me crazy and is getting larger. I am off to try to find some Benadryl cream.
Church, Zoom meetings, and some card work this afternoon. That’s about it.
Be safe my friends.

😀 Annie wants me with her all the time. She likes it best for us to be in the house with me on the couch or in the back yard in warm and sunny weather. If I go for a walk by myself she looks for entertainment which is often getting past the velcro closure to get into the kitchen garbage or to pull something off the table or counter. Yesterday we had sunny weather. Annie and I walked with a friend after lunch they worked in the yard. Annie dug holes in the dirt and sunbathed on the patio and I pulled weeds.
😀 I enjoy choosing what to watch on TV without having to consider anyone else. I'm watching Vera, Castle, Sherlock, Death in Paradise, and Bosch Legacy. When I'm not watching, I'm listening to Clancy Brothers, Ian and Sylvia, Chad Mitchell Trio, The Limelighters , John Denver, Peter Paul and Mary, Simon and Garfunkel and some older Broadway shows.
😀 I am happy with my Toyota, but I miss some of the features of the Tesla. It's like coming home from a vacation and being glad to be home but missing some of the treats of the vacation.
😁 I bought a pint of Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk Chocolate ice cream and enjoyed the small serving I had yesterday saving more for today.

Yesterday I spent far too much time trying every trick to get my new router to connect with the Smart tv. Back and forth, switch on, switch off, chat to the App and I must have typed the router password in the tv settings 10 times! Suddenly it worked, although the connection is quite fragile, but having also called my landline with my iPhone and listened to a recorded message of “no such number”, I assume it was cut off by the engineer that visited to connect the broadband. It was a free service so I can’t complain!
It has turned cold and breezy again and also raining on and off so George had a short walk round the block before I drove into town for a pedicure, mail the old router back to its supplier and buy a few groceries. I’ve been trying to contact my dentist because I dislodged a filling but a recorded message tells me they are too busy and to try later. I’ve probably mentioned before our NHS is broken and unfortunately services like private dentistry have been bought out by finance investment companies on behalf of multi billionaires looking to make even more money. Vet practitioners the same so we ordinary folk have to foot the bill.
Time to do some hoovering and brush George’s coat. His groomer is booked Wednesday but with it turning cold again, I’m not sure how much he should have removed.Barbie, Betty behaved like your Annie when left alone and I still find myself anticipating mess in the kitchen when I return from an outing. George complains loudly when he hears me locking the door on my way out but is never destructive, thank goodness.
Lin, I hope that rash didn’t spread too far. I tend to wear gardening gloves for the smallest job these days! I know you enjoy All Creatures Great and Small but did you ever watch the original 1980’s series? The BBC have been repeating episodes and I love the realism although I’m not sure some of the forthright comments would be allowed today!
Sandy, sounds like the sleep over was a success even if tiring for you. Did you enjoy a peaceful Palm Sunday once you were on your own?
The heating is back on but I’m not particularly warm so might set the log burner to light once I settle down this evening.
Happy Monday.

Happy Monday! Cleaning lady should be here any minute. John and Laurie will arrive around 4pm so I have time to do my errands. We are going out to dinner tonight. My taxes will be ready tomorrow so I will pick them up and get them mailed and pay the accountant. Will be happy when that is done.
Jackie, yes I had a nice quiet Sunday after the kids left and slept very good last night. I am glad you got your router working but who will fix the cut cable for your phone?
Barbie, I miss Babe but I do enjoy living alone doing what I want to do and watching what I want to watch on TV. Glad you enjoyed some ice cream.
Lin, I do hope your rash is better today.
Have a good day,

Hello, a busy week for Sandy. Enjoy the visit! And I hope your taxes are ready to pick up on Tuesday.
Jackie, the rash spread quite a lot on my hand last night but it seemed better this morning. That is until I touched my gardening gloves and it started up again. What in heavens name did I get into. I ordered a new pair of gloves this afternoon. I do not think I want to put those in the washer. They are a few years old and not in great shape so I think I will sacrifice them. Critters are digging up the new seeding. I ordered some hot pepper powder and will be trying to sprinkle it in areas of the digging. I hope I don’t kill the sprouting seed. And yes Jackie, I did watch the first series that was made of All Creatures Great and Small but I have not watched any of it for a long time. I do have DVDs upstairs, I might have to get some out.
Barbie, how lovely - a yummy container of premium ice cream that you can eat at your own pace. Enjoy! Another class had music that makes you move. This time it was Michael Jackson and Zu did enjoy it. Lovely that you are watching the TV programs that you prefer as well as a wide variety of music.
Enjoy the week everyone.

Happy Tuesday! John and Laurie have arrived. We went to dinner to celebrate my birthday (again) and had a wonderful time. Today we are going to the kiddos and bringing Portillo's. Charlie is in a sing at her school so we are all going to watch her and her class. Robby was able to take his test for a stripe on his brown belt and passed. He is getting closer to a black belt. My taxes are done and I owe nothing so the accountant is filing an extension so I don't have to drive there today and will mail the paperwork for me to sign. I am happy about that as I had my car mini detailed yesterday and is raining on and off. We will drive to Rob's in Laurie's car so mine can stay clean.
Have a good day.

🙀 Today was my phone appointment with Social Security. My first contact with them was near the end of January when I waited three hours for a call back and they said someone would call me from my local office to set up an appointment. I called back at the end of March and waited three hours for a call back where they asked me some questions and said someone would call back from my local office. A few days later I got a text and an email setting up a phone appointment for today. I got a letter in the mail confirming the phone appointment and a phone reminder yesterday. I was ready for the appointment with all the documents they said I'd need. Because I was concerned that Annie would be disruptive, I took everything to the garage to take the call. The woman I talked to asked me all sorts of questions including a few about Jake's marital history that I wasn't prepared for but had approximate answers for the questions. She reminded me that the call was being recorded, that there were severe penalties for not telling the truth, and that my claim would be approved when they got an original of our marriage certificate. She told me I could mail it to her office (90 minutes away) or drop it in the drop box at the office in my county (20 minutes away). Mailing it would have been easier but I chose to drive to the local office to give my car and dog and much needed long ride. Now I wait for official approval followed by money I didn't expect. I came home and celebrated with a fried egg sandwich and mowing the grass.

Sandy, keep on enjoying your visitors. Glad you kept your clean car out of the rain. Makes the expenditure feel more worthwhile.Jackie, hello. Hope you had a good day.

Happy Wednesday! Charlie's singing performance with all the first graders was wonderful. She did a good job as did all the kids. We got to Rob's early enough to have Portillo's and time to visit before leaving for the school. We got home early and watched a couple of episodes of Taskmaster which is from England. Did you ever watch it Jackie? It is really funny. Today Laurie and John are going to Laurie's migraine doctor in downtown Chicago. I will have the day to myself to catch up on my shows. They leave tomorrow, the time always goes so fast. I will go to my meeting and leave a little early to go to my regular eye doctor. Two of my friends will pick me up from the doctor and we will go to eat while my eyes clear from the dilation. Friday I get a mani for Easter and then another busy week starts again.
Lin, yes, I am happy my car is still clean for now but we are expecting rain tomorrow and for Easter. Working on your lawn already? I don't plant anything until May since I don't trust our weather.
Barbie, that is quite an ordeal you went through for Social Security. I am glad you are entitled to money you didn't know you would get, that is a good thing.
Jackie, have you lost all connections? I do hope you are okay.

😀😱 I will believe the money from Social Security when I see it in my bank account. I'm just relieved that I have followed through with the process.
🌻 Yesterday while walking Annie I stopped to talk to a neighbor who loved talking politics with Jake. They were both indignant about the same things. While talking about Annie, I mentioned how much Annie enjoyed the long ride to the Social Security office. My neighbor immediately jumped from talking about Annie to launch into a long tirade about what's happening to Social Security. I'll have to be more careful next time I talk to her.
🚘🌻🐾 Our day started great. The attendant at the Costco gas station had a huge dog biscuit for Annie.
🌻🌞 My day will be the usual--Zoom meeting, bike, knitting, TV, pull weeds, walk with and without Annie.

Hello friends.
Warm and windy today. I made a trip to Trader Joe’s. People were raiding the lovely cut flowers that were stocked just before the store opened. It was kind of fun to watch (yes, I was there before the store opened). The bunches of daffodils were very tempting.
I passed.
Sandy, we always seed grass early here when you have a bare patch. I didn’t get it watered today due to the crazy winds. Hope we get a bit of rain overnight. Enjoy your last bit of time with them.Barbie, your usual things sound good to me. The Zoom platform and class system crashed this afternoon. I was unable to get to done classes. They sent an apology. Lady night during my live class, there were continual interruptions to the audio. Someone said it was a type of sun interference. I got messages on screen asking if so wanted to check my system and perhaps try yo reconnect. I ignored it.

Happy Thursday! I have my meeting today but leaving early to go to the trial doctor's office to pick up eye drops and then to my regular eye doctor for exam. My two friends will pick me up and we will go for an early dinner until my eyes are clear enough to drive home from being dilated. John and Laurie are leaving soon and we had a great time together. The time always goes too fast when they visit.
Not much time so have a good day and I hope Jackie is okay I am starting to worry.

Good evening. It was another day of laundry, Zoom classes, a conversation with a friend who has the eye problems. She has found a different doctor and it hopefully means that things will go more smoothly. She and her husband are trying to find a dentist and new dental insurance. Unfortunately she hasn’t felt well enough to really pursue it and her husband never does those types of things so it is her chore. They each have an appointment with their current dentist on Monday. I think it is a bit too late to line up new insurance and a new dentist on the Friday before Easter.
A crazy day, lost package, a visit from a company marking out current electric service cables. A new line is supposedly being installed and it will go though my backyard in the utility easement but from the flags and paint, it looks like some significant repairs will be needed to my brand new fence. 🙄
it may storm overnight but we might get some needed rain. We will see tomorrow what has occurred.Be safe dear friends.

Here I Am trying to get something typed to post. It’s not only my internet because a couple of other friends have commented on interruptions of their connections. Also I can no longer get into MFP without starting at the beginning, similar to registering again. I couldn’t believe I had 9 posts to catch up on but in them sun spots were mentioned, at least that’s how I read it, and remember we were warned of disruption a couple of weeks ago. I received an email from my new internet supplier with a survey for me to complete about my experience so I have told them I’m not happy about losing my landline. In the first week when I phoned my number on my iPhone it just kept giving a ringing tone but now tells me no such number!
On Wednesday I received a letter from a daughter of a friend I’ve known all my life, letting me know her father had passed away. Her mum is a friend I’ve known all my life who has dementia and is currently in a care home so a double tragedy for the family. They have been advised not to tell their mum he died because it could initially have a detrimental effect and she would probably soon forget anyway. What a ghastly condition dementia is.
Today is wet and breezy with very low cloud hanging over our heads but that didn’t matter because I spent the morning with Linda at her home for coffee and delicious chocolate cake. George came with me and was well behaved snoozing by the fire. She told me about her trip to Brittany and we also made gardening plans for when the rain stops. She had brought me a jar of honey from France and also gave me a pretty tin chicken filled with treats and all I could offer in return was half a dozen of Stormie’s eggs and a small pond Marigold from my garden! Her neighbour who collects wood from different projects for me to use as fire wood was about to take some colourful terracotta plant pots to the tip so we looked through them and I popped 2 in the boot of my car! Yesterday afternoon I did manage a couple of hours weeding potting up seedlings and cutting the grass and my plan for the weekend is to begin a Spring clean in the cottage, starting with the big garden room windows.Time to put the kettle on for a cup of tea and toasted hot cross bun. I might even light the fire! Take care and hopefully I’ll get back to you without a problem from now on.

Happy Good Friday! I have been running all day, first to get a manicure, then to get my conditioner that Bryanna ordered for me and then to pick up a prescription. Did laundry and had groceries delivered. I just am able to sit down now at 5pm. Tomorrow I am hoping to stay home all day and night and work on my talk for my meeting Thursday.
Glad you are okay Jackie and good to hear from you.

Hello
Jackie, I have heard that sun spots are causing disruptions. I believe it. Tuesday evening, the Live You Tube broadcast kept losing the audio. And I received messages on my screen that said I needed to try to reconnect as I was not receiving a steady signal. There have been additional issues. The biggest one has been the audio track losing sync with the video. Today has been much better. I read that farmers have been losing their sophisticated GPS signal that help them place their seed with great precision. Some have had to just stop trying to plant and wait until they have a strong signal again. Your time with Linda sounds lovely. And yummm, a hot cross bun. Excellent day
Sandy, and a busy day for you but you did so much. I hope you have a restful day tomorrow
I did Zoom exercise classes, a Live YouTube session on nutrition, and several phone calls with friends there is a Good a Friday service tonight. I don’t know if it will be available to watch online last night’s service was not live.
Be safe my friends.

Happy Saturday! It has been a busy day already. Cheryl texted this morning and said why don't we go to cemetery today since it is supposed to rain tomorrow. They picked me up at 10:30 and we stopped for flowers before going to cemetery. We put all our flowers down and then I went to the office to complain about the vase on Babe's headstone. The landscapers hit it over two years ago and I have been complaining since. Finally the manager met us at the grave and agreed it had to be fixed and he would take care of it. He also said they would put grass seed down which I also have been asking. Hopefully this will be taken care of soon and I will be happy. I got home in time for our zoom call and finalize Easter plans with Rob and family. We will all go to Mass together and then later go to dinner where they cook in front of you since the kids like that and I do too. Busy life, healthy life. (I hope)
Lin, I hope you were able to watch online Good Friday services. I thought I was going to have a pajama day but wrong again. lol
Jackie, I agree dementia is a horrible disease. My uncle had it and it was so sad since her didn't know anyone. I remember trying to explain to him I was Jean's daughter, his sister. He said oh Jean how is she? She was dead for many years but he forgot. So sad.
Barbie, if I am correct you are celebrating Passover this week which ends tomorrow. Happy Passover.
I hope you are all enjoying your day.

😀 Sandy, Yes it's Passover now, but I'm not celebrating anything anymore. I like my life of simplicity with as few special occasions as possible. I'm not sure whether that means that no day is a holiday or every day is a holiday. You have so much festivity and special occasion in your life.

It has been a cold, rainy day until late afternoon so only a short walk with George, then I worked on washing the back wall in the snug that had some marks caused by damp before the new gutter was put up several weeks ago. The wall did feel dry now so I Google searched the best thing to use and the recommendation was simply bleach in water. There is a special paint I can buy to cover any remaining stains then that will hopefully be another job out of the way.
It was so cold by early afternoon I lit the main fire then took George with me to town for a fresh supply of his treats. While we were there the sun finally appeared and warmed us up!
Barbie, I take every day to be a holiday and think it’s important, especially after once reading that making it to my 70’s is a great achievement so it’s important to ensure what time is left is for doing whatever makes me happy.
That was sad about your uncle Sandy. It is so difficult to know what approach to take as we don’t want to say the wrong thing but there probably isn’t a right word either. It’s funny Lin that all this clever technology has been invented but no one considered sun spots! It will be that asteroid next that might be flying in our direction! 😳
A relaxed evening and now bedtime, but first Brady is asking for a midnight snack!😺

It is nice to hear from everyone. I am sorry but I am just droopy today. I was happy this morning and took a gift over to a friend’s home. She was adamant that I shouldn’t bring her anything….over and over. I purchased the items for them so I said I was going to drop them off. I felt a bit deflated. Ultimately she did like what I brought. Then I found out no live steaming will be available through my church for an indefinite period. I will be able to watch a service the day after. That really made me feel bad. For years I have been able to see and hear things in real time. I have been feeling a bit worse as the day went by.
I will have to adjust my attitude as soon!
Sorry friends, nothing else to say today.
Off to make a salad.
Sending best wishes.
