Last night a friend joined me in Walter and Tony's garden. We picked a lot of weeds! And then we picked some raspberries. We had such a lovely visit while we were there. I did make it to the gym beforehand, so I had a lot of physical activity yesterday. Today I slept waaaaaay in. Crazy. I have to tell myself that I needed the restoration and try not worry about losing so much of the day.

I hope you manage to get to that project Paula! I totally understand needing to be in the mood to do certain things.

Shari, did you get the fitnesspal mail I sent you with my email? Just checking because I don't use that feature and want to make sure you got it. I slept later than usual today too. I think it paid off for me because I was very well rested and productive all day long and didn't have even a short nap. I still didn't work on the church group tasks because I was busy doing other household things. I am giving myself till Tuesday to get this project off my list. I did very well with eating and tracking today. It seemed easy because I had no cravings and made all healthy choices. So often I find myself asking why every day isn't like today!

Here we are with another Sunday upon us. Let's all enjoy the blessings that come with it.

I did not get it Paula! I tried posting a message on your activity, but couldn't figure out how to send you an message privately. I will try and figure that out.

Glad you ate well Paula. I was way over in my fat intake after eating a croissant sandwich at lunch. I should have know that the croissant was going to be a lot of fat since it is made with so much butter. I will try to do better today! And like you, I ask that same question of myself when I have a good day.

    Have a blessed Sunday.

Shari, on the Fitnesspal homepage at the top of the page, next to the user name is little envelope. If you click on that there should be a fitnesspal email from me with my personal email. There is a number next to it telling you how many emails you have waiting I think. I used "messaged you" in my last post, but probably should have said emailed you on Fitnesspal. Let me know if you now can access what I sent to you via fitnesspal email.

My day was ok but not great. I was hungrier than usual and kind of tired too. I rested off and on. I sort of grazed all day as often happens when the hunger monster appears. Some of my grazing was healthy but not all of it. I didn't track everything. I did estimate some nibbles however.

Paula! I have your email at last. I had to log out of MFP and then back in. When I tried to send an email back to you, I got an error. I will try and figure out why. Something about captcha.

We had a very restful day today apart from a few hours at a baby shower. I also grazed and glad for a new day to try and eat better. DH had a few naps today, he just couldn't keep his eyes open.

I'm glad you got the email Shari. I had a very good day today. I slept later again and went through the day feeling very well rested. No nap needed today! I completed 3/4 of the church group project. I couldn't do the last part because of needed information I haven't received from an agency we support. I will easily be able to complete the last part as soon as I get the missing info. I ate well and totally within my point budget today. I feel confident that I can repeat this success on Tuesday.

I hope your success with food choices rubs off on me today Paula. I was under in the calories I can eat, but I made a few poor choices in the evening. I am hoping to do better today. We have left over chips from a gathering we had last week, I need more self control not to eat them!

Shari, Thank you for telling me about the Chewy online vet service. Buster had another "episode" this evening so I used the free service. The vet was very helpful and understanding. It could be anxiety or it could be a medical problem. I will call Buster's vet tomorrow. My day was good for food and tracking. My cleaning service was here today and came much later in the day than usual. I had to rush supper preparation so we wouldn't be late for our online Bible study.

I am glad that the online vet service was helpful Paula. I hope Buster gets a clear diagnosis so you can help mitigate any further episodes.

I tracked yesterday and didn't make poor choices, now to carry that forward to today. I have to go to the office and for some reason I don't do as well when I am away from home. I will be sure to pack a good lunch so I don't go looking for office snacks.

Congrats on a tracking good choice day Shari. Hope your day at the office didn't tempt you too much with snacks. I stayed within my point budget, but it was a struggle in that I was craving some higher point foods. I found today that tracking helped keep me in reality. Buster has an appointment to see our vet on Thursday. The tech I spoke with said the vet listed a long number of possible causes for these "episodes," including anxiety, illness, pain, environmental, etc. So I am sure it is better to have him checked. His blood work done in May was normal but as the tech said, things can change. Buster was his good old self in every way today. I am a bit anxious about driving to the vet because very heavy thunderstorms and possible flooding are predicted for just about all day Thursday

I didn't make good food choices yesterday so I will attempt to better today. I can do this!

I hope the drive to the vet goes well and that the storms don't impact your trip. I am sure you will get relief once you see the vet. I have no clue how they diagnose anxiety for dogs. Praying for a good outcome.

Hello! I hope you are both doing well! Paula, I hope that you were able to get some answers for Buster! Shari, your trip is getting closer! So exciting!!

I am at a dog show near Youngstown, OH. We got here last night. My girl isn’t entered this weekend, we’re just here to help with our club’s activities. I’m the acting President of the club, so DH and I will be busy working on our club’s activities.
So far my eating hasn’t been what it should be but I plan to do better tomorrow. I’m not logging it this weekend but have a good idea of how I’m doing. I hope you both have a great Friday!!

DW- You are the acting President! That is so good. I hope all goes well for you this weekend and it is a very positive experience.

I finally had a good day at making smart food choices. I know it is possible, it just takes some responsibility and some will power. I love my food, I just love the bad foods a bit too much. But, after yesterday's success, I am ready to do it again. I am setting my mind to making this year the weight starts to come off. I will spend the rest of this calendar year building and maintaining the good habits and then from Jan to Mar I am going to embark on a fat loss phase.

Weird, I wrote a post last night but it didn't post. Yet is here in its entirety. I like the plan you posted today Shari. Now that August is here I am focusing on weight loss in time for my cardiologist appointment in late October. I am determined to weigh significantly less than I did at my last cardiologist appointment 2 years ago. I know it can be done. Tonight my neighbors Jane and Blaine are bringing us Greek salads from a local restaurant. I think that won't be the lowest point option, but I am already figuring it into my total points for the day.

The section below is what I typed but didn't post last night:

DW, Sounds like you have a busy and exciting weekend ahead of you! I spent time in the Youngstown area in my youth as my dad's brother and family lived in Warren Ohio. I haven't been to that area since the late 1980s and early 90s. I have many fond memories of that area. Sending you best wishes for a successful and fun weekend.

Shari, Yes you can do this. So glad we have the 3 of us to support each one of us in our efforts.

Everything went well with Buster's vet visit, except we have no real answers. The vet ruled out most medical possibilities but is running one more blood test just to cover another possibility. He suggests that we give Buster a daily dose of Zylkene, an over the counter supplement derived from milk that has calming qualities. I think I might have tried this on my own when we first got Buster in an effort to help ease his separation anxiety. We will give it a try again now. The vet suspected that Buster was having a fear response perhaps to something outside, but we couldn't come up with what that could be.

Hello! We have a long weekend and I am so thankful. I will really appreciate spending some time our backyard and not sitting at a desk all day.

Paula it's good Buster doesn't appear to have any medical issue. Now that you know what to look for, maybe you will be able to figure what could be triggering him.

Let's do well with our eating choices today!

Enjoy your long weekend Shari! It is so nice to have an extra day when a holiday rolls around.

Buster's blood work came back normal. The vet called this morning with the results. He thinks something outside is scaring Buster, but we all are stumped as to what that could be. Buster hasn't had an episode since Tuesday evening.

I had a list of little to do items today and accomplished all of them. Sometimes the little things can be annoying till I get in the mood to do them. We have no plans for tomorrow and hope to keep it that way. I did very well with my food choices today and had no cravings or hunger attacks.

    Sunday blessings to all!!

I did well sticking to my meal plan. I am glad for that!

Good to hear that Buster doesn't have a medical condition, now to see if you can discover what could giving him anxiety outdoors. I hope you can figure it out Paula.

Walter called us yesterday when we were on our way to church. He said he thought Tony was on the toilet for the last hour and he was worried. We turned around and headed to their place. Tony was back in his bed, but had been in the washroom. He had/has diarrhea. He was asking if he should go to the hospital. We are starting to see that Tony really seeks medical attention and I think that is how he feels valued. Anyway, I said we could the health line and see what they said. We ended up missing the call back, which was very disappointing, but I had been asking Tony questions about his day. He mentioned he drank an Ensure so I went to the fridge to take a look. The fridge isn't working well and I was questioning him if it was a new bottle or one that he was finishing. In the fridge, I picked out an Ensure, the expiry date was 2021!!! I looked up what could happen if someone drank Ensure that was 4 years too old, not suprising, his symptoms are all listed. I made him some toast, gave him some gingerale and suggested to see how he did through the night rather than go to the ER. He agreed. We haven't heard from him so far, so I think he is probably on the mend.
