Good stuff here: http://www.channel4.com/4beauty/style/dress-for-your-body-shape/apple/how-to-dress-an-apple-shape
Welcome!
Welcome to the Apple Orchard! Anything goes here, whatever is on your mind. But especially those things that are uniquely apple.... fighting our tummies, looking for our waists, finding clothes that fit and flatter. I hope that everyone will share what has worked for them so that it can work for others of us, too.

Jeans. Do you have any that fit "right"?
I'd love to find some jeans that fit. Like most of you mine are all either too tight in the waist or too big for my legs. Think parachute pants. When I buy the lower ones they fall off of my hips all day long unless I wear a really tight belt . Has anyone found a store or a brand or a style that fits the way they should?…
The Best Foods to Eat for an Apple Shaped Woman
If you're an apple-shaped women -- storing fat around your midsection instead of on your hips, thighs and backside -- you may face increased risks of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. It's speculated that genes dictate body shape, and that body shape is linked with underlying processes, such as appetite, metabolism and…
New here... and unsure if I'm at the right place?
Well, I've asked to join this group....but I'm not quite sure if I'm an apple or not? Based on what I can find online, I am, but most people I see who claim to be "apple" seem to have bigger hips than waist, and I'm the opposite. When I was thinner as a teen/early 20s, I didnt' have a lot of shape, but you could tell where…
Down to last 10 lbs
I think as an apple shape we have to work a little harder ie be at a lower weight to look more proportionate. We cannot hide the weight as easily as someone that carrys weight in legs or butt. I am down to the last 10. I feel I have reached a plateau. What does it take to lose the last bit? What have you done to maintain…
I hate my hips more than my waist!
Any other apples have this problem? Where most women's hips round out, mine dip in. It goes waist to love handle to concave curve to slight saddle bags. It makes all my shirts look AWFUL! I just want to commiserate about it... Are there any exercises I could do? I sometimes feel if my fat could just shift down a couple of…
Juicing
I watched Joe Cross's documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. He did a 60 day juicing fast. I need to get more veggies in my diet and am struggling all over the board with my weightloss journey (a neck injury from a car accident has set me back a lot!). I'm not planning on doing a juicing fast, just incorporating more…
Am I an apple?
Hi, I am new to the group and I have an incredibly obvious question. Been looking online at body shapes and I was under the impression that apples had hips and bellys and not so much with the boobage. But looking at some of the lovely ladies in this group (very insprational btw) I am now wondering if I might be an apple. I…
Check In
Just checking in to see if we're still active. I'm still working hard to change my apple shape. I just began insanity on Monday. Hoping to get it done by the end of April. How's everyone doing?
Hypothyroidism and the Apple
I discovered this year that I had developed hypothyroidism. Over the course of 9 months, I gained 51 lbs and nearly 20 inches in my waistline while LOSING fat in my thighs. I tried for 2 years before learning of my condition to lose the weight I was steadily gaining and all my efforts did nothing more than slow it down and…
Which exercises work for you?
Right now I'm running the C25K program to work up to running further and getting higher burns. I've also read a lot about weight lifting and definitely plan to start some as soon as my husband gets our weights back. I know we can't completely change our shape, but I really would love to have a smaller tummy and more…
