Starting tomorrow
Okay, I've been meaning to start following the NROL4W since I read it about a month ago. I am finally making that leap! Went to the grocery store today and got my food ready for the next day or two tonight. I'm excited to start! I'm going to do my first workout tomorrow after work. One thing I was wondering about though…

You ladies ROCK!!
I want to say that you ladies totally rock my socks! I was browsing my groups and noticed that we have more members here than either the "ladie's strengh training" or the "bodybuilding" board. Keep pounding that iron like you mean it, and hitting the weight room like a woman, not like a woman using broscience!! Keep it…

Do you use weight lifting gloves?
I'm getting some serious calluses but I feel like I might feel dumb with gloves.

Frightening Calories!
So I started MFP back in April, and since joining have lost about 30pds. I set my goals up to lose 2pds/week, resulting in a 1,200 calories a day goal (plus eating exercise calories back). Obviously that amount is way to low for me now. Prior to getting this book, my workouts consisted of primarily cardio; with more and…

I am starting NROL4W, what should I know?
luv_lea sent me an email asking for advices and it made me think of making a list of advices for those that are starting this program. Add as you wish :) - If you start this program soon, it's not a bad idea to try to strenghten your hands. My weak grip has been one of my biggest obstacle. I knew my body could handle more…

Where are you in the program? What else do you do?
I'm still in stage 1, I haven't been able to get in as many workouts per week as I want with everything else I have going on and had to take a break from the weight room last week. I'm a part time aerobics instructor (Les Mills BodyStep and BodyPump), which some times gets in the way of my NR progress (last week I had to…

AHHHHH!
Ok so I did something stupid before. I got on the scale after eaten too much junk this weekend and having just gotten my period. I am up almost 3 pounds! Can someone help me to stop hyperventilating and tell me it's just water weight or something? I don't think I ate enough to gain this much. I usually only weigh myself in…

Grip
Hi ladies! I'm in stage 2 and have been having a problem since the middle of stage 1. On my step-ups, I can't progress to heavier dumbbells because my hands start hurting so bad I just want to drop them sometimes. Its gotten better, but I've been on 25 lb dumbbells for a while now. I've tried combating this by increasing…

Should I lose more weight first?
I understand that this program is designed to build strength and fat loss comes along for the ride, but my real question is this: Is this an appropriate program for someone like me, who has 40+ pounds to lose? I think that I could definitely be successful with this program, but I was just wondering if there were any…

sooo today didn't go well
some of the exercises call for using the weight bar, but what if my arms are still too weak to even lift it? i almost got really hurt today because i can barely pick it up, let alone do squats is there a modification or do i just have to build up strength for a while before i can even do this program? my arms have always…

Calories burned during a NRoL4W workout
I use a Timex HRM with chest strap. I start it after my warm-up and at the start of the first lifting exercise (A). I stop it after the last lifting exercise (for example D2 or E) so the program's rest periods are counted. I rest a little bit after the last lift and then I start the HRM again at the beginning of the…

NSV
I just wanted to post in case anyone wants another reason to throw out the scale. I've been doing NROL for 9 weeks now and bodypump before that. The scale has barely crept down. Well today I tried on the dress I wore to the rehearsal dinner for my wedding. Size 4 and I weighed 120-122lbs....!!! Well I tried that sucker on…

chocolate milk as a recovery drink
I have heard in different forums and websites that chocolate milk is being used by some as a post-workout/run recovery drink. It has a fair amount of protein (for an 8 oz drink). If you go comercialized and get a ready made bottle of chocolate milk you are looking at 200 calories with 5 g of Fat, 8 g or protein and 32 g or…

My complain about NROL4W
I waste way to much time flexing in front of the mirror, in windows and any place where I can see my reflexion :ohwell:

Started the group, let me know if you want to mod
I wasn't going to do it because I've been a mod on another chat site and it can be a pain, but I figured this was a topic with little controversy. Let me know if you want to help out!

What, no stretching?
OK, I've read it through then went to the index. Does NROLFW really not recommend stretching? There isn't actually anything negative to say you shouldn't, unlike some other habits it precludes.

Question
I am seriously considering getting this book and starting the program. Can you guys tell me approximately how long your workouts are? I LOVE the P90X workouts but I just don't have that much time to dedicate to my workouts. I have just started researching this book/program..... Can someone give me a quick over view? Also…

Program Pre-Work?
A group of my friends will be starting NROLFW in December but I am wondering if there is pre-work I can do to prepare? I seem to suffer DOMS to an extreme degree when I start a new program. Even if I don't work to fatigue I am crippled for a good week after starting something new. After I take a week to recover I can…
