UK primals/paleo - help please!
Does anyone in UK/England who is doing primal know where I can get coconut butter and any other primal goodie specifics? Local tesco are doing the Nakd bars and some decent seed snack options and I just about managed to find almond butter in holland&barratt, but need some tips on where to find other things that work well !

Cross-fit?
I know that every box is different, but I'm wondering how appropriate this level of training is for people "of a certain age" who have not exercised beyond the basics (daily walking, bike riding, occasional personal training). I feel like I need something radical to push my metabolism, but I want to make sure that the box…

Eating Primal Ruined These!!!
(And I couldn't be happier about it) - Since eating primal, and diving seriously in to the deep end of primal in the last 2.5 weeks, most of the foods that used to be treats or even necessary are just awful and I'm completely thankful for it. Pizza/breads tastes bland and processed, doughnuts taste like corn syrup, dessert…

Sabotaged by new au pair
Hi Guys, I have a lovely au pair moved in with us almost 2 months ago. She is from the chech republic and finds our primal diet at home very difficult to adjust to. I have gone out of my way to help her feel happier in the food department and buy her potatoes by the bag full - and boy does she go through them. The problem…

How in the World Does Anyone Get 8 Hours of Sleep?
Hello my Fellow Paleo and Primal MFPers, In my continued attempt at following a true paleo/primal lifestyle, I've identified a lack of sleep as one of the HUGE detriments to my overall health. If you are one of the people who manage to get a solid 8 hours of sleep every night, I would love to know your secrets. My story is…

I took the plunge...
Hi Everyone - I'm so petrified to even type this (I just joined this group 5 minutes ago looking for support)... I've been having severe digestive issues the past 4 months. I've had test after test to test for EVERYTHING. And the doctors can find nothing wrong. I've seen a GI doctor, my internist, and my rhumatologist.…

Paleo and Endometriosis
While I am still fairly new to Paleo, I have done my research and have much respect for the plethora of health benefits it has to offer. Having had a fairly healthy diet pre-paleo, it was not a difficult transition for me. Cut out the starchy potatoes, grains, dairy, legumes and I'm good. Only problem being, I love…

New to this lifestyle - help please
I'm new to this lifestyle and just wondering what have been your results with it? I decided to do it based on the recommendation of a friend of mine, so I'm slowly but surely making dietary changes. Question for everyone would be - what are good macro ratios of carbs/fats/protein for this type of lifestyle? I am assuming…

Pre-training for cross-fit
I'd like to get into cross-fit, the problem is I'm so out of shape I can't run more than 30 seconds, going up a flight of stairs leaves me sweaty and squats might confine me to bed for a week. I'm barely exaggerating. I'm really out of shape; I sit all day then sit again when I get home. Which means I can only get more…

Paleo Snacks for Hiking
Going for a big hike tomorrow and it'll be hot! Mid 80's. Have some uncured meat sticks, raw trail mix, carrot sticks, blueberries, grape tomatoes packed for snacks. Any other paleo ideas I should be thinking of that can withstand heat and a backpack?

I had an actual DR visit (annual - well kinda)
Just had my first "annual" physical exam in over 22 years. Dr. told me I am literally the healthiest patient he has seen this year of any age. Loved my blood work and couldn't believe my results. Said my results were "ridiculously stupid good". Told me not to bother seeing him in the future, just don't change my diet or…

Favourite fatty snacks?
Hi All, So I'm fairly new to paleo (working on week 2 now!) and am finding that I am meeting my protein requirements, overall I'm either right under or barely over for my carbs/sugar but am struggling to get enough fat in (I do cook my meats/veg/eggs with either butter or coconut oil but that's just not enough) What are…

Wanting to start paleo but don't know where to start
Hi all, I am thinking i want to start paleo but not sure where to start. I have a history of fibromyalgia but more importantly had to totally change my eating habits due to having chronic hives for at least 4 or 5 months. I eliminated wheat/gluten, soy, eggs, grains, and dairy. When I cheat with eggs now I get so sick. I…

Carbs vs. Net Carbs
While I know a lot of Paleo peeps don't really track carbs and just trust the body, I am trying to lose weight (40-50 lbs) and would like to make sure I am not hurting my progress by having too many carbs in order to lose it. I set my carb limit on MFP at 60mg and was wondering how many people go by that number or by the…

Sweet Potatos, yay or nay...
...for fat loss? I'm only on my first few days of Paleo and I'm easing myself into it gently, I'm still having porridge for breakfast (plain with berries and almonds) and bit of milk in my once a day coffee and afternoon tea. I had a healthy diet before where my main carb source was lentils, but I found myself craving…

Allergic to milk and don't like coconut
I have been dabbling in paleo for a while now and am looking to expand my recipes. I am allergic to milk and can't consume it in any form. I don't like coconut. I can taste it no matter how little or light the flavor. So many recipes call for coconut milk, what can I use instead?

New!
Hey all, I'm excited to be in this group! I've been eating Primal for just about a week now and I love it so much! I have Celiac disease, so I was already gluten-free, but dropping grains altogether is definitely an adjustment. I did a little experiment the other day to see if I am REALLY feeling as good as I think I am...…

evening snack ideas
I know we should eat enough at dinner so that we don't need a bedtime snack, but I've had one for as long as I can remember! Bodyweight Training--Body by You
Hi! Is anyone on here doing this? I've been using this book: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0345528972 for about two months now, and I've really made gains in strength! I like the simplicity of Bodyweight training, the fact that it's cheap (no gym required!) and that I can do it pretty much anywhere (so, theoretically there's no…
