  • 2 days in and 6 pages. I'm in for 168+ again.
  • A friend passed along a Forerunner 15 (with USB cable and chest-strap HRM) - any one interested?
  • Yes - I've been turribul for July - I was running, but just didn't post here (or even lurk/read). Goal is 168.08 - made July by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin. Hopefully can add some miles this month to make up my shortfall in June (about 5 miles). I'll prob try to go back and at least skim what I missed in July.
  • I was one of them! Wave F, finished in 1:05:47. Pretty pleased, given the conditions.
  • Just a quick note (130+ posts behind already - house renovation recovery!): Atlanta Track Club has already posted "red flag" warnings for the Peachtree tomorrow ("high temps and high humidity = make sure you hydrate starting today"). Umm - duh? I'll grant that there may be SOME newbies in the 60K runners tomorrow, but…
  • Going for 168.08 miles. Again. Hopefully, I can overcome the nasty Georgia humidity and stay on track.
  • I'll post totals later, but I didn't make my goal. I have enough extra miles from earlier in the year to stay ahead of the 2,017 goal for the year.
  • Not sure I'm going to be able to catch up over 250 messages - had to be off-line because of house renovation shutting down the router and such. In fact, I'm not entirely sure I'm gonna hit my goal mileage this month. Congrats to the good runs and races, commiserations for the injuries and bad runs, and let's finish the…
  • Best legs to @MNLittleFinn - so proud of him, and excited to hear how it goes! The kitchen renovation was at a point where I could actually go out for a run this morning - I was gonna be home after the run so I could lay the clothes out and let 'em dry in the sun (and not worry about the rain or whatever). I can do another…
  • 10 for me....
  • I'm getting tired of not running (without a good reason, and kitchen renovation that removes the washer/dryer doesn't count as a good reason). I hope that by Friday (when I'm taking a day off) I can be back to at least a few miles. GRRR.
  • Not sure about where they stand among XC/T&F schools, but Mercer (Macon, Georgia) is a REALLY good school and not SO far away. And my wife and I love to treat college students like our own kids.

  • You mean, I'm still not passed yet? Haven't face-planted in a run. Going up the stairs, yes, but not on a run. Damn, I still have to get to that milestone?
  • Did 3.23 miles for #GlobalRunningDay (#GRD5K)....
  • Must've never noticed the humidity line. Do you happen to know WHEN in a data gathering session the weather data is taken? at the beginning, at the end, or some kind of average? Not so much for my before-work runs, but my Saturday long runs are long enough that there can be a significant temp change (and I assume other…

  • 170 miles this month - still aiming at 2,017 for the year, so... Happy June Running to all y'all from the steamy muggy South!
  • Whenever the sun's out and I'm heading out to run - you're whispering in my ear. I'm being much more diligent about the sunscreen this year than before. Thank you!
  • I used one from MarathonGuide.com, and it worked well for me.
  • LOVE the tatt. I could never stand one (either wearing or getting one), but I love to look at good ones. That one's a beaut!
  • I use a FlipBelt https://flipbelt.com/ and it works well for me. I put my phone in a plastic (zipper sandwich) bag, and then slide that into the belt. Never had any discomfort with it, and rarely worry about moisture (sweat, rain) - even today with a drenching rain-run.
  • Shame on you both for wimping out of a few raindrops. Well, no shame on @skippygirlsmom, who's injured. But shame on @Stoshew71.
  • Oh, it did here (middle Georgia). My wife gave me "the eye" when I got back and said, "You ran in this?" To which I answered (the only possible answer): "Of course. Why wouldn't I?"

  • Not for shorter runs (anymore) - when I was a newer runner, I'd chunk a bottle of water into the grass at my first turn, pick it up on the return loop, and then chunk it again for the later return. These days, I generally don't do water for much of any of my runs. I *do* take water at stops in races.
  • If she wants to hear from a OLD man, I'll tell her my tale of woe about senior prom (from the dinosaur era!). Prom sucks for guys, too, sometimes. :hugs:
  • Preach it, brother, PREACH! I have YET to find a race photo that I like. Tho TBH, I have not found many pictures in my entire life that I like. Most of them have had someone else in 'em. Like SWMBO, or my sons.... But yeah, I hate race pics. I'm usually scowling, or else I have this goofy expression with thumbs up…
  • I think yesterday was the first time I'd completely forgotten about registering for a race, and finding out that I *had* registered when I showed up to volunteer (it's run by one of my running clubs), and Caryl said, "You aren't running? There's a packet for you over there...." She tried briefly to convince me to run it in…
