  • I'm back! Yay! Didn't realize there was a new challenge for July. Glad to see it! I know I am 11 days in but this is what I have so far: I hope to hit my goal of 70 miles for the month, which comes out to about 2.25 miles per day or roughly 5000 steps. 7/1 2100 steps/.63 miles 7/2 8227 steps/3.07 miles 7/3 1243 steps/.44…

  • Also, without sounding like a complete ego maniac, I want to look smokin' hot on my 25th wedding anniversary on July 20th! My goal is to comfortably wear my wedding ring and wear a dress 2 sizes smaller. I have a month to go. Weight loss has been steady but slow. Wish me luck!
  • I just did my blood work today and I took my A1C from 6.6 to 5.2 in 3 months!! WOOHOO!! Cholesterol is also completely normal compared to 3 months ago when it was scary high!! Yay me!! >Doing the Snoopy happy dance!! No meds for me!!<
  • Hey MFPals, I went away for 3 days and haven't tracked my walking even though I met my step goal and then some each day I was gone. 6/17 5,578 steps/1.97 miles 6/18 10,405 steps/3.94 miles WooHoo!!! 6/19 4,421 steps/1.51 miles (a little short here, had 5 hour drive home) 6/20 2,019 steps/.68 miles (recup day) 6/21 5,181…

  • Good evening MFPals! I just found this thread today. This is right up my alley. I started with eating better and exercising 1/27/16. It was slow in the beginning. I got pneumonia, bronchitis and a sinus infection all that the same time just prior to starting, felt better, went back on plan, then the illness reoccurred…
  • Start Weight (May 1st): 256 Goal Weight (June 5th): anything under 250 so I don't have to go up on the scale to that 250 mark. Weigh-Ins May 1st: 256 May 8th: May 15th: May 22nd: May 29th: June 5th: (6/1/16) 252 Fitness/Health Goals: Continue to workout at least 5 days per week for at least 30 minutes per day. Also to stay…
  • I am so impressed with your numbers! AND you hit your goal and kept going, even despite the wine! That too is my challenge.
  • Really great work going on in here!! I am so proud of all of you!! I am looking forward to my monthly weigh-in/measurements/pics coming up this week on June 1st. I know I have lost something. I don't know if I will be under 250, as is my goal, although I feel like it could be. I know I have lost size (I can feel it in the…
  • I am so impressed with all the successes I have just read! Way to go pals!! I have had a couple NSV this week that I wanted to share: 1. Yesterday I set out to go for a walk and just walk for a little bit. I was participating in the Fitbit Goal Day Challenge so at the least I wanted to meet my step goal of 5K steps. I had…
  • Yes!!! I have just gotten to this point where I was able to bring my seat a bit closer to the steering wheel! Yay!!

  • So I guess I failed big time at the "check in weekly part" of the challenge as listed by the OP. I apologize for that. I have however been coming in daily and reading how amazing everyone is doing. I am truly impressed and motivated by all the hard work going on here. As I had initially explained, I am not going to be…
  • THIS!! I would like to see a normal A1C by my mid June appt with my doc.
  • TMI maybe, but i was able to buy a smaller size underpants. YAY!! I also was able to hike yesterday for an hour and my knee pain was not nearly to the degree it has been in previous days. This is major progress for me.
  • This same thing happened to me as well when I started. In fact, it happened twice-the 2nd time after being sick with bronchopneumonia and not following plan. Since I have not cut out caffeine, I attributed mine to sugar withdrawal. I was pretty miserable for a solid 3 days on both counts and then it was over. Stick with…
  • That was exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you so much!!
  • I am having trouble seeing life's "silver lining" these days. I have an old knee injury from a car accident when i was in high school 25+ years ago (did i really just age myself?!) and it is seriously giving me the blues. Its swollen big like a cantaloupe, very painful, had to buy a knee brace to walk at all, and still…

  • I personally could never do this because in the past, I didn't stop at 1 or 2. That behavior is what got me into this predicament in the first place of needing to lose over 100 lbs. I was able to bust my cravings (and believe me, I had them BAD!) by just going cold turkey off all whites. I have not looked back. This is…
  • YES!!!!! I have been eating the THM way since Jan 27th. Actually my whole family has. I weigh in tomorrow so we'll see...
  • I too have osteoarthritis in my knees; particularly my right one is very bad. Had a bad car accident in hs and shattered more than 1/2 of it. Has pained me ever since. I find i am way more ambitious than my knee is. Its really slowing me down. Frustrating!!! Trying to be patient with myself. Not my strongest quality. Lol
  • I know exactly how you feel. I recently found out that I have diabetes and am at high risk for stroke and heart attack. I'm pretty annoyed that I did this to myself. I am also fearful that I will not be around for my family. That pushed me enough to start. I have been at this since Jan. 27th and every day it is a process.…

  • Let's do this! June 7th is my birthday so this will be a great bday present to me. Is it a huge biggie if i don't weigh in weekly? I have been weighing in 1x month so i stay focused and don't obsess on that blessed number. If this is a deal breaker for this challenge, let me know please.
  • Yes! To be honest though, those that couldn't give me the time of day as a heavier person really are not worth my time. It shows to me their true character. Maybe that sounds mean and I should be more forgiving?
  • HA! That's me! Who'd have thought I would actually look forward to exercising and not really caring what the weather is! I used to despise sweating. Now I know sweating means its working. Bring it on!
