I agree. Sesame oil is good for Asian inspire recipes. I also like to make infused oils with my favorite being basil oil.

From your list my favorites would be olive oil and butter. Personally my favorites are olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil, and peanut oil.

I make a protein latte. Almond milk, coffee, unflavored protein powder, stevia, and a little almond or vanilla extract. I usually have that with a Kashi Pumpkin Flax granola bar. My other favorite I call Eggs Ole! Toasted corn tortilla topped with a scrambled egg, guacamole, a little cheese, and salsa. My other go to is an…

Bake the corn tortillas on 400 degrees for about five minutes. Grill the chicken on the stovetop and slice up. Mash up the pinto beans and spread on the tortillas. Seed and slice the jalapenos and top the beans. Place the sliced chicken on top, add some salsa and a little sour cream. Have some greens on the side and if…

Welcome Sarah, feel free to add me as one of your friends!

I believe the trick to a lot fiber is due to chicory root fiber. I see that as an ingredient in a lot of really high fiber foods. But this is just a guess with no hardcore data.

I love when I can make something from scratch. Will you share your recipe(s)?

This is the group I've been looking for...I am heading into my mid-fifties and lately I've been feeling a little lost. There are days when I feel like Kathy Bates in Fried Green Tomatoes, "I'm to young to be old and I'm to old to be young." So it will be nice to connect with all of you. Next week I start the third phase of…

I do this too. I don't believe in forbidden foods but if it's a less healthy food, say a piece of chocolate cake I stick to the three bite rule. That way I feel like I'm indulging but not going overboard. I will also add a little extra physical activity to balance out calories in/calories out. I do eat dark chocolate…

For me it's chickie, chickies! You know what you Q-tip looks like after cleaning your ears!!!

I make my own dressing too. It depends on what I'm in the mood to eat. Sometimes I make Greek yogurt based dressings (blue cheese is my favorite) or I do a vinaigrette. However when I do a vinaigrette I always reverse the amount of oil with the amount of vinegar. I keep a variety of oils and vinegars on hand. I also use a…

This is one of my favorite lunches.

I like to make cornflake crusted chicken thighs. I take skinless chicken thighs and dip them in buttermilk mixed with hot sauce. Then I dredge them in ground cornflake crumbs (seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika) and bake for about an hour at 350 degrees. Usually when I make that chicken I serve it with…

I like making own veggie or fruit chips. Thinly sliced apples, bananas, sweet potatoes make great chips. I also like to make carrot or kale chips. For any of these I make a dip with plain Greek yogurt, avocado, and lime juice for the savory chips and add a little honey for the sweet chips. When I make them I portion out…

I use it in my coffee, oatmeal, and other cereals. I also use it a base for my protein smoothies. I use it as a substitute for regular milk in recipes if it's adaptable.

I like to make my own dressings too. Usually a vinaigrette except that I reverse the ratio of vinegar and oil using 1 part oil to 3 parts vinegar. I use olive or canola oil for the oil. Depending on my mood I have a variety of vinegars...red wine, red wine pomegranate, white and dark balsamic, apple cider, champagne, rice,…

I use Nature's Best Isopure Unflavored Protein. It's a very light powder that dissolves beautifully and has virtually no taste. I mix it in with my coffee in the morning and turn it into a protein latte!
-
I make parmesan cheese crisps. 400 degree oven, tablespoons of shredded parm, bake for four to five minutes. Store in a sealed container. They get nice and crispy, parm is a low fat cheese, and provides protein.

You like beans. How about making a three bean salad. Minestrone soup might be a good choice. I have a recipe for black bean brownies and a caramel sauce made from sweet potatoes. If you would like these recipes, message me and I will send them to you. Will you eat yogurt? If it's available to you try Oikos Triple Zero…

I just came upon this thread and I'm in. I'm 51 years old. I had gastric bypass in 2006 and lost 176 pounds. I gained 60 pounds back but have now lost about 28 pounds. I'm two pounds away from onederland. Here are my goals for August. 1. Achieve onederland! 2. Walk 30 minutes every single day. 3. Eat at least 80-100 grams…

I found a new snack. Air popped popcorn, dry roasted peanuts, and mini dark chocolate chips. It's awesome!

I freeze fruit and add it to my water or green tea Sometimes I do veggies like cucumbers and also will add a little mint. I didn't used to be a water fan either but I made myself drink it until it became a habit. Now I prefer water and tend to only drink water or green tea.

I didn't make the claim, I was refuting the claim. So get the hell of my back!

Are you kidding me? I worked on an eating disorders unit and this is exactly what they do. I would like to you to provide me with your research. I WORKED ON AN EATING DISORDER UNIT!

I know I really stirred the pot on this I really want to fight this but that would be jacking her post so I'm not posting another thing.

Okay, what I would like is to see other studies supporting this.

So you all developed this opinion based on one study. Wow! There's no arguing with that!
