Hey guys!! I'm Andrea. I'm an OR RN. I work 4-10hour shifts a week 645-1715 and take 12hr-24hr call shifts about once a week depending on the month. I have 5 call shifts this month and 1 call shift for Feb! I'm currently training for my first half Marathon in May. Also hoping to add some weights in. Feel free to add me as…

Yes just lifting weights. I am a petite girl, 4'10 100lbs. I like to think I'm not weak, but all of my strength is in my legs. I need to work on upper body, and core. I would like to lean out my thighs though!

I will do some research on all your different suggestions. I do have the NEw Rules book. I made it to stage 2 but found it to get pretty boring pretty quickly and lost interest.

Hello again! I've been slacking on the posting part but not on the running! I'm on week 4/20 of my half marathon training program! Hope everyone is doing well! I don't have a specific mile amount for January just to stick with my plan! Here is a photo of my favorite running partner and my new running shirt!

So this month started great, but I've been coughing for the past 3 weeks and have had left sided chest pain for the last 2. Finally went to the Drs for a chest X-ray because I couldn't take the pain anymore . It was negative... The Dr said I badly strained my intercostal muscles from coughing so much and now am on Abx,…

Hey all! Hope everyone is having a fantastic Monday! Just wanted to update you all on my running! I'm on my 13th race of the year! 2 more races and I've earned the race series jacket! I PRd my 5k this past Sunday, and have now shaved off 3 minutes from my time since I started in March. I also won 1st and 3rd place in my…

I'm aiming for 15 or more miles a week, so 60 plus is my goal for September! :) joined a local running group and went to my first "pub run" last night. So nice to chat with like minded people! Hoping to attending a pub run once a week! Basically you meet at a designated bar, run a 3 or 5 mile loop group run back to the…

Hello ladies and gents, sorry I've been MIA. But I'm back! And I've been running! Completed my first 5 miler Aug 9th. Time was 45:20, and almost puked when I crossed the finish line. It was well worth it though! Also had a virtual 5k this past weekend. My sister invited me to run a half with her in NY in October. She's 4…

I'm going to aim lower this month since I have a weeks vacation up north dirt biking, and other fun summer activities. So I'm going to say 50-55 miles

I'm from NH :)

@mwyvr I have a 5k and a 5 miler in August, a 5k and 10k in September, two 5ks in October, and as of right now a 5k in November. I'm thinking my next New Years resolution will be a 1/2 in the spring of 2016, so I have all winter to train and work on my pace! Nice job everyone reaching and surpassing their goals!

Ran my first official 10k race today! (not counting virtual races) It was beyond hilly! The slogan of the race is "its a HILL of a 10k" time was 58:11. So proud of myself! Running a 10k was my new years resolution...yay!

Quick poll: have you ever run when you were upset? And did it make you run better or worse? I was upset yesterday, so instead of eating the pint of ice cream in the freezer I went for 5.5 mile run. . . I had a hard time breathing and my chest felt heavy for the first few miles..i kept having to stop to seriously catch my…

@7lenny7 they are loving it! I can even take both at once and not fall on my butt! I started to gear up my girl Aurora yesterday and my boy Timber started to cry because he wanted to come for a run too! So off we all went! I just ordered a running belt that has a pouch and water bottle holder, as well as two 4ft bungee…

@Elise4270 those horse flies are killer. I have so many bites on the back of my shoulders. I feel your pain! @karllundy props for a 5am hot and humid run! Took an easy run today after a week off d/t a knee injury. Up to 8 running miles this month. I've walked more but am only counting my runs. The week out killed me, hopefully going to pick up the slack without over doing it!

My knee is feeling good, but it's super hot and humid today, plus I'm on call...which means I'm home bound...so starting up again tomorrow. Going to Bikram Saturday (hopefully) to stretch some of these super tight muscles! @skippygirlsmom I don't understand why they put treadmills in front of mirrors like that...my gym…

Update: I was at my nieces birthday party yesterday and my sisters friend, an athletic trainer, did a little eval on my knee. She said it's definitely ITBS and to use a foam roller, rest and recommended a few stretches. Thank you all for the tips and encouragement. Hopefully I will be up and running by the end of the week!

So I ran my first virtual race today. It also happened to be my first 10k race ever. I chose a long dirt road to run it on, a surface I'm use to, and a route with not too many hilly surprises. I ran this alone, but was secretly competing with a lone jogger I spotted about half a mile ahead. I was doing great until about…

I want to lose body fat and gain lean muscle. I dont want much, just a tighter abdomen and little overall definition..

Finished off June with 53 miles. Hoping to bump it up a little bit and reach my initial goal of 75! I have two 10K races this month. I'm both excited and nervous! One of them is virtual, and is this weekend the 4th! The other is on July 26th, which I've heard was one of the hardest 10ks in the state (r/t hills).. excellent…
-
My ticker isn't working at the moment but my total for June was 53 miles, not the total I was hoping for... I'll shoot for 75 miles for July once again! Have my first 10K Race on the 4th! Good luck to anyone else racing this weekend! Happy 4th of July!
-
@7lenny7 Thank you for all the tips! They are already use to walking 4 miles at a time..would that change, or increase their distance for running? I've done 2-6 with them...they trot more than a full out run and do take frequent potty breaks and seem to tolerate it just fine...but I may be doing to much to start and need…
Oh my what beautiful dogs! Are they huskies or akitas? I don't have any running tips. Mine aren't even leash trained. There are a few here that will be of help. Great idea on the pack run!
They are both Siberian Huskies :)

Ok, so I haven't been doing as well as I wanted this month, but it's ok. I have been making an effort, and there is a new month around the corner! I also made a new PR this past fathers day, 26:10 5k race in the pouring rain...so there's that :). Also, my husky puppies turned 1 this month, which means I can finally start…
